Lovely old fashioned pub. Very busy when we went but got a nice table for two. Very attentive service. Food was better than the average pub meal and good portions. Beer was good too but was driving so could not drink as much as I would have liked !

Spot on pub grub. Even had desert which is unusual for me. Good to see a pub serve propper food rather than chain frozen rubbjsh. Will go again.

Been her a few times this year. The barstaff are really friendly and make you feel really welcome. The food is really lovely. Would definitely recommend.

Awful meal here, tasted just like it had been pinged in the microwave, not good at all nothing homemade about it sadly. Shame as used to be lovely food.

Nice old fashioned pub, been here a couple of times and impressed both times. If you grab a special off the menu and a pint, expect to pay just over £20 but the food was good and service friendly.

My family and I booked for Sunday dinner after a busy afternoon walking round Delamere forest. The staff were lovely and friendly. We had starters and the roast dinner with a mixture of meats which were all delicious. The Biscoff cheesecake was tempting but everyone was too full from lunch but we would definitely return to try it. Thank you x

Friendly bar staff let me sample a beer, gave advice. Real ale was nice too my friend said. Lovely garden seating area. Priced well cheaper drinks than bears paw.

We had lunch on a week day. We found a shady spot in the garden, ate good food, and drank good beer. Service was friendly, attentive but not intrusive, and efficient.

Went for an evening meal - friendly greeting from staff, very attentive. Ordered the terrine which was lovely- we had salmon which was nice - steak pie described by partner as OK - I had the pasta which was bland and mushrooms were woody. I mentioned it to staff . who asked if ok, because I hadn’t eaten it - I was told they would speak to staff but disappeared they Ididn’t give me any feed back. Unfortunately it’s too far for us to travel for an ok meal.

Stopped in on our way back from Wales after a google search and was really happy with our choice. The pub was perfect for a pint and lunch stop, staff were fantastic and the food was very good for the money. If in the area again I would definitely pop in.

Always delicious food. I meet friends in Frodsham for lunch. There are many places to choose from but we always go the ringer’s because you are guaranteed a gorgeous meal. The menu has lots of choice and everything is cooked to order and really fresh. The building is 400 yrs old and full of charm. The staff are delightful

Was staying overnight locally.and both my partner and I didn't fancy the hotel offering, went for a.d drive and stumbled upon this gem of a pub, on entering was a little bit thrown by the lack of standard lagers but.plumped for the Manchester Craft Lager which turned out to be a great choice (shame we don't get it down South!!!) We enquired if they had a table available for food and they managed to squeeze us in. Food was both plentiful and delicious and price.m was very reasonable. Would highly recommend if in the area and also would look to revisit if we're back this way again.

What an amazing meal we had yesterday at the Ring of Bells for Mother’s Day. All 3 of us went for the Sunday roast consisting of a trio of meats and it was one of the best roasts we have tasted. Desserts were delicious with all 3 of us having something different, sticky toffee pudding, cheesecake and Bakewell. The atmosphere was lovely with a good choice of music that wasn’t too loud. Friendly staff. Love this place. Thank you for helping to make my Mother’s Day special.

We dined here when we stayed for a night in Frodsham. Quite a nice authentic little British pub, with very pleasant staff. We were a little early for our table, but it was ready for us. The food is fresh and tasty and they had a decent children’s menu, which my five-year-old daughter enjoyed a decent size bowl of spaghetti Bolognese from. If you want Gastro pub style food, then I would say this probably just narrowly misses that style but it’s still incredibly good food. Would be very happy if this was my local! Decent prices as well, and once again, staff were lovely, didn’t get the young woman’s name who served us, but she was incredibly busy, but still very patient and well mannered. She was a young woman with piercings and dark hair.

Had lunch after shopping in Frodsham. Lovely meal. Quick service from friendly staff. Piping hot with hot plates so it stayed hot. We both had the lighter bites, thankfully. The portion size was spot on.

Really welcoming pub, and especially the chap who went out of his way to find us a spot on a busy Wednesday lunchtime. Food was freshly made and served promptly- a fair price too. Best to book next time we visit - and we will be back.

We called here for lunch on a bitterly cold November afternoon. Although the radiators were warm, the place was very cold and I ate my entire lunch with my coat on. There was a gas stove next to our table, but this was only turned on when my husband commented on how cold it was. The fireplace was full of old cobwebs. We both had the chicken liver pate, which was very nice, and was served with two rounds of proper toast - not the awful crostini you get at a lot of places. My husband had the steak pie, which he said he enjoyed. I had the fillet steak stroganoff with chips, both of which were lacking in taste. The service was not great. I ordered a drink before I ordered the food. However, the waiting on staff did not return to our table to offer me another one. There were no check backs at all during the course of our meal. We gave up waiting to pay the bill, and so paid on the way out. Again, we were not asked if we had enjoyed our food. Quite disappointed. Probably will not return.

If you want a more expensive than you can do yourself at home, but same quality this is the place for you. Aldi bread for sandwiches and cheap cuts of meat. I agree with other posts the frozen chips come from a basics range in the supermarket. Food was like I can cook at home. Better to save and go elsewhere, plenty to choose from in this area.

Great atmosphere, service food and beer. Met up with family for lunch, not having booked. Tables were moved around to accommodate us. Service was really excellent, food really tasty (my daughter loved the curried parsnip soup) and they accommodated our young children. Pub of the year for good reason

3 of us had a great meals we all had different and enjoyed every thing. The service was very good and friendly. The atmosphere was cosy and comfortable . We will go again.

Do not recommend at all, ordered fish/cod in thyme with beetroot and Parmesan fries! Fish tiny bland and completely tasteless….. at this point we should have complained and left! The fries had never see Parmesan, cheapest of frozen fries and a gelatinous blob of cheese on top, which was more akin to an old piece of cheddar. I could go on, but would be labouring the point as my complaint fell on deaf ears. Will never go there again poor in every respect … staff looked bored to death, with zero customer service …… Don’t waste your money or your time!

I have always recommended this pub for the food in the past as every meal in the previous 3 years was always very good. Been about 12 months since we went last time, however this time I was not overly happy about it. I ordered the Cheese and Onion Pie with chips and veg. First of all found it a little strange it came with gravy but hey ho. The chips were distinctly average without any taste, wouldn't be surprised if they were frozen chips and were soft and not cooked properly, I remember them previously being well cooked hand cut chips which were crispy on the outside. The Cheese pie seemed too perfect to be hand made either and again was full of cheese with little taste and no onion could be found at all. Veg comprised of 4 slices of carrot and 2 small pieces of broccoli. Based on this experience it is not at the same standard as it was for my previous visits. Hope the owners read these reviews so they can rectify things that do go wrong from time to time.

Lovely evening at this pub. Glad we booked as very busy on a mid week evening. Staff very attentive and friendly even though they were extremely busy and service was excellent. Homemade food, freshly cooked and very tasty. Liver and onions was a delight as was hubbie's steak and ale pie with homemade chips. Nice glass of wine and a Manchester Beer to accompany. Shall certainly visit again when in the area. Thanks x

Recent visit was ok, although service great, food not so. The fish cakes , tasted bland and easily I could have bought from a supermarket cheaper , that’s how I felt .. apologies.. and the dessert no taste at all, although it looked great. So not in a great rush to eat there again..maybe just alcohol next time !

Great night out. Attentive staff, first-class food, and welcoming ambiance. The Chef came out of the kitchen to ensure customers were happy with the food. Very busy for a Monday night but that is the result of its increasing popularity. Fully recommended but you will need to book ahead!

Lovely traditional pub, staff friendly, and helpful. Even Bobby dog got top quality service with a bowl of water brought to him and a jar of treats to nibble. He felt very special indeed. We all did. Thank you

Massively under impressed. Cannot understand all of the glowing reviews. For the price paid the food was pretty poor. A very salty bacon chop, a burger and children’s nuggets = £40+ … no desserts, no coffees and just half a beer, a lemonade and a fruit shoot!! Yeouch!! And our grandson couldn’t even eat the battered nuggets!! (Why not bread them??) The menu is sparse and the prices are high for what is very, very ordinary pub food. Cannot recommend it and would never go back. I do appreciate that everywhere is trying to simply survive, but the pricing structure of most eating houses has simply gotten silly and is driving custom to stay at home … ie: £12-15 for a humble burger is simply ridiculous by any standard. £8-10 for a baked potato…really?? If I am to have my pocket picked then I want to feel good about the food I’ve eaten and not leave thoroughly disappointed.

Called in for lunch on the strength of its 4.5 rating … could not have been more disappointed - and won’t ever go back. Totally fed up with paying through the nose for extremely average pub food. £40+ for a burger, a (very salty!) bacon chop and some children’s nuggets - and that’s without any dessert - even for the child!! - half a beer, a lemonade and no coffees!!! Ouch!!! To me, that is unbelievably poor value for money for the quality of food received. These days, I rarely write reviews, but when an establishment is garlanded with praise and gets a 4.5 rating - which encourages me to try it - then I think the truth as I experienced it needs to be told … and it really isn’t worth your time, or money.

They really know their beer in this place. Well-informed and friendly bar and waiting staff. Cosy interior with a good atmosphere. Usually frequented by Frodsham locals but the friendly welcoming sort.

Excellent leek and ham hock crumble and lovely sweets. Partner had a proper pie! steak and onion. Chips very scrumptious, veg very fresh. Waiting on staff can't do enough for you and are extremely welcoming. In a backwater but well worth booking a table as it is packed. Despite that the service is very quick. A good chef obviously. We have put this Inn on our todo list every time we are near Frodsham. I liked their ham crumble so much I'm now cooking it at home! We had a lovely hour and a half here - I could have quite happily carried on relaxing in their beer garden all afternoon. I eat out a lot and I can categorically declare this is the best pub I've visited in a long while. Many thanks 2023 visit- still excellent. Can recommend the fillet steak stroganoff!
