Great food and entertainment lovely staff .

Visited the Fox and hounds due to reviews and location near the M6 as we were travelling back home from a few days break in Chester and wanted to meet up with family from Stoke so this was a perfect location. Booked a meal for 5 online including 1 grandson. We were met by Ange who was so lovely helpful and friendly as were all the staff who served us. We had drinks outside in the garden and then a meal inside in a lovely booth area. The food was delicious as were the drinks and the whole experience perfect. Highly recommend the pub and staff so will definitely be back. Thanks again to all it made our day Hugh Babs and family.

Fabulous pub . gorgeous big garden. We have been for Sunday lunches, but today we were at a wake for a very special gentleman. The service was still top notch . Food lovely and a lovely kind and caring atmosphere x

I am gluten free and most places have limited options but not here most things on there menu we’re available gluten free. Me and my friends stopped on the way home as the m6 was very busy so we stopped for a quick dessert! And it was AMAZING! Service was perfect, Emma went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect! Definitely recommend the waffles whether thats gluten free waffles or normal! Thank you again. Will definitely be returning!

Never been here before and now I wish we lived closer, we had the warm ploughman deli board. The black pudding Stilton melt is amazing. The garden is lovely and the staff friendly.

First time visit. Very impressed with interior decor and ambience. Had asked for quieter table. Was given one in the conservatory. Warm day but plenty of air flow so very pleasant temperature. Sunday menu was good. Chose Steak & Guiness Pie + Roast Sirloin. Both were incredible especially the pie. All the vegetables were cooked to perfection. The gravy was scrumpy. Our waitress was Jazz who was quiet, very polite and brilliantly attentive. Couldn't fault a single thing. Will be back very soon. Thanks for a lovely meal. Congratulations to the chef & kitchen team for sending out piping hot food which was delicious 😋

We visited for Sunday lunch today for a family birthday and sat in the beautiful marquee overlooking the garden outside. Staff were very friendly and attentive and offered us lots of options with our food. As a member of the family has a gluten allergy he was surprised of the choice of options for him on the menu. We waited the correct amount of time for our dinner and it was all beautifully cooked and presented. Portions were very generous and even though I was full, there was no way I was turning down a Banoffee Sundae! The team here overheard us wishing my mother in law a happy birthday and surprised her with a little treat too! We can't wait to return.

What a great find and thoroughly recommended as a stop if you're traveling up or down the M6. Just a minute or two straight from the motorway. They have a really good chef, the food is excellent. It's a lovely pub with a welcoming atmosphere and a large garden for sunny weather with sparrows in the hedge! I had a nice break here from a long journey.

Called into the Fox & Houndson on our way to North Wales thought we'd have a spot of lunch, sat outside in the sunshine 😎really enjoyed our visit food was good and the service was great 👍👍

Stopped in for a quick dinner. 20sec off the M6 motorway so really handy. Delicious salad and hubby had great steak and chips. All in all really good and nice staff. 5 stars!

Last night, Buckley Family meal, 6 adults 1 child, we all had lovely food, main course and sweet. Plenty to choose from on the menu. Service was excellent, staff very pleasant, would recommend and we will visit again. Thank you.

A table of 8 mid to late fifties mostly private school friends that enjoy food and drink, we weren’t disappointed the food was excellent service a touch slow but we enjoyed chatting etc so all good, young staff well chosen as they were all polite smiles and very capable, 7/8 had steak and 7/8 said it was exceptional so well done, music act was brilliant not to loud and played a varied set we throughly enjoyed !!! You will see us again if we aren’t barred

One hears all sorts of superlatives about food, such as "award winning" this and that. The beef and Guinness pie served up at The Fox and Hounds really deserves a special mention, however. I'd go so far as to say it was the most delicious pie I've ever had the pleasure to consume. Truly a paragon of pies! The Fox and Hounds is a lovely place to eat, drink and be merry.

A massive disappointment. We booked for Mother’s Day and were really looking forward to a Sunday lunch with all the family. The venue has gone down hill since we last visited. The service was very slow almost non existent so after waiting over an hour for food we received our kids garlic bread starter . The quality was poor and all the starters were burnt, they also forgot one of the children’s meals which we had to remind them about. They eventually brought it out 10 minutes later when all the other kids had finished with little apology. The staff were not attentive and the dining experience was awful. After well over an hour and only having had some water to drink and some burnt garlic bread for the kids we decided to leave and not bother waiting for our mains. We ended up with a take away at home. Such a shame and sad end to a lovely day. It was such an awful experience we will never return or recommend this restaurant.

I had an awful meal here several years ago and after avoiding it for so long i thought I’d give it another chance, i ordered the fish and chips , unfortunately it came out well over done borderline burnt rock hard batter and overdone chips and tasted awful , i could only stomach 2 forks and i had to stop , my wife’s pasta was better but not great at all , real shame as the pub itself is an attractive place with nice staff but I’m sorry to say the food was really poor . After asking for the bill they still had the fish on the bill and i had already told the waitress how bad it was and i couldn’t eat it , they eventually removed the fish from the bill but it still ruined our evening and i had to go home and cook for one .

Epic food . We had prawn cocktail and mussels to start . Mains were Sunday lunch . Trio of three meats and a lamb . AMAZING!!!. Desert was churros with chocolate sauce (we shared) great portion size on all three courses. Great value, quality ingredients.great service. Definitely recommend.👍

What a great pub! Delicious roast that was served quickly. Service was great and all the staff were friendly and very well turned out. There was also some live music, which created a lovely atmosphere.

Visited 22/2/25, the food we both had was delicious and the waitresses were hard working and polite. However the evening was spoiled by an over 45 minute wait for our food. When I complained ( after 30 minutes ) I was told it depends on what I had ordered! ( fish and chips and chicken supreme) then was told they cook in order, not true as several orders were brought out to later arrivals. All would have been fine if we were warned of a delay in the kitchen and not given bullshit excuses. We did receive a complimentary dessert and coffee as a belated apology. Such a shame as food was delicious and the singer was good. Please just be honest with customers in future and advise if there are delays in the kitchen. Must do better guys

Fantastic pub - came here for a after-work chat with a friend and there was very early live music. The staff were brilliant & even took drink orders at the table which was great.

Incredible food and atmosphere. We called in tonight by chance and are so glad we did. The food was delicious - for both adults and kids, service was prompt and friendly. The live music was top notch. Beer garden is huge and would be great in summer, especially with kids. Wish this was our local! Thank you 🙏

We got there early lunch on a week day so were the first in, we we're greeted with a smile but it was really cold once sat down. I ordered the fishfinger sandwich and my with had the steak and Stilton sandwich, which we had had each on the two. The fishfinger was definitely the best, streak was tasty but too chewy for me. Over all it was very nice.

Simple, nice environment, enjoyable food . Preferable to book as you could be waiting. Service not the fastest but pub was busy and they were doing their best and pleasant which makes all the difference. Definately worth a visit.

Lovely starter being garlic bread, amazing main having rump steak but the Eaton mess for pudding made the rating go down. Mostly cream, very little meringue and berries. Shame really. Offered no discount.

Having enjoyed eating here before on a number of occasions, yesterday was disappointing. Although less busy than on previous visits, with few diners at tables and no-one at the bar, my party of four was slow to be shown to our seats and slow to be served with starters. The three small ham and cheese croquettes starter was more an appetiser than a starter portion. Surely the fish and chips would make up for this? Unfortunately not. Although the fish was good and with crisp batter, the chips did not taste good. It was suggested to the waitress that perhaps they had been left pre-cooked for some time before being second-fried. She said she would report to the kitchen. No feedback had arrived before the bill was paid. It was then reported that the manageress had spoken with the kitchen, but we received no feedback or explanation. Slow service, food dissatisfaction and lack of attention by management, make the £35 per person we paid for this lunch seem expensive. Come on Fox and Hounds: you can do better than this.

The food was fabulous. We always test a pub meal by the quality of their steak pie. This was a definite 10 out of 10. The best we have had. Praise indeed.

Chose the pub for a family meet up and it did not disappoint. Good food, nice staff and a cosy atmosphere. Play area looked good, so we will be back when the weather is better!

Brilliant. That's it! I didn't want to add to that but... service excellent with well trained, pleasant chatty staff, food excellent if anything the turkey was even better than the December menu I had two weeks ago, the host Becky was visible to customers talking to us all whilst continuing to work serving customers. Decor was excellent. I loved the real tablecloths. Anything missing- only somewhere to lie down for a snooze.

This is the third time we have had Christmas Day lunch here. This year was a bit disappointing as some of the Christmassy extras were missing. The martini we were given on arrival had lots of syrup in it and was much too sweet. Many people couldn't drink theirs and sent it back. There are usually a few chocolates and crackers on the table to set the atmosphere, but not this year. Also the 'amuse buche' was missing between courses. I know it's only small things but we had paid £90pp plus extra for our drinks. However, the turkey dinners were very good and the staff were lovely and attentive and earned themselves a big tip.

Had a roast lamb yesterday and it was cooked to perfection. Best lamb I have ever tasted.

It's the first time I've visited in a few years and I'd forgotten what a gorgeous place this is. The ambiance is warm and relaxed, The food is excellent. The place was spotlessly clean and the staff smiling and very helpful. The best find for me was the range of beers including some from the local Merlin Brewery - I've fallen in love with Dark Magic ale so I'll definitely be going back.

Called in last minute not realising how busy it would be on a Tuesday evening. Luckily they managed to squeeze us in. We were not disappointed. Even though it was really full and busy the front of house lady and her girls were fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble. The food came in good time and was delicious. Meze sharing starter really tasty with the best flatbreads ever. Mains we both had steak and it was outstanding. The truffle fries the best I have ever had too. All in all a really fab dining experience all round. Hence to say will make sure we book next time. Thank you Fox and Hounds 💕💕💕💕xx

A party of 44 off us visited on 7th December for a family Christmas dinner. The whole experience was amazing. We had the festive menu. Catering for this large number cannot be easy but all the food was delicious, the staff were friendly and helpful and despite the storm outside, the marquee was lovely and warm and very festive.

Myself and my partner went to Fox and Hounds for Christmas lunch today (Sunday), hadn't been for a while but have always enjoyed going here, it didn't disapoint, on arrival we were greeted with a smile by a member of staff, first impressions are always important to me, we were shown to our table and were asked if we would drinks, we ordered our drinks and were offered the normal menu and Christmas fayre menu which we choose from, my partner had the turkey and mine was the vegetarian option which was the mushroom, pecan and spinach strudel, my meal was absolutely lovely and the strudel was perfect so compliments to the chef, food was hot and excellent service by attentive staff, my partner said the turkey meal was very good with nothing left on the plate, we had the orange sundae for dessert which rounded our meal off nicely followed by a coffee, atmosphere really was very relaxed and live music which was a bonus, cannot praise the staff enough and wilĺ definitely be back

Wow what a find this place was. Our friends chose the spot and nothing at all disappointed. The food was excellent, the ambience outstanding and the live singer was just perfect. Fish and chips came in 2 portion size's I chose the lighter option and believe me it was sufficient for a healthy appetite. Haloumi fries to start and no room for a sweet the portion size's where spot on. Highly recommend you try this pub just off the M6 at junction 18. Well done to all the staff involved in this great pub/ restaurant.

Arrived and was offered drinks immediately. Plenty of choice on the menu. I ordered a Mediterranean platter, but was told 20 minutes later that they didn't have half of the platter ingredients. They offered me more of one meat product instead. Disappointed but what came was adequate. Friendly server. Nice atmosphere.

Had lunch today at The Fox and Hounds today 28/10/24. Food was good when we eventually got it but service slow and poor. Waitresses forgot to put our pudding through the order system so we had to prod them for that and to add insult to injury we were chargedfor 3 courses instead of 2. Music far too loud so conversation difficult. Does it need to be blasting out in the toilets as well. Altogether a very unsatisfactory experience.

Great food, great atmosphere and great service. Highly recommend the Guinness pie. We arrived without booking late on a Saturday night. The staff did everything they could to fit in a table of 5. Live music was good but not too loud to interfere with conversations.

Was in the area 1 night whilst travelling... my first choice was The Slow & Easy pub for food and football. After they failed on both (closing the kitchen at 19.15) I decided to try the Fox & Hounds. So glad I did! I had the best meal (prawns with chilli, garlic and tomato followed by steak) and there was also a fantastic singer on whilst eating, definitely made my experience great and the food was superb, tasty and well presented. Next time I'm in the area I'll be back! Thanks guys 😁

I was proud to take my daughter and partner to the fox and hounds as I knew it would be good. I’ve been a few times before but this time it was even better (if that’s possible) All our meals were perfect in every way especially the puddings (which were to die for ). I’d happily recommend the FAH ,it’s a fantastic place with a vibrant happy staff which is a rare thing nowadays 10/10 guys keep it up .

We had a excellent stop off meal during a journey from Bristol to Scotland. Situated just off the M6 at Junction 18 the Fox & Hounds is ideal for a stop off and a much better alternative to the motorway services. We had an excellent meal with some delicious homemade burgers. Everything was reasonably priced, again MUCH better value than motorway services fast food. A special shout out to the staff who were all super friendly and genuinely warm & welcoming. The pub itself was also tastefully decorated with a big beer garden and play area for the kids. I'd absolutely go back again and would strongly recommend using the F&H as a stopping point if you're doing a long journey via the M6. There's even an Asda petrol station nearby for cheap fuel.

Becky (manager) and Jazz are always going out of their way to make it a great experience. All the other staff are also great I just seem to deal with these 2 more often. Food is always 5/5 no complaints

Fabulous lunch here with Family. We all chose different mains . Three had Prawn and Avocado starters One Soup. Then the Mains Fish and Chips with side of Broccoli. ThaiCurryJasmine Rice with hint of Lime. Pasta dish. Shredded Duck Leg dish. Desserts all good

Food lovely, really enjoyed the roast dinner plenty of gluten free options. Only issue is it took 20 minutes for out hot drinks to arrive and this was after us asking where they were and this was even after our food arrived

Good! A quiet weekday lunch, not crowded not empty, tasty food, cheerful staff. A slight wait for our meal to arrive, but I put that down to the kitchen having to cook something rather than microwave some packets. ----- We went back and, the staff being tolerant, ate a lot. Fortunately, the place was not too busy, but had sufficient customers and background music to feel very comfortable. The driers in the toilets are somewhat loud, but that goes hand in hand, ah ha, with both power and the chance to cup your hands together and try to reproduce tunes. I supply a waterfall image of the frequency spectrum and volume, I must say I'm looking forward to visiting again at the end of August.

Went to see friends who lived nearby in Middlewich and decided to go for Saturday lunch. Was booked on line and selected marquee as other areas supposedly fully booked!! Arrived and told marquee was closed, surprisingly plenty of tables in main bar area. Our vegetarian diner, who had made booking based on her previous experience there with vegetarian selections, was extremely disappointed to see there was only a single vegetarian option within the mains and especially as she was allergic to some of the ingredients. Staff said there were two salad options which they classed as mains!! Eventually picked a vegetarian sandwich which was not good. Can't believe a menu would be made with only one vegetarian option. Experience was soured by the options and staff member who when questioned that vegetarian dishes were identified by a 'v'. Not going to visit again.
