We visited this pub recently and had dinner. The young chef cooked our meal perfectly and we really enjoyed the hospitality. The drinks on offer were varied and served up by a very cheerful middle aged lady called Kat. Nothing was too much effort for her and she went out of her way to make sure our meal and drinks were exactly as we wanted. We will certainly be visiting again as the welcome we received from everyone there was as warm as we have ever received any where. We would recommend visiting.

Really enjoyed a nice quiet drink in this traditional pub. Real ale on tap. Large seating area. Not tried the restaurant so can't comment on the food. Service was lovely just a generally nice pub. Popped back in last night for the first time in a couple of years and the pub is looking good and the service was friendly. I took my 18 year old son with me and he was rightly asked for id which was no bother at all. I would definitely go back for a nice pint in this proper pub.

The service was good although they were busy. The only down side was the lady behind the bar seemed to suffer under the pressure. Both the male workers were polite and smiling at all times, but the landlady did not smile while serving, although when she was on the other side of the bar she was very aminable. Since this review the pub has changed hands. Steve and Kat are great hosts and makes everyone feel welcome. Yet to try the food, but it did look good.

I was the last customers to order lunch and still my chicken and leek pie was cooked dry! The season's vegetables accompanying my meal were just peas. What a disappointment! Still ordered a dessert though - went for the apple crumble for £9.50 - thinking at that price it was going to be something really nice and worth the "investment". It turned out to be like a flan, with a minimal amount of apple and hardly any crumble on it. What a disappointment! I complained, but the barman just shrugged his shoulders and said "I know, sorry." Shame he didn't tell me when I ordered!

YOHH is a traditional pub with high standards of quality and is spotless. Clean toilets, decent pint, lovely gin and other spirits, nice garden, special separate covered ciggy area for others and not affected by the affected! Traditional bars with a public bar with darts and pool and sports TV and a lovely lounge bar and a contemporary bar restaurant. Also great garden. it makes you wonder why it’s not packed every night and of course with some hard times and costs rising you can see why it’s difficult to to go to many pubs. However, we need to support our local pubs (use it or lose it come to mind) and this pub is worth visiting. Either as a solo visit or a couple of a family it’s perfect and their welcome has been fantastic to me.

I’m traditionally a huge fan of this pub. Staff have always been terrific, it’s cosy, welcoming, and most importantly…. they put a lot of effort and love into the pouring of a pint of Guinness. Being an Irish man this is incredibly important to me! I popped in for said drink of choice during the week where I was greeted with an older gentleman behind the bar with black hair and glasses. I’ve never seen him here before in my many visits to one of my favourite pubs in Worthing. I politely ordered a pint of Guinness to which he responded “Hat, off!” Confused, I replied, sorry? Again “HAT, OFF!” As he pointed at my grey beanie hat which I’ve worn for years. Confused again I instantly took off the hat as I watched him basically straight pour me a horrible offensive Guinness to which he slammed down in front of me with it spilling all over the sides. I couldn’t not ask why he had asked me to remove my hat as I explained I was sitting outside in the beer garden. His response was as he pointed to the corner of the bar “CCTV”. I walked away with my sloppy Guinness pouring all over my hands with a head the size of Everest enraged. I quickly finished it in anger and left the pub. To the gentleman who served me this pint. You are costing that wonderful pub money, reputation and good customers. Stay away from public facing roles. Thanks

At last I have found a real pub!!! The beer and ambience reminds me of days gone by when a publican could run a proper pub and keep an exceptional cellar. Not to mention the food which I have to say reminded me of good home cooking. I was greeted by the landlord Del and his good lady Carol who served me a perfect pint of ale. I was soon chatting to the locals that were also very friendly and welcoming. The place is absolutely spotless and is obviously well looked after. It has a dining area and a lovely enclosed garden with parasols tables and chairs with an extensive car park. The pub is hidden away in the back streets of Worthing but its definitely worth visiting! I am reliably informed that this is the best kept pub in the South for this brewery! No wonder! " I'll be back " as a certain actor said. What a lovely way to wind away a day.

Be very wary of visiting the Ye Olde House at Home, they operate a stealth parking fine system (very poor signage), the car park they allege is for its regular customers. Drinks £ 10.00 pounds - Parking fine £ 60.00 pounds. The pub has good kerb appeal but it is not reflected internally, beer is average.

Had been looking for somewhere for lunch on a Monday afternoon that would accommodate 3 people and a dog. Not only were we welcomed into the bar, they were especially welcoming to our dog and special attention paid to ensure our canine companion was relaxed and watered. Had heard really good things about this pub. Visited today with my husband and son. As I am still breastfeeding and my son is milk intolerant I asked about various items on the menu. First, the fish finger sandwich, the waitress asked the chef and he said the batter contained milk. Second, the steak sandwich in ciabatta, the waitress said this would be fine but would be served in regular bread (states ciabatta on the menu) so I decided I wouldn’t have this. Thirdly, the breaded scampi, she said this was battered so would contain milk (menu stated breaded). Finally I gave in and said I’d have the vegan burger as surely this would not contain milk. While I went to change my son’s nappy she spoke to my husband and said hopefully the burger would be ok for me, she wasn’t sure about what was in the bun. I didn’t like the idea of ‘hopefully’ so my husband went to the bar and asked to cancel the food and pay for our drinks. The only response from the landlady was ‘£1.40’. Also, was told by the waitress there were no baby changing facilities so had to change him on the ground in the corridor of the toilets. The chef had to access the office and step over him. The pub needs to have more information available for its staff on food allergies/intolerances and the landlady’s attitude needs some work.

You get up to £100 fine for using this pub car park if you don't put your reg in a machine. If you are a visitor to the area and have no expectation of pub car parks having any charge you will come unstuck grand style here. The staff don't raise your awareness even though they were not busy, and there is no notice at the bar where everyone would see it, we didn't see where the machine was. The landlady was very unhelpful, condescending and sarcastic when I phoned her about the fine. We were customers/patrons and had a receipt for the meal but we were still fined. Be very careful to hunt out the machine to add your reg number if you must go here otherwise it will be a very expensive visit

Visited this pub a lot as its my local and in the 30 years Ive been going there on and off Ive never been disappointed in my choice of drink or food. You're always made to feel welcome at YOHAH.The menu is brilliant and there is something for everyone. I love their steaks and their hunters chicken. I was there last weekend and had a gorgeous roast. Last night I decided to go for the lamb shank with mashed potato and a medley of green veg and a red wine and rosemary gravy(that's what the menu said). It duly arrived and looked lovely. There was a lot of mashed potato (too much for me I have to say) but sadly it luke warm. The medley of green veg turned out to be just peas and they were warm too. The lamb shank was cooked to perfection as it fell off the bone when a fork was inserted into it. All was going ok until I tasted the gravy. As lovely as it looked it was vinegary. Now I am a red wine drinker usually but had a cider last night so I thought it could be my taste buds playing up but 2 other people tasted it too and they both agreed it was vinegary( neither of them drink red wine by the way). I tried to carry on but found I couldn't as the red wine and rosemary gravy was at the bottom of the plate with the mash and peas & lamb shank sitting on it. The mashed potato was a little too dry to eat on its own and a lot of the peas were covered in the jus so I couldn't actually pick and continue, so I stopped having eaten maybe a third of my dinner. I know I should have said something but by then it was too late to order something else as all my palate could only taste vinegar. I did tell the barmaid/waitress as she cleared down and she apologised and said she would let the chef. I hope she did as having been in the catering industry for a number of years I always think it is better to know than to not know. I may have been disappointed in my choice but it certainly wont stop me going back...ever.
