Rude staff, left waiting for a long time, place is not clean. Would never visit again much nicer places nearby.

We booked for Christmas Day dinner. This was meant to be a real treat for us, 2 adults and 2 children and the first time we have had Christmas dinner out. We booked well in advance and paid the £10 per head ‘deposit’ in cash. We also called up in advance, as requested, to provide our food order from the Christmas Day menu. Price for adults was advertised at £55 and for children £25. I asked if it was a different menu for children twice, but was told they could cook something ‘off menu’ if we wanted, however the kids like a Christmas dinner so they chose the menu. We had a 1pm sitting which was fortunate as there hadn’t been anyone on our table prior. The system was strange, we had to queue up and order drinks at the till and add to our table tab to settle at the end, but we also had to go up and queue at the till to tell them when we were ready for food… Sittings were 2 hours and we didn’t get a starter until almost 2pm, starters were great. At this point, staff were pretty chilled and friendly. After starters we waited and waited and waited.. the meals finally arrived and some didn’t have the same veg, or any Yorkshires etc so we split between us as it was clear the staff were now under pressure. Approaching 3pm the next sittings were arriving to a big queue, we had only just finished our mains and had yet to queue up (in the now massive queues of people settling bills) to order our puddings. We managed to do it via a staff member who was lovely, but very overwhelmed. More waiting and we then gave up and asked for it to be packaged up so we could take it home. The people waiting for our table were put ‘temporarily’ on the table in front of us and were continually looking over to check our ‘progress’ which was quite uncomfortable. Puddings finally came wrapped up and I sent my family outside while I queued to settle the bill. After a long wait I was overcharged by £90 which took a long time to sort out. I was incorrectly charged 4 adults as opposed to 2 adults and 2 children and then told that the ‘deposit’ (paid in advance) is not a deposit but a ‘holding fee’ and does not come off the bill! I mentioned that this was not made clear and a deposit is in fact a part payment. I really felt for the person taking payment as clearly I wasn’t the only person with bill issues. This was not a cheap meal and I had saved for the total cost, so to find additional charges at the end was quite disappointing and not a conversation I wanted to be having Christmas Day, especially with the hard working staff member who was facing lots of disappointed people at the till. All in all a very expensive chaotic Christmas meal that left us disappointed carrying home the last of it in takeaway containers. Although some people didn’t actually get to eat at all so I feel for them especially.

Booked for a family Christmas meal 10 of us, arrived at 4:45pm for 5pm sit down, had to wait half hour to be seated. Our table wasn’t laid, table was sticky, no cutlery or serviettes or Christmas crackers that we could see had been on previous tables. Starters came out, Camembert was ok, as were the prawns but the parsnip soup was utterly foul tasted of salt and was lumpy, next four turkey dinners were served, 10 mins later we call a waitress over who gets the manager as we ask where the rest of our dinners are and the fact these four dinners were now cold! Manager realised that we had been given another tables dinners who were also waiting! These were taken and about 15 mins later dinners were finally served, but they were awful, rock hard black potatoes, burnt parsnips and carrots, the meat tasted like dry ham, and it was cold. The puddings weren’t much better, the whole experience was very disappointing! And to top it off my partner has been throwing up and I can only help but think it was Christmas dinner at Marine Gardens! I would avoid at all costs!!!

Had Christmas dinner on Christmas day. Fantastic staff, so hard working and accommodating. It felt like a big family Christmas dinner. Would thoroughly recommend it to anyone for next Christmas.

Lovely place for a coffee or to have something to eat. Very good choice on the menu to choose from. Nice atmosphere and the staff are always nice. Good place to go all year.

We stop here occasionally for a coffee and, depending on the weather, sit inside or outside with our dog in this very dog friendly cafe/restaurant. Today we had a large and tasty cheese straw because disappointingly, and unusually, they had no fruit scones. Friendly, efficient service and good coffee in pleasant surroundings. Nearly always busy and a good place to have a Sunday roast lunch.

Visited recently for morning coffee with my 2 year old granddaughter. We were made very welcome and she loved playing with the toys! Drinks were delicious,staff are welcoming

Had to ask for my table to be wiped. My jacket potato was tepid not piping hot. Dogs barking inside restaurant.. not great experience. Young guy with tray was polite. Service was good, waitresses need to be bit more on the ball. 3 stars from me

the staff, besides being unprofessional, don't even dispose of the dishes you have to eat, but next to the dirty dishes that are disgusting. They have nothing on their heads, their hair hangs in their food, so they are disgusting

Staff were all lovely, all very kind but overpriced, bland food. No one finished their meal. The toilet was frightening, really grubby. Disappointing visit. Shame, prime location but bit of a let down.

Small English breakfast was lovely, thought about the large, glad i didn't go for it, more than enough!

My son attended a cooking evening as part of his beavers group, they had great fun and the staff were so kind and accommodating for the children. He came home with a huge pepperoni pizza that tasted great and was so proud that he had the chance to make it all himself!

It's alright this place. Couldn't fault it, but didn't find it a massive rave either. Just an average cafe with gardens to enjoy nearby.

The cafe is set in Marine Park gardens and they are kept immaculatley. It is good for a light lunch and portions are generous. A good place to meet with friends, very relaxed atmosphere

Overall a very good restaurant/tea room in a pleasant location. Very relaxed and ideal for families. We only tried tea, cake and a sandwich but seemed to be a good, wide selection of main meals too. The indoor space is a little functional and lacking character but the location makes up for it. Not for taking your date too but good for your family!

What a gem. Delicious home made food, large portions, exceptional value. Children, dogs welcome. Toys provided as well as z aotnd bacon. Heavenly

Always relaxing area with good food and coffee

Today should have been an enjoyable lunch with my friend instead we felt rushed. Two members of staff hovering over the outside tables where we were sitting. As soon as my friend had finished, her plate was taken a minute later someone came to take our glasses, while I'm still eating. Staff totally ruined the experience for us. It's all about bums on seats clearly.

Nice restaurant to dine at in Worthing next to the bowling green. Have dined here a few times now. The food is reasonably priced and well presented. Recommended.

Great to pop into for coffee and cake

A break for a vintage coach run with up to 30 people booked in advance. Good service, the tables had been reserved for us, and some even had a cooked breakfast. Very efficient and friendly

Prawns & Egg pasta Beef pie are my top 2 favourite dishes from marine garden. All of them are so unique specially prawns and Egg pasta Just absolutely mouthwatering and I can tell the team here are proud of what they do, The chefs work hard to good food. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended

First visit for us but taken by friends who live locally & know this restaurant. One all day breakfast, one Coronation Chicken Sandwich & one wrap all with tea. Popular including some Dad's being treated for Father's Day. However food came quickly & we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Staff were friendly and efficient.

Flat white Small breakfast Place is nice and airy, plenty of parking. Sit and watch the bowls. They didn't let me switch one of the items which was a first for me. The fried bread was surprisingly nice. The flat white was more a milky latte. Friendly staff, but I wasn't keen on the table, pretty dirty and sticky to the touch. They had these placemats which seemed to have bits of food stuck in it from previous meals.

Great place to grab a bite to eat. It wasn't overly busy when I went but service felt a little slow because you had to wait for your drinks in the same place you ordered so it got a little bunched up. Lovely atmosphere though, perfect for a stop off when you're enjoying the beach.

A quick snack before heading back home after watching Worthing 10 k run. A lovely morning.

I ordered a simple cheese and spring onion toastie. It was overloaded with cheese and hardly any spring onion. The bread was rock solid and inedible. Very disappointing on a lovely trip out to the seaside. Ps the ice cream we bought on the way out was not cold enough, the freezer needs turning up a few notches. Pleasant staff, nice decor, scruffy toilet, one only and outside space at the rear dreary. Tea perfect.

The Stake was a little stringy and a little under cooked when we asked for medium. They did take it back to cook it some more. Also the Risotto was somewhat salty.

During my initial visit to this establishment accompanied by a gentleman with specific accessibility requirements, I found the service to be exceptionally accommodating. The staff graciously facilitated a table change upon discovering that some tables were not suitable for wheelchair accessibility. Additionally, they were adept at fulfilling special requests regarding dietary restrictions, particularly with salt guidelines. I was thoroughly impressed by their attentiveness. Moreover, when a minor miscommunication occurred with our food order, they promptly rectified the situation and even offered compensation, surpassing the standards of any other restaurant I have frequented.

Go here every time I come to worthing. Food is so good and not bad value!

Debbie the manager was in extra early this Mothering Sunday to ensure everyone had a special day. She was so friendly and very sweet making sure we had the best breakfast. Her staff are polite and friendly and we couldn’t recommend her enough ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We have not been for a while so decided to go for Sunday lunch . Husband had roast beef. Sadly very poor quality, water logged red cabbage & courgettes, tough Yorkshire pudding. Very disappointing. I went for the fish pie & seasonal veg. Sadly what I got was extremely soggy courgettes, peas & a cold fish pie. I quietly returned the meal saying it was cold and asked them to remove the courgettes. The fish pie & peas were then microwaved so hot it was impossible to eat. The cook seemed very disgruntled. Although the waitress was very apologetic sadly we will not be returning.

We eat here regularly for week day lunch & breakfast. So we thought we’d try the roast, sadly it was a disappointment. Poor quality vegetables & very bland. Also not very hot. Dispute our disappointment the place was packed, maybe best to avoid the Roast. It was also extremely noisy dogs barking. I wish they’d ditch the terrible table mats, apart from being awkward, they can’t be wiped over for a good clean.

Love it here. Very friendly staff and child friendly too. Lots of games for them play as well.

Food is pretty decent. Even some nice vegan options. Surrounding gardens are a good view from the big windows.

I've been here a few times and overall I feel positive about it, but today's visit was disappointing. I ordered quiche and chips. The quiche allegedly was broccoli and stilton. It turned out to be two poor quality party sized quiches the type you buy at Iceland and they were soggy and tasteless. The chips that came with it were hard, over cooked and of similar poor quality. My companion who had wanted chilli but was told it had sold out, had a jacket with tuna mayonnaise. She also thought that her meal contained cheap ingredients and was poor quality. Overall a disappointing experience.

The place is very accessible but noisy. One can eat outside when weather is favourable. I had the special xmas burger. It was packed with lots of thin slices of turkey but was badly let down by the bun, which felt & tasted decidedly stale. As my wife quite liked hers, we went for lunch again & with granddaughters, We had the soup - it was good + nice bread. So we went a 3rd time for fish & chip lunch. Disaster poor fish, terrible chips & the always too noisy place was packed with dogs & some barking continually.

Ideal location. Parking more than decent, quantity of food was impressive, hot chocolate ranks highly, I will come back but the sausages don’t seem fantastic but everything else is 5 stars !! Thank you

We've visited here in the summer before but today came in for lunch on a very drizzly Saturday - it was packed despite the weather. Had an all day breakfast which was freshly cooked, very tasty and quickly delivered despite the amount of customers. Staff are very friendly and helpful so we'll worth a visit come rain or shine.

Really lovely restaurant/cafe with nice views. Close to the sea so it is always nice to call in after a stroll along the seafront.

Called in 29th November with two close friends had Scampi, fish and chips and quiche twice. The meals were fantastic and presented beautifully. It was nice and warm in there as well. Thank you marine Gardens cafe for a lovely meal and it was at a fair price.

Came in this morning just for a coffee and a chat with one of the ladys I look after doing my job as a support worker locally and we love the freindley service and its looking like a winter wonderland now with Christmas just around the corner we'll worth a visit so freindley

Took all the family for lunch today, all the food was tasty and the atmosphere was lovely. It's spacious and airy and relaxing too.

We went late I the day for coffee, so very few cakes or snacks left. Service was good. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Can't say anything about mels, but plenty of people dine there so must be ok

Having just moved in from Durrington to nearby we thought we would walk along for breakfast. There was not enough staff. Despite there only being 5 people in front of us we waited 15 mins to order. We both ordered a sausage and egg baguette.When it eventually turned up it was disappointing to look at, and eat. The baguette was so narrow the sausage cut in half and the egg was falling out of each half of the baguette. The baguette was clearly a part baked, and it was only part baked. It was soft and doughy inside and not brown at all on the outside. The sausage was a cheap nasty mushy sausage. All peppery with no meat texture. The eggs were perfectly cooked, with nice bright yellow yolks. Neither my wife or I finished it, and left very disappointed. We all know prices are going up, but don’t serve nasty sausages, you can get some half decent ones, even if it means the cost rises slightly, as at least then the customer will go away happy, and likely to return.

I love it there but on a bank holiday it was heaving and a cue nearly to the end to order food. But once done it was lovely as always

Have used this cafe/restaurant for years when visiting Worthing, 3 or 4 times a year. It's generally very good, clean, bright, friendly and the food has been good value. Sunday lunch was brilliant. It always seemed delicious and fresh, to the degree that they would sometimes sell out. Today we were disappointed. The Sunday lunch seemed to have been warmed up from the deep freeze. The potatoes were like leather and it all seemed rather flavourless. Shame, it was always so good. Hopefully, it will be again.

Excellent service. Food delicious and large helpings particularly the sponge puddings! We had table of 4 and will be back soon

After sending my toast, bacon and poached eggs back as the egg yolks were hard, my replacement meal was the original bacon, toast and two new eggs. My husband’s all day breakfast was totally overcooked but he was hungry so didn’t complain. My two visits previously was with friends when two of us ordered quiche when two other meals arrived we were then told no quiche available. Two friends started eating their meal ours turned up 20 minutes later and was not very nice. You have to queue to order and pay which is a pain. The only other time was as we had a voucher resulting from complaining about the quiche incident and that was pretty awful. I did have quiche this time it should have come with coleslaw and didn’t but didn’t mention it. Sorry Marine Gardens we won’t be returning

This is my favourite little place in Worthing. Perfect for a pit stop to grab an ice cream or even better to go with the family and have a proper tasty lunch. Well recommended to all.
