Great staff within the garden centre, helpful and friendly. The cafe is hit and miss with grumpy staff and despite getting there in time for the cooked break, by the time I was served at 11.35 I was told we could not have one! Not very helpful or accommodating despite our being regular customers.

Today we popped into Wymondham Garden Centre for a spontaneous meet up with friends. We went into the cafe, met by a lovely young girl called Chelsea. She was very knowledgeable about the lunch time selection and treats. We opted for a prawn sandwich on granary and a fruit scone. Despite how busy the cafe was the service was excellent. Really friendly place. Quick efficient service and tasty wholesome food. Thank you Chelsea, your knowledge helped us choose a fabulous lunch.

Whilst basically it was okay I felt it was pricey by comparison with other venues in the town and I always judge a breakfast by the temperature of the beans . Luke warm at best. I just wanted to praise this garden centre. It was my very first visit, just moved to the area, thought I would give it a look. I did not have anything to eat, although what was on the counter looked appealing and was suitably covered, I just had a coffee, e ought to me by a very pleasant member of staff. I fed the menu, it looks well balanced with various options of food and drinks. I then decided to look round, well what a wonderful range of items, ranging from well looked after plants and shrubs, to candles and plenty of interior items suitable for anyone to decorate their homes. I will certainly visit regularly and indeed next time will have to try something to eat. I moved from near the Aylsham garden centre, which the same owners as here have taken over,I can now see why they are successful. Keep up the good work.

I have a severe allergy to dairy and mild allergies to peanuts, sesame seeds and kiwi. I visited 2 times, one with family and one with just my husband and I. The first time was fantastic, we had a lovely breakfast with my allergies perfectly handled by a friendly staff member; who I shall refer to as the younger girl. She was particularly good. My second visit wasn’t so good. I was served by an older lady with grey hair. I explained my allergies to her and the meal I wanted to order for my husband first, we both follow a dairy free diet, she went and checked with the chef whether it would be okay and she came back and said it would be. I then proceeded to tell her about my meal and she seemed annoyed that she had to check that it was okay again and said something like, ‘Are you ordering both of these?’ She then didn’t seem to check as thoroughly as the first time and then came back and said it was fine. She then asked me whether I could have eggs, which obviously I can because eggs come out of a chicken not a cow. This didn’t fill me with confidence, but I proceeded because she did check with the chef. During serving me the older lady was prompted on the correct way of inputting allergies into the system for an order by the younger girl. The older lady seemed a bit miffed about being told what to do. After having my meal, which to be fair was very nice, I started to have a reaction which was mild, but my reactions don’t stop, they tend to build until I need to go to a hospital, so I had to leave quickly to get my medication. I checked my receipt on the way home and my husband’s meal had been put through as gluten free, so she obviously had no idea about allergies. All in all, a bad experience the second time, a good experience the first. Staffing is everything.

Visit here quite often either with family or friends for meals and snacks. I find the food and service in the restaurant is good, I was disappointed to find that the few indoor tables located just outside the restaurant that were previously dog friendly have now been removed, I know we can sit outside with our little doggie but as the weather is getting cooler now, this is no longer going to be an option so a dog walk and coffee stop here may no longer be on the cards, such a shame.I have to say that the biggest downside at this garden centre and one which could genuinely put me off from visiting is the very sour faced lady who regularly mans the till and never ever seems able to smile or even exchange any pleasantries whatsoever! I feel that she really should not be doing such a job if she really dislikes it so much I was very close to telling her so today!

I had been highly recommended to visit by a friend so decided to give it a go. The cakes looked lovely but decided to go for a Full English Breakfast. We sat outside and the food arrived swiftly. I thought the bacon looked odd but when I tasted it it was obviously rotten. I had to spit it out. Both our plates were swimming in grease and the mushrooms were obviously way beyond best too. To top it off within a few minutes of getting the food the cesspit was starting to get emptied without any warning to customers seated outside. Obviously the staff were warned as they closed the doors and windows. Thankfully I wasn’t feeling much like eating the rotten food anyway and the stench was making me wretch so we left. Only to find my stomach rejecting what little food I had eaten later in the day. Not a good experience from start to finish. To be honest the apathetic teenage staff should have sent the alarm bells ringing from the start. I feel sick just thinking about the whole experience.

As we left one member of staff did say there had been a miss understanding and we could have a seat, unfortunately I was quite upset, as I felt like a 2nd class person. Decided to visit this garden centre for breakfast whilst visiting our son and family. We have been before on a previous visit and as we don’t live locally we can see big changes every time we come. However this time was a great disappointment all round, last time I left a review on here saying I was unhappy not be able to have poached eggs on a cooked breakfast and received a reply back saying that on my next visit poached eggs would be on the menu but sadly they were not! The only eggs being served were fried not even scrambled were available and at the time we ordered the garden centre coffee shop was not busy as all! The other members of the family had cooked breakfasts but they were not overly impressed with the overcooked hard fried eggs, I had ordered a toasted tea cake and nearly gave up on it after half an hour wait, apparently they had forgotten it! By the time we left the queue to order was very long and the girl serving was apologising to people waiting saying they only have one till available to put orders through! If you choose to expand as you are doing then surely you should also put in more steps to help your customers such as extra order points and a more flexible menu. I heard someone else asking about vegetarian breakfast options to be told the only thing that could be done was to omit the bacon and sausage and double up on the other items i.e fried eggs, mushrooms etc. Sadly next time we come on a visit we will not be returning to this garden centre but will pay Notcutts a visit as they are always happy to swap items and the good quality breakfast they serve is in fact cheaper!

Unfortunately there was little left to choose from on the menu when it was our turn to be served. Our first two options were sold out. We left and went elsewhere. A word to the manager of the cafe, please let your queuing customers know when something has run out. They can then make a decision on what else to choose or to go elsewhere. This garden centre is expanding and improving each time I go, having need to pop into Wymondham for an opticians appointment on a chilly February Saturday morning with some time to kill we decided a coffee and sausage roll on the way would be a good start to the day. We were not disappointed the cafe was warm and the staff were welcoming and pleasant. The breakfasts looked generous and inviting but as we had lunch plans for later two lattes and sausage rolls were decided on. They were excellent warm served with some onion chutney the delicious crumbly pastry complemented the good quality meat filling. We both considered the scones and variety of cakes my wife a diabetic choose a cheese scone I tackled a generous slice of coffee and walnut cake we were both pleased with our choices which had been difficult to make from the wide selection of tasty looking treats available. We will certainly be back. If you are this way give it a try with the effort they are making they deserve to succeed.

As it was the Friday before Christmas and we were a bit earlier we decided to have a full English. It certainly was a plateful of tasty quality products that all in our group enjoyed. The coffee was of good quality, but it could have; as with many establishments; been hotter. If you pick the right tables you have plenty of room and good views of the centre and shop. A reasonable garden centre but this cafe was very poor in my opinion. My clotted cream tea had a dry, floury scone, a 28g portion of cream (hardly enough for 1 side of the scone), 1 pat of butter per scone and barely enough milk for 1 cuppa. We had to ask for more. Bearing in mind that Cornish clotted cream retails in a nearby store at £1.68 for 150g it was very poor value. My wife was told there was only filter coffee from 4.00pm as they were cleaning the 'coffee machine'. They didn't have a large range of teas. The crockery was very nice which didn't go far enough to make up for the fact the staff were cold and unwelcoming! Overall, a very poor effort which will not see me going back again.

Visited the newly improved garden centre on Sunday morning for breakfast whilst visiting family in Wymondham. The last time we were here was just before Christmas so we saw a big change. The breakfasts were lovely, freshly cooked and good value, my only gripe was the fact that as I try to eat a healthy diet poached eggs were not an option. We go out for breakfast usually to garden centres on a regular basis and whilst this breakfast was very good, the choice options were quite limited. Coffee was very good and my little granddaughter certainly enjoyed her babycino! The shop is lovely with lots to see, very good for gifts, good selection of bird food, fresh eggs for sale too. We have been passing this garden centre for ages but after picking up something from Waitrose and having a bit of time on our hand just tried it by chance. Pulling into the car park it does not look much but once through the doors we were well impressed. We understand it has recently had a makeover. The shop was well stocked and the plant area was very impressive and well laid out. The only downside was the restaurant; we decided to only have a coffee as we thought the menu was a bit over priced. The coffee came in small cups which again we thought was quite highly priced compared with other centres we visit. We sat outside on their patio area which could be made a nice area however at that time it also doubled as a parking place for plant trolleys.

My husband and I have had our lunch nearly every week since the cafe opened, but have to say now that we were very disappointed yesterday with our meal. We had toasted cheese and onion sandwiches one of which only had the slightest smear of cheese and no onion. We have also noticed lately the choice of cakes has been reduced and since the 'Winter Warmers' finished, which were very good value, there has been less choice of 'specials' and never the burger which is advertised on the website and which we had only once right at the beginning. I notice there have been a couple of reviews saying there is not much vegetarian choice, all I can say is that there is plenty of salad which seems to be a staple with just about every meal and I agree with the comment that the coleslaw is watery and tasteless. In fairness the young ladies who serve are very polite, quick and helpful, but as the kitchen seems to have deteriorated, we will be eating elsewhere in future.

We went to the Garden Centre about mid-morning, so we met the rush hour! We chose the small breakfast, with tea, and paid about £5 each for it. I have paid that elsewhere for a piece of pre-cooked bacon an egg and an apology of beans, and, frankly, wasn't expecting much else. We were served cheerfully and promptly, issued with cutlery, tea, cups and saucers and so on, and easily found a table. The small kitchen was busily turning out platefuls of breakfasts, filled rolls, salads and it wasn't too long before ours arrived. Not expecting much, I was truly surprised to see, basically, one of everything in front of me (apparently the Large is two of everything). Clearly it was all freshly prepared to order, and tasted like it - fresh, good ingredients, and just what the Doctor had ordered me away from. In all it was good food, and value for money. The tea, by the way, is made using proper Catering tea bags. This means you get a great flavour, but you may want to check on it if you like yours on the pale side.

Thought we would give this a visit as was convenient at the time, but would not bother again.

Wonderful. Welcoming staff. Clean and bright ( the restaurant, AND the staff ), and tables wiped between customers. Stunned at being offered cooked meal and sweet for the same or lower price as most garden centre restaurants charge for the meal alone. A teapot full to the brim and not a half-pot as most places these days, and a free top-up. Fast service from polite staff. Delicious home-cooked meals. Such a change from other over-priced local garden centre cafes. An absolute pleasure to come here. A five-star rating really doesn't do it justice.

Definitely one to avoid now, had many lovely visits with previous owners, the welcome was poor, staff not interested, food average, restaurant was cold, staff kept leaving doors open, no thank you or goodbye, it’s fair to say our special family occasion was extremely disappointing, we will not return or recommend.

I’ve read some reviews of barnham broom. I can’t believe anyone would give it a 5 star rating. Stayed there two nites with friends, We ate at the brasserie on the first day, three starters were sent back and because they were so bad(dried and rubbery) we ordered crab cakes instead, Two had pieces of shell to them. As of mains. Duck cooked ok but orange sauce brown tasteless sludge. Vegetables over cooked. Hashed potatoes square stodgy block. The main that was of reasonable taste was the canalone. Did’nt bother with pudding as you might of guessed. Wine overpriced(39.95 for an ordinary Prosecco). As for the sports bar. It was so bad I haven’t time to write everything. Service was terrible.orders wrong. Food out at different times.Worst was none tasted halfway decent. I found it difficult to give the place one star. I will go back to play golf as both courses good, especially the valley course but will eat and drink somewhere else.shame as setting and views lovely. .
