Cosy village pub just outside of Norwich. We had a Sunday roast and it was delicious. Although the apple crumble we got just after was bit of a disappointment. The waiters were overall really nice but the cashier was quite rude and acted like he saw an alien when we wanted to split the bill at the end. I am guessing it’s not a common practice! Overall would definitely visit again as it was a lovely atmosphere and good food.

We came here for a late'ish Sunday lunch. We'd never been here. We were welcomed and shown to our table by a very polite young man and our waiter was a similarly 16 year old young lady who has a lovely smile and looked after us wonderfully. We had 2 x nut roasts, one lamb roast and one pork roast. All were very nicely cooked. The only criticism was that the roast potatoes weren't very "roasted" We'll be back. Thank you for a nice lunch🫶🙌

Wanted to try somewhere new for Sunday lunch and after researching came across this pub. Lovely pub warm and welcoming. Was very busy but woman working behind bar was friendly and efficient despite being the only one working behind bar. She said they were one member of staff down. I had the lamb, my mum the beef and she said best roast she had, and she's hard to please. Lamb was tender my meal was £13 very reasonable. I had read reviews where it said car park was big, I would say it holds 15 cars and on a busy Sunday may be a little awkward to find a space. Will be back.

Sunday Lunch here Today was very good, i had leg of lamb & my partner had topside of beef, both were deliciously tender & full of flavour, there was a variety of fresh vegetable's cooked to perfection with roast potatoes & Yorkshire pudding. A really good idea was that you could order a larger meal for an extra £2 or a smaller one for £1 less. All the serving staff were very pleasant, this is somewhere i am happy to recommend.

SOULESS!! Staying locally in Whitlingham and expected to find a bustling pub in an affluent area, buzzing on a Saturday night. Nope. A handful of tables eating and a grumpy bartender. Four double house gin and tonic over £30 - garnish was a slice of lemon. Much better experience up the hill at Crown Point. Up your game!

We had a roast dinner here and it was absolutely delicious 😋 the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Added bonus there is a park directly opposite so my little boy could go & play whilst we waited for our food. The hanging baskets on the front of the pub were beautiful. I'd say this was a mediocre experience. Albeit the drinks were fine as was the service it certainly felt like we paid for more than fine. From the outside, the pub looked stunning. Nestled in the beautiful village I expected a goldmine of good food and drink. It was all a bit underwhelming. So so drinks but priced like something special. An ultimately disappointing experience in what could be something incredible. Redwell brewery up the road are so much better.

After a lovely walk in the Trowse area, my friend and I stopped at The White Horse pub for lunch. There was a good selection on the menu including an every day roast!! A good selection of starters and desserts as well. We actually only needed a light bite and my friend had a jacket potato with cheese and beans (£8) which also came with a salad garnish and was cooked just right. I had the chicken salad with lime and coriander dressing (£9) which was really tasty and a good sized portion. The pub is traditional and atmospheric with plenty of seating for meals or just a drink. There is an outside seating area where we sat as it was a really hot day. The car park is a good size with plenty of parking. The also have a large function room available for hire for parties or social gatherings. The staff were friendly and service was really good, we didn't have to wait long for our food. A good place to go for a meal or drink if you want to escape from the busyness of the City.

17 may 2023. 1800. walked in and picked up two menus from the bar, the waitress ( pony tail ,dark hair) walked passed us three times without speaking, looked at us twice from behind the bar and decided to leave us sitting there in an almost empty pub, we walked out after 25 minutes. Lack of basic customer service was staggering, apparently the food is nice and good value . (edited to reflect owners response. the person i was with had been at least 6 times in the last year and had table service at all times, you must realise thats what you do, or maybe you dont.) I won't be coming back , my first attempt at food in the evening a few weeks earlier was another failed attempt, " no food tonight, no staff". Its too much like hard work to bother.

Pub was empty, we explained that a family member was delayed by 10 mins, this was at 7.30. Were told text them & get their order. Ordered food which was mediocre, We were made to leave at 10pm, even though we explained that our taxi would arrive in 10 mins. It was pouring with rain & we were two women on our own, made to stand in the pouring rain whilst we waited for our taxi. Outrageous treatment and I would advise anybody to avoid this awful establishment & spend your money elsewhere

Bo oked a table for 6 but ended up with about 10 of us going. Found a couple of tables outside and were told we needed to order from the bar, which was fine. Went to the bar and the barman was not happy about this. Complained that we were later than we said although we were on time - table had been booked for 7.40 and was now 7.55 as we had been getting settled and getting drinks. We were made to feel like we were a nuisance for ordering food. Most of the party ordered food but I had not yet decided on what I wanted. Returned to the bar at 8.20 to be told I couldn’t order food as the kitchen was closed! The barman even rolled his eyes at me. So had to sit under the sign that said food was served until 9 watching the rest of my party eat! Really shocked at how miserable and rude the barman was. Shame because I have been here many times with my social group but won’t be returning again. Those that did eat said the food was good.

A traditional English pub in the small village of Trowse Newton, a short drive south of Norwich. Serving commercial and local beers, it has seating outside the front; although worth noting it is close to the road, which is not a main road but can get busy. There is also a nice beer garden with TV screens for sporting events at the back, and plants sold in the car park at the back which has about 15 spaces. On a recent visit the staff were lovely and the service and food were both excellent. Meals are on average £9-10 with vegetarian and vegan options. The ploughmans and ceasar salad were fresh and generous portions, and the vegan Panang Curry delicious!!

I telephoned to check if dogs were welcome, and they were! We visited after a muddy trip to the woods. The staff were super accommodating and welcoming. The dog was provided with water and biscuits and we ordered the most delicious cakes, panini and hot chocolate. Unfortunately we did muddy up where we were sitting a bit but we were reassured this was absolutely not a problem. We will definitely be returning. Really lovely visit.

I thought afternoon tea here would be something special to celebrate a birthday but unfortunately it wasn't. The table we were allocated was right next to the counter where people stood drinking, chatting and paying (I believe they might have been staff from the business centre). When I commented on this to a member of staff she said they would soon be gone, but then more came and stood there for some considerable time. The table was undecorated and the teapot and cups plain. One of the teaspoons was dirty and had to be replaced. There was nothing special about it whatsoever. It was just like being in a cafe which you go in for just a coffee. Not afternoon tea special at all. It was more expensive than many in the Norwich area so I thought the experience would be reflected in the price. But it clearly wasn't. The food was nice, nothing special, only 2 different filling in the sandwiches. The scones were good, the cakes ok, but again nothing special. The staff were busy but quite friendly. I would not recommend The Orangery for an afternoon tea experience. I came away feeling very let down and disappointed from what I thought was going to be an enjoyable afternoon.
