Good ale joey Holt's good atmosphere

Recently changed management, at first the beer was excellent usual, but unfortunately new staff member is either not trained up to pull pints or doesn't care. Shame used to go in regularly as the beer was first class, unless this problem is rectified won't be 🤔😒😒

Reasonable priced food and drinks, friendly and helpful staff, clean and tidy place.

What a nice place. The manager Kelsey was amazing. She’s so friendly and lovely welcoming us in her pub. The atmosphere was great, lot of people around which were all friendly. Overall a great place! Definitely recommend popping by for a drink and a good time.

Only have had drinks here ..big fan of Holts especially the Trailblazer stout..and they keep a good pint👍🍺

Great place to watch midday football

Really great night out. Inside of pub is beautiful and the drinks are great. I had 2 rounds of trailblaizer shots and what the guy behind the bar (I think his name is Dylan) called a death shot. He personally really made my night. Will be visiting again with my mates.

Went in here on a Friday Night . Was great until the load music started but have to say the beer was spot on .

Just a wonderful culture, chilled out and calm, and when problem individuals come in they are not able to get a rise out of staff or customers, so they're forced to give up and leave... The staff fully will accept you as a regular if you're not problematic, and you'll never feel an outsider

Really friendly landlord. Had a great chat today about the pizza ovens (I'm a geek). Always a cracking pint and very reasonably priced. Possibly the best pub in Bury Town centre! 5*!

Dec 2022: Having seen many changes over the years, Wyldes is still a great bar in the heart of Bury. Joseph Holt's craft ale on tap and dog friendly!

Friendly service, clean tables and a relaxing atmosphere. They have televisions for the sport and they play music. The drink was cheap and they do an offer on pizzas. It was very much similar to a weatherspoons pizza but in a good way. There was no grease dripping off it. A very nice pub.

This was a great bar, but now, with an unusual serving of food next to the bar, it stinks, so it put me off big time. Serving food should have its own separate kitchen, not around the main bar area.

The beer hit and miss, but normally good.

Popped in for a couple of Gold before heading off home, far better vibe since my last post! Now serving food again, all in all getting back to what made it one of my top 3 pubs in Bury

Nice pub. I like the majority of the Joseph Holt pubs. The manager/landlord was very friendly. Good selection of drinks reasonably priced. Comfortable seats and a disabled toilet with a door that locked unlike the Robert Peel next door. Would go again.

Light and airy place. Reasonably priced. Great location.

A shame place was empty, a really good singer on, virtually no audience. Friday night should be Karaoke night. Next pub was packed out due to Karaoke. Save your live singers for Saturdays or Sundays.

My friend and I went in to Wyldes last Tuesday and shared a bottle of wine which was very reasonably priced. The Barman was really nice and friendly. Our only criticism was that the disabled toilet didn't have a seat. I am disabled and walk with a stick so I wasn't able to go up stairs to the toilet and had to wait.

Joseph Holt's own brand ales and lagers but at very friendly prices in a typical city centre setting.

Friday night looking for a pub with cask ale which would take a dog (Trackside closed), the manager and his young ladies made us extremely welcome and my first pints of Joey Holts in 20 years went down magnificently!

Beer is normally good, but when visiting yesterday Saturday, no test and trace when going in and out of the pub?

Arrived here for a quick drink one wet weekend July 2019 with my partner as we were staying in Bury for a couple of nights. Place was pretty busy but we managed to squeeze into some seats. It was all a bit hectic as it seems a popular pub!

Over priced warm beer is your thing then this is for you. Always empty no atmosphere at all and very miserable staff members. Dont waste your money here go outside cross the road and you will find much better places including a Irish bar that is always very friendly

We looking for a pub showing the six nations rugby and found ourselves here. Lovely pub with bar on ground floor but seat available over 2 floors. Serves pastas, pizzas wraps etc. Staff friendly and nice atmosphere We only went in for a drink and ended up having 5 each lol We would certainly be popping in again when back in Bury

Pleasant surroundings. Called in for food after steam train excursion. All had Mac and Red. Slight error when food came out the lassie forgot our cutlery, quick look and we couldn't see any available, but the man cooking the pizzas came to the rescue, really friendly chap Food was good, reasonable price. Pub was clean, good crowd of people in not rowdy even though football was on. Recommend.

Too many young kids running around whilst grown ups were drinking there beer. Don't mind whilst they sit still like they would have to do at the DENTIST.

Lovely fresh home made hoi sin duck pizza - perfect balance of sauce and cheese and plenty of duck and salad. No complaints, but would prefer a wider variety of in house pints on the deal please.

Great food unbelievable prices come from Leeds and just love visiting this place every time we visit Bury, staff great can not do enough for you.

Really lovely cosy pub. Not long left from there and fortunately for me they had a young girl singing and she was brilliant! I found a cosy seat next to a fire and enjoyed the artist. Friendly locals are engaging and friendly staff! Definitely a must if you're in the area. I didn't try the food so can't comment but beer was spot on and even cheaper than my local Joseph Holt's pub! Well done to everyone and thanks for a nice afternoon! Definitely returning soon! 5*

Popped in for a pint and a bite to eat. Lovely pint of Two Hoots and a Duck Wrap went down at treat. Looks to be a good place to watch sport with lots of screens. Very reasonable prices.

It was ok until someone started vaping, so we left never to return.

Closed to early for my liking Saturday night other bars were still serving we were turfed out won't go again

It's fair to say that Wyldes has undergone a huge transformation recently and the owners should be commended for that. We will call in for a drink when visiting the town centre as it's comfortable, clean, well furnished and the staff are very good. We decided to take a light lunch yesterday which was our first experience of eating there. A mix of flatbreads and chicken wings all perfectly cooked, tasty, well presented and reasonably priced. The Diamond lager was also good. Where the experience was let down was by the almost constant use of the nearby disabled toilet by able bodied people who just couldn't be bothered to climb the stairs to the facilities on the first floor. Not only is this an abuse of a facility provided for those in genuine need it is also a distraction for those diners seated nearby. Also any odours within the cubicle are wafted towards said diners when the door is closed. I pointed this out to the young man who served me his reply was "yes it's a problem" The experience hasn't put me off returning to eat or drink at Wyldes I will simply sit elsewhere it's just unfortunate that the most comfortable seating is adjacent to the disabled toilet. I gave an average rating as you cant give good and the next after average on TripAdvisor is very good which this wasn't.

Visited here when visiting Bury with my partner. Very clean pub with good choice of drinks for all preferences. Staff and patrons very friendly and a very nice atmosphere.

Watching live football on m u.t v. And cheaper beer than in my own local in chorlton.(why). Thanks.
