Great pub, in here all the time, staff are friendly and always acknowledge my little daughter when we come in! Foods decent as well, had a bash at the hot wings a few times, well recommended

Come here intermittently and occasionally have food. Came today and tried the steak flatbread (medium rare) and it was incredible. So much so I had to tell the waitress that it was "f***ing unreal" and to please tell the chef. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Drove past this place a million times, so decided to pop in for some lunch. Food was great, staff very friendly and polite (thanks Gemma). Will come again. Not bad for a chain restaurant/bar.

Came here for a catch-up with friends we hadn't seen in a while. Had amazing food couldn't fault it. Presention spot on. Quick service at the bar, staff were happy and welcoming. A girl with brown hair came over to check everything was okay she was very bubbley and great to chat to. Will be returning as we really enjoyed the experience from beginning to end. Thank you

Very disappointing food at lunchtime ordered burger and fries and salad burger black chips poor quality was never asked if the food was okay 💯won’t be ordering food again !!!

Called in on Monday 24th July around 4.30. I always order hunters chicken, normally it is lovely, today it was very dry and the chips were disgusting as if they had been cooked for a while very dark and inedible . The picture makes them look better than they were but trust me they weren't . First bad meal I have had in there, told a member of staff and she didn't seem bothered. It has put me off wanting to go in again. Normally bar staff are very helpful.

It’s a great pub, nice and big with plenty of tvs in and around the pub. Food is top tier. Good for you’re Friday and Saturday nights if you fancy a boogie.

Visited for lunch today (Sun 23rd June 2024). The whole place was clean, and the lady that served us was very friendly. The food was very good too.

Didn't eat but we came for the football and it was amazing. Food we saw coming out looked good so will be back to try. Thanks for a great afternoon.

Food was ok but it's cheap and cheerful so wasn't expecting 5 star food tbh.. pub could do with a touch up as its a bit dingy. ladies toilets defo need looking at, broken door lock and cracked seat. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great car park behind pub..

Rang up at the last minute as our other booking at a different place got double booked. The girl on the phone was extremely helpful and said it was fine we came (there were 16 of us) she sorted a large area where we could all sit together, which was great. The food came out in a timely manner. You could not fault it! The steak was cooked perfectly, and the hunters chicken was a favourite. I will definitely be returning with my family again. Thank you for your good hospitality.

I visited Friday with family and the staff were very welcoming! The pub was very busy but all staff had a smile on their faces. Food arrived quickly and was very nice, piping hot and good presentation. Will definitely return :)

Dire food and service... Don't bother Hardly any menu items were in (this isn't the first time) 45 min wait for the food even though the pub was quiet. We all went for the hunters chicken. After the long wait, we were greeted with an incinerated pigeon breast, covered in burnt hard cheese, a pot of peas and 10 chips (yes I counted them)y son was fortunate, he got 12 chips, they must have liked him. Still being hungry after salvaging the edible parts of our food we decided on dessert. We went the bar and waited for the lady to finish complaining about her Sundae that came with no sauce, no pieces just ice cream and a piece of mars bar! We asked what dessert they had in.. We were told everything apart from Sundaes... 15 mins later, we were told the cheesecakes had run out. Really don't bother, go to Wetherspoons where the food is okay and the service quick!

Pub needs a good clean! No soap in the toilets and a a toilet lid that's broke. Toilets need a good scrub. Staff need to crack a smile. Food wasn't the best at all and we have been to several greeneking pubs. Won't be back at this one for sure.

Will be a short review, live local and go in quite often, no real problem with food its decent pub grub but yesterday had a side salad which consisted of.....lettuce, 3 tiny bits of tomato and sliced onions, nothing else, sorry but to me that is not a side salad .

Visited here on 23rd April 2024 for my son’s birthday as a family of 5. From the moment we walked in the staff were very friendly and helpful. We all ordered mix grills which were cooked to perfection by Rachel the chef and presented beautifully. I cannot express enough how lovely the food and service was. Gemma and Kayleigh the bar staff were so attentive and provided excellent customer service all the time we was there. The menu is very varied with reasonable prices too. We would definitely recommend this place and we will certainly be back again soon. 5 ⭐️ awarded by me.

We ate at the wellington on the 23rd April 2024 in the afternoon about 1 pm. No word of a lie the food was absolutely amazing. Apparently there is a relatively new chef and it did not dissapoint . Also the two ladies behind the bar and serving food were excellent. They went above and beyond to make it a perfect experience

After a couple of experiences of not having half the menu in stock, we decided to try The Wellington again with friends. Iii ordered sirloin steak with salad - steak had a weird taste to it, i had one bite couldn't eat it. The salad was sparse and no dressing, when asked for dressing there was non in stock. My partner ordered bacon cheese burger that was cremated and looked like a child potion. My friend ordered the lamb kebab- non of the sources were in stock. When the meal came out the middle of the lamb 'sausage' cold - asked for a refund and was told 2/3 days for refund. The bar staff and waiters are friendly and try to be helpful. We used to eat here as a local quite regular but of recent has gone down hill. We gave it another go but I'm afraid we won't be back again

Great food service with a smile thanks

Had the ale pie. It was veryovercooked. The roasted veg was poorly prepared. Service was quick. Table was uncleaned. Toilets had a bad smell to them.8

Didn't have anything we ordered. It's surprisingly too noisy for eating. Glad to leave.

If you like watching football then it's the place to go....for my liking, there were just too many television screens. Its full on.

Nice and busy for a Friday afternoon. Served no problem, sports on TV, big car park, roomy boozer. Will return.

What has happened to the food!! Haven’t been for 12 months what a change ?? Is there a different chef ?? I called in for my birthday we had flatbreads one with piri chicken and the other steak we were told they didn’t have courgettes or peppers so we asked for salad instead we got chewy old meat it seemed with loads of chopped red onions that was it !! on raw cold flat breads - we didn’t eat it left it all Not sure who the bar lady was but not very helpful or actually that bothered We spent over 50 pound and was not even offered a cooler for our wine just given to us unopened over the bar Customer service has really gone down hill .. they will definitely lose customers They will always have their regulars who have been going there years they will be keeping the place open I suspect Rubbish day ☹️

Came in with mrs and kids.food was lovley as always but the table opposite the bar had some very strange people drinking on it.a woman was sat gagging and heaving to the point of nearly being sick for her weird mates entertainment.my daughter saw all this and started getting upset as she has a phobia of ppl being sick.the staff saw these weird individuals and just let them carry on even though people were eating in the resteraunt.hope this has been more of a indepth review as requested

Let me put it this way , I used to go there pretty often few years agoo and i did like it , I went in today and ! Steak was chewie, the Ribs meal its just one big bone with literally one bite meat,and was so overcooked I could not even bite it. And kids menu chicken nugget was hard as rock , chicken mix not bad , but after few bites even my daughter give up. I spoke to another customers that were sitting in there and they all said food was not right. I would not go back even if they pay me for it.

Took one hour from sitting down to get our starters and a further hour and a half to get our mains. Our starting dishes didn’t get taken away until it had been sat for over an hour and we were told they weren’t aware we had finished our starters. One staff member appeared to just be behind the bar doing nothing while a man (who had clocked off by the time we got our mains) and a women on shift were dealing with everything on the floor. During changeover nothing had been handed over it seems. Food was underwhelming to say the least as well. Very poor service. Will not be returning. Feel very sorry for the floor staff picking up the pieces.

Went in to watch the singer on Saturday nights ,great service and atmosphere . Ordered the chicken share platter too much for two people wife said so must be true . Service and staff brilliant definitely going again

Not visited since COVID-19 and I have got out of the habit of dining out. I was really impressed. The staff were courteous friendly and professional. Everything that we ordered was available and was beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. The service was prompt and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble. The place was very child friendly and the cleanliness and hygiene standards were first rate. I must mention our waiter Joe who is a credit to the pub, he was attentive without being overwhelming. I appreciate what I have missed over the past couple of years. Please visit The Welly you won't be disappointed.

Unfortunately some food items were out of stock which they neglected to inform front of house. Jaz was a star when trying to rectify. Food pretty decent compared to other greene kings. Would give 5 stars to Jaz for her service.

Got BOGOF burgers, used a Blue Light Card and it was more expensive as it just gives the 10% discount. The barman didn't tell us this at the time and we were told, "It's already gone through". Never again.

Only the second time I've been here and I thoroughly enjoyed it once again.i had the hunters chicken and it was delicious.very good value for money.the atmosphere was superb BCS it was the day Liverpool were playing and it all added to the experience, friend from London couldn't believe how so nice the food was and the value .your chef did you credit with the food.the bar staff are super friendly and smiling.the whole team is a credit to this pub!!!! The food is alright and the staff are friendly, but it’s just a shame about the amount of cocaine that’s being done in here on a Friday and Saturday night. Went to the toilet only to realise two guys were in the cubicle together, and then I heard a big sniff!

Come in regularly for food and the quiz on a Thursday. Really good quality food, good service and great quiz! Really engaging quiz master, and quiz made for people of all ages.

Tuesday night hardly anyone in and 3 of us had finished our meals before my dad’s fish and chips arrived after a whopping 90 minutes

This is a good place to go to for drinks. We meet up with friends at this location for drinks, alcohol and nonalcohol. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We sat inside. It was a Friday night, not busy and no wait. I highly recommend this location for drinks and meeting up with friends.

At one time this used to be a really good pub. However, it's slowly declined over time and now is a shadow of its former self. Given its prime location, it should be a flagship for the pubco but they seem to have lost interest in it. No real ale? Really? Makes it pointless to visit here when there are better venues nearby.

Last minute decision to eat here on fathers day. Wish we hadn’t bothered. We regularly visit here but unlikely we will again, the food was not up to the usual standard, steak was fatty, gammon was fatty, chips over cooked, flatbread was dry - i could go on. There were people vaping inside, this is the first time in all my visits I have seen people vaping inside. I did approach a member of staff to ask if this is normal and she said it was at the discretion of the manager. This was extremely disappointing to hear, we had someone on the table next to us vaping whilst we were eating. Unlikely to visit again which is a shame when it’s our local! UPDATE - I have received feedback from Greeneking customer relations who advise vaping inside their establishments is not permitted! Shame they don’t follow this policy here!!

It was really quiet we popped in for a quick bit of lunch on Father’s Day. One member said f staff on the bar one waiting service was so slow food was ok. The menu is alright but they need more staff. It took an hour for food to arrive

Excellent Customer Service. The girl (blonde) behind the Bar couldnt do enough for Customers. Went over an above for a couple who where partially sighted. Didn't rush them an read the while menu out so they could choose food Food amazing 👏 Will definitely be back an recommend

The food was nicely cooked but 6 pieces of scampi and 39 peas plus a few chips don't constitute a meal, especially at £7.99 each. Very disappointing and poor value. Not great when you have to stop at a chippy on the way home.

Was recommended the Wellington for an anniversary meal, but won't be back. The meal was very disappointing, came on skillet when requested plate, second meal took ages, steak very fatty and not much meat, peas and chips not fresh, egg rubbery. The member of staff didn't have a lot to say when it was commented on. When visiting the toilet was faced with a woman sat on the toilet with the door wide open, pants round ankles, and wasn't bothered. No soap in dispenser. This pub is not for us I'm afraid.

The waiter with the beard, I think Ben? was his name, was okay, but probably should of listened to the manager Rhoan better as he was a bit slow sometimes but overall okay like not bad or anything just you know, the beard is quite big. The kitche staff were great, they really did a great job, I liked the food and the tall turkish man I think Dyn was his name was very nice at his job and the head chef luke was very kind showing Dyn the ropes and how to cook things in a good way like they do in Tv shows and overall it was nice. I will come back to the wellington again because I like it and the people do good jobs like the man with tattoos his name is keygun and he always smiles.

My experience was good, so was the beer, however, it can get a little tense sometimes, when the young ones kick off

Although staff were nice enough the service was very slow. Food was lukewarm, dry and over cooked. Mixed grill came with veggie sausage and half of the other items missing, when queried we were told "oh yeah, the chef is having a bad day" and "were you not told when you ordered?"... Er, no or I wouldn't have ordered it. I would not recommend and will not go back.

Called at teatime for something to eat at 5-30pm on a Friday. Ended up leaving at 9-30pm. Ordered off the menu, 2 Gammon meals, was delicious, second time ordering this meal and great both times. Was very busy, people finishing work calling in for a drink. Will defoe call again.

Menus were stick and dirty. Toilets stank like pee, with a broken toilet and tap that kept running. The chicken was awful almost slimy. We used to come here all the time but in the past year the standards have fallen well below par.

First time here, tried the steak and ale pie, pastry soggy and salty, gravy too thick and not enough and nit much meat inside. Staff friendly but don't like to see them having eating whilst wandering around then getting my tea, no handwashing was involved. The steak was OK but then found a date sticker in the food saying today is Thursday throw away Sunday and it was Wendsday so out of date. Did get a refund of the steak, the guy who dealt with my complaint was great. You asked for feedback!
