Visited today with 15 work colleagues, for lunch, great customer service, friendly and attentive staff fast service, great food, and reasonably priced, will definitely be back in the future

This is a great thriving pub with very welcoming and friendly staff. The service is excellent and you always have a great time.

Having eaten in the Knowsley on many occasions always rating it highly, the Gammon I just ate was truly superb! Recommended!

Large friendly busy pub. The service was great, even though very busy. The atmosphere was lively and fun. The whole family enjoyed their food, especially the kids, with the build your own burger meals.

Always love popping in to the Knowsley, whether it's for a quick pint, brunch or the footy. Popped in today with the Mrs, nice pint of the black stuff and a brunch breakfast. Nice and reasonably priced. Thanks Martin for your hospitality. If you are in Bury, pop in and say hello.

Can’t stop liking this place.. day-after-day they stand out of the crowd with their great service.. rich food menu, many screens, excellent helpful people👍 On the top of that.. management is a eagerly listening to any comments

I enjoyed my food it was a bit small portion .

During Christmas shopping me and my fiancée decided to pop in here for a quick lunch. When my meal arrived I was shocked and completely stunned because it was plated without care and detail I wouldn't have served that to my children I did eat it because I was starving but something in this pub needs to change if they want to be successful. After complaining to the manager I felt that he handled it really well and came across really professional and agreed about the shocking presentation. The chef needs to learn from this because that was careless. I'm not too sure if I will be going back again to this place again.

Very busy on visit, maybe 'cos it was market day? Barman was rushed off his feet (ty for picking up my bus pass that I dropped), Had ham & eggs & a beer.

Looked good place to eat but didn't have what we ordered and told us it would be 40mins for what food they had.

Called in for lunch Wednesday with friend. Good deals on so our lunch was the 2 x Buttermilk chicken Burger etc with a coffee & tea, just under £14. Other deals available. In summer have sat in small garden, sun trap & had lovely baskets.

Had a lovely meal & drinks lovely staff very friendly lovely atmosphere in there we had been to bury market 1st when we left a lovely lady came after us I had dropped biscuits under the table thank for taking the time to come & find us

Food was ok service was not too good ordered on the app and had to wait over 45 minutes for service in end I had to go up to the bar and ask where my food and drink were

Had 3 meals here on different occasions and each time was very happy..my ONLY criticism would be the portion size is a bit on the small side. Good for small appetites like the elderly but for hungry big bears like my other half he ordered extras.The steak pie is to die for! All day breakfast highly recommended by hubby.There is a good choice on the menu for everyone with a two meals for £12.49 option each day, a kids menu and even a gluten free one which most eateries don't seem to cater for. The deserts are scrummy! A big shout out to the staff who were helpful and friendly. We will definitely be returning.

On a day trip from Leeds to Bury .y friend and I called In this public house for a lunch. A senior lunch and believe me when I say the food was delicious . Clean.hot.and very tasty. Mavis and Ann from Leeds. The public house in question was the Knowsley.

Met up with some friends and Went for lunch at the Knowsley we all opted for the pensioners special 2 course starters and main or main and pudding for £5:99 the portions were plenty and the food was tasty and good value, staff were friendly would definitely recommend

4 of us called today and all had the two course senior menu at £5.99 could not believe the high standard of food for that price ,extremley tasty and presented well , The staff where also very friendly and helpful , will definately call again

Proper English pub this. Large enough for plenty of people and atmosphere to boot. Not many of these kinds of places around anymore and nice to see they kept the classic pub feel.

Had an excellent evening sharing tales of yesteryear with two of my dearest friends who provided convivial company, over a few jars of lager. Thoroughly enjoy the Knowsley - Kudos to Tom and Gemma, who offered a warm welcome and superb service. The pub was rather quiet, understandable given it was a Monday, blowing a gale 9 with non-stop showers outside. I am also glad we could enjoy a few games of pool in this warm, friendly and reasonably priced environment. Thank you.

We went Saturday for drinks bonus band on ,then Sunday for food Sunday dinner was excellent and amazing value...massive shout out to Tom ...this is our go to pub when staying at Burrs camc just got even better knowing we can now take our 2 idiots (sorry dogs 😆) see you soon 🥰

Been to Knowsley many times but this Sunday food was AMAZING Turkey dinner can't fault it value for money and tasty defo returning to try the Beef

This place is horrible. The food was dog rough. The beer was served stone cold. When I saw the low prices I should have known better. I should have walked away. I do feel sorry for those people who can't afford anything better than this. By the way, even though I appreciate good food, I am a human dustbin but this stuff was almost inedible.

Martin the Barman was really friendly.. It was quite busy but he was Excellent at his job and we were served quickly and all with a chat and s smile. The food was very good value too..

Decent pub with decent landlord who looks after his customers. No complaints. ( except they like peas with gammon.. but they let me have beans)

Called in over the weekend. Ordered two roast meals and two drinks. It was busy but we got served quickly. Food as usual was spot on. Hot and tasty. Staff were smiling and helpful. Would definitely recommend this pub

It was very quiet when I last went in. Always clean, and usually a good atmosphere, it did seem as though it was all a bit of an effort for the lady serving. We all have off days. However I will go back as it's ok.

Popped in from the markets and enjoyed it, Wednesday was build a burger for £5 can not knock it for that proce. Many more offers on menu.

Called in over the weekend. Me and my wife had the Sunday roast dinner, which was lovely. The service was good and didn't have a problem getting a table. Nice pub and will definitely call again in the future.

How long does it take to serve a desert now waited 30 mins asked for it was told to wait until she had time. I have a bus to catch

Had a little surprise 80th birthday lunch. Manager and staff were super helpful, so friendly and really efficient. Food service amazing. Couldn't have asked for anything more xx

Mid afternoon it was quiet. Service and food was excellent .Large portion build your burger very tasty.

Killing time before a gig at The Wax And Beans and nipped in here as we were passing. Pleasant enough place to pass half an hour. The staff were welcoming, particularly as we were only having two lemonades and no pub nosh. It was a decent enough way to to knock off half an hour before ambling up the road.

This pub is definitely cheap and cheerful. In a very good way. Extensive menu with a host of deals. We had the Build a burger Wednesday deal. £5. No kidding. Burger, chips, onion rings. On a prior visit we had Breakfast rolls with chips. Less than a fiver. And they are all super tasty. ( I also recommend the salted caramel ice cream cake. Yummy yummy). Staff are super friendly. This is our go to now on our monthly trip to Bury Market. Well done the Knowsley. 👍🏻👍🏻

I met up with my grandaughter for tea and to meet her partner. I would not recomend it to anyone who wants to dine there. I asked for food we all picked and was told it was not on the menu, so tried something avery foody bar serves a burger sorry not on the menu so we gave up on the food.

All good but, try get a game of pool past the regulars, management couldn't care less, even on free pool night.

Ordered the double cheese burger.. cooked to perfection. Moist chargrilled burgers, great flavour and good quality. Not had a burger for a while, well worth the wait. Welldone guys 👌

While we were eating a member of staff came over to ask us if the food was ok which we replied yes. He then put all the condiments in a box and started to walk away, I had to say excuse me can you leave that here we haven’t finished eating. His response was he was trying to get ahead. Ahead of what I don’t know, the pub wasn’t even half full and not everyone was eating. At the end we were asked by the same guy how the food was to which we said great and we were asked if it was just great or excellent? Which we replied great, we were told if we had have said it was excellent we would have been asked to leave a review. Well I’m leaving one for the awkward experience we had. We just wanted an easy meal, we were put on the spot with the questions and felt rushed to finish eating when he came to take the condiments away. We felt the member of staff who dealt with us was pushy and rude. I have given one star for chef Gemma as the food was nice.

We went here for our boy’s first meal out and my partner’s first mother’s day. The staff were very friendly, the music was just our vibe, and the food was delicious. We booked online and we had a high chair ready and waiting for us which we really appreciated. First visit of many I hope.

There is no such thing as a free pool table on the Monday because your paying over the odds for it during the week to recover monies lost on the Monday £1.50 for a game of pool 🎱 it's going on a bit don't you think ? Didn't sample the food the beer was off, but the gentleman behind the bar addressed the beer issue never did like smelly beer !! It's not a bad pub just bad management and the greedy fat cats who think it's ok to overcharge for certain things within this establishment.

Nice atmosphere, not too busy, pleasant staff

Been to this place numerous times over the past few months for food & drinks...thought it's about time we left a review to show our thoughts on our findings. Always clean, lovely & warm, friendly pro-active staff & utterly delighted with every meal we've had. We eat out often & it's become a firm favourite of ours. Wednesday 'build a burger' meals at £5 are astonishing in quality, size & value. The fantastic daily '2 classic dishes' for £11.49 have got to be the best meals/value anywhere...also the chefs are obviously excellent at their job. Basically everything on the menu is amazing, darn delicious & amazing value. Big shout out to Tom, Beth, Dan & Steven, just some of the excellent staff we've had the pleasure of recently. Very happy customers.

Friendly staff and prompt service. The food arrived piping hot and was gorgeous. Katsu quorn with rice & chips was my order. I can't speak highly enough of my experience.

Lovely choice of menu, build your own burger was very tasty! We visited before we went to the the East Lancashire Santa train ride and came back again afterwards to wait for a taxi home. Lovely atmosphere in an ideal location to public transport

We visited The Knowsley Pub earlier today for drinks and food. Food - Wide selection for all tastes. The food we ordered although a slight delay in receiving it (obviously as it is a busy Saturday, was very tasty and really good portion sizes! Price - The price for 3 large drinks and meals came to just over £40 which is a bargain by any standards in my view! Staff - The staff (especially Martin) as always were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. You can be sure of a really warm welcome here and it's a great little spot. Whenever in Bury, we always swing by for a lil' drinkipoos and often have a meal too. Bottoms up!

Well over an hour’s wait for food. Staff abrupt and disinterested. Advertising meals on Christmas Day. Don’t bother, you’d still be waiting for your starters on Boxing Day. Execrable.

Have been in this pub numerous times as the food was really good. However after sat evening would not be going in again. No scampi then was told food would take a while and when it did arrive the 3 steaks we ordered were quite frankly like old soles off a shoe. Two of us ate it we were starving and didn't want to wait ages again and the other person got there money back. Not one member of staff came over to ask were we happy with the food. A really disappointing experience.

Went for Sunday lunch with the kids. Food was amazing. All the vegetables were fresh and meat was beautiful.

I have never eaten here but after looking at the menu I gave it a go. The bar staff are friendly and the food did not disappoint . excellent !

Popped in for a cocktail, decided upon having food after looking at the menu, wasn't let down, the burger in this place was the best we've had by miles, if you choose the burger too, get the burnt ends on it, they are fantastic, compliments to the chef!!!

Went in for a drink and had a cocktail which was so good and decided to order food. Ordered the burger with cheese an egg and burnt ends and I can honestly say that it's the best burger I've ever had, and the burnt ends are amazing I could eat a plate full. Highly recommend, and friendly staff, we will definatley be back

Having had just a drink here on our previous visit to Bury thought we would try the two course seniors menu, rather than go next door to Spoons. Went for the all day breakfast with chips. Appeared to be freshly cooked after a short delay. Generally OK with the bacon and sausage being tasty, however the beans were YUK. Never tasted anything so insipid at any previous restaurant. Apple crumble dessert was very tasty and most enjoyable. The drinks we had were almost the same prices as the meals. Using the toilet facilities upstairs you require to be a contortionist to get into the gents cubicle. The RHS one still does not have any toilet paper, even the holder was missing the same as on our first visit over a month previous. The general state of the toilets (ladies included) was poor and neither were very clean. Doubtful if we will return on our next visit as Spoons is generally better.

Great food at great prices. Helpful and friendly staff. A great selection of beers, wines and spirits. Especially enjoyed the rhubarb cider.

A bit rough but could be alright for one on the go! And in retrospect, is probably one of the nicer pubs in the area, which isn’t saying much

Made a last minute booking the day before for me and group of coworkers. This place was great and the staff were super accommodating, despite us being a group with a large last minute order. We had Tom, Beth and Charlotte giving absolutely amazing service...

Great pub , lots of space , good staff , good food , only let down by the upstair toilets condition .if they were in good condition this would be a 5 star review . I'm sure they will be sorted out by the time this review is published . Plates hot the food was served on , bar staff really friendly , recommend if you fancy a pub lunch in bury .

Called for drinks only and weren't disappointed. Friendly staff and a couple of cold drinks on a hot afternoon were just what we needed.

Nice assortment of drinks available at reasonable prices. I didn't sample the food so I can't comment. Staff friendly and welcoming. At the time of my visit it was very quiet, but clean and tidy all the same.

We didn't eat, enjoyed drinks with family, very big pub and party venue. Music and space for dancing. Lots of tables for eating and socially distanced

The senior menu is outstanding value and the chicken strips, steak pudding and treacle sponge for £6.49 is great .
