Best fish and chip shop in the area…. Massive queues on Good Friday but definitely worth the wait… Never go anywhere else, my favourite by far.

I have just come off the phone after feeling I had to speak to the manager. I'm pleased to say that my partner and I have just had the most fantastic haddock we've ever bought. Our go to chippy is Wybers but tonight they have exceeded all expectations. Never before has the batter been as crisp, top and bottom as it was tonight. Hats off to this place, always good but today EXCEPTIONAL. Thank you.

Great kebab and chips less than £9 fed 2 of us couldn’t even get a lge kebab for that price where I come from gave us a taster cup chips and their Mexican sauce but stuck with the chilli sauce very friendly staff bigger chip portions than other’s in Grimsby

Update: They now accept card payment! A fantastic chippy serving everything you would expect from Haddock and Cod to Fishcake and Spam Fritters as well as kebabs. Excellent selection of sauces and the staff are very quick and efficient without making you feel rushed. Can be quite busy but not a very long wait, food is brilliant and plenty of parking available outside. Prices are similar to other local places but currently don’t accept card payments. Is very nicely decorated and always looks clean and hygienic.

Popped in for a Large Haddock, Fishcake, Large Chips, Curry sauce and Mushy peas for the pair of us. Zero bones, perfectly cooked, batter amount was on point and easily the best mushy peas out there! The fish was fresh and tasted as it should. The fishcakes are the home-made type and were brilliant! Back there very soon!

Good fish and chips.(old review) 17/06/23 I have lived opposite this chippy over 40 years so having got back from holiday tonight decided to have fish and chips. Big mistake the fish tasted old and dry the chips where tasteless and greasy.(worst I’ve had)very disappointed

Not been here for many years but decided to pay a visit for a quick and easy lunch. Excellent food, got to be one of the best chip shops in the town. Very tasty fish cake and chips, very reasonable price and speedy friendly service. Highly recommend.

Good fish and chips and reasonably priced for the quality. people were queuing out the door which tells you how popular it is. But they still serve you very quickly considering and they seem to have a good system going. The chips did stick to the paper a lot though which made it quite difficult to serve up when we got home. Will definitely go again though.

I am working away from home in Grimsby and was looking for a meal after a long workday. Google had good reviews of this chippy so gave it a go. I arrived at 5.15pm and the queue was out the door. The queue moved quickly, the staff were pleasant and efficient. A large fish and chips go under £8 was a bargain and it was freshly cooked and tasted excellent. I can’t praise them highly enough for the quality and value.

Fish and chips anywhere else just doesnt compare. The fish hangs off the plate and a good portion of chips. The cost has risen and makes it a more expensive take away option but always worth it.

Always has been a quality chippy but prices have increased and the fish cakes are more like cakes now due to the lack of quality fish in them.

Quite simply the best fish and chips in Grimsby/Cleethorpes. Several family members, some who have much closer chippies agree, and will travel for the food from this establishment. A perfect example of proper northern fish and chips - i.e. fresh haddock, expertly battered :)

Pricey, but good. I suppose you get what ya pay for, but being the only one close by, sort of captive audience...

Second time there in the last two weeks and each time the haddock hasn't been great, maybe I've been unlucky on both occasions, but slightly grey tasteless fish doesn't float my boat. If I'm indulging myself I want it to be worth the carbs, and this certainly wasn't, I threw most of the fish in the bin. I won't be repeating the experience.

Service excellent, price reasonable, the only thing is that the fish in its batter was absolutely running in fat. After collecting the fish and chips and returning home I put the package on the side whilst I obtained plates. The fat was running from the package and puddling onto the work surface. I have never ever had this happen before from any fish and chip shop not that we have them very often but I think that because they were busy they weren't letting the fish drain at all before it was being wrapped. We must have eaten 6 weeks of our fat in take in one go last night. What a shame to have to write a review of this sort, needless to say we won't be buying them again any time soon

going to give it one more try, used to be a great little chippy but last 2 visits chips were very poor as if hot held for ages or recooked from the afternoon fish still decent, wondering if its had a change of ownership as 18 months ago it has gone downhill

The best chippy and they do a fishing chips special for under £3. And it tastes brilliant highly recommended for younger people and pensioners that live on a small income. Home made fishcakes are wonderful.

Absolutely brilliant fish from here. Big portions and some of the best tasting fish in town. Chips are very nice and not too greasy. The sausages are brilliant and proper Lincolnshire sausages. My only complaint is the jumbo sausages are different and not as nice as the small ones (but that is the same in most chippys). Love the fact they sell chilli sauce as well and that was nice.

They are one if not the best chippy in Grimsby. They may look busy but the staff are very efficient and seve customers quickly. Give them a try You will not be sorry

Not been here in over 20 years since moving. Bit of nostalgia had me go back as transmitting through. After returning home and eating the fish and chips. Felt very queezy and sick afterwards. Felt like this for an hour after till I had to make myself chunder. Not a good experience and will not be going back.

Always perfectly fried fish, plenty of chips with quick service. Easy parking outside the door. Difficult to beat really 😊 👍
