Went at 5pm on a Sunday, Sunday menu consisted mainly of roasts only to find out after we'd been seated that they had no roast dinners left, which only left a hand full of dishes and we found out they didn't have 2 of these either and things also missing from children's menu! Service was awful, had to ask several times to order etc Food was very bland, tasteless and elements were cold. I ended up having 2 side dishes as all options I wanted weren't available. One of the sides I chose was cauliflower cheese and the cauliflower was raw. Very disappointed. Bill was very expensive for what we had which frankly wasn't worth the money at all. Won't be coming back again.

For years I have driven along the A27 and seen the sign for The Worlds End pub, somewhere I always wanted to try and last weekend I finally got my wish. I thought the pub is presented well with a large carpark. When we entered the young guy behind the bar greeted us warmly and checked our booking and then showed us to the table advising James would be with you soon. Sure enough, James came over and asked if we would like to order drinks. Order entered into the system and the barman brought the drinks down to our table. The décor is lovely and the service was great. We ordered the Baked Camembert sharer to start. Whilst it taste lovely, we were disappointed it came with only a few bits of Sourdough bread and crackers. Whilst writing this I checked their menu and it does not mention crackers. For our main dishes we ordered Duck Confit which came with mash and cabbage and Nduja Chicken with house salad and triple cooked chips. Both dishes were very good. The Outland hazy IPA was lovely and my wife had the Mirabello, Pinot Grigio. With my dinner I ordered the Sierra Grande Sauvignon. Overall, this was a lovely dinner and the staff were very pleasant.

Service excellent. Food dreadful. Fish and chips? Overcooked to burnt batter. Was the fish coley? £29.95 for a tiny steak. This used to be a great place to eat. Will not be visiting again. The booking procedure was by AI!!!!!!

We visited in the late afternoon, on a Sunday, because our usual favourite place on the beach in Ferring was too busy and full. The World’s End is in a lovely location, with a nice beer garden, although they are not making the most of the space, with the external appearance of the building having a scruffy appearance. We ordered the ‘Larder Plate to Share’ sharing platter, which is just shy of £20. Unlike most sharing platters which are usually nicely presented on a board, this just came out on a plate. The portions were quite mean, and the food appalling. The halloumi fries were soaking in oil. There was not much sweet chilli jam. There were hardly any cauliflower wings, which were cremated, along with the falafels, that were charred and dried out. The olives were cheap tasting, mushy, and soggy. The artichoke was soggy and completely tasteless. The bread was toasted and dry – not even any butter was served with it. How can you expect customers to eat dry toasted bread, with nothing to dip it in, and no spread (for example, you often get houmous with sharing platters like these, but not with this one). Just see the awful reviews others have left for the same reason – I wish I had read these before ordering. Please also see my photo, which makes the food look better than it actually was! We only ate what we did because we were so hungry - much of the food was left. Absolute rip-off and poor quality – we will not be eating here again.

We have often driven past the World's End but have not been in there for years, Lunch was acceptable. My wife had the salmon and me the duck confit. Both were fine, although duck was somewhat overdone. The young lady who served us was charming and efficient. But it is as well we checked the bill carefully. In small print we noted that 10 per cent was added for service and then under this, in very large print was a space entitled "TIPS". We regarded this as bordering on deceitful and will not be returning.

Went for Sunday lunch and ordered the 21 day matured roast beef dinner. The potatoes/veg etc was lovely but the meat was virtually inedible. It was like chewing old shoe leather. We raised this with staff who offered a free desert or coffee. He did say we were one of many who had complained that day, if they got complaints early on why did they continue to sell it ??? Blamed new supplier but selling when you knew it was inedible is scandalous.

First of all, I would like to thank Joanne whose customer service was amazing. The previous Sunday we had been at The Black Rabbit & this was a tale of 2 different establishments within the Woodhouse & Hall umbrella but very different experiences! I had asked for a raspberry lemonade birthday drink & was delighted that Joanne had delivered it more like a mocktail full of strawberries & raspberries! I wld normally have chosen Prosecco but currently undergoing chemo & not drinking alcohol at the moment! It was delicious! The food at WE was much better than The BR but the menu was still very limited. The baked Camembert to share was excellent, but we had learned the previous week to ask for a spoon & extra bread! Because of my treatment, we didn’t double dip into the Camembert so a spoon was essential! We all had the Sunday roasts which were soooooooo much better than at the Black Rabbit! My beef was perfect & had 4 potatoes which were really tasty! My hubby had roast chicken but did look a little bland & not roasted & the crackling with our friends roast pork was non edible without risking a broken tooth, however we all enjoyed everything! We passed on dessert, again because we were full & nothing took our fancy! We just wish the menu was a bit more extensive as my hubby struggled to find anything he really liked.. We went back on Tuesday with another friend & served by Tina who is really great! Food was good too!

Really gone downhill since I was last here. Slow service, dour waitress. My steak was so cold when it arrived, the butter on top wouldn't melt! Waited ages to have our order taken, followed by another long wait for food to come and then waited yet again for the accompanying veg. Drinks were wrong and dessert menu disappointing. Food was tasty but not enough for me to visit again. Service charge added to bill was a bit of a cheek!

A big fan of the Worlds End and always been our go to for family meals out. Lovely staff, garden area and ambience….but what has happened to the Steak & Tanglefoot pie?! Understand there has been a change for the summer but please bring back this item on your menu! Tried the chicken and bacon pie instead but it’s not a patch on the steak one, found it salty and the pastry isn’t as nice? Will look forward to visiting when the pie is back.

I phoned to check if parking our campervan would be alright on a very busy Easter weekend and the lady returned my call saying it was no problem at all to stay overnight. A very warm welcome when we arrived for our meal at lunchtime. The waitress, also vegan, was brilliant and patient at explaining all our choices. They were clearly busy but they handled it superbly. We're still here actually enjoying the peace and quiet of the rear car park in our campervan. Thank you everyone. We will return to try more vegan options.

We fancied being lazy today and decided to let others cook and wait on us. That was a good decision. We went with our daughter ( who needed extra nourishment following a very long drive). Our waitress was lovely, efficient and very accommodating for my desire to change bits of the menu around and swap things. The service was very efficient and our 3 meals arrived. We each had something different, a roast, fish and a burger. All presented nicely and tasty. Needless to say we also managed deserts. We need to remind ourselves to visit more often. Well done, and thank you.

Staying locally on a B&B basis, we booked the World’s End (a Hall and Woodhouse pub) for our evening meal, at 6.30 midweek. There’s plenty of parking, including Blue Badge right outside. It wasn’t hugely busy at that time, but pleasantly occupied in the restaurant, where the music wasn’t too loud and the main sound was the low hum of conversation. We noted a wide variety of clientele. The menu is wide ranging to suit all tastes, likewise the drinks menu. The staff who served us (on two nights, as it turned out) were friendly, welcoming and efficient. Just chatty enough. Our meals were excellent - variously, seared salmon, meat pie and fish pie - and the desserts were glorious. I highly recommend the dark chocolate mousse. Highly! Luckily we noticed a leaflet on the table offering a free dessert with any main meal between 5-7 pm midweek - what a bonus!! Our bill each night was just about £50 in total - that was for drinks, main meals, the free desserts and 10% added to the bill automatically, and for the quality of the service we can’t complain about that. I only noticed once we got home today that Hall and Woodhouse pubs offer a 15% Blue Light discount, something a search on the Blue Light app didn’t show so we missed out. We’d certainly go back.

Surprised at the one star reviews, but every pub has its bad days. We visited this week, took a restaurant table. Waitress was polite, pleasant, friendly and efficient. After being seated she actually put a couple of logs on the open fire and lit it for us. Food was served in good time, was good quality, good sized portions and served well. Pricing is ok. Oh dear. We visit the World's End roughly once a month (more in summer) and have always enjoyed a snack or the Sunday lunch. However, we visited this past weekend, and the only word I can think of is 'disappointing'. The menu has obviously been revised, and the menu was limited. When I asked about chicken, I was informed they'd 'ran out' despite it not actually being on the menu. Two of our party ordered the roast beef (the only 2 roast choices were beef or nut roast), and there was little choice for anything else. I ended up ordering just a cauliflower cheese. The beef arrived 10 minutes before my cauliflower cheese, which, when it turned up, was practically raw and looked unappealing. There was no apology for the delay and tbh, we couldn't wait to get out of there. Not sure we'll be back.

Lovely pub in a lovely setting, but, food was between very nice to appalling. Service was okay and the servers did try their collective best but were becoming overwhelmed and standards began to slip. Value for money was somewhat low and to have a 10%...

We had a super family gathering, the food was excellent and they have some great beer on tap. I love the ambiance, the place got busier as the evening wore on and it's clearly a popular choice. The steak pie was delicious as was the...

Overpriced and chain-restaurant quality food. I don’t mind paying high prices for meals , but when the portions are ridiculously small and only average quality, then I have to draw the line. On top of that I was asked if wanted “fries or triple cooked...

After an hour walk with our dog we dropped into the pub at 11am for a drink, in preparation for lunch, clutching a few tenners. The first ominous sign was outside the entrance declaring, in large letters: "Advance bookings only" for drink or food. Very...

Turned up for a treat meal, only to end up so frustrated that we just wanted to eat our food and go home. It became clear soon into our visit that the pub was experiencing staff shortages (10-15 minutes for a first drink), and so...

We visited The World's End for lunch and will defiantly be returning. All of our meals were delicious and we were served by friendly staff in a lovely setting, what more could we ask for?

Perhaps the staff has read the previous reviews and taken them to heart. We were greeted with smiles and good service which continued throughout the lunch. We had the duck/chicken appetizer which was a little dry but remedied with the sweeten onions on top. My...

Having read the previous reviews, we very nearly decided against trying the World’s End. As it was in walking distance of where we were staying we thought we’d risk it. We were served by a very friendly, welcoming and efficient lady called Tracey. Nothing was...

This was our first time having an evening meal here and we weren't disappointed. We usually go to The Fox down the road, but thought it was about time we tried here. The whole experience was faultless. We were greeted straight away at the bar...

A few times we have turned up now to have some food (all three on different days). Got turned away immediately due to being fully booked in an unpleasant manner. Before even getting a ‘hello’. We understand pubs can be busy and expect this. However...

Stopped for a drink at what looks like a nice pub. Found out why it was relatively empty when an unpleasant bearded bar man accused us trying to buy drinks for our daughter who was 22. Refused to look at the ID on her phone...

Four of us went for a celebratory meal. The service at first was very attentive. But this level of service didn't last beyond taking our order; we had to ask for cutlery to eat our mains, for more drinks, for the dessert menu, for our...

The food is fine for this price we paid, the steak was overcooked (asked for Medium rare but got the well done steak), but we got replacement after we talked to the staff, the rack of ribs is fine, tastes ok. The staff is very friendly. It’s convenient the location is right by A27 before driving into Arundel from the east.
