The food is fine for this price we paid, the steak was overcooked (asked for Medium rare but got the well done steak), but we got replacement after we talked to the staff, the rack of ribs is fine, tastes ok. The staff is very friendly. It’s convenient the location is right by A27 before driving into Arundel from the east.

Went to this restaurant for lunch and it was truly awful. Starters were ok but from there it went downhill. I can’t eat meat so ordered hallumi fries, corn on the cob and lightly grilled tender Mixed veg. The hallumi was rock hard as overcooked. The sweetcorn was stone cold as was the over cooked veg. It was taken away and probably microwaved. The veg was just soggy and tasteless and a Mushroom and 1/2 tomato had been put on top. So disappointed. Won’t be going back.

My wife and I moved to littlehampton 30 months ago and been coming for breakfast at Crossbush Beefeater near Arundel. The online booking is 24/7 and you get an instant confirmation by email ~absolutely brilliant! We have only had breakfast here…and you tailor make it just for yourself …it is as much as you like! We make this a brunch and have a snack about 1800. The service is excellent …everything is well cooked to your requirements (kids under 12 eat TOTALLY FREE!!.) All your hot and cold drinks are free includes all refills My breakfast: 6 rashers bacon , 2 poached eggs, 1hash brown, 2 scoops of mushrooms,2 tomatoes. Before that I have muesli and fresh fruit , a blueberry bun and a croissant. Drinks….2 glasses of orange juice, finishing up with a latte. You’d think I was a growing lad it I’m 75 years young and like my food. The waitresses are excellent. Im not trying to separate them out but Hazel is a knockout…efficient . Lovely personality. She was the only waitress on about a week ago: She took 80 covers before 10 am! This is the only Beefeater but I’m sure it won’t be the last. PS I forgot one of the other waitresses. ….LILY.,a very intelligent lady who is just having a break from doing a degree course. She is now going to Australia. This will be a loss to Beefeater. Thanks Beefeater for running a great restaurant !!!!

What can I say, we were greeted warmly by a lady called Hazel who seemed to be rushed off her feet but managed so incredibly well with the pressure. The breakfast was brilliant and I salute the company for allowing children to eat free, it makes it so much more affordable for our family to go out. I have two kids so it's perfect for them. Highly recommend don't be fooled by the word beefeater the chef really knew how to cook. Excellent experience.

Took advantage of the 10.99 kids eat free breakfast today at the beefeater, Having had pleasant experiences in other beefeaters, we thought the cross bush would be no different. Unfortunately, the place is very dirty, chairs look knackered and fabric is wearing, tables where massively sticky and only 1 menu per table.. Ontop of this no salt and pepper on any tables that I could see. There is no buffet for hot food, as I would have expected with any other beefeaters I had been in. I ordered with the waitress which was easy enough, and the Continental was fine, Very small space for it however so ran out of food consistently. Waited 40 minutes for pretty rubbish food to be honest. Hasbrowns and black pudding where soggy, Mushrooms were warm at best and the eggs were rubbery. Bacon and sausage were nice at least Wouldn't recommend the breakfast

MORE AT Google

At least a dozen food items on the menu were unavailable. They had run out of peas and regular chips. At least 4 or 5 main course options were unavailable and at least 3 puddings were out of stock along with other food items needing to be substituted due to lack of availability. But what we were able to order was adequate and the plant burger was great. There was one draft ale on tap which was well kept. Doom Bar. Our table looked good but wasn't completely clean. Perhaps that was just unlucky. Furniture wasn't tired at all and all looked fine in the restaurant area. Food presentation was OK but underwhelming, but nothing at fault, just basic. One of our party ordered a vegetarian main course but the meat equivalent was delivered accidentally and the person in our party only realised part way thorough eating it. Luckily they weren't vegetarian and didn't mind, but it could have been a big deal for another customer. We felt we should gently mention it to avoid future problems. Despite us playing down the error, the waitress apologised and removed that meal from the bill at the end which was a nice gesture and not necessary for us. The best thing about out meal was the friendly and welcoming staff on arrival and throughout the meal. They handled the things that were lacking on the menu well. Without the staff, this would be a two star joint I think. With so much food unavailable things didn't seem to be being managed well. (We wondered if the menu was changing drastically very soon -but if that was the case surely chips and peas are on the new menu?). The toilets were almost hilariously bad. Mop buckets were under 3 of the 4 urinals. It felt like the place was going to be shut down or sold imminently. We laughed about how bad it was. If the food had been cheap it would have been OK, but it wasn't and was priced in a way that set expectations higher than reality. It was like a quiet run-down Wetherspoons but with good table service and a quick turn-a-round but with a smaller menu and a quarter of the food choices out of stock. From reading other reviews the Sunday roasts seem to help the overall scores for the place so perhaps Sunday is the day to go. As our only family meal out for our entire holiday it was underwhelming and a bit of a disappointment. Building maintenance and food stock level management both need attention. Things that don't need improving... The staff's approach, style, professionalism and friendliness despite the challenges faced by a lack of food stock

Visited yesterday with family and I was pleasantly surprised. A very well run food establishment that produces great food. I assume (He was the Manager) didn’t stop multi tasking on our visit. He was doing everything and with a smile. There could of been a shortage of front of house staff, although the house Manager more than made up for the deficit. Breakfast was of excellent quality. Furthermore, professionally prepared and presented to us. One point of contention here being, the restaurant does need a serious cosmetic makeover. Come on Beefeater, worn out threadbare carpets, fixed seating with red coverings cracking and lifting. Woodwork that subtle lighting alone cannot hide needs updating also. Your at the top of the hill looking down into Arundel Beefeater. What should be your flagship restaurant, is let down by lack of investment inside and outside. Fortunately though, your staff have invested, a lot more care and attention into your restaurant than your good selves apparently!

Food and service was good. But the building is looking very grubby now and in need of a reburb or painting being done at the least. That's the parts you can see soo who knows what it looks like behind the scenes. 4 blocked urinals in the gents loo with buckets underneath to catch the overflow. It has gone downhill over the years and really needs sorting before you lose customers.

I think because the dinner plates are quite small they make the portions look bigger. I was quite disappointed with the minuscule portion of beef compared to my dad’s 1/2 chicken. I had a 1/8 of a parsnip, 1/4 of a carrot, one stalk of broccoli. I had to order an extra portion of gravy. I also had to order dessert (something I don’t normally do) because I was still hungry after eating the ‘carvery.’ We also waited an hour for our meals to arrive so probably won’t be wasting my money here again.

Had breakfast here Monday morning & there were several tables available but was shown to a small one I couldn't fit into as cramped corner seat was at an angle. Asked if could have a better table & pointed to empty ones but was told they were reserved for people who did prebook & that I hadn't reserved a table. Couple then arrived & hadn't booked either & were shown to the table we wanted to move to. Single man then arrived also ..said he hadn't booked & was shown to another table available & a further couple who hadn't booked arrived and were shown to a better table. My table was moved away from the wall whilst I collected a cup of tea, but no apology received for the sarcastic tone stating she knew what I meant but that's that!! Young server however was lovely & explained procedure for Continental/english breakfast. Viewed Continental breakfast which consisted of 4 flavoured kids' squash.. no orange juice option. Milk jug for tea/coffee/cereal was around 5litres/huge & heavy & unable to lift as full to the top, so also spilt when asked for help! No sweetener available, & only several overdone croissants, muffins, crumpets, toast, pancakes & small pan au chocolat, 2 tubs with runny fruit in (not ideal for kids!) & a few yoghurts, granola, rice Krispies, Alpen, coco pops cornflakes.. all very bland & none of it presented nicely & no ham or cheese available, although described as continental! Bin enclosed under counter of coffee machine, unclear & need both hands to throw away teabags etc. Menu also misleading as states unlimited English breakfast when in fact, you have to state which items you want in your fried breakfast with no option to replace those items you don't want with an alternative, despite being charged the same price of £10.99. Usually an unlimited option implies a buffet, but this is not the case at all. I didn't eat anything from the Continental selection as none of it was appealing for adults at all & really wanted an orange juice. So in conclusion £10.99 for an English breakfast which was very bland tasting, I would not recommend this place for breakfast. Never been here for lunch/dinner & can only hope it's better than my breakfast experience.

Used to go nearly every month, hadn't been for years , and pleasantly surprised, I had a well done steak which chefs don't like but it was cooked to perfection my daughter ordered hers medium rare and was also cooked to perfection, the fire alarm test was handled really well, having been in the trade years ago I take my hat off to the team there , and would highly recommend.

We have eaten at a few places in Arundel the last few months, but recently discovered Crossbush Beefeater. So good that it's now our 'go to' place. Forget the rest, try the best. Really calming atmosphere and décor. I recommend the two course lunchtime menu with delicious gluten free option. Food is just perfect, soup piping hot- and served with a smile by the lovely 'Freddy the French Lady'.... :-) Thank you. x

What a pleasant experience. We booked for a table of 5 for a Sunday, we had an automated AI system that booked our table correctly for us only 40 minutes before we went there. Our food was tasty it was standard ‘pub’ food. I would say the prices were on the steeper side for the quality, but it did taste nice. Others in my party did want a roast but they had run out, but we did book ‘last minute’ so we understood. The deserts were lovely. Our waitress Hazel I believe her name was, was very sweet and kind. That makes all the difference, it’s rare to get a service like that and she’s an asset to their team. I’m veggie, but there were plenty of veggie and vegan options despite the business name ‘beefeater’. Overall, I’d come again. Thank you all :)

Nice spot of lunch today at the Crossbush Beefeater with my family. Food is nicely cooked and well presented. Staff were friendly and attentive. ——————————————————————— Visited again today on the 10/02/24 for breakfast. The place was ram packed and the staff were amazing, coping extremely well with the busy breakfast rush and always smiling. I would recommend pre booking a table for breakfast here as its very popular. The gentleman (who i assume is the manager) is very professional and very good at his job with some light humour he made us feel very welcome and relaxed with the help of his amazing team. 👍🏼 The breakfast itself is great value for money with your self service Continental spread, followed by a full English breakfast with items and quantities of your choice. Very tasty too 😋 Thank you 🙏

Food took ages. We had a Sunday roast. It tasted lovely. We only had 2 small slices of meat.

I really enjoyed having a meal here as it was clean and the staff couldn't be more helpful, I will certainly eat there again, another reason that I liked it was because it was so easy to park.

It is not closed, however the food menu is absolutely rubbish. I have stayed here on numerous occasions and it has always had a very good menu. From now on I will be staying at Crossbush. Saying that the rooms are good with built in air con
