Great food, hot fresh and tasty, Monday night so a bit quieter but a nice atmosphere, and pleasant staff!

Mothers day meal. Booked early and was told only 7pm table was available so booked it at £20 deposit. We really wanted a 7.30 ro 8pm table. When we arrived it was quiet and lots of tables available? Come 8pm nearly all tables were available and pub was very quiet. Food took 40 minuites to arrive and staff all looked unhappy. Food was average but both of my daughters said chicken in burgers was pink? We had food and left by just after 9pm with no one in pub. Strange for a mothers day evening. By 10.30 both of my daughters were been sick at home and bringing up the food they had eaten? Never had this before. I will be contacting the Lamb for a full refund or I will take them to court as this is unaceptable.

I have eaten and had a drink here on a number of occasions with friends or family as I live local. I normally do reviews on trip advisor so this is my1st on this platform but it’s well justified. The food for me is excellent served in a timely manner and at a great temperature. I absolutely love the Gammon and the wife is a fan of hunters chicken. The bar service is fast and the guys and girls behind it work tirelessly. Seating is very comfortable and the whole setting is wonderful with a great atmosphere you expect just adds to your night. 2 people who stood out for me and bear in mind this was a very busy Saturday evening, was Dave and Elizabeth who made sure nobody waited too long for service and always served you with a smile and utter politeness considering some of the situations that can arise. An excellent run Green King which I think the team should be proud of themselves. AAA+++ from me and our group of friends as it’s well deserved. Thank you.

Delicious food and mostly friendly and helpful staff. Disappointed though that the woman at the til was so stroppy from start to finish, complaining we took long to order, not apologising for when many items on the menu not available and acting impatient and fed up throughout- such a shame and means we won't be back.

Okay ISH! Heard lots of good reports, sadly I wasn't impressed with the food. Soggy bottomed lasagne and dried up around the edges. I make lasagne and compared to mine it was poor. The desert was delicious and plentiful. The service also was very good no complaints there. World I return, yes I would try another dish though.

Awful. Staff are rude. Toilet was disgusting, and I also got kicked round to the others otherside of the bar because I had a baby in a pushchair so I couldn't sit with friends while they played pool. Ridiculous

Asked for very well done steak,it arrived burnt on the outside and red inside. The friend I was with is vegetarian. We were shocked to find no vegetarian main meals at all on the menu. When she aske at the bar she was offered a flatbread with a mess of vegetables in tomato sauce with a few peas scattered on top.she only ate a few mouthfuls as it was inedible.The only good thing was that I had a refund for the underdone steak.

We went for Sunday lunch today, the food was good.My mum found the vegetables a little under cooked however on the Sunday roast. The other dishes were nice and the service was excellent very nice and attentive. Good portion size and a nice atmosphere we will come back again.

We visited with a party of 15 for a birthday party. Service was excellent with a very short wait for our Good to arrive. The staff couldn't do enough to make our visit a wonder experience. Thankyou the team at the Lamb for the hard work.

We come here often for family meals. Very friendly service and always cater to our needs. One of our family members is in a wheelchair and staff go out of their way to support and make sure we all enjoy the experience. Good, cheap food and playground equipment helps to keep the children entertained! Will definitely be coming back!

A lovely family meal for 12. We were welcomed and taken to our reserved table with a smile. We were amazed at how easy to order on the app and how quick the food came-pipping hot!!! Anything was possible from more gravy to extra mustard! We found Dave and liz exceptional, made our birthday celebration even better, can’t thank them enough! Highly recommend and can’t wait to come again- thank you!

I have been here now 5 times after the general manager sent me a lovely message after I did another review. I love this pub anyway as it’s local has a great atmosphere and lovely home cooking smell as you get nearer and the Guinness is as I like it served. I am pleased to say that all visits have been very good and consistent. Drinks are very good and very well priced if other hospitality business in the local area are to go by. We’ve eaten here also on each occasion and I can say the food has been excellent and hot and served in a timely manner by very polite staff. After my last review I think only a 5 star will do. Thank you so much and for us as a couple this is an excellent run Green king pub. AAA+++

Hadn’t visited in a while but staff are always very welcoming & friendly, great service, great atmosphere, would recommend to anyone.

We entered the main bar area found a table and my husband ordered at the bar- we were informed there would be a 1/2 hour wait on food- this was probably a little understated as it was more like 45 minutes plus- anyway the food arrived and I am glad to say it was hot, fresh and delicious! Couldn’t fault it- the menus on the tables remain sticky and unloved but the staff are friendly and welcoming- it’s a good pub with the odd standard issue

Such a lovely family restaurant. Very accommodating for our needs as we had a wheelchair user and autistic son and staff found us a perfect table. The food was very well priced and superb. Plenty of food for the kids and we had the steak fondue sharing platter. The steak was cooked perfectly. We like rare but often it comes out around medium. This was rare and excellent quality. Staff were brilliant. Food was simply excellent. Wished we lived near as would come more often!

What can I say first class can't wait to return

Popped in on the off chance one Tuesday afternoon. Lovely staff as always,food was amazing. The staff were really good with my little girl getting her some colouring and some crayons. Kept coming back to say hello and were talking to her. Will definitely be back

I’m honestly in shock at the treatment myself and my son have just received at The Lamb in Rustington. Having just gone in there to get something to eat, my son was watching something on my phone and was getting excited and started to scream. I was trying to get him to stop, and telling him it’s naughty. When the manager (maybe bar manager!?) came over and told me my 2 YEAR OLD was being ‘unacceptable’ and told me to ‘take him outside to calm down for 5 minutes and then I could return.’ Baring in mind the fact it’s cold and raining today too! I wouldn’t even do that with my dog let alone my toddler! Fair to say we swiftly got a refund and left! I think the other parents were in total disbelief and were amazing with their support. And the lovely young waiter that was apologising on the managers behalf! I understand that for others it is annoying having a screaming child around. And trust me, I was doing my best. But it’s a family pub and he’s too young to understand. I sadly won’t be returning. Neither will many other people with kids in the area that I have made aware of this.

Rubbish. Went to the pub for the football and couldn’t get any food with our drinks because we didn’t book.

First time . The food was OK the fish was different funny taste off it. But that could be because it wasn't cod and maybe Hake. It was mushy. Overall I wouldn't complain about the staff or food for the others.

Came for food last week and the service was amazing and waitress was very attentive! The food was absolutely unreal 😍 tasted amazing and was beautifully plated! Would recommend 👌

Went to go to the lamb today for a family meal of 4.the girl was so rude towards us because we wanted to move tables when the rest were all empty.the staff member needs to learn customer skills as was giving us all dirty looks .we decided to eat elsewhere in the end.

UPDATED Tuesday 2nd January 2024 WOW WOW WOW !!!!! What a night me and around 150 other people had on New Years Eve. The music from DJ Andy Heading was superb and he gave us such a fantastic lead up to midnight !!!! Elaine, Brian, Connall (son), David, Elizabeth, Olly & Adam ran the place like clockwork. No long waits at the bar and the drink kept flowing !!! So many thank you's go to every one of them plus any others who helped produce some amazing food for everyone. For anyone who thinks they don't get value for money at The Lamb i challenge you to find better. For your £10 you were able to enjoy a fantastic, safe night with great music from the DJ, a happy friendly atmosphere without the pub being rammed and enough hot and cold food to sink a battleship !!!! Simply The Best and we are very lucky to have such an amazing community pub like The Lamb !!! I can hand on heart say Ive never had a bad visit. The reviews I read where people moan about speed of service, unfriendliness and standard of food, simply just goes to show what a nation of moaners we are in this country. OK, so sometimes there will be occasions when things don't run as smooth as you would like or be good as good as you would like, but how does that give you carte blanche to make comments that could potentially damage business? Have they not been damaged enough in the last 16 months? How about speak with the management and see why things may have happened? We are all entitled to bad days and we all have to learn new things. I can assure you if you did speak with them, you would be very happy with the response. In the 5 years I have used the Lamb I can't remember a member of staff who was unfriendly or rude. They are always welcoming and always attentive. Maybe consider the restraints they are all under with COVID and see how tough that is before moaning things aren't there when you almost click your fingers. Patience goes a long way !!! The current team working for Elaine & Brian are amazing !! Many are young and learning a trade that is very challenging because of COVID, yet they do it always with a smile and conversation. They are professional and treat everyone in a decent manner. Staff faces do change because of the type of industry they are in but mainly because of university terms times but whoever is working, they all sing from the same hymn sheet. Niamh, Georgie, Flic, Jody, Sophie, Nicole, Joel, Beth 1, Beth 2, Toby, Dave, Pete, Sam, Isobelle, Ben and Seb plus a couple of others in the kitchen are all lovely and deserve to all be treated with respect. Elaine & Niamh with the help of others do amazing things for the community and charity. They have mornings for certain groups of people and the work they do for Macmillan Cancer is second to none !! The menu is vast and very reasonably priced. It's always tasty and if you get an issue its always quickly remedied !! If you want food quality like the Ritz then pay a lot more and go there, don't come to the Lamb and simply moan cos its not Ritz quality. It is great and does exactly what it says on the tin !! I don't think you will find a drink they don't have based on the brewery they serve as again the menu is vast. Plenty of TV's for sporting events, but areas where you can sit without any noise or distraction. The garden is south facing and provides a nice area to enjoy the summer evenings. I wouldn't suggest it in April in the snow, but they had been shut for 4 months so it had to be done !! So you will go a long way to find a better pub anywhere but don't take it from me, try it for yourself, you won't be disappointed. If you are ill give you 5 pence to make up for it !! Cheers 💙

We stayed in Rustington for a few days and spent a good few hours in the Lamb Inn. It was a really nice pub, good service, friendly atmosphere. Cocktails on Friday and Saturday evenings were really good (2 for 1) and shots were really good value.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming despite being very busy.

Breakfast with Santa was a huge success. The breakfast orders were taken quickly and efficiently. My granddaughter was enthralled by Santa and his storytelling and relieved a lovely gift. Well done to the whole team at the Lamb, and especially Elaine, who organised a brilliant experience for all.

Went with a friend on a Tuesday, sign was up on the bar that food was only being serviced for booked tables. They had a quiz night on so guess that was why. Checked with the bar staff and was told we couldn't get food. A bit disappointed with this as we had gone there for this. After about an hour we checked again and thankfully the bar staff did us a favour and sorted out some food for us. Chicken burger and fries were great, nice and hot and we also got a sneaky dessert. Top service and great value.

After a dog walk on the beach we were searching for a nice pub for a Sunday roast. After phoning they squeezed us in at short notice. The food was delicious and service excellent, we will be returning soon !

They accommodated us when they were fully booked, which was nice however we sat there for 30 minutes before we noticed that you had to order food at the bar and it went downhill from there. We had a flatbread starter and the courgettes and onions were cold. Our beef main course came & the beef was fantastic but everything else on the plate was frozen and undercooked. When we mentioned this to the manager he said I'm not going to lie to you!!! We were asked if we still wanted dessert, we said yes and when the food came out my chocolate cake was burnt outside and my partners apple pie was spread over the plate where it had been in the microwave too long. When we complained however we were refunded the price of our main courses. Saying all that the waitresses were nice & friendly Even though our first visit wasn't that good we will give it a second try.

I hate writing poor reviews but it does get an award for the worst pub food and service we have experienced in years. The pub itself has a pleasant atmosphere but that's all it had going for it. We were booked in and seated at our table. After 20minutes waiting for someone to come and take an order we were then told we had to order at the bar and we would have a further 45 minute wait! At this point we should have left as the food was not worth the wait. Nearly all dishes over cooked and steaks so tough they had to be left. This certainly isn't one to recommend to friends and family.

Food is the biggest neg here. Most of the food is not fresh. It seems like it is bought in pre-booked and frozen, and then heated up at the time of order. I ordered the gammon/chicken BBQ skillet (I don't remember the exact name) with an extra portion of corn on the cob. My dish was missing the tomato, and the corn on the cob was so wet. It was dropping with water (a long time after cooking), then when you bit into it, more water came out. I believe this was pre-cooked, then frozen, then reheated later. My wife had a wrap/flatbread with corn on the cob on the side. Same story with the corn on the cob. The wrap looked nothing like the picture, and was very average. My son had a children's burger with beans and corn. They brought out the same corn, and PEAS! The only thing we complained about was the fact our son wanted beans and they took his dish away and brought it back 2 minutes later with beans instead. We ordered desserts, which were your standard commercial "brakes" dessert (or similar commercial supplier). Not bad, but nothing super special. It was your classic £1.50 per portion from brakes, then put it on a plate and drizzle something over it and charge nearly £6 for it. I was given a £50 gift card as a gift from my parents; and this meal cost us ~£52. If we didn't have the gift card, we would have been way more vocal and sent some food back (more than the beans/peas issue). Based on the reviews from other Greene king food establishment reviews. The food seemed exactly the same and cemented my view that I would not want to go back to a Greene king pub for food. If I was just there for drinks, it seemed ok. I had a pint of a craft beer (I forget exactly what it was) and it seemed fresh and nice. My wife had a rose lemonade, and that was also good. Overall, you go out and pay money for food/experience you can't do at home. There was nothing here that I could not do at home, I would have done better in every respect. The staff were friendly, this was the best thing about the place.

Went here a last weekend and and the bar maid was very agressive towards us at the bar. She tried to serve a pint of cider in a soft drinks glass and after being asked to put it in a proper pint glass it turned out to only be half a pint. Then straight after she gave my friend a strike becuase we were having laugh at the bar. Not really sure what that is about, or if not having fun at the pub is in the greenking handbook?

So so disappointed!!! 😞 table booked for 12.45 arrived on time ordered almost immediately waited over an hour for food to arrive. My husband needed my mothers steak knife to cut through the pastry on his pie My salad looked like it had been put in the oven & my mother's whole rump steak was a piece of gristle My parents have been coming to this pub for years admittedly not for the last couple due to poor health & we're so upset by the whole experience. Waitress came over to ask if all was OK. we said no, not really & she walked off with not even an apology 🙄 😒 😠

We found the food was excellent, 4 of us had the chick n mix , a burger and a beef rib, the food was hot and there was plenty of it, excellent value for money. Service was good and freindly, would recommend this place

Me and a group of friends recently visited Lambs Inn Rustington, on arrival we were met by not a friendly welcome, who gave a sarcastic laugh when as a big group we wanted to eat there, my friends (a young group over the age of 18) only wanted food and soft drinks however we were challenged about our age several times though we all calmly explained we were not purchasing any alcohol and they even requested ID with buying soft drinks. Seeing as we were on holiday some of us didn’t have our IDs on us, we then requested a refund and we were denied, they then continued to say that they would make an exception for us to eat there which made little to no sense. We were then made to feel extremely uncomfortable for the rest of the meal, they rolled their eyes at us when they got our order wrong, which then made a hostile environment. Additionally we purchased food at the same time as each other it all came out 10 minutes apart, some had finished their meal by the time another plate came to the table. Overall i would not recommend visiting here if you are a young adult, we could not wait to leave and it put a damp note on the trip.

Classic meal deals value for money, delivered timely, polite staff. Great visit for lunch.

Visited Lamb Inn for a midweek lunch we had the Hunters chicken that came with chips peas tomatoe served on a hot griddle plate excellent service the classic menu provides a 2 course lunch option at a good value price. Excellent service Well worth a visit

Went to order lunch this afternoon, didn’t ask for any alcohol but I was made to leave because I didn’t have ID and didn’t have a ‘guardian’ despite clearly not being a child/teen and being with my 24 year old partner? Normally enjoy this place for drinks but found that ridiculous.

Popped in earlier for a pint of Guinness.. unfortunately, the staff member was a bit grumpy.. was a bit short when my card wouldn't go through on the contactless, then was a bit sarcastic when she said 'Enjoy'. and referred to other customers as 'These two'.. At least she wasn't grumpy with just me.. we had our drinks and left..

Been going here for a while and always been really good. Good food, good service and good prices. However visited this place a few times in the last year and it hasn’t been very good. Food took ages to arrive and it come out separately so some were finished before others arrived. Was not asked if the food was okay, couldn’t find anyone for more sauce. And plates and glasses were not taken for about an hour after we finished. Chicken breast looks like it’s been boiled or something strange really odd texture and slimy. Food cold, garden peas rock hard, sausages really cheap think they’ve changed them. Mash is like power mash leaves funny taste and onion rings always soggy. A real shame as this was a lot of people’s go to pub seems to have rapidly gone down heel. However drinks are good and reasonably priced.

Always look forward to going to the Lamb when we visit parents in Worthing. It’s a nice relaxed atmosphere, clean and a good selection of food and drink. Our kids enjoy the outdoor play area where it’s easy to keep an eye on them. Food is reasonably priced with some food deals to be had Monday-Wednesday and themed days on Thursday’s. Drinks are about standard for the area. Service was very good and we didn’t have to wait long for our food. The only issue I had was that my low & slow beef rib was extremely fatty. Oh and be wary of the car park if you have a big car!

We have been to the Lamb Inn many times in the past, some visits have been good, some not soo , unfortunately this evening was the worst...a long wait... and cold dried up inedible food which had obviously been waiting under the lights for a long time...not impressed at all, we didn't eat our food and left it on the table...we don't mind a wait but we do mind not being able to eat food we have paid for!

Really good value for food and drink. Staff are very friendly and polite. The tables are always clean.
