Very good value for money, and home cooked food

Nice beer, food was really good and recommended. Staff were really polite and helpful.

Eat Sunday lunch at the Henty arms there was a party of 8 of us and we a superb meal really large helpings great menu really well priced staff were very good too have eaten here several times before and have always been impressed will return again when in the area.

While we were out today. We called in this pub for the first time. On entering staff we're very friendly and welcoming. Place was lovely and clean spotless in fact. Food was very tasty and hot freshly cooked. Allowed dogs inside no complaints either when one of our dogs kept making a noise as we were sitting near the door when other dogs came in. Oops. Food was best I had for a while, reasonably priced and would highly recommend trying.

Great local pub great food and atmosphere with classic public and saloon bars. Reasonable prices as well. Support our pubs because when their gone they don't come back.

Had my 60th Birthday party there, was brilliant, lovely food, very helpful staff nothing too much trouble. Would definitely recommend. Fabulous

Once again we attended the SUET NIGHT and have to say that in future instead of 3 choices we shall have to reduce this to 2 choices from the menu as it was so very good and we were full! One day we would love to have the room to order the jam roll. We cannot wait for the next SUET NIGHT.

A friendly welcome - all the staff were lovely - and great food. We had roasts and a pie, all were very good as were the puddings. Service was excellent and very reasonable prices.

We visited the the Henty arms as a large group that our supper club had arranged. The food was excellent generous portions nicely cooked and delicious and my favourite sweet was served apple pie and custard the staff were excellent looking forward to my next visit

Chanced upon this pub and so glad we did. Friendly and welcoming staff . Plenty of choice on the menu and the food was hot and very tasty. Will definitely be going back there

It is so nice to be served home cooked quality food. Oh my gosh Vernon's homemade pies, I ate Venison pie...real pastry ✨️🫶🏽 so many restaurants serve frozen food dressed up. Dine here and enjoy a real fire, cask ale and a reminder of proper quality food made in house.

A really nice pub with a welcoming atmosphere. The staff were very helpful catered to my fussy kids with minimum fuss. They had plenty of gluten free options and the food was excellent. A nice touch was that, having mentioned we'd have two kids with us, they had some colouring books and pens on the table when we arrived. Very thoughtful.

Ale selection not great. Food looked good. Atmosphere was ok for a Monday lunchtime.

Stopped here for a drink on our way out to eat. It's a big pub but it was very quiet. The landlord was very friendly as were the people in the pub. Large selection of beers, wines and spirits. The food menu looked good as well. There was pool and bar billiards l, sky sports on the TV, a big outside area (partially covered and with heat lamps) as well as a children's play area out the back. Seemed like a nice pub all round.

A nice local pub for local people. Lots of tables in the garden and you can do some train spotting if that's your thing. Food served most of the time. Not as cheap as some pubs.

Love this pub, been coming here since I was little. Good choice of cider, pool table is good and there's a choice of two bars.

There were 15 of us for Sunday lunch to celebrate a 90th Birthday. The food was fantastic with generous portions and enjoyed by all. The service was friendly and efficient and with some of us coming from far afield there was no pressure on us to leave and some remained well past our booked time. A lovely afternoon was had by all.

Had visited with a group before at Christmas - so decided to book a table at the Henty Arms with some friends for lunch. The meal was lovely, staff were very pleasant and we had two Golden Retrievers with us who were also welcomed...nice to find a really dog friendly place. Will definitely return again.

Been using this place on and off for years and never disappointed. A proper traditional village pub serving well kept ales. Great value home cooked food. Thoroughly recommended

Must say was not expecting it at first, but the food was lovely. Freshly cooked and in abundance. Extremely friendly service. Nice, cosy and welcoming atmosphere. Perfect place to end your day after a day by the sea.

Visited this pub for drinks last night. Half the pumps weren’t working, all the bottled drinks were warm, bar person was rude as if she didn’t want to be there, after a few minutes neither did we. No atmosphere, won’t be returning.

Really lovely roast, tasty, tender meat. Fresh vegetables and super gravy. Good Atmosphere and service. Excellent value and a varied menu.

Family and dog friendly pub. Cat park, outside spaces, decent range of beers. Didn't eat but everyone else's food looked pretty good! We went for the Bank Holiday event which was excellent. Thank you, we will be back!!

A very nice friendly traditional pub with a log fire , very cosy . Well worth a visit with a selection of hand pulled bitters and very tasty too . A small group of friends regularly meet at the Henty , we by pass a good few pubs just to enjoy the family friendly atmosphere .

What a delightful find. Last minute decision to go out for a pub lunch on a bank holiday. Amazing staff. Brilliant proper food (including a banana split!) All at a very reasonable price. We will be back.

Wow! What a li'l gem! We came for late lunch on a Sunday with our 4 year old son. The food was homemade and so good plus great value for what you get. They have an excellent selection of drinks (including three ciders on tap, which is a massive bonus for me, as someone who doesn't drink beer) plus there's a compact but fully equipped play area. It's maybe 5m by 8m, but it's got so much to keep the kiddo entertained!

Perfect spot for the area, very chill and pets are allowed, food was great and reasonably priced

Went there tonight for a meal. As before, lovely food (very decent it priced ) wonderful staff and the other customers were lovely too. My dog thoroughly enjoyed all the fuss too. Will definitely be visiting again. Thanks to all staff for making it a lovely meal out.

Pub has recently been refurbished. Staff extremely helpful. Enquiries made to book for a gathering. Finger buffet good price and options.

I very rarely write reviews but we had such a lovely meal here yesterday I wanted to tell you. We didn't know the area but we're looking for somewhere to eat and popped in on the off chance. We had our dog with us and were shown the area we could sit with him and we were all made welcome. My partner and I both had the cheese and bacon burgers and they were the nicest burgers we have had in a long time. Fresh and homemade. The staff were very friendly and even supplied our dog with some biscuits so he was happy too.

We dropped by tonight on the off chance we could get a table and dinner, and am so pleased we did! We were welcomed in by lovely staff, a nice atmosphere with open fire going. The food was amazing and as we ordered two main meals off the Monday/Tuesday offer the price was extremely reasonable 👍 quiz sheet & coloring for our youngest was a added bonus 😀 I would definitely recommend and we will back back near future!

We met friends here for lunch whilst on holiday. Really warm welcome, and lovely food. We'll be back before the end of our holiday.

Ferring is fortunate to have a village pub but The Henty lacks atmosphere , it is so quiet and the lighting is too bright, background music , table and floor lamps in my opinion would make it more inviting. There is now more competition in the village so for me needs some big changes . Drinks were fine, didn’t eat, menu usual burgers, pies , fried pub food.

Went with my partner for a reunion with old friends. We were treated to a buffet which was very nice. Only downside was not enough choice of ales for my partner.

First time here for many years and we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of food, good service and nice atmosphere at this pub. We will be back on a regular basis in future - a lovely traditional local pub with great food.

Very good service and the pub is kept clean and well maintained. The menu had a wide range of dishes from light bites to main meals. Unfortunately we found that either the quality of the ingredients or the way in which they were cooked/prepared for service was very poor, the overall impression being a complete lack of flavour. For example: French beans were soggy; new potatoes tasted as if reheated; chips were soggy; the sauce in the chicken pie was tasteless, translucent, luke warm & gelatinous; chicken, cheese & cranberry wrapped in bacon was dried out, the cheese had little flavour and there was no sign of a cranberry! If we visit again perhaps we will try a sandwich!

About a year ago I had to post,regretfully,a poor review for this pub but after a refurbishment in the last few months and having heard some decent reports we decided to give it another go. We returned with the same friends as on our last visit for a meal and were very pleased that the food now seems to be back on form. All our plates of food were nicely cooked and presented and there were certainly generous portions. Having been patrons of the pub for over 30 years it was very much a relief! Service was good and as usual very friendly. Obviously not hote cuisine but good honest pub grub. I do hope they continue to keep up this standard. My only concern was that the pub was almost empty apart from a group of regulars who came in for a beer mid evening. It was a Wednesday and we did not eat late so would have thought that it would have been busier!

Nice little local village pub, plenty of parking and outside areas. Not a huge choice on the menu, especially non meat eaters but it's adequate and fairly priced. Good service and nice and clean.

Beer festival weekend. Huge choice of beers and ciders probably 50 or so. Evening had live music. Only drawback was the ciders (10 choices) had pretty much sold out by mid Saturday evening...

Beer festival started on Friday and by 7.00 on Saturday with another day to go , lots of the beers were finished. So thought we would have a regular pint in the pub , staff under pressure and had run out of glasses. Moved on.

Nice meal after work, very friendly could do with a spot of salad in the burgers but we got a side that had a bit of salad... otherwise really nice 🙂

Didn't have any food so can't past judgement. The overall atmosphere when I was in there , was off fun and nice feeling atmosphere. The service was very quick and efficient . The pub itself was very relaxed has a nice austetic.

A country pub close to the 700 bus route. There are two bars, a lounge and a public. The lounge is more focussed on food, but you are welcome just to have a drink. At the rear is a large beer garden. The pub has recently been redecorated/refurbished. Dog friendly. There is usually a beer festival in July.

Food was not great. Had Sunday lunch and it seemed veg was microwaved, potatoes fried not roasted. Flavourless meal overall

Recently had some new paint, and a nice garden area outside with heaters, which has refreshed the place. Food is good and food area is nice.

We love this pub, the welcome is always warm and friendly. The food excellent and the puddings are delightful. We have visited many times and have found the service always of high standard. The refit has added to the overall experience as well. You can tell they love what they do.

What lovely lunch we had at the Henty Arms today. Fantastic menu with so much variety. Food was delicious and we were looked after by the lovely Charlie who was excellent. Can't wait to return

Following a recent refit this great local venue is back and better than ever.

Entrance was a bit dodgy, not very level for my elderly parents. Drinks usual prices, can't comment on food as didn't eat there but considering the bar was busy we were served fairly quickly and friendly staff

Returned today after their refurb, which is very nice & bright. The staff were so welcoming, ambience was great & food was excellent. Sweethearts Melodies were superb, looking forward to our next visit.
