Wm Morrisons Cafe in Calderdale

Excellent customer service from Holly in the cafe this morning. She totally exceeded my expectations and it was clear how was she the same with other customers. Even something as simple as being honest about the strength of the teabags. So many cafes will only give you one tea bag but I was told that if the tea was too weak then take another teabag.

Absolutely shocking, cold, soggy hash browns and toast, beans were dry and crusty on the top. Extra bacon was ordered and apparently it was stuck to the other slice.

Shocking customer service, food had to be sent back and still the order was wrong. Food was uncooked, no cutlery out even when the staff were told, all staff were behind the counter on their phones !

Today I went with close family to just have a breakfast & was told by an embarrassed member of staff "there's no sausage" so asked what discount for the full breakfast without the sausage? None was the reply! We were given 4 instead of two slices of bacon. This was not that good "a bit dry & fatty edge" the flat mushroom was barely cooked, the half tomato was fine & beans in tomato sauce edible, toast burnt on one side but the fried egg perfect & hash brown was fine. The coffee machine had a sign on it to be cleaned but a young lady brought me one from elsewhere. The cafe was clean & the staff helpful but oh dear there's room for improvement. I certainly won't go back anytime soon.

disgusting .........i said theres no cups .he put a tray full out ..i picked up 3 or 4 each one filthy .next to me lady said ,they are all dirty ...3 i held had sugar in bottom still ...ohh lad serving said .its not sugar ,,its condensation .ps he never moved trom till ,to even look at them .i walked away

Popped in to get a birthday card / gift for my partner, may as well have breakfast while I’m here , oh a touch screen thing to order from pointless but I’ll play along, full English I think poached eggs please, oh not available… ok I’ll have scrambled and a cappuccino please…. Not available oh ok I’ll have tea , £7.95 a bit steep but I suppose I’ve got to eat , please take a tray … there arnt any …. Please take a flag and enter number below …. Non of them either, no one around to speak to . Forget it!

Went to the cafe which was disgusting and unclean, then proceeded to do some shopping, which for the benefit of this review and trip advisor is the same location and not a different place, the IT system failed but still took the money from my bank the store manager Danny Walsh made me pay again, my money was not refunded and I had to go back and request my money to be returned to me again at my own expense, no offer of any compensation for the cost of travelling there to correct their error. Danny Walsh needs his position revoked He is aggressive, threatening, confrontational and has zero customer service skills

Came in for lunch today, counter dirty, all Round drinks are filthy, cup trays also dirty...dontthink I will be back anytime soon

You know, the food here is really good, but the place is absolutely filthy and badly run. I keep giving it ‘another try’ thinking things will improve but it’s getting worse. Filthy cutlery station - I had to ask someone to clean! The young lady serving was polite but said “yes I’m doing it now - I’ve been busy serving” No clean teaspoons, spilt milk and old crumbs and debris on the work surface. Coffee machine spewed coffee out and wouldn’t stop! Three attempts later (all that wasted coffee) and the cup was filled perfectly and stopped when full! Two weeks ago, my daughters first three choices of cooked food had run out! Who is managing this place? How hard can it be? Not enough staff, empty tables cleaned but no-one seems to check the seats which are covered in crumbs and split drinks. Dire hygiene care.

Quick service despite the computer system not allocating table numbers, This just made things difficult for the staff who did try to be helpful. the food would have been rated as pretty good if it had been hot, but it was all just luke warm, which was a shame, large breakfast was served in a large pasta bowl, which was a big strange!!

45 mins later and we are still waiting for our food. We didn't get the offer on the free kids meal as the young lad didn't know how to amend the till. All tables dirty and 1 member for staff doing all the work, taking orders, serving and cleaning. Employee more staff Morrisons it's ridiculous

We ordered through the screen booking system and found a seat. We then watched as everyone behind us in the queue received their meals. 45 minutes later (the last table to be served) and we received our food. When we went to get cutlery there wasn’t any. When asking the staff they said they were in the dishwasher and we would have to wait. When I complained that our food after waiting 45 minutes for it, was now getting cold we were told we’d just have to wait. There was no apology or even good manners from the staff. Then when we did get to eat our food despite it being cold it was also very poor quality - it’s not hard to make decent chips!! Very disorganised and lacking in basic customer service. Will not be visiting again.

Organised madness....No staff you have to wait up to 3/4hr to get a seat yet all the seats are empty! Staff do not adhere to covid 19 guidelines and they have not a clue what is going on....they make you wait and when you ask why it is such a shambles they say err not sure!! It is madness. Food when you get it is ok. Morrisons Manager you should be ashamed either employ more staff or close it down.

The measurements put in place for covid are excellent. The cafe is nice and clean all the staff are wearing face coverings and are very friendly. The food is delicious and very well priced. Will deffinately be going again. Well done cafe staff keep up the good work.

Used to go every week for yrs for breakfast -stopped due to food and service been poor- went last week food cold- not sure why it’s gone soo downhill in last 12 months

The cafeteria has really gone downhill these past few months. The coffee machines have needed refilliing EVERY time we have visited in the past 2 months and we visit a couple of times a week. You wait ages for food that when appears is most unappetising, in fact we have stopped eating cooked food there now. You only have to see the amount of food left on plates on tables. The seating area is dirty looking, the bench seats are poor to sit on as they are broken in places and lean one way. The tables are dirty most of the time. There are not enough staff on to cater for the number of people wanting to use the place. The staff just don't seem to be trained properly and some if them just look fed up and that is not a good thing. If you don't like the job then leave! One member of staff who was on the till yesterday was really abrupt when we told her the milk needed refilling in BOTH coffee machines. These are not checked often enough. Come on Morrisons, get it sorted before you lose customers.

Called for lunch & a brew, staff where polite and helpful. Food was nice & fresh, would return when I’m next doing my shopping

The cafe is shocking, 40 mins waiting for our order, then had to go and ask where it was, I saw it sat there waiting and and pointed it out to the staff, she then went and took another order out before she brought ours, the order was wrong so she went and changed it, when it came back it was clap cold so I took it back, they were rude to me and said 'what do I expect when they are busy' when the food came back it was frazzled and thrown on the plate and tasted awful. STAY WELL AWAY.

It’s always nice to call in for coffee whilst shopping. Good grade coffee and super fresh sandwiches and cakes, and all at ridiculously low prices.

Called for a quick lunch before shopping. Nothing quick about it. Queued ages to get served. I had soup which was supposed to come with ‘baked in store’ bread roll. Also ordered salmon and cucumber sandwich. Sandwich was awful stale dry bread. When soup came - which was ok as tinned - the ‘baked in store’ bread roll was a slice of the same dry stale bread, no butter. Needless to say didn’t eat it. Tables filthy not enough staff to clear them. Waited ages for food to be delivered. Definitely wouldn’t go back

Sunday morning breakfast,decent menu,fairly priced,good service clean and tidy,would recommend,eggs come either fried,scrambled,poached,bonus.

Went to this Morrisons Café yesterday teatime, ordered Salmon with Hollandaise Sauce with New Potatoes and Peas plus a coke zero. Salmon was lovely, No Hollandaise sauce as they had "run out" not informed before my meal, offered tartare! The New Potatoes were uncooked and rock hard and the peas were cold. To top it off the coke zero was flat. £5.75 would have been better popped in a charity jar..

Food was disgusting, tables still not cleared and there was hardly anyone eating... never again it tasted disgusting. Didn’t even finish it and inside the tissue is a rock hard black pudding !

The service at Morrison’s is shocking! Cued for 10 mins to get told that the food would be over half an hour wait.

Came for lunch with my parents, my dad ordered before I got there as I was coming from work. We saw our food on the pass and asked if we could take it as at this point we had been waiting 25 minutes! No she would bring it over. Another 5 minutes went by and finally it was brought over. My dad had ordered stew and dumplings and they were dry so he asked if he could have gravy. The woman said it comes with gravy already, and could he taste it before deciding. It was clearly bone dry so I asked again if she could bring a pot of gravy! My dads dumplings were hard from being sat on the pass so long. We won't be going again! Plus dirty cutlery!

Went to Morrisons for a quick breakfast but won't be going again. Yes, it is good value but the poached eggs on toast took over 30 minutes to arrive and the eggs were only just luke warm and solid little mounds. I know they are cheap and poached eggs are quite a art form but come on.....!!!!!!!

went for lunch today at 1pm, wanted hot soup and a bread roll, what I got was COLD carrot soup and a SLICE OF GRANARY bread, service was appalling, most of staff yelling loudly, no milk for tea, cutlery looked like it hadn't been washed for days, the one member of staff serving the meals was rushed off her feet and the one on the till kept disappearing, it used to be a good choice for a meal but not at the moment, staff need telling and also no clean tables and dishes stack was flowing over with items, absolute disgrace

The food at this cafe is very good but the lack of customer service is appalling, Dirty tables, no cutlery, dirty mugs and empty cardboard boxes littering the floor.

When this Morrisons opened a few years ago, the cafe & staff were so good,the food was extremely good & the cafe staff were amazing.

Visited the cafe at lunchtime on 13th of June 2018 .i ordered a jacket potato with tuna.

Average place to dine but often slow service due to lack of staff .Food is ok but on my last visit one girl had to do everything out front ....serve , clear tables ,fill cutlery tray and be on the till and it was busy .

Tuna jacket and salad, what a feast, also had the garlic mushrooms followed by treacle sponge and custard 🍮. Loads to eat, great quality and freshness. We will be back!

Bloody awful place, Staff are not interested. Food is tasteless , It needs a good supervisor to put this place right,

I have been to this café many a time and on every occasion the order that arrived at the table has been wrong or missing items and there's never an apology.

Been here two weekends in a row with my family of 4. Food is really nice, hot and freshly prepared. I had a burger and side salad. My kids liked the kids lunchboxes. Don't really keen on the coffee but that's just personal preference.

Un salto para usar el baño y comer algo en la ensalada griega vio en la cafetería parecía increíble cantidad de aceitunas y pimientos y queso feta una gran porción de vinagre de vestidor. Muy crujientes verduras bien vale la pena el dinero y no era tan caro.

Freshly cooked , huge breakfast , amazing value for money . Staff nice and friendly too . We would definitely recommend if you are staying nearby ( Travelodge and premier inn )

He estado un par de veces para el desayuno y la cena la comida no está mal, pero no es barato y no es limpia. El gran desayuno no es grande y cobrar una libra por un pedazo de pan y no incluyen una copa, así que el precio al final es alrededor de 8 libras no vamos a volver en una prisa?

Fui con un amigo el miércoles temprano en la tarde. Nosotros sólo queríamos una bebida caliente, así que no te fijas en la comida. Es self-service - tome una tetera que ya cuenta con una bolsita y llenarla con agua caliente. El té era bueno y era barato, pero eso es lo mejor que puedo decir. Las tapas de teteras estaban sucios si lo hubiese sido en agua sucia y swilled izquierda para desagüe, las mesas estaban sucias y todo el lugar parecía sucia.

Prices very good but breakfast cold and very long queues . People seem to be leaving a lot of food . Sham normally good .

I have been to morrisons cafe 3 times this year and never had hot food, I went on Monday with my friend, she had a sandwich and some chips, I ordered an omelette meal.

First thing I would say is don't bother with this place as there is much better breakfast establishments very close by were you get a better quality breakfast for a decent price. My first time I had breakfast here I thought the food would be up to a good standard but it seemed like they was just using the morrisons own products and charging double the price ,the breakfast itself was not filling and you had to pay more for toast or a tea/coffee which you would normally get free elsewhere, I can't comment on the other meals as I have not had anything else from there but if it's a Breakfast your after I would stay clear and go else were.

He visitado para desayunar cinco o seis veces durante su estancia en el cercano hotel Travelodge. Siempre tuvimos la gran desayuno que ha sido siempre muy bien preparado, las porciones son muy generosas, y una excelente relación calidad-precio. El personal es agradable, limpio y espacioso. No dudaría en volver a comer aquí de nuevo.

We arrived and ordered our food at 1150 - 1 x bacon and eggs & 1 scrambled eggs on toast. We waited 35 minutes for our food, went to the counter and asked where it was and it arrived a few minutes later. There were a lot of other people waiting a long time for food and some asked for their money back. We won't be going again - appalling service.

Whilst the eclectic mood and ambience can not be denied in this restaurant, I was left somewhat disappointed by the food. On arriving I waited at the entrance patiently to be seated, on seeing others using a tray system I realised I was making a similar mistake as I had recently made at McDonalds. Your order is taken at 'the till' where array of pictures on cards allow you to visualise your meal before selection. It was at this point I realised there was no wine list. However, the attached 'deli' is huge with literally two isles of wine so it may be possible to use this and pay corkage, however we didn't ask. Having paid for your meal upfront you are then provided with a number and given the freedom to choose your own table. The waitress was asked for recommendations or specials, but appeared unbriefed by the chef. We tried to order a tuna baked potato each, but were advised the had run out, so opted for chilli potatoes. The food took slightly longer than expected and it was clear the potatoes had been microwaved rather than baked. A tip for anyone ordering potatoes is to check whether they are described as jacket potatoes or baked potatoes. I imagine someone microwaving potatoes and calling them baked potatoes was at some point subject to legal challenge, and therefore the name jacket potato often is used where potatoes are microwaved to avoid any such legal argument. On this occasion I failed to spot the subtle naming change so am unable to criticise the difference in the technique of preparing said potatoes. All that said, the meal was adequate and we left with a full belly to peruse the attached deli. As stated, this is vast and surprisingly busy. However, we discovered roughly 4000 tins of tuna and several hundred different mayonnaise products (bottles/squeezy/jars etc) this soured our dining experience somewhat as it was clear the restaurant had the stick to prepare the meal we initially wanted but chose not to. For that reason I will have to mark them down slightly. Parking for this restaurant is excellent.

Went on a Sunday. My husband had the roast beef dinner. Mash not creamed just dry & lumpy, beef looked very dry & hard, yorkshire pudding he couldn't even cut and very thin watery gravy. I had the chicken wrapped in bacon with bbq sauce which came with chips & onion rings (if you can call them that) oh, and some coleslaw which was thin & tasteless. Don't think we will go again.

Tried breakfast and evening food microwaved bacon and sausage microwaved pies terrible ignorant and rude staff been to Morrisons cafes and they have been okay this simply the worst would never go again

The café in morrisons usually has unclean tables. Things on the menu are not in stock. When ordering you can wait up to 45 mins for your food to arrive. And you usually end up chasing extra items for example when ordering a breakfast chasing extra bread.

We had breakfast here when we stayed in new Brighton recently. We had the full breakfast which was good value. It does get busy but I think that shows how good value the food is.

You cant expect much from a supermarket cafe but you should be able to get food which is properly cooked. Sadly the two hash browns on my plate were stuck together, when separated they middle was still frozen. The rest of it was fine but no check back was performed and when i managed to get the attention of a staff member i just got a blank look, as if i was an idiot for daring to mention my food wasn't cooked.

A good place to go if you want an in-expensive bite to eat. Restaurant nicely elevated with friendly staff and a good atmosphere. Always busy.

Various dishes offering good value for money. Especially good at tea time when children get to eat for free (if adult meal paid for) Friendly and helpful staff.

Just morissons as standard. Good sanwiches, i love the chocolate milkshake. My friend had sausage and mash and it was good too!

If you fancy a cheap plentiful fry up on probsbly a dirty plastic table with basic customer service then this is the place for you. Would recommend on a Sunday for a hangover cure however 'fine dining' it aint!

Called in for a late lunch whilst shopping, it is good grub. Nan had salmon the BOSS had braised beef and I had a pie. They were all tasty, it was very busy so we had a bit of a wait. Staff were good, but the seating is not very comfortable. Good value though.

went today after shopping, later lunch so not too busy. Staff really helpful and time for us. We had the all day vegetarian breakfast, 3.25 and well worth it. We didn't have to wait too long either and it was hot when it arrived.

As a Disabled person the staff can not do enough for you the food is ok and basic but the currys are well worth a go

My family and I were more than ready for lunch when we finished our shopping. We all decided on a bacon sandwich and were not disappointed. The tea cake which the bacon was in was fresh and the bacon filling tasty and generous. can recommended.
