Fantastic food, looked at a few reviews saying expensive but it's actually great value for money, is it the same price as Greggs? No! But your not going to get food like we did, Pastrami, cheese, pickles with Russian dressing in a toasted sandwich and Chicken & Bacon sandwiches washed down with a great Latte and Oreo milkshakes. A little Gem that's worth a few pennies more for great produce from an individual independant business.

At relatively short notice I asked Hebden Sarnies to make packed lunches for a group I brought to Hebden for five day walking holiday. They happily obliged, and produced delicious sandwiches and scrumptious cakes for us. The whole group was full of praise for the quality, the quantity and the taste of what was on offer. We'd recommend Hebden Sarnies to anyone wanting tasty food. Thanks guys. Keith

Staff who served us were lovely . Didn’t see our sandwiches as they were in boxes and got take out . Got stuck in traffic on way home and decided to tuck in !!! Imagine the disappointment when you have paid £23 and what you have is a poor excuse for lunch . I’ve seen better looking meal deal sandwiches. I’m shocked this place is still in business it was so dry and hardly any filling on limp bread . Safe to say I won’t be returning I would rather make my own ……EDIT !!!!!!!!!!!……. Just like to add that the owner has decided to tell me I was wrong ( see below) I’m not wrong I wish I had taken a photo ! Overpriced sandwhich aimed at Tourists who pay these prices not us locals who support local buisness and get ripped off !

The experience was horrible, but the food was worse! The cook was literally throwing crockery very loudly every time anyone dared order a sandwich. He berated the young girl working the till, complaining and being rude and nasty. Then the food came. I saw the guy dropping off stickered on date Warburtons white bread, which I was then served as burnt toast with cold, gross old leather bunrt bacon, probably left over from breakfast and the limpest, grossest salad leaves ever after waiting about 30 minutes with only 2 other customers there. I would have complained, but was literally scared of what the guy in the kitchen would do or shout or throw. So I just left after taking about 2 bites of it. 2 bites too much. It's not an exaggeration to say that Asda meal deal sandwiches are way higher quality than what I was served and paid £9.00 for. What a waste of money. AVOID at all costs!! 🤮

On returning to where we were staying several miles away I suddenly remembered I had left a bag with a new top in it. I have just received a phone call from the manager who so kindly said he would post it to me. I offered to transfer money & he said no it was ok it was no bother. Very kind. Overpriced and shocking. spent £8 (£7 for the sandwich plus £1 for the gluten free bread) on a tuna toastie. I am genuinely so unsure as to how the ‘chef’ wasn’t embarrassed bringing this out, the fact it was burnt was the least of my issues- there was hardly any filling and 90% certain there wasn’t even any cheese in it. This sandwich not only looked like it cost 50p but it couldn’t have been anymore than 50p to make either. All the other sandwiches we also ordered were seriously lacking ingredients, things listed on the menu were no where to be seen & everything was pretty dry. Not only this, the ‘chef’ was waltzing around with a tea towel around his gross sweaty neck and could smell smoke which makes me think the chef clothes are not only being worn in the kitchen. overall, I would avoid this place unless you’d like a dry overpriced sandwich with a side of sweat.

I asked for a simple tuna / cheese pannini, after the chef / sandwich maker had finished talking very loud it came with a tomato chutney on the bottom & fries came with a sprinkle of salt of his bare fingers completely put me off , we told guy at counter about tomato sauce on pannini, he did offer me a new one but the open kitchen antics had put us off !!! We left eating nothing , so fries will probably go back in the fryer , one hour before we mentioned take away fish & chips but because it was heavy rain we wanted inside we returned to chippy & it was delicious £8.20 well spent not £16 for rubbish 🤑

Really disappointed. I visited here with my partner a few weeks ago and it was lovely, returned today with my mum and had a less than enjoyable experience. Despite having no prior warning, the food took an extremely long time. We accepted this as it was busy although were concerned about the amount of time food was left out on the side. We were also concerned about the chef having a dirty tea towel around his neck and yelling at his staff. It became particularly disruptive when he began to yell at a customer who complained about the wait and loudly swore over the heads of other costumers. The food was to an acceptable standard although not particularly warm.

The cafe had a good vibe to it however we did come out of the experience, feeling that we did overpay for what we actually got. We ordered a toastie and it looked / tasted that it needed to be in longer. When we checked, the cans of pop we ordered had expired best before dates, had we not let the owner know, I do not think he would have been aware. Chef had his radio on, though you could hear the cafe music (lovely) the radio was loud enough for the owner to tell him to turn it off. £18 for a tea, toastie, crisps and Diet Coke did seem quite a lot for what was brought to the table. Overall, glad to have tried but I unfortunately do not think we will be back.

SECOND EDIT: The owner has obviously added several new reviews to his faltering business (around 10 added today and each profile only has one review, which is Hebden Sarnies). Had the owner not been so disrespectful to us yesterday he wouldn’t have had to go through all this effort.. EDIT: The “vegan cheese” was not vegan as my husband has now come out in welts as he is allergic to milk. Expect a visit from environmental health. Boasts fantastic sarnies but my experience today I beg to differ. See photos below for two sandwiches that cost £22.50. High school panini bread and served in a cardboard box. I was expecting artisan sourdough bread packed with flavour and ingredients -as stated in the description- for the price. Meat tasted of actual poo so asked if I could have a refund as I couldn’t wait another half hour to be served. I’d taken one bite of it and was met with a piece of rock solid mass in my mouth. Asked the waitress (who was actually lovely) if we could have a refund as we had a day out planned and didn’t have time to wait. We could see her (poor thing) approach the owner and ask if we could have a refund. We could see him fling his arms around so we knew the answer, which he bluntly told us was no as he said “there is nothing wrong with the food.” My husband approached and we could smell the tobacco on his clothes from the till. Upon approaching the open kitchen we could see his packet of tobacco littered across the work surface. Chef was unwashed and stank. Regardless, young lasses serving us were lovely but the food tasted like actual faeces and half the ingredients were missing. Two below-average sandwiches and two tins of Diet Coke for £22.50. We will not be returning.

Came here whilst visiting Hebden Bridge. Didn't come here for any other reason other than they had spaces on what was a busy Saturday. There was plenty choices of food and drinks. The food took a while to arrive and when it did there were huge gaps in stuff coming out. I appreciate there was 10 so i'm assuming they couldn't cope with such a big order but it meant some of us were eating and some of us wern't.

Our experience echoes other in here; staff were friendly enough but the food was bland and tasteless and we were charged at extortionate rates. I would like to emphasise that there is NO allergen list on the menu and the staff could not answer my query about the presence of allergens on the bagel menu (poppy seeds specifically). Yes, it was a cold bleary January day yesterday, but the windows had completely steamed up and the shop had a stale smoky smell to it. We waited around 30 minutes to be served despite the floor being relatively quiet, and we were really disappointed with the quality of the food we were served. We are staying in Pecket Well and got speaking to some locals at the Robin Hood Inn about places to visit in Hebden Bridge. We had mentioned our experience yesterday at Hebden Sarnies and we’re told to stay well clear. We only wished we had known that piece of information before we parted with almost £30 for two sandwiches and two coffees. We were, however, highly recommended the Thai restaurant down the road, Rim Nam Thai. Unless major changes are made we will not be returning.

Worst place I have ever visited. My partner ordered a full breakfast, and said to the chef(using the term chef loosely) that the sausage was cold. He came across and picked the sausage up, and said they felt warm to him, and then proceeded to touch the bacon. He then said do you want another breakfast..... Damn right we did, after he had put his hands on the food. I ordered double bacon on toast, which when it arrived, he said yes that's double bacon(4 very small pieces) not even enough to make half a sandwich. He said nobody else had complained about the food, but we witnessed it with another customer, whilst we sat waiting for our breakfast I felt sorry for the young girl behind the counter, having to work with such an awful obnoxious person. There are better sandwich shops in Settle, so don't waste your money on this place.

This place is not as it used to be. It used to be our go to place in Hebden Bridge but won't be now. Paid £7 for a small toasted sandwich with no accompaniments (crisps/ salad/ coleslaw). The owner opened the door twice during our lunch (it was about 0 degrees outside). The second time, I asked him to close it as we were already sat in coats and getting cold. He was dismissive and said that he needed it open because of moisture that was building up in the kitchen. This meant we had to sit in the cold. One saving grace was the young ladies who were serving. They tried their best despite having a boss who was not very customer service orientated.

We called in on a cold wet day because they said they were dog friendly. Couldn’t see what it was like from outside as windows were so steamed up. On entering the cafe the room was stifling with the smell of burnt fat. They definitely needed more ventilation or extraction from the kitchen, which was open to the seating area. When we left, the cooking smell was stuck to our clothes/hair 😫. The service and sandwich were good, although I thought overpriced for what we had.

Hebden was busy so stopped at a spare table here for a quick snack. Queuing everywhere but here. I now know why.. One cheese and ham toastie and one tuna and cheese toastie. Decaf tea for two. The toasties were made from the cheapest supermarket white bread. No other choice offered. No accompaniment with the toastie - such as coleslaw, salad - not offered condiments, No napkins. The tea was served in a grimy looking glass teapot with too much water for one teabag which resulted in a very weak brew. We should have complained but the waiting staff had a very poor attitude. A waste of money at £20. Waitress came to clear table and asked if I wanted to keep the tea, I said no thank you and she deliberately dropped the milk jug from a height into the cup of tea which overflowed and splashed everywhere. Staff need to improve their attitude/training. Would NEVER return nor recommend.

The family had a selection of lovely sandwiches including one with gluten free bread. Top notch all round, delicious, well presented, good portions and a varied menu. Excellent service too and great coffee as the cherry on the cake. Strongly recommended.

My Dad and I visited this lovely cafe today for the first time. Lovely and friendly owner and we both agreed our sandwiches were superb. Great selection of gluten free products as well both savoury and sweet. Our new fave eatery in Hebden 🤗

Called as seemed very busy,my wife ordered but took nearly forty minutes for our sandwiches to come. Place seriously understaffed with only two people,a girl taking orders and serving and a bloke cooking. He was very stressed. As a result tables not cleared and people turned away. My wife enjoyed her chicken, bacon sandwich but my double pattie was very disappointing and drenched in some kind of sauce. Feel there are much better options in Hebden

I had gammon, chips and egg. What I didn’t order is gammon, egg and chips swimming in grease and old grease at that. Worst food I’ve ever experienced and the place is a dive. It’s a shame because it was once a good place but now this place has been run in to the ground. I can still taste the grease two hours after eating it. 🤢

We have patronised The Larder for over 5 years, visiting once per month when over in the area on business. On our last visit we ordered two teas as well as meals. I asked if my pot of tea could have an extra tea bag as I find their brand too weak for my taste. The waitress told me to let it stew a bit. I repeated that I would prefer two tea bags and if it was a problem on this occasion I was happy to pay for it. However when the bill came I was horrified that I had been charged £3.00 for the extra tea bag and was reluctantly refunded £l.50. Needless to say we will not be patronising the establishment again. I just hope the lady sat with her dog didn't dare to ask for a bowl of water for it.

A good wetherspoons pub, lots of seating options available, good food and the staff were nice and friendly. It's located in the town centre so it's good for either a couple of pre drinks before a show at the theatre or if you want a nice and cheap bit of grub before you go "out out"

Best cafe in Halifax, so underrated. Make the best sandwiches to order, with the best lattes I’ve ever had. I used to come here with family over past 20 years. I visited again this month after living in New Zealand for the last 7 years, did not disappoint. Their sandwiches are what I crave when I’m overseas. 😍

Came here as just wanted a quick eat, (here for a few hours for Xmas market). Service was quick and friendly, considering they were busy. Had two toasted sandwiches - bigger than your average toastie, and nice big cups of coffee. Came with salad and crisps,. - very filling they were too . The only negative was we wanted something to eat later (maybe another toastie?), and they were no longer doing them. Couldn't get anything anywhere, considering we had a long coach trip.back. However it was a.nice place to go to.
