Withy Arms Leyland Old Town in South Ribble

Been many times for drinks but had dinner for the first time on Saturday and it was fantastic. I had a steak pie which was lovely. I’ll definitely be returning!

I can’t complement the landlord and his staff enough, their kindness and amazing service made my nans birthday wonderful

1 star is a bonus. What I witnessed can only be described as disgraceful. 2 kitchen staff arguing very very loudly. One called Alan or Arron. They came out of the kitchen and both staff looked under the influence and there was a strong smell of cannabis. It's put me off ever going again. I was going to speak to the manager but he was in no fit state either. The Brewery need to do a spot check visit.

Me and my husband ate at the Stag last week. We've never been before and we were very impressed. The food was incredible, my steak was cooked to perfection and the peppercorn sauce was SO tasty. My husband's meal was just as good. Our waitress was lovely, she took the time to tell us about some of the menu options. Would recommend - we'll definitely be coming back!

The places is falling apart (chairs, tables, outside area, all staff are drinking on shift, no one seems to know what’s going on, fag ends all over the floor, staff taking to each other with no respect, tables dirty. Music to loud in the kitchen, kitchen also looks dirty when passing. Will not be returning! Also not child friendly or accessible for the disabled

Saw the recent review of the roasts so booked a table for Easter Sunday. Took the dogs and sat outside in the booths. Tried the roast chicken dinner and it was delicious. The gravy is the nicest gravy I’ve ever tasted. The chicken was succulent, the roasties were spot on and the veg was perfectly cooked. The rest of the family tried the burgers which were also top notch. Will be returning for sure. Very impressed.

Just been for the first but not last time ! 4 adults, 3 kids sorted quickly. Fabulous roasts, smashed burger, loaded fries and fajita ! Now in a happy food coma 🥰 Thank you to all 💚

Once again the chef has surpassed himself with tonight's dinner. The belly pork was so succulent and tender. There was an explosion of flavours. I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. Thank you

The place was busy for 7pm on a Friday. Great atmosphere. We had tapas from a specials menu. Very reasonably priced, large portions and it was delicious. Bar staff friendly and helpful. There was a good range of beers all reasonably priced.

We got lucky and managed to book for a table of 6 for Mother’s Day the day before. Upon arrival we were shown to a nice table in the middle of the main bar area. The manager came and took our order, I didn’t catch his name but he was so lovely and waited on us perfectly. Three of our party had the cheese pie, the rest of us had the halloumi burger, halloumi fish and chips and regular fish and chips. All the food was delicious, very generous portions but without being over facing. The table we had was quite close to the door but throughout the meal the pub was very warm and comfortable. As we were leaving the manager was chatting to us and as we hadn’t been before, he told us to have a look at their massive beer garden before we left. We took a look and to our surprise, it was a huge, well equipped lovely space with an amazing view of the neighbouring church. Can’t wait to visit in summer and sit outside, it will be lovely. Thank you again to the amazing manager, it was very busy but the place was running seamlessly on what should have been a hectic and busy day.

Visited yesterday for Sunday lunch. It was busy but didn't have to wait too long. We both had roast beef and it was fantastic. Lots of fresh veg and loads of beef. It is always a fantastic atmosphere in there. Highly recommend

Sat 2nd march myself John wife Lynn and our family arrived at the stag for a nice get together and hopefully nice lunch. We absolutely loved the food. I have a gluten intolerance but was made very welcome with the lager sold and food that was available. The rump steak I had was top notch. All my family thurolly enjoyed there food also. Be back there soon .

I have been going to The Stag on and off for years and always liked the food. I have recently found out I am Gluten intolerant so find ordering in a pub/restaurant stressful. I noticed on the menu the rump steak and peppercorn sauce was gluten free along with the salt and pepper chips so decided to order that at the bar. Upon arrival I told the bar attendant I was gluten intolerant so the bar attendant asked the manager if my dish was Gluten free to which the manager very rudely replied speak to the kitchen staff yet it stated it was on the menu. I also asked if I could have salt and pepper chips instead of the ordinary ones to which the rude manager said I couldn’t. Never known an eating establishment tell you that you aren’t allowed something. The customer service has really gone down hill. It’s a shame I had this bad experience because the food was really good and so was the company. Hopefully this is just a one off.

Had a lovely Sunday roast here. Service was good, friendly staff and very tasty food, very good portions. The chefs and bar staff work non stop and do their best to provide a prompt service

Absolutely fantastic Sunday lunch!! Shared the creamy mushrooms with my friend, followed by a chicken dinner. You have managed to make a fussy girl full and happy, the chef is super helpful as are the staff… as Arnie says… I’ll be back xx

2 of us had Sunday lunch and I had a curry Very nice meals good sized portions took some home with us as too much. Basic pub with basic furniture almost rough and ready in a roundabout way . Not the last word in comfort. Lots of dogs in but having said all of this the food was jolly good. Staff good and quick service

Called into The Stag for a meal and my goodness I was not disappointed. Had the most gorgeous Spaghetti Bolognese! So tasty and I mean tasty. The flavours were amazing. Thank you Michael (the chef) for an absolutely gorgeous meal. I would highly recommend The Stag.

Okey for a quick tea style meal, average pub food ( not gastro). Travel bug likes to try out new places and would not recommend for a return visit.

Me and my friend came out on our first night out in a long while so we didn’t have a clue what we was doing, we came through the door and this gentleman clocked us came straight over and made us feel like he was apart of our family he’s such a amazing guy he made our night. Thank you so much carry on being you as your a credit to this place.

Visited this evening with my partner and 2 year old. Service was excellent, the quickest place we have been served since pubs opened up. Perfect heated outdoor area ( the best in leyland). Food was excellent. Staff were lovely and couldn't do enough, everything was very well organized. Couldn't fault a thing, will definitely be back.

Visited 22/04/21 for my gorgeous girls birthday 🥳 Food was awesome!! The manager and staff worked there socks off. Can’t wait till it opens up properly then live bands can return 🤞🏻🤞🏻

I’ve visited this place twice in the last few weeks. Once at lunchtime with 5 family members and again in the evening with 3 work colleagues.After reading the reviews I didn’t really know what to expect. However, on both occasions I really enjoyed it and found absolutely nothing to complain about.On the lunchtime visit we ate from the “Lunch including a drink” menu which is absolutely fantastic value. Each of us ate something different and all meals were presented well, piping hot and really tasty. The portions weren’t huge but just right for lunchtime. And being able to choose any Draught pint was something we haven’t seen before. Usually these types of offers have a very limited selection, so we thought that was brilliant.At the evening visit, again we all ate something different. Between the 4 of us we had a burger, a Withy special Pizza, a Fajitas and a Gammon. The portions were so generous and again everything was really hot and tasty. This pub is doing pub-grub really well and affordably. We’re going to try the Sunday lunch next which I believe also includes a drink. Both time’s the service was good. Attentive, but not over-bearing. We had table service the first time and used their App the second time. The app is really easy to use.We were also very happy to see the team keeping everything clean and Covid safe. Every so often, one of them would wipe everything down including all the door handles. Our cutlery was wrapped up which was nice to see and anyone wandering around without a mask was asked to cover their face immediately.All-in-all, this is a great pub and I’d recommend anyone to give it a try.

The standard at the withy arms have plummeted beyond belief.No covid precautions in place.Outside eating are now dilapidated and filthy, looks like no cleaning has been done outside for days or weeks.Grubby would be the best word.Food now barely average.Staff seem indifferent.We travel in from Preston to this venue but not again.Such a shame this place has gone so far downhill.

After a very enjoyable family day out we decided to grab some family time over some good pub grub, we booked in for 5.30pm, thinking a nice bit of food before heading home will set the kids off on there merry way for their last days of the summer break before heading back into the covid prepared world of school. How tainted this idea was. It’s now 7.30pm and only half of our part has received their troths if crusty pies and rubber chicken/gammon “steaks”. Definitely not what the reviews would suggest. Disappointment overset our family, one half with the quality and the other with hunger. Our precious 6 year old fighting the urge to chew her own hands off as she watched directly into the kitchen, order after order go in and food go out, but non for us. Enough is enough, and we must find another source of protein for the young one, before the dusk turns to night, the remains of the food some of us “lucky” souls received, left as a display and stark reminder of the mistake we made in taken for granted the success of our ideology. Peering into the kitchen, watching the chef pour cold veg into plates with his bare hands after scratching his face/nose asserted this covid safe place as somewhere we did not want to be! Asking one of the colleagues serving food (not waitress callibere) for the manager, the first response we had from any representative of this establishment was a grunt and gesture towards the bar. After re-explaining I wasn’t playing where’s wally, I genuinely would like her to get the manager, she turned and decided to retreat with a litter under the breathe. Fortunately my partner came to the rescue and decided to go to the bar as the poorly trained colleague with clearly no hospitality skills grunted, and spoke to the manager, who could not apologise any more and sought to make the problem right and give our whole party a re fund. Kudos to here. Shame the restaurant colleagues and chefs couldn’t put their customers first like the manager. With a refund and our stomachs full with nothing but bitterness and disappointment, we’re off to the processed land of kfc, at least we know what we’re getting there.

Went last Tuesday for eat out to help deal. We booked a Booth. The booth behind us was a group of unruly teenagers swearing n talking utter vulgar stuff. Spoke to hayley and she told them to calm it and moved us inside. Service was good but only due to hayley running around while the young ones chatted happily behind till not taking notice n being quite lazy leaving dirty plates on the tables for ages... But the Food was lovely x if it wasn't for hayley being attentive we would have never gone back. We then Booked for Sunday lunch and it was beautiful, and again we was looked after by hayley who deserves a pat on the back as she goes the extra mile to make your visit nice x

Visited during the Eat Out to Help Out promotion. Wasn’t able to claim 50% off soft drinks for some reason? When we asked the staff why, they couldn’t tell us, so we had to pay full price for drinks. We were seated in an outside hut, but the outdoor heater didn’t work. When asking a member of staff about the heater was just told “oh some of them don’t work”, she didn’t offer to move us to an empty hut and we had to ask to do this. Starters were brilliant, ordered the Black Pudding and bacon starter which was delicious. Main courses weren’t so good, my son and partner ordered fajitas, and my partners had a very strange cheesy taste. My sons was okay, but was overpowered by a burnt salty taste, probably from the skillets on which they were cooked/ served. I had the Fish Finger Butty which was okay. The chips accompanying this were really tasty though. Portion sizes good value for money, even on a normal day but this place was let down by the inattentive young staff, and at times a disregard for social distancing - to leave we had to pass through a narrow corridor past the bar, with three of the staff just perched at the end of the bar with no inclination to move out of the way.

We booked an outdoor booth, but they had no record of this when we arrived. We managed to still get one, but not where we wanted. Lovely food, and not too busy. Outdoor heating if needed.

We have been regular visitors to the Withy Arms over the last 7 years and always appreciated the wide range of beers, decent selection of food at a decent price and the wonderful outside booths during the summer months. But this week's visit proved to be a great disappointment for a couple of reasons and we won't be heading back in a hurry.EVEN AT HALF PRICE THE FOOD WAS NOT GOOD VALUE- There was a time when the standard menu was supplemented by several specials which changed on a regular basis - each was well cooked and nicely presented (ok not fine dining but good value considering the price point)- More recently the choice has been more limited but you could always rely on things being properly cooked- This week we visited as part of the 'Eat out to help out' deal. My gammon steak was so under-cooked as to be largely inedible, my wife's steak was well done vs the medium rare she asked for, both the chips and the veg were limp and not cooked from fresh. Other members of our party were similarly disappointed. When I raised this with the waiting staff I was told they would speak to the chef but we heard no more.COVID SAFE PROCEDURES NOT VERY APPARENT- We chose the Withy because it has some great outdoor booths and to be fair these were further enhanced by additional screening between tables- However to get there we had to walk through a crowded pub that looked pretty much like business as usual with most tables full, people around the bar, no obvious sanitisation for customers and no particular distancing measures in place (or enforced)- The app for ordering is a good idea but really clunky to use and we found certain items on the food menu weren't on the app so had to go and order at the bar anyway- There was no queuing at the bar, screening for the staff or face guards for the staff which felt a bit odd when ordering and when food was delivered to the table- So whilst I've been happy to go to the supermarket, the gym and other cafes I can't say I felt comfortable visiting the Withy this week

The Withy Arms, Leyland came to the rescue when I required a new venue to host my 40th birthday.Nothing was a bother for landlady Hayley and her team, the planning was easy, uncomplicated and effortless by Hayley. On the actual party day everything went to plan, the BBQ outside was perfect, the drinks were flowing and the team were on hand throughout. If you're looking for a party venue The Withy Arms is a great choice.The food and selection of ales that the Withy Arms serve are varied and fabulous. The pub is clean, neat and tidy and dog friendly which is always a bonus. The Withy Arms has become the pub we gravitate to now for a meal, drinks and meeting up with friends. Well done Hayley and team.

Attended a Private Party here on 25/7/20 and had a wonderful time. The Staff and Management are a credit to this Establishment. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Indeed they went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly and everybody had everything they needed. The food and barbeque was the best I have had for sometime. Will definitely recommend and will also go back soon myself. Thank you so much for a great time Sarah and Sam.

A really enjoyable meal. Well cooked and served by the friendly staff. Beer was good, too. Well worth a visit and we will certainly be coming back.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff, the specials menu and light bites are really good value and plenty of choice to suit everyone. Both the pub and the outdoor chalets are ideal for meeting friends and sharing some very well kept beer.

Fantastic food and beer at competitive prices. Far better than many other places in the area. Superb.

Came here for lunch on Christmas eve, nice selection of ales on offer, really friendly bar staff and had the option of sitting indoor or outdoors where they have little seating areas with your own heaters which even in -3 weather gets lovely and warm. Food was really nice and at a very reasonable price, will definitely be returning

Visited with my wife on Christmas Eve. Table booked for 7 o clock and arrived about 6-50, Don’t think they had reserved our table as no place settings. We were seated at a very inappropriate table between two large drinking parties with 3 dogs between them and they had to move there seats to let us in. We asked to be moved and at first they were all booked, but my wife pointed out a reasonable table that was not occupied. So we finally got seated and both ordered the lamb. Well an hour past and no food, in fact the manageress noticed and said she would sort it out. More time past and we complained again and were told our food would be 5 or 6 minutes which given the situation seemed ok. Ten minutes later the manageress came back to tell us there was no lamb left. Completely gob smacked, we asked for our money back and left, for fish finger butties at home. Why on earth did they not know they had no lamb when we first ordered.

Great selection of well cooked food. Can recommend the steak, pie, burgers and the beef ciabatta. Good selection of beers and lagers and can recommend the house red wine

I happened to drop in last month with a friend on our way back from the Leyland Lion. The wife drinks gin & tonic so I thought I would check out the cost of a large one before we visited for a meal - good job I did.large Tanqueray & tonic Leyland Lion = £3.85, Withy Arms =£9.57 or £10.27 with a "premium" tonic. Don't believe it? Check out the attached photos take October 2019.BTW, they allow dogs into the fretaurant.

Called in yesterday for Sunday lunch, hubby had beef, I had lamb. There was a warm welcome when we walked in from the lady behind the bar. The Sunday lunches were delicious, perfectly cooked fresh veg, home made roasties and Yorkie, and lovely tender meat, nice meat gravy, no frozen rubbish here. Was nice to see it was all fresh and homemade. I could see lots of people were eating as the pub is very popular for food. I will definitely be back!!!

Visited with a family of 3 on Sunday 3rd November looking forward to a Sunday roast.

Visited on Sunday 3rd November at 5pm for an evening meal, it was absolutely terrible! I had ordered the Withy Burger which was certainly nothing special. I had asked for steak cut chips but received skinny fries, no onion rings even though it was supposed to come with it and the burger was very dry. Will certainly not be returning and would not recommend.

This is a genuinely friendly pub, with staff who are happy to go the extra mile. I've been in for three meals recently and it's always been good food, generous portions, and quick service.

first time visit since it has had a refurb (looks rubbish by the way). we went in on a sunday this used to do home cooked food at least we thought it was. Thought it would be home made now but isn't at all, I had to get a vegan sunday lunch as the other other thing I was able to eat was sold out, they don't even do normal sandwiches they are all toasted ones/paninis, any how mine came broccoli was rock hard you could hear my knife hit the plate when i cut into it, there were leeks done in about half a pound of butter they were awful, the new potatoes looked like they had been put straight onto the plate and they were rock hard too so were the roast potatoes, my husband got the burger now he loves his food especially burgers he left more than a half of one said they were worse than tesco cheap burgers and the bun didn't feel at all fresh. As for the cappuccino wow the cup wasn't even full they didn't even do hot milk to add to it only hot water and there was no foam either what a crap machine. We will never recommend it for food to anyone and won't return for food either. Those who give more than 1 star don't know what home made food actually is very sad very disappointed , didn't even get asked how our food was, i left a note

Just had one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. We didn’t know the kitchen was closed and the chef opened it back up and kept checking in on us. Couldn’t fault anything, the food was delicious

Arrived at just after noon on a mid week day.

First visit since the refurbishment, to be honest looks much the same and the menu had not changed. Had a lovely table in the sun and ordered food via the app. Served well and was tasty, will probably go back but probably not rush back.

Have been visiting family in Leyland for many years, and have wined and dined at the Withy on pretty well every occasion. Sadly having not been up for quite some time I was surprised to learn that the pub had been refurbished and was now under new management. Not sure exactly as to why this was necessary as from what I remember the pub offered excellent food, hospitality, and atmosphere. Sadly all of these attributes have clearly gone by the wayside, as have the locals. Do yourself a favour and find somewhere else!!!!

Just been for the tapas. Food was excellent & the service was exceptional. Great food at a great price. Three large dishes of tapas for £9.99. Good selection on the menu. Well worth it. Can’t wait to go back again!

Had the fish n chips lamb shank n salmon food was excellant, v good service n good atmosphere professional staff.

You walk in to older pubs and bars, expecting to be greeted with a certain decor (you know 80's crushed velvet curtains etc), but wow not here. Lovely traditional building which has has been revamped and taken care of.

After hearing the withy had reopened my partner and I thought we would give it a go. It was brilliant we both went for the Sunday lunch it was excellently cooked. The meat was tender and the vegetables very tasty. We will visiting again very soon as I want to try some of the specials they sound good.

We’ve been to this pub before, but we were unaware that they had changed hands since last time. Otherwise we would’ve checked, seen the recent bad reviews, and avoided wasting our date night here.

You can't judge everyone else's experiences based on your own, so if I differ from others so be it. Decided to try out the revamped WA and found it not to our liking. New bare brick walls with freshly painted walls add to th me brightness. Outside is as good as ever with loads of alcoves and seating. New menu , new chefs but not quite there. Steak baguette was served on huge board which added nothing, with token salad dumped in a corner(perhaps put a nice salad in small pot); fries were fine. The board did not inspire eating off it so asked for a plate. Second meal of gammon, eggs and chips; miscoloured gammon showed oil not too clean but gammon edible. Pointed this out at end and waitress said sorry for that. Fair to say these fair priced meals were just ok but a rethink on presentation needed. Bar staff good and helpful.

I opted for a pizza with the weather being so hot and I was amazed. Too cheap! Proper Italian Pizzas the meat feast was one the best I have had in a long time, You can tell it homemade and not pre-made like some places. The beer was good too. Glad to see thats improved from last time. We will be back every week now.

We visited recently and were told that they had only recently opened after being refurbished, really well done throughout, a really nice feel to the place and very clean, the staff team, well the ones we spoke with, including the manager, were just amazing, I would certainly recommend the owners buy these guys a drink. really friendly and welcoming, we were only visiting, so gave us a load of suggestions of things to do too.

Having eaten here fairly regularly before the refurbishment, we were keen to return. Sadly we were disappointed with the menu and the standard of the food. I ordered the steak and ale pie, what came was some meat between 2 prepurchased puff pastry tops which were soggy as they seemed to have been cooked in a microwave. My wife struggled to find anything that she liked on the new menu but ordered fish and chips. The fish was badly overcooked and it proved impossible to seperate the rather thin pice of fish from the overcooked batter.

Well having been the withy arms for Sunday lunch many times before it was refurbed and ownership changed we thought we would give it a try today although the bar and restaurant staff were good the food was very very poor I had the lamb my wife the beef both meats were cooked very well that unfortunately is were it ends the potatoes were at best barely edible the carrot concoction with herbs which overpowered everything else was disgusting broccoli undercooked Yorkshire pudding like a crisp gravy was ok though so every cloud I was asked by a member of staff and I told her the same was offered a drink as way of apology basically a 1 out of 10 at best come on withy improve because your Sunday lunch used to be the best in leyland

Great local pub again now the horrible little man of a manager has gone. The new manager is a happy friendly barrel of laughs. The food is excellent again like it was when it first opened many many years ago. Best thing to have happened is getting rid of John. I love the new look and the beer is back on top form again.

Never used to come in as I had a bad experience with the old manager. But gave it another shot knowing it had been taken over by a new manager. Pleasantly surprised! Great staff, warm and welcoming and a great atmosphere. I did have a little peek back on some reviews and to say the chicken was raw is a ridiculous comment. Anyone who can cook knows a leg of a chicken can have a pink colour to it doesnt mean it's not cooked and it looks quite nice and tender to be honest. Cant wait to try a sunday dinner

Have now sampled the Sunday lunch and an evening meal at the new improved Withy, and I must congratulate all concerned as to the standard and presentation of these really enjoyable meals that I have had. I must congratulate Jamie and his team who are doing a wonderful job and a special mention to Ste and the boys in the kitchen for producing great food,. I will be back most definitely,. ,

I was always a fan of the withy and was disappointed when it closed but I am so happy now it is open. While doing the refurb it has been stripped back in places and old pub signs put up which I love. I have eaten here twice and live it. Jamie and all the team are amazing and very welcoming.

We had not been in a long time but decided to give the withy another after an unpleasant experience with the old manager. I can only say it was amazing the staff were brilliant, food great and I even caught a chat with the head chef while he was having a pint after work. The hole team are fantastic. Keep it up we will be back this weekend.

Having been looking forward to the reopening of the Withy arms for quite some time, my friends and I decided to give it a try on Sunday and i must say we where pleasantly surprised.

I went to the Withy Arms late last week with a group of friends. Started off by a great reception from the staff there, as I went to order drinks. Very welcoming and very nice to chat to. I had the Lamb Henry, which was absolutely brilliant, very hot, and cooked to perfection. Everyone else who I ate with also enjoyed there food, and the efficiency of the floor staff, and how quickly our food was prepared. The pub has improved massively with food and energy in there. Will be going regularly. Recommend to the public of leyland to go and visit, whether it is for food or drinks.

Called in for a quick drink on Sunday. Pub looks great after the refurb. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Lovely outside huts.

Went to the Withy arms yesterday new management and new staff, had a minted lamb Henry for main, it came with a jug of gravy and mash potatoes, we asked for veg on the side instead of peas and they couldn’t provide it for us?

We went for lunch today as seen all the hype about the new pub, new manager, new chef, only to find it looks exactly same as before. Same old stale menu and when we ordered a Chicken Baguette was told it is not a baguette, so why advertise as one, is this not false advertising? Asked for 2 pies with mushy peas, arrived with garden peas, then asked for a bottle of Pinot, only to be told they had none??????? Only been open since Friday and no wine, needs another new manager I think!!!!!!!! There were only 3 tables occupied so hate to think how much could go wrong when busy!

Refused food on a Sunday afternoon (1pm) because I had comfy joggers on

After noticing the food coming out of the kitchen whilst having an afternoon pint with a friend, myself and my girlfriend decided to pop in for tea and we were not left disappointed! Brilliant dishes at a very reasonable price. We’ve pretty much returned once a week for the past few months and have not made it as far as the actual menu yet, the specials board is that varied and has changed again every time we visit! The staff are friendly and attentive and the beer garden out back is something to behold. Doing a fantastic job guys!

Came here for the first time on Sat night, brought our three dogs as the place allows well behaved hounds ! Parked over the road at Tescos car park and walked over.

Food was hot and tasty and reasonably priced two people enough to eat and a soft drink each £18. Service was fantastic, the food came reasonably quickly and the staff were brill

Met up with 2 ex work colleagues for lunch on Wed 16th at 12pm. We all had fish, chips and peas. Enjoyable, hot, good price.

We had the roast dinner edible but not good. Beef was tough. Potatoes and veg not freshly cooked all warmed up

We came here for a bit of a family get together post new year. The environment is very nice & contemporary/rustic/industrial. It’s dog friendly, and it has wifi. Nice outdoor area at the back. There is an extensive menu due to all the specials it has, these are written above the bar. I was very disappointed by the food I had. Typical kind of chain pub food. Not sure if the pub is having ideas above it’s station regarding the food.

Just visited for something to eat and a few pints with friends. Ordering drinks was extremely long winded as there was only one staff member behind the bar. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Curry, "finished with a garlic and coriander naan" according to the specials board. When the food arrived there was no naan to be seen. When it was mentioned to the server, the kitchen replied that it no longer comes with a naan. Better change your board to state that then. Would have ordered the lovely looking roasts my friends had instead if I'd known. It tasted nice enough but definitely not worth a tenner.

Love this pub. Friendly, clean, open kitchen which looks spotless. Food always good and home cooked. Good atmosphere and always appropriate background music. Good selection of drinks. Everything well priced and good quality. Sunday Roast for £6.99 is exceptional value for what is served.

Just come back from a Christmas lunch at the Withy Arms Leyland. I have to say I was very very impressed. The majority of our party had 3 courses, me included. One of our party is vegan (me), one is lactose intolerant and one is gluten intolerant and they managed to cater for us all without any difficulty (maybe there was behind the scenes, but there was no sign of this during our visit). The food tasted lovely and was presented very well. The staff were attentive and the price was very very reasonable. I would definitely recommend having s Christmas lunch here.

Every good meal great service if you order cowboy half and half share it it's to big for one. We had starters pea and ham soup really good homemade also garlic mushrooms everything was great defenetly go again soon

Had a catch up with friends on a Thursday night at the Withy and it was such a good night. Lovely relaxing atmosphere, staff are very professional , approachable and friendly. Always need to try a withy lager!! The food is scrumptious and never disappoints, it’s great place to visit, and we’ll behaved dogs are welcome too!! Well done everyone at the Withy Arms, keep up the great work and we shall be back very soon.

Have been quite a regular here over the years but would think twice about spending my money here again.

Just had an amazing Sunday lunch. Plenty of tasty home cooked food. Great service. Best bit was the price £6.99. Great value for money, I would highly recommend 👍🏻

Went to the withy for our Sunday lunch. Food as usual was fantastic from the lovely Steve. Service on the bar and floor was shocking. Our 2nd drink had to be returned as it was fizzy and boddingtons is not supposed to be fizzy, John the manager changed it with no problems at all and was lovely as ever. My partner still said it was fizzy so returned it again to a different bar man who was very very rude and made my partner wait ages at the bar even though our meal had arrived, I had to ask my partner to request him to bring them over to us as his meal was going cold and the bar man was NOT happy with that and got one of the girls to do it...slowly. The 2 fizzy pints then remained on the end of the bar just left there sat for roughly 50 minutes without being moved. The check back was near the end of the meal about 15 mins in and consisted of 'everything alright' from a girl who looked just lost and like she was too scared to talk to us. She also removed dishes off our table while we was still eating but leaving 2 empty glasses for the duration of the whole meal as she was too scared to stretch over for them, she just grabbed the empty plates when we had finished but not the usual 'was everything ok with your meals, can I get you anything else, would you like to see the sweet menue...NOTHING. Also What I assume is the shift manager Dylan was utter useless, just seam to mince around with a stupid false grin on his face. Paid more attention to a family of 7 with a screaming child who chucked more food on the floor than in its mouth, they had 1 missing meal so Dylan gave them more attention than the rest of the restaurant and also gave them money back. I watched him clear 5x tables next to us and not a one of them was cleaned properly. Dylan picked up Old dirty food with his fingers and did not even wiped down any of the tables for new customers... this is not withys usual standard or expectations from there staff. Very very disappointed but as i say we can't fault the food as it was amazing and we will go back because we love the withy but hope the service is better next time.

Had a meal here and it was excellent. The prices seem a little higher until you see the portions. Lovely staff

Came here for a family meal and we have been a couple of times before that.

Had been recommended by friends to visit the pub for a meal. On entering the bar area is nice and bright but the rest of the place needs a good clean. There was dust on the mismatched chairs and the floor was in dire need of a refurb. The menu has a good choice and the portions are generous but my chicken was overdone. This could be a really nice place to eat with a bit of money spent on it. Will not be returning and would not recommend.

I was very pleased with our meals on sunday. Will definitely be going back again was certainly worth more than the £6.99 charged.x I'd give 10 stars if i could

Went to withy Leyland with my partner & 2 friends for Sunday lunch. The food was amazing and in abundance.service as usual was great. Steve the head chef was as chirpy as ever and came to say hello and also after we had finished to check we were all happy. Lovely place. Highly reccomend the food & service here. Very reasonable prices and great portion sizes. Just went for a lunch but really got full size portions. Great staff very friendly. Would definitely go back.
