Celebrated my son's birthday, the staff were all lovely especially the man carving the meat.

Callum took our order at the bar, he was incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful. After our speedy service we grabbed our carvery tickets and we're served. The portions were very large and the meat was cooked lovely, especially the beef. Anything we couldn't eat we took home in a little takeaway box, which was very helpful, so we did'nt waste any food

Steph was wonderful and very helpful made the experience extremely pleasant.

Just had a Sunday roast . The veg . Was cooked really well , still full of. Texture. I had beef which I normally avoid, but it was very nice and tender . Well priced , good selection of drinks .

I’d like to start by saying that this place makes some of the best cakes I’ve ever had in my life. However, I’ve given it 3 stars for two reasons: 1. The carvery has gone downhill. It used to be incredible – with quality Yorkshire puddings, well-roasted potatoes, fresh vegetables, and tender meats. Now, the Yorkshires are cold and airy, and the vegetables and potatoes feel like an afterthought. 2. Inconsistent opening hours. Today, I drove all the way from Clifton and arrived at 10:30 PM, only to find the pub closed – half an hour earlier than the 11 PM closing time listed on the website. On a random Friday night, no less. It’s a shame to see this place decline – it has so much potential. 💔🥀🙏

Excellent food friendly service especially Chef Mark

Today we had an AMAZING experience thanks to Teresa (hope I spelt your name correctly!) she served us our food and gave us exceptional service, she was upbeat and made conversation with us that felt completely genuine. She served us a fair portion of meat for our carvery which made us feel happy with spending our money here today. Nothing ruins a carvery more than someone serving meat that resembles wafer thin ham! The food was great today! You need more Theresa's on your team and to keep service at this level along with food quality, you will have lots of happy customers! Also impressed with the till staff checking about allergies straight away! I have a niece with allergies and its great to not feel like an inconvenience by having to mention it rather than being asked! Thank you! Kady & Kacie ❤️

The meat was really good, carrots were very big and some were hard.

Have to say it was an awful experience Ordered 3 carvery on the app with drinks - they arrived quickly and I asked for the carvery ticket and barman had no idea how it worked. A few minutes a manager came over and told us they had been so busy there was no meat left !! He did offer us a slight reduction and some chicken (fair enough) but chicken was burned and completely dried out and the veg was lukewarm at best. Didn’t see any members of staff to complain. Should have turned ordering off and told you when sat - we barely ate out food

Had a fantastic experience today. Customer service was exceptional two gentlemen with the same name, I believe it was Mark, And lovely lady, who was baking cakes. They were very friendly and happy to help with any questions or queries I had, at no point did I feel like I was being a nuisance to them. Lovely evening at winterstream, although the roast wasn’t up to scratch, my mash did have lumps of uncooked potato in along with the roasters, but the food ordered off the menu was lovely. Was served through out the evening by a lovely gent named Jr who I couldn’t fault. He was welcoming and was really interactive, suggested meals and was just overall brilliant. It would have been a 5star hadn’t it have been for the hard spuds.

I would like to say that the service I received from JR & Freya was excellent , for a first time customer I felt very welcomed and I would definitely return again the drinks are lovely and the food is even better! Thank you to your staff members x

My family and I had dinner here this evening. The carvery was really good, way more than we could eat. My son loved the burger and the millionaires shortbread was insane!!! 🐷After dinner JR was chatting to my son about the book her was reading. Amazing and friendly customer service. Which resulted in me buying a book series to read on our holiday in May!!!! Recommended 👌

Terrible service. Nobody greets you. Nobody explains how to use the carvery system. Chef miserable as sin, rude, disinterested in customers. Beef was dry, potatoes hard and flavourless. Wasnt even asked if my food was ok (just as well, it wasnt). Avoid! Waste of money. Dead atmosphere, miserable staff, rubbish food.

Went for Easter carvery and walked away completelly stuffed and with a HUGE piece of cake for afters! Value for money is absolutely second to none! The atmosphere is friendly and service is quick. The quality of the food is the only thing I can comment on. Unfortunately the roast potatoes are just not on par, and the brussle sprouts were frozen :-( but the meat was soft and tasty and the Gravy was delicious! Unlimited veg AND extra piggies for 2 quid! It's completelly worth it for a few soggy roasties!! Would highly recommend!

Are we in a famine? Bought a standard carvery on a Sunday, didn’t even get full slices of meat - 1 thin half slice of turkey and 1 thin half slice of pork. Yorkshire pudding was nice but everything else like the carrots, sprouts, broccoli were brick-hard as if they’d been ceremoniously wafted briefly over some steam, rather than cooked. Cauliflower cheese not only had the same treatment but a pathetic cheese sauce that tasted of sadness instead of cheese, like, why is it stringy cheese? It’s not a pizza. Lay off the extra mild and give it some flavour, Christ. Honey roasted parsnips should be crispy, not soggy, swimming in an inch of water. Get some peas in there too instead of the red cabbage and boiled potato’s, it’s not a salad bar. Bit disappointed for the money, the only flavour was in the gravy. Had better food from my great nan and she cooks like it’s still ww2

A great Sunday lunch with plenty of availability which was good for a very busy Mothers Day. Good variety of vegetables to suit everyone's preferences.

Disappointing visit on Saturday evening. Great catch up with family and friends,but no carvery available.Food was mediocre, and when asking for dessert, we were advised it was take home only,cutting short our time together.

The food was OK, but the Veg was Rock-hard, Meat was fresh this time. The Stuffing was unedibly, but on a positive the Mash was very nice & the onion Gravey was very nice. So overall, I would only give it a 5/10.

Food was amazing. Staff lovely as always. Disabled toilet had the tap removed from the sink so I couldn't wash my hands. Toilet seat was very loose, and so was a struggle to sit on it with my mobility issues. I did inform a member of staff of the problems, so hopefully it will be sorted quickly.

Just spent £72 for meal for 5 and 2 meals sent back as chicken very rubbery. On question is chicken cooked fresh and we was told chicken is frozen then microwaved 😳had only £20 refund but won’t be eating there again anytime since soon.

I can't recommend this carvery highly enough! I popped in just a couple of minutes past closing time, hoping to grab a couple of takeaway vegetarian meals, and was met with the most wonderful service. Mark, who was on the carvery, went above and beyond to make sure we had plenty of food, and his kindness and generosity truly made our day. The food was absolutely delicious, as always. Every visit here is a great experience, but this one stood out even more. A huge thank you to Mark and the team!

Well how can words describe this place is absolutely unbelievable! The faces are so smiley especially Sheena ! What a lovely character. Wow wow wow … that’s all I have to say . Chef Mark has come out in style and magically produced the finest roast ive ever had ! waitress didn’t give or explain to us where to get cutlery or condiments, amazing how they managed to get the chips to be so overcooked yet the veggie burger so undercooked yet so dry and hard, the coleslaw was in a slip on my plate with unequal portions to those i was eating with, not quiet sure how it’s 4 star should be 2 at max

Hardly any gravy - definnitely not enough. I ordered the extra Yorkshire Pudding and pigs in blankets but only got the pigs in blankets. Food wasn't hot enough.

Nice and quiet as we visited on a weeknight. Really pleasant staff and excellent service. Food was good, though we did wait slightly longer than expected considering how quiet it was. Husband was very impressed with the pie as ot had a proper crust, loaded with filling and very tasty. Only disappointment was the cake. The pieces are getting smaller and smaller whilst the prices are going up. Mars Attack didn't have any caramel in!

Came for a roast dinner with the family, kids play area is good. Food is good, service from staff was great . Toilets need attending to however no hand wash and toilet door locks broken.

Proper old school pub grub with a kids play area. Kids eat free during most school holidays so it’s a great deal for us, as a family of 6. The northern manager (terrible with names - sorry!) is always incredibly polite and helpful- a great representation of the brand! No complaints about any of the team! Extra thanks for the chefs who tirelessly carve up the meats for the carvery!
