Ideal for a good value, well cooked, Sunday roast. I booked table for two mid-morning, arrived in good time for our 12:30 slot, and pleased with the staff welcome: table was ready and waiting for us and we soon had drinks and food ordered. One small matter was my request for a “quiet area … if possible” was apparently overlooked. I would not comment on this if the pub had been full but there were many empty tables throughout. On any other occasion I would have asked to move but after settling my elderly mother in our allocated spot it was easier to stay put. This will not stop us returning but next time I’ll be a bit wise to where we are seated. A sincere thanks to the staff who appeared pleasant whilst working hard.

Quality food for what you pay. As a group of eight we enjoyed a very pleasant lunch. Friendly, hardworking staff and a special thank you to Paul who was very helpful.

We were so disappointed. A group of 9. Of us and first of all there was no bitter beer - they had run out! There was no pie or fish so opted for a burger. Turned up and it was a small bowl of chips and a burger - no other garnish - looked awful and was not good - cost £13.79 - would have been more appetising if I had gone to McDonalds. My daughter ordered the same with bacon and cheese - her burger arrived without both - they said they would get some and it took 15 mins before it arrived by then she had eaten the burger. One of the meals was missing and turned up as we all finished. My husband’s gammon you could hardly cut. Had a chat with a waitress and told her how disappointed I was. She was so sweet and apologised. I really felt sorry for all the staff as they were very overworked. They should employ more staff for a busy Friday evening. I am not sure how a manager was not present when the pub was really busy on a Friday night! I asked if a manager was around that I could speak to and she said no therefore no-one to complain to. I am not sure why a manager was not present on a busy Friday night. I would definitely not go back or recommend it to anyone.

First time having lunch in The Sandringham, (a birthday meal for Mum 30/01/25). We all had a really lovely meal, very well presented food which was hot and served all together. Paul the head manager that day was extremely courteous, in fact all the staff were excellent. We will definitely revisit soon.

Cold food couldn't even put a fork in some of the food was rock solid. Looked awful on plate had to complain lots of times Husband now has food poisoning which has been confirmed by a specialist.

Lovely Pub, we were in the area on a Saturday and I found this pub on Google Maps. So glad we stopped in. The food was really nice, my husband had the lasagna with fries and I had the Tandoori Skewers . Perfect portion for me. It wasn’t to busy when we arrived ( which we prefer!) the gentleman serving at the bar was very polite and helpful. Would highly recommend and we will be back when we are next in the area.

The food was tasty but overcooked and pretty burnt. We picked Mixed Grill for each and all plates been the same. The taste is good, service is also good, personnel is nice and professional. The decor is welcoming and warm. A part if the burnt food everything was ok.

Clean and friendly. Good food and they even had Guinness.

I can't believe the negative reviews I am reading about the Sandringham. A group of 8 friends go for lunch once a fortnight - with other times fitted in to suit us. I have also visited with other friends and family at other times, including the festive menu in 2024. The food, service. staff, menu selection and prices are superb. I do wonder what other people expect from this type of establishment - are they comparing it with places like The Ritz? People really do need to compare like for like. I can't praise this place more highly. Try it for yourself and see what I mean. Ignore the negative reviews - I really don't think they are fair or accurate.

Amazing night second Friday in a row here with friends and family for food and drinks Paul and the team are all great and accommodating friendly and helpful even added more logs for the fire for us 🩷 Food fantastic normal menu but the roast is to die for definitely recommend 🩷

Last Friday I had a meal with the family, our server, Ashlee, was very attentive and friendly despite looking quite young. Good food all round for decent price, we will be back!!

Went there for a xmas drink before lunch really busy but got somewhere to sit as there was a group if 10 if us

Our local and glad of it too!. We go back time and again and Ember Inns offer consistent special deals. Also a good selection of beers, wines and ciders on offer. Most staff friendly and obliging

Booked for boxing day lunch time meal. Paid deposit when booked. No email to ask for menu choices. Contacted them and an email was sent by Ollie. I replied with our choices. No acknowledgment. My son visited and was told they hadnt received it. He gave them the full 3 course list. On boxing day arrived. Got starters and mains ok but then nothing. Asked where dessert was and there seemed to be a bit of a staff issue as they all came out and looked through lists. Came over and said the cheese and biscuits was unavailable even though our preorder was in the file as i saw it when i went to pay. Would have given 5 stars if it was not for this foul up over dessert. No apologies or discount. Will have to think again before i pre order food from here.

Booked boxing meal. Pre ordered 3 courses for 5 people via email in return to Ollie. No response. Sent son in with order and all 3 chooses for all 5. On day starters and mains great. No sign of dessert. When i asked there seemed to be panic and we were told that there was no cheese left. We had to order something else. When i went to pay the preorder forms were out on the bar and my order was there clearly stating our chooses. Not happy with that at all.

I booked a Christmas day meal for a family of 5. We were so disappointed. Upon arrival we were told our table number and had to find it ourselves, we waited half an hour for starters and half an hour to 40 minutes between each of the 3 courses. The starters finally arrived, one if which was a childrens portion of tomato soup, to be told they had ran out and had no choice but to have a spiced parsnip. The mains was brought without the starter plates even being removed and placed next to these. The meal itself was very disappointing, turkey, part boiled then deep fried potatoes are just not was expected when spending the price per head. Veg consisted of peas, sprouts and red cabbage, severely lacking! At no point did a member of staff visit the table and ask if we were OK, there were no sauces offered, when I asked they said that Cranberry sauce alongside mint and horseradish for those that had beef was not available! Dessert was dreaded by this point especially as we were sat next to a table where all plates with left over food was being stacked. Staff were very clearly unhappy and could hear comments about this said to each other. Us and other guests just got up and left when finished, no good byes or merry Christmasfrom staff. Absolutely would not recommend to anyone. No it wasn't too expensive for Christmas day at approx £48 per head but I have had nicer microwave meals. Awful experience all round. It's very sad to have nothing good to say but I have to put 1 star to be able to post this review.

Food let it down roast meat dry cold veg

Part of a group who had ordered festive Christmas lunch. The prawn cocktail consisted of two small lettuce leafs and half dozen small prawns covered in a sauce. The accompanying sliced bread was dry and curling at the corners. The main meal consisted of very thin sliced dry turkey that had obviously been sat under a heated light for some time, some people had carrots some did not, some had potatoes and some did not, and nobody had ever seen such small pigs in blankets, the mixed veg left a great deal to be desired. The service was appalling slow, some meals had been finished before other had received theirs. There appeared to be a total lack of organisation in the kitchen and a total lack of staff resource to cope. Based on todays experience would not recommend the Sandringham festive food under any circumstance. Very, very poor.

Superb food at a good price - friendly & efficient staff & a lovely ambience. Ee had Sunday lunch & it was excellent. Definitely coming back.

A group of 4 to 8 of us meet for lunch every fortnight and have always had super food served well and promptly. Would highly recommend this pub for meals for any occasion.

What a FANTASTIC pub. Lovely atmosphere and the staff are all really friendly. Food is amazing and over all this pub punches well above it's weight. Definitely worth a visit.

Absolutely vile company. Ordered £15 mash and sausage and driver claimed to deliver food, I went outside while he drove round surrounding roads for 25 minutes and wouldn’t answer the phone 5 times. Contacted deliveroo and they said he left the food outside as no contact made. No food outside and wouldn’t offer a refund. Worst delivery is the world never use. Took my money and food and wouldn’t refund even got through to manger on live chat. What a joke and scammers!

Good place for family get together

We came for a meal on Saturday evening and were so impressed we returned for Sunday lunch! Empty plates all round, reasonably priced. Great service from Vicky Saturday and Ollie on Sunday.

The staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The food was very good, I had chicken tikka masala and my wife had a salad, both of which were very tasty and well presented. The Sandringham has plenty of tables which are well spaced out and is spotlessly clean. An excellent menu which is reasonably priced is well worth a visit

Had the most enjoyable evening at the Sandringham, Ruth and Paul are an absolute asset to the pub, their customer service is second to none. It is lovely to have such wonderful staff at our local pub, thank you and hopefully the management acknowledge their high standards and work ethic.

One of my favourite places to come. The food is always good. The quiz on a Thursday and Sunday is always fun too. The staff are amazing and friendly. Ollie is very welcoming and you for a laugh. There are working fire places which are lovely to sit next to in the winter. Definitely a place to come. You'll be very welcomed in it's friendly and relaxing atmosphere.

I have always thought the Sandringham reliable until the recent visit when I ordered a sirloin steak - it was almost inedible: tough, untrimmed and virtually tasteless. No doubt I shall return but not for their steak.

I had a great experience! Cosy, inviting pub atmosphere. Staff were very friendly. Food was delicious, good value for Money. Will definitely be returning.

Went for lunch today. Food just ok. Service very poor , plates virtually thrown at us by miserable waitress. Not a smile from any staff. Avoid.

It's great to see a response from the venue on a review; however I didn't write anything the first time. So thought I would now as the venue had replied. We visited the Sandringham twice over the weekend of Beast from the East. Snow was not going to stop us visiting. We had a few drinks and played board and card games. Staff were friendly.

Nice lunch and couple of beers, friendly and efficient manager and staff.

If you book as a big group be prepared to pay extra as the till puts things through differently. We paid extra even though most of us went for the 2/4 courses. Bit unfair.

We had a family 90th Birthday for my Mum, we pre-ordered our meal and everything went without a hitch. Excellent food and great service. Paul went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect.
