Wimpy in Tower Hamlets

It's not as good as it used to be...seemed a bit dirty or grimy to be more precise menus felt greasy etc...food was ok service was ok ..it's a wimpy I suppose..would I go back to this one probably not 🤷🏼‍♂️

Bit quiet early in the morning but good friendly service

Loved their service to be honest. Not so much of a regular scenario in bengali restaurants. I had chai and it was great. Would love dine in for lunch or dinner at some point.

We come here for some lunch while supporting a friend at the marathon. The food was comparable with most fast food places, HOWEVER the staff were really lovely, there was table service, you got plates and cutlery, very comfy seating and a very nice iced coffee. Brilliant.

Not many wimpy,s left in London , having visited 3 locations so far , this was the best by a distance , burgers tasted great, and the fries covered with the original wimpy ketchup delicious , staff were great , looking forward to going back.

A typical local Wimpy restraunt. The market around it is being rebuilt. On today's visit food quality is below the standard of previous visits.

Food was underwhelming I ordered a egg McMuffin and my friend ordered a sausage an egg McMuffin and they were nice but the McMuffin to egg/sausage ratio is uneven especially if your only getting egg and the bun was a little to hard. I think it’s not really value for money 2 drinks and 2 egg McMuffins came up to £12 I would of rather of gone McDonalds. I went early in the morning the place was empty and it was clean

Used to be a friendly welcoming place, waited 20 mins for someone to take an order ended up shouting out to the chef if he could make our food.

In 1972 I spent 6 months in London. I loved Wimpy burgers. I remember there was a group of American kids who arrived at Heathrow for their teturn charter flight home. The plane didn't come. The US Embassy refused to help them. The Wimpy organization heard about it and chartered a free of charge flight for them. I thank them.

Had to Google to find a WIMPEY ..travelled over 30 miles to this one ....Very friendly staff...prompt service and Food and shake as remembered from the 90s!! Absolutely tip top !!! ...everything cooked just right ...!!!... Well worth a visit !!!

Many will think it's strange to give a wimpy 5 stars but for the price point it delivers on every aspect. Some of the best table service I ever got. It's a down-to-earth diner/caff with loyal clientele, a relaxed atmosphere and tasty staples such as hash browns or breakfast sausage muffins.

10/10 loved the staff full of good energy and the service thank you!!!

I haven't had a wimpy in many years so was excited to try again. I don't remember wimpy being so expensive so I wont be eating their to often! Enjoyed the quarter pounder with cheese(pictured). Really enjoyed it. Found staff to be really friendly & helpful. Shop was nice & clean

Tried ordering a sausage and Hash brown muffin (with no egg) 2 fried eggs on 2 toast with 2 x glasses of orange juice. First all waitress couldnt understand what I was asking for. Then was confused as to why I was asking for no egg. Upon arrival of food I was Brought 2 x sausage muffins. Along with the fried egg on toast and when I said I only wanted 1 she looked confused. The glasses of orange juice the waitress was pouring them on show with labelled up £1 cartons of orange from the local shop with this store charging £2.40 a glass. Store was empty when it used to be heaving on a Monday morning store has really gone down hill. That being said the food was nice.

Eaten there at Watney street branch before on several occasions, usually satisfactory, rating now nose dived as staff couldn't understand my cod and chips order, so I left. In future if I want an wimpy I'll go over to 'The Blue'. Goodbye Watney Street.

Wimpy is getting scarce these days so I have been meaning to visit. It was a struggle deciding between this branch or a different branch. Watney was more convenient but the service here is a bit too attentative because the guy was so eager for me to order that he was beside me the whole time. I was still making my mind and he is back like 30 seconds after walking off. Apart from that FOOD IS AMAZING! The burger is fantastic and their ketchup really takes the burger to the next level.

I wanted to get some breakfast, and so headed to Wimpys as I like the food and they had a terrace outside for me and my assistance dog. I also chose them because they have ADUK signs on the front door insisting all assistance dogs are welcome. However, I was repeatedly berated and verbally assaulted by an employee when I went in to grab a menu to take onto the terrace. I re-iterated the law and he began to insist I am not disabled. I will be calling Wimpy about this, and I'm happy to send the head office copies of my diagnoses and government paperwork stating that I need to be accompanied by a carer or my assistance dog when I go out. I will not however pander to someone who is discriminatory and hateful due to outdated cultural bias against dogs. I will also be contacting ADUK as I doubt they are aware of this behaviour and the premises should be forced to remove the endorsement. Absolutely disgusting behaviour.

Always a fan of the Wimpy as a child, I stumbled across this particular branch whilst walking East London. Keen to re-live my childhood burger memories, I gave it a go. I am very pleased to to say that the staff were incredibly conscientious and the food was as I remembered. Whenever I am in East London, I usually pop back.

You just got to love this wimpy. One of the first shops that opened in watney market in 1979. And still here

Was in London for a few days and found a wimpy on a nostalgic notion. I used to love wimpy as a kid and had vivid memories of it as I walked from the nearby DLR Shadwell Station(3 minute walk). When I walked in...the nostalgia hit me. The simple tables, the red seats , the open plan with the kitchen visible. I was searching for the tomato shaped ketchup bottles...but that was the one thing missing. Staff so friendly. Immediately attended to and made very welcome. The menu is what you expect from a burger restaurant but the food was spot on. Delicious....that familiar wimpy taste....huge portion of chips....and a selection of wimpy sauces. I loved it....decent price....and very clean. Recommend this so much. Just put the ketchup in those retro sauce bottles and I will be back ASAP !

I have always liked this wimpy been going for over 40 yeard

Always have the full English breakfast which is halal. Tastes great. However the tea no longer comes with the meal and you have to buy it separately and costs extra. The price has gone up over the years which is quite annoying. Workers are nice and welcoming, especially this east Asian woman who always greets muslims with 'Asalam alaikum'.

Wonderful oasis in Watney Market. Very customer-aware staff and sparkling clean eaterie with Knickerbocker Glory and still Brown Derby on the menu. Always too much food on the plate. Great.

Fabulous little find tucked away next to the market. Clean and fast, friendly service with food served fresh and hot. Delicious meal that neither of us wanted to waste but the portions were generous. We couldn't wait to rush back the next morning for brunch. As quoted from my 8yr old daughter: "food filled us up a 100%"

Been coming here for the last 28 years, same owner, same great tasting food. This is a healthier alternative, compared to the asian Perfect Fried chicken places that are nearly on every street corner. My favourite is their Egg Burger meal.

The behaviour of the old staff was very rude.

Really disorganized and impolite staff waited 13 minutes to collect the order as a delivery driver. The old guy is very rude. He made me to mark the order as accepted before providing me the food. Does it make any sense? He may told me to accept the order after providing me the food. I have been doing the delivery job for more than 4 years but never seen such a ill-mannered guy like him. The guy should learn how to behave with people before working at any place. Unprofessional at all. Won't be going there ever again!

Wimpy based in Watney market. Vastly overpriced value for money is not available in this restaurant anymore hardly a surprise that there's any of these restaurants around given the fact you can go and actually have a proper meal somewhere for the price of one of their burgers completely ridiculous the idea of going into a fast food restaurant and it costing £12.40 for a king-size burger Coke and fries, service leaves something to be desired, quality of a food is poor at best, it might be best to go and find somewhere else to eat for instantance any chicken shop or McDonald's it really was a joke I was so disappointed I would never bother going back there again

Great place with great service. I take my three year old with me for lunch there, all staff are friendly and very welcoming and accommodate us well. The manager always takes the time to say hello to my child and usually hands him a ballon and sometimes biscoffee biscuits. Always very lovely staff and food is great. I have not been due to lock down but plan on visiting soon for take out!

Classic Wimpy menu served in recently refurbished restaurant Great coffee too Staff friendly and attentive Much cheaper than certain other chains I could mention!! Love it!
