A Georgian gem, open since 1827, with great antique decor and their own brand of beer, am having a pint of Queen's Head. Queen Elizabeth the Queen mum famously pulled a pint here and it's supposedly the inspiration for the pub in EastEnders. Wonderful

Agreeable old-style East End boozer. The staff make this place a chilled place to sink some cold ones, they’re all amazing. The new decor is also a winner - especially the reproduction William Morris wallpaper, ace! Only real let down is they are hardly ever have any food available. Okay, so the kitchen might be closed during weekdays but, c’mon, no crisps? No nuts? Nothing edible AT ALL!? Meh.

Great little boozer. It has some interesting heritage, the famous picture of the Queen pulling a pint (you see in many London boozers) was actually performed here, also this pub and the adjacent 'York Square' park are the inspiration for Eastenders TV Show.

This pub is a rare find in the East End. Run by Tyler and Jess, who make the pub a home from home. Shannon who works the bar is friendly and great. I almost don’t want to rave about this place because I don’t want it to be over run but it’s too good to not shout about! Keep doing what you’re doing guys, it’s the best!

I am normally a local in the area and seen this pub go all the different owners but I am pleased to say it is going back to normal now, with great staff and atmosphere. I recently did the pub quiz in a Monday and had a great evening. Julia is an excellent quiz master and host. She really added to the atmosphere and kept it fun (challenging questions too). I would certainly recommend the quiz night on a Monday, hosted by Julia. The pub does offer a variety of beers at decent prices too. They always have the football on and other major tournaments. Add the Queens Head to your next stop in Limehouse!

🚇 Limehouse 🍺 £5.00 Amstel ❤️ A revived friendly Limehouse local. . The Queens Head is located on the corner of atmospheric York Square on the edge of Limehouse in East London. The nearest Tube is Limehouse DLR which is only a four minute walk away. . This pub was built in 1827 and is Grade II listed. After a period of closure the pub was revamped and reopened in March this year. This pub has a claim to fame, in July 1987 the Queen Mother paid a visit and poured herself a pint, declaring it better than champagne. This pub is where “that photo” was taken that you see on pub walls up and down the country. . This is a two bar pub that is simply decorated with bold colours. There is a stripped wood floor running throughout both bars, mid blue and white walls, butt and bead panelling and some wallpapered sections too. The seating is a mix of a large banquette, low and high level stools plus traditional tables and chairs. The traditional servery straddles the two bars and adds a bit character to the overall look and feel of this boozer. . The beer line up was diverse and included two cask ales and brews from the Pillars Brewery in E17. Being as unadventurous as always, I decided on an Amstel. My pint was excellent and reasonably priced at a fiver. The food menu here is predominantly pizza, most of which cost around £12. It was a nice to see you can get pie, mash and liquor for £7.50 from G Kelly's from Roman Road. The pub also does hearty Roasts on a Sunday for £15. . The atmosphere here was friendly and upbeat on this Sunday afternoon. The pub was fairly busy in and out with a mix of local punters and a few exploring the area. This pub shows live sport, there were a few in to watch the F1 and Rugby. This pub has plenty to keep you entertained, there is a quiz on a Monday and Vinyl DJ nights throughout the month. . Great to see this pub back open again and trading. This pub is definitely worth a visit, I’m sure the Queen Mum would have approved. . ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 28.05.23

Update - don't go here if you want draft beer. Went back Wednesday - Nothing on tap at all, just lagers, so disappointing!! Went over to the Ship, 2 minutes walk away, they had 3 draft beers - GreenKing IPA, Timothy Taylor Landlord and Doom Bar - brilliant. The TTL was in excellent condition - thanks! And plenty of outside seating on a warm lovely evening. Great to see this local pub open again with friendly bar staff and attentive service. Sadly most of the great decor has gone but the best bitter was excellent ..really well kept and the prices are sensible. I would have given more stars if it wasn't for the serious lack of seating... come on add a few more tables and chairs, as plenty of space to do so. Also, the lighting is fierce for a relaxing drinking evening... and it wasn't just me saying that! Almost a magic pub!

1st time I've been here and loved it. Nice old pub they do a good pint and the staff are nice. The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that I payed for 2 Coke's at £1 then later payed £2 for the same 2 Coke's clearly it was a genuine mistake being under charged but it could have been a much bigger round where I get over charged. It won't stop me going there again as its a friendly place for a drink.

Seems that the wonderful Glaswegian who ran the pub, and gave me a free pint because I was 1st in that day and who tried his best to find the correct channel for the football I wanted to watch, has moved on. The grotty sandwich counter has gone. The carpets and wallpaper have changed. I went back for all that and it's gone. Its been spruced up. The owners are nice enough but somehow feels like a wannabe Palm Tree under the auspices of Youngs brewery. At least it didn't close or become a Wetherspoons.

We visited on 28th October. Friendly and attentive staff. Location of the restaurant is great, especially by the window seats when looking out toward the marina. The onion rings were nice but very greasy, the cheddar beef burger's sauce was tasty but the burger itself was lukewarm and not cooked enough for our liking. The rosemary chips were different and very good, perhaps a little too salty, though. We weren't given the option on whether we wanted a receipt and the service charge was borderline extortionate.

Food was delicious (crab toast, partridge, smoked cod, cauliflower and leek, pigs cheek, squid - only one I might skip next time, ginger loaf which was like a sticky toffee pudding) Service was poor (our server was very rude) and overall very casual - wouldn’t return for this reason
