I stayed one night during the week. My room had a double bed and two twin beds. The room was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom had a large shower cubicle with a rainfall shower head a handheld shower and 6 body jets. Hand cleaning jell is provided. You need to take your own shower jell etc. The breakfast was excellent. Overall I had a good nights sleep and will definitely stay again. PS great beer selection.

Went to this pub for the first time for a few ‘quiet drinks’ just before Christmas and we weren’t disappointed. It is an old style pub with lots of character but also feels quite roomy for these Covid-19 times. Beers were good quality and reasonably priced. Lots of hand gel about the place which was good to see as not everywhere is as vigilant these days. We’ll definitely be back for a few jars again in the future. May even try the food which looked very well priced.

This pub has been in the same ownership for nearly 30 years. Priding itself on tradition it offers a wealth of space to sit or eat. The coffee is excellent. Food can be eaten in the restaurant or the bar. There is a menu with a range of light bites of good value. They also have an excellent value menu called "shoppers menu" from about 12pm until 5pm Mon to Sat with 2 courses for £6.75!! We tried this & were not disappointed. The home-cooked food is excellent. Loved the mashed potato. The roast meat wad tasty & the pie crust was very short. Delicious! Staff here work hard & try to make you feel welcome. This pub hosts an excellent e'll day stadiums on the Saturdays of Cleckheaton Folk Festival as well as a shorter session on the Dunday (1st weekend in July). Also worth dropping in.

Nothing much to say really, it's just an average pub. Old fashioned, rooms all over the places. No rhyme or reason to the place, lots of wasted space it must be he'll for the landlord to make sure things are as they should be. Huge menu, cheap prices but its all bog standard stuff really. We didn't eat so I can't comment on food quality. A toddler was running around, (I assumed she was the landlords) not safe when hot food is being carried to tables and certainly not when glasses are being carried. I don't object to children in pubs when dining but ours aren't playgrounds. The landlord and staff were friendly but the staff T'shirts weren't very nice and looked scruffy. We won't go again, it's not our sort of pub.

This is the third time we have stayed here. The hotel does need updated i.e. the carpets need replacing. The bathroom is ok, gets cleaned every day. The owners and staff are fab. The room gets cleaned, the bin gets emptied, the bed gets made every day. There is a kettle, coffee, tea bags, both white, brown sugar and milk. My husband and I found the bed was very comfortable. We were B & B the breakfast was very good. We will go back again when we visit our relatives again.

pleasant owners and staff but the rooms are tired and the furnishing is from the 70's MFI----to be fair everything was clean but was so old fashioned and the false ceiling with poor office style lighting has to go

Not been in for a while till yesterday, an apart from waiting a long time to get our food (was very busy) our food was nice, so 3 adults an 3 grand children went in for lunch today. we sat and ordered our food with a very nice waitress, nice banter, friendly smile food came quick as was not full, but it had 2 order's of chip's missing, my daughter let Paul no and we thought it was sorted? NOT, not long after a very pale dish of chip's came to the table, with a different waitress, told her we need one more? she said no just 1, told her our full order again and she said in a not so nice stern voice i will get our ticket, she came back with the ticket saying only 2 order's on here?. so i went to see the other part owner Steve, but the waitress was there telling me there is nothing wrong with saying she was getting our ticket? as i said to her it's the way you talked to us that was wrong, when Steve jumped in and said why is it always you complaining?, my answer was when we order food we expect it to be correct, and then he had another pop at us, now you have to bare in mind we have been going to the restaurant on an off for over 14+ year's, an in all that time i have complained 7 times in all?.... but to be spoken to like that like we are in the wrong NO, Cheese burger an chip's, Cheese toastie + 2 with ! chip's bacon egg an chip's cheese toastie an chip's is not hard to get right.... but when you get one Waitress with an attitude an ! part owner with an attitude, then the customer is always wrong.. we as a family put our coats on and left our food and drink's and walked out in disgust an no we will not be going back there ever again. So as from next year we will have to get a new family lunch time tradition going ''''''''''''''''to the other waitress thank you, she had the decency to apologized to us for getting our order wrong,

A great place to visit whether it be for dinner, lunch a pint or even an overnight stay. The staff are friendly and the food, while not Michelin star, is very good. The hand pull beer is the best in the area.

This place used to excel in their fine recipes though over recent times seem to have lost the spark they once had. It's a hotel aswell as a cafe and pub with restaurant and it's a family run establishment. Although friendly the food isn't as it was which is a shame as now its just ok

I stayed here on Monday 16.05.16, having booked it via my company's travel agent. It was very good value for money - £35 pppn B&B - but no food was being served that evening (however several other local options are available) and the shower was basic - a mixer tap with shower attachment in the bath, no screen so shower has to be taken seated in the bath. To be able to call yourself a "hotel" I would have thought an evening meal and a proper stand up shower were pre-requisites? Traditional cooked breakfast was available in the morning with complimentary friendly service but there were a lack of healthy alternatives - fruit! Decor is rather tired looking and there was a large patch of mould/water damage in one of the 1st floor hallways. Altogether not terribly inspiring.

Heard such good things about the Wickham arms. Unfortunately online information was incorrect! Decided to try for breakfast at 10am Sunday website says open from 9am. Get there and place is shut. Signs up asking only patrons to use tables and chairs, and watch bad language lol! Nothing about being closed or change of hours!!! Wasted journey, will not go out of our way again.

I stayed at the Wickham Arms for two nights ... I phoned the owner for directions while I was still driving on the M62 and was impressed with the conciseness and clarity of his instructions. On arrival I was equally impressed ... the room was clean and comfortable and the shower was superb ... very easily controlled (which is rare IME) and produced copious quantities of water at just the right temperature. Both of the evening meals I had during my stay were excellent ... I really recommend the haddock and chips ... delicious. The full English breakfast was as good as it gets ... everything freshly cooked to order (and perfectly cooked as well). The coffee was delicious as well.I would unhesitatingly recommend this small, unpretentious, friendly, family run hotel to anybody looking for comfortable accommodation during their visit to Yorkshire.

We stayed here overnight whilst visiting Yorkshire The pub/restaurant is very welcoming with a friendly Landlord and staff. There's a good choice of beers too, plus Free parking in the private car park. The rooms are cosy and spotlessly clean with all the usual facilities, theres also a Steam Iron on the landing for the convenience of guests. We didnt eat in the Restaurant, and it didnt look like the usual pub grub judging by the super menu, but BOY, what a breakfast! .....Fruit juice, cereal,3 rashers of bacon, 2 sausages, egg, beans, tomatoes, black pudding, fried bread, mushrooms and lashings of toast and butter all served on a huge plate, "proper" tea in a proper teapot, and help yourself to fresh coffee. Of course theres other breakfast options available on the menu, and they are flexible on breakfast times too which was a bonus. For the price we paid (£25p/p per night inc breakfast) it was excellent value, so we will definitely return.

I stayed at the Wickham Arms for a couple of nights last weekend. My room was small but had everything I needed. Comfy bed,TV, lots of hot water for my shower, and plenty of tea, coffee and milk provided. The staff were friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I loved the breakfast, everything served piping hot and delicious. Plenty of choice too. The Wickham offers good value for the money charged and I would definitely stay here again.

We were looking for somewhere to eat out for four people but a lot of places were booked up because of valentines day.The Wickham in Cleckheaton were doing a three course Dinner including a half litre caraff of wine for £30 per couple with a choice for each course as a valentine meal. What a great meal it was, not only was the food very good there was plenty of it. The service was exellent, the staff (family run I believe) were very friendly. All things considered I thought it was exellent value for money and we will certainly go again.

What a wonderful establishment. The local area provided us with the delight of eating at cheeky chickens restaurant, a locally sourced piri piri chicken eatery. We also enjoyed the delights of the regal bar and night club. Will definitely stay again.

Cafe at the front, Pub in the middle, Restaurant at the back. Menu a bit confused too. Food was OK, but nothing particularly special. Staff LOVELY, very attentive, and helpful. Hope they keep it that way, as the welcome more than made up for any downside. Beer was good.

I am only giving three stars as one of the staff members was v rude. She told me to stop being rude when I told her my order was incorrect on drive thru. When I got to window she gave me the wrong order. She then said I had asked for it. I said she would have heard my order if she didn't keep speaking over me. All the other staff were lovely and someone else took over the order. I have worked in service and I know how challenging it can be. However I was never rude. I also make an effort not to be rude to anyone serving me.
