White Rabbit in New Forest

Great pub in Lyndhurst! We stayed there for the night. The room was nice, the food was lovely and the service was great. The breakfast is very generous as well. It also has many parking spots which makes it super convenient.

I had accidentally booked the wrong dates through booking.com so I phoned up The White Rabbit to hopefully swap the days. I spoke to the lovely Manager Dan, and he did absolutely everything to help me out and even spoke to Booking.com on my behalf. Thank you so much Dan! It’s so rare to find people like you. You’re an absolute treasure & The White Rabbit are so lucky to have you.

Great pub. Had dinner here with our two children early Sat evening. Food was delicious, fab atmosphere and our server Bunny was brilliant. Would recommend.

Lovely hotel friendly and welcoming staff, great food in restaurants and breakfast was amazing . Nothing was too much trouble for the staff especially Bunny Will definitely return thank you.

There were good gluten-free options and a dog friendly pub. However, the pub floor was dirty with some left over food and the sea bass was dry and the vegetable plate was not great either.

We visited the restaurant as a celebration for my mum’s 75th birthday. Katherine served us and she was fabulous. She was friendly and made mum feel special on her birthday. Lovely food, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Thank you

Lovely place to stay friendly and cheerful only problems are banging doors and hand dryers from ground floor toilets at night until 11pm and no elevator to rooms staff member carried my luggage to my room food was awesome but pricey rooms are clean but no plug sockets near beds we stayed three night shower was lovely beds are comfy I’d give the hotel 4* not 5* cause of noise ****

We had a lovely roast dinner at the White Rabbit, the options on the menu were brilliant and the food delicious. The service from start to finish was very warm and friendly, particularly our waitress. Elliot and Emily were tickled pink that our waitress was called Bunny on Easter Sunday!

A Complete Turnaround – Pleasantly Surprised! We visited The White Rabbit in Lyndhurst last night, and I’m so glad we gave it another try. Our last visit back in August 2020 left us disappointed due to poor service and underwhelming food, and we had vowed not to return. However, being regular visitors to Lyndhurst, we decided to give it another chance—and what a difference! I later found out the restaurant is now under new management, and it truly shows. It’s easy to see why it’s currently rated No.2 in the area on Tripadvisor. We dined as a family with two young children, and the staff were incredibly accommodating, even with small changes to the menu for our little ones. The setting is cosy and welcoming, and despite the restaurant being busy, we were well looked after throughout the evening. A special mention must go to our wonderful waitress, Katherine. Her service was attentive, friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. If her manager happens to read this—please know what a gem you have on your team! We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Lyndhurst. Highly recommended.

Room was large, clean and bright, the staff was super friendly, service was first class, Bunny in particular went out of her way to make sure we had a very comfortable stay.

Katherine was a fantastic server and even recommended walks in the area. The food was great and the prices were reasonable. A great place for dinner overall.

i cane with my dad for a bite to eat. was greeted bu eleanor and dan simultaneously. very pleasant and smiley. food was awesome. i had the chicken burger. my dad had pie. Dessert was even better. the brownie was suoerb. would definitely recommend

Just back from a really nice mothers day meal. Food was delicious. The waitress was lovely our only slight criticism was the kitchen service. I know it is a special occasion and it was busy when we arrived but there was quite a wait to get starters and then between courses. Other than that I cannot fault this place. We have eaten here before and will likely eat here again.

We came here for mothers day & in February for Valentine's day . Both times the ambience was great , staff were exceptional, food was satisfying. I had been here many years ago but having rediscovering it I think this is going to be a new favourite of ours .

After having to leave somewhere after they told us they could not cater for my coeliac son ten mins after we’d already placed an order 🤦🏻‍♀️… We found The White Rabbit & couldn’t be made to feel any more welcome! Something that was deeply appreciated with my two young children both who have ASD & who were very tired & hungry - I was feeling very overwhelmed until we arrived. Bunny who was waiting our table couldn’t have been nicer or understanding - nothing was too much trouble (considering my children’s needs can make things a bit complicated). Everything was lovely and my son’s allergy was taken seriously but with multiple choices for him to eat. I will definitely be returning next time we visit Lyndhurst!

Met up with a group of friends for a monthly get together. We went to the bar to checkout the Real Ales they had. All 3 draught bitters were OFF, not available. That's unusual to say the least. The bar lady said she would try and put one Ale on for us. This is Thursday evening, not Monday evening. I said in the meantime I would have a bottled beer, there wasn't any bottled Ale, just the usual lagers and ciders. Well, in my experience, if your cellar is having issues you'll default to bottled Ales, if you don't have that backup, customers will walk out. This is Lyndhurst, we're 5 minutes walk to 3 other pubs.... Likely they were understaffed with no one with time to check the Ales....eventually the IPA came on. 1/3 but better than nothing at all. I'm sorry, our group we meeting for a beer in a pub that had no beer (Ale) to offer. Lucky for them we waited. Won't wait again. Ok

Main food was excellent ,staff were good but don't have the chocolate Eton mess if your expecting chocolate ,my wifesxwas just cream and meringue with raspberry sauce ,when questioned we were told the chocolate was in the cream which it definitely wasn't so save yourselves £8 and have a different pudding

Couldn’t have asked for a nicer welcome! Didn’t get his name, but it was a guy with a beard and black hair that called me ‘Skipper!’ Lovely bloke that went out of his way to be especially pleasant, which I appreciated. I don’t normally see Rib of Beef on a roast menu and I was not disappointed 😋 Not a lot of sinew and very tender meat. However, the Yorkshire pudding let it down. Far too hard, as though it had been under a heat lamp for quite some time 😞 Apart from that minor issue, a most pleasant experience 👍

I recently dined at White Rabbit and had a fantastic experience. Our waitress, Nicole, was incredibly friendly and efficient, making us feel welcome right away. The food was excellent — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. On top of that, the waiting times were impressively short, which made the whole experience even better. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and look forward to returning in the future! 5*

Good location and fair price. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Rooms are a decent size and shower is great. However, very dusty carpet in our room and the corridor. My other half suffers from asthma but even I was affected by the dust. The gentleman who checked us and served us in the restaurant is very overworked and stayed polite and calm throughout a kitchen ventilation issue during meal time. Good place to stay for exploring the New forest by cycle or car (bike rental 5 minute walk)

First time we have ever visited and dined at the White Rabbit which is pretty poor show since we have lived local for years..! Three of us for a Sunday lunch time we chose from the extensive menu our choice was of roast which was an amazing experience of freshly cooked food brought in good time during a full house, our table host was Bunny who could not do enough to make the experience so welcoming, Just perfect,

We had a really enjoyable visit here! From the moment we walked in, the staff were so welcoming and friendly, making us feel right at home. It’s always lovely to be greeted with such genuine warmth, and their attentive service really stood out. The food was what you’d expect from a chain pub—nothing fancy, but well-cooked and satisfying. It was just what we needed for a relaxed and easy meal out. The atmosphere was comfortable, and we never felt rushed, which made the experience even better. Overall, it was the wonderful staff that really made our visit special. If you're looking for a friendly place with decent pub grub and great service, this is a brilliant choice!

Restaurant is so clean and beautiful decorated and the layout stunning with the large windows and views over the garden on sunny days as it was this weekend the sun adorned us inside and with a lovely ambience and atmosphere it was easy to while away the hours in good company at a pleasant location and good food and drinks. The menu offered a wide variety, and the drinks menu was just as good. The puddings were delectable. Spoilt for choice and seeing how good the steak and ale pie looked, I changed my mind after placing my order, and I was so lucky to be accommodated without any hassle. And i am so glad i did. We were a party of 5, and none of us had any complaints at all apart plenty of compliments. Thank you so much for a great day out.

We had a lovely day out with my mum and twin boys. We only stayed for dinner but the service was exceptional. Very friendly staff and Daniel the serve possibly manager went over and above to accommodate our orders with my family who let’s say are a little bit of a finicky bunch! All the staff did a great job, sorry I didn’t get their names. On top of this the food was perfect! Thanks white rabbit. We will see you again soon

First time at this hotel . And the service was absolutely amazing . The staff are all so friendly and welcoming . The food is delicious and not too expensive . And it's just a 5 minute walk away from the high street . I would suggest anyone in the area . Or anyone wanting a few nights away to give it a try . You won't regret it .

Really busy at breakfast, the server, I have forgotten her name was absolutely amazing service, it was fairly busy but checked in with us and with my very fussy kids. Think her name was Ethan/Muriel not sure which I'm so sorry.

Very nice pub with rooms. The room was spacious and the bed was a large double. The mattress was a little too hard for me. The on-site was adequate but could do with an upgrade to the shower. There was plenty of hot water. There was plenty of choice for breakfast - enjoyable but the poached eggs were hard 🙁 All the staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. I would stay there again 🙂

Everytime visited here to eat the food is outstanding and ambience/staff lovely.

Went for a late lunch. Service was really friendly and quick. The food was pretty good on the most part, although the lunch items are quite small. The coffees seemed to be made without much thought and tasted lackluster.

Popped in for an absolutely delicious lunch on a Tuesday afternoon, the menu has a great range and there’s always something enticing on the specials board too ( make sure you have room for dessert!) Amazing service from Muriel, who was very friendly , helpful and efficient throughout. We’ll definitely be back, 100% recommended.

Really nice Sunday roast with the friendliest and welcoming staff. Clean, tidy and nicely laid out restaurant that made for a perfect Sunday afternoon. We were looked after by Katherine who was very friendly and helpful, nothing was an issue. They offered a completely separate gluten free menu. Highly recommend for an enjoyable Sunday roast spot.

I had a lovely dinner here just before Christmas around the 3rd December it was smashing I recommend the beef cheeks and mash I ate it all and pudding too , paid good money for this meal and well worth it , well done katrina and debbie and Ellie for a gr8 service 🫶

I visited this restaurant on Saturday evening with my mother. It was lovely and warm something which was very welcome on a cold wintery evening. We were greeted by very polite staff and had delicious food. Definitely a place we will be visiting again and will recommend to friends

Called in last week for food, lovely welcome from the man behind the bar he was serving food and working the bar I think his name was Dan nothing was too much trouble for him and the food was top quality the mixed grill was perfect. Thank you 👍🏻

Had a Christmas meal there with friends. Lovely food and the service couldn’t have been better

As a family, we have always commented on how nice The White Rabbit looked when you drive in to Lyndhurst. And therefore It was a no brainer to pop in for a simple dinner on our way home. I’ll start off by saying it’s a great layout, open and clean. And the staff were really accommodating and friendly. Unfortunately I was seriously saddened by the state of the food. We weren’t expecting anything particularly special, and I appreciate it was a quiet Tuesday night. But if you don’t have a chef ( or cook ) who can deliver, the easiest of menus. (air fryer level cooking.) Please don’t bother offering people a menu and misleading them in to paying a £60 bill. I can only comment on the Chicken / bacon burger I had and a Gammon egg and chips one of my other guests had. But it started with a nearly 40 minuet wait for food. Even though I could see, there were only 4 small tables being used with in the restaurant. The bacon was barely cooked and the onions rings and chips were obviously sourced from the cheapest supplier. Which is understandable but this should be reflected in the price. My dad’s Gamon was “wet and tasteless and the peas were borderline raw.” And sadly felt unwell once he got home. I want to finish positively and make a point in recognising the cheerful and friendly front of house/ waitressing staff. Hopefully this was just a bad evening in the kitchen. I hope other guests receive a different experience.

We went yesterday as they do an amazing Sunday roast, and even more so they cater for gluten free and are hot on allergens The roast was really really good! We were served by Ellie, who was really friendly, attentive and took extra care with the allergens that we have. She took the order from my 8 and 11 year old daughters and treated them like adults (which they really liked! So thank you!) The vegan ice-cream was really good Definitely recommend here 👌

Very good food n service was excellent. Manager even asked us if we wanted to move to accommodate our dog, brought over a sausage n bowl of water for her, nice touch.

Visited family and came with partner and 2 kids. Staff were extremely friendly, attentive but in the right way and despite being busy had a quick chat with us and kids. Even gave wrapped Xmas books for the 2 children. Came back the next day with more family it was so good! Bunny served us on the second night, we didn’t get the name of the first but she was lovely too.

The staff at the White Rabbit are very friendly and helpful they put the effort in to make sure your stay is as good as it can be, the food is also very good we ate there every day breakfast and evening meals, all in all a very relaxing place to spend a few days or longer.

Popped in for lunch after a dog walk. Honestly such a lovely pub. Really friendly staff, great selection of drinks and the food was outstanding! I work for Greeneking and it's the best Greeneking food I've ever had. We will be back 10/10

We visited the White Rabbit on Boxing Day, myself and our family, which was a table of 11, had the most amazing food and day. The service was fantastic our service Munel was friendly polite and incredibly helpful. Our food was outstanding and fantastic value for money. We all would highly recommend it to anyone.
