We went to The White Hart as a preflight stopover meal. Up on entering, it was a nice looking place with lots of interesting looking décor. I ordered a mixed grill and my wife had a steak. The steak was cooked to perfection, it was tender and very flavoursome. The mixed grill was also excellent and both meals were filling. I was also extremely happy with the service we received which was prompt. As like most children, mine are a little picky but they enjoyed their meals and cleaned up their plates. Overall, I’d recommend the place and if we’re in the area again, we will undoubtedly visit it again. Finally, the meals are very good value for money!

me (17 years old) and my sister (18 years old) went to the white heart in poulner to watch the england euros game and we found a seat and sat outside and we hadn’t ordered drinks yet since the bar was full and two minutes later one of the staff came out and asked for ID which my sister provided and since i’m 17 i was only going to order a coke and didn’t have ID. the staff member then left and another came out and proceeded to shout at us harshly and kick us out and gave no explanation to why. i do not recommend coming to this pub!!

We booked in for a family meal, staff were very welcoming and helpful, we ordered our meals and although we all ordered different meals one of which was gluten free they arrived reasonably quickly and cooked to perfection. We stayed for a few drinks after our meal and and enjoyed a game of pool, Car parking wasn't an issue as there is a large car park at the rear of the building and I understand there are rooms to be rented out so we are looking to book a weekend break in the near future, as an added bonus the Original White Hart is dog friendly so we will be able to bring our doggies the next time we are in the area, would definitely recommend people pop in and check out this lovely old building.

Stopped by for bike meet. Blackcurrant cordial looked watered down before it even got into glass. Asked for vegetarian option at bar for BBQ. Was told nothing available, so I asked if they had anything else vegetarian on a different menu. Again told no, and was told only snacks available (crisps, nuts). Yet just as we were leaving, I saw a vegetable tart being taken out of the kitchen for a different customer. Extremely disappointed to be left without any food. I don't know if it's because it's a listed building or not, but there is zero disabled access here. Main door to bar too narrow with second door right in the way, large chairs right by the door and in the way of getting around to the bar and other areas. Narrow door/hallway to toilets and garden. Steps into toilets.

It's October 2021 and yet you are still insisting on table service? I would have received a warmer welcome at the North Pole than by the blonde bar lady whom clearly either wanted to be somewhere else, was having a bad day or PMT? Manners cost nothing! What a real asset to the business she must be! In this day and age particularly in the hospitality industry can you afford to be so flippant towards your customers? The beer was also on the turn and full of sediment. It's a shame but judging by other reviews on here you seriously need to get your house in order or go under. Staff training perhaps in customer relations? Constructive criticism so heed, take on board and move forward. I await your response if necessary with baited breath.

Refused a pregnant women use of their toilet when she had been stuck in red traffic on A31. Was informed by the young girl with curly brown hair on the door that the toilets are broken, pretty sure legally you’re not allowed to open if you haven’t got working toilets. 100% lying as she was smirking and looking over shoulder whilst saying it, you should be disgusted in yourselves. No wonder you had no customers inside or outside on a Sunday afternoon if that’s how you treat people.

My heavily pregnant wife and I had been sat in a lot of traffic on the A31 so decided to head to The White Hart as she was desperately in need of their facilities. When asking the member of staff at the door if she could come in to use the toilets, she rudely and abruptly said no and that all toilets on the premises were broken. Either the member of staff was lying and was happy to see a pregnant lady continue to be in discomfort, or the pub was breaking the law by being open and not having any toilet facilities. It's true that we weren't customers, but this is shocking behaviour towards a pregnant lady. Shame on you, White Hart Inn.

Surly service. Popped in for a quick pint and to watch the West Brom V Arsenal game whilst on a staycation staying in Ringwood. The barmaid seemed less than enthused and slightly aggressive, initially I thought this may have been because Im Indian. However it seems her surly attitude wasn’t reserved to those with a darker skin tone, she seemed genuinely aggrieved to be serving the local patrons. Perhaps she was just having a bad day? Id avoid unless you are a local. In response to the owners reply querying whether i had the right White Hart Inn in Poulner (classic gaslighting), I find your response facetious to say the least. Rather than deal with the truculent attitude of your young bar staff you basically deny that I visited your establishment, embarrassing…

Just visited this pub with my hubby. Steak Night is a buy one get one free situation, which is a good deal. We booked last minute and were accommodated. On arrival I noticed that the CV19 restrictions were lax. I think the White Heart Inn really need to consider spacing between people at the bar and in the restaurant. When we arrived there was noone else In the restaurant so we didn't realise that several other people would be arriving to eat with us!!!! However we had ordered our food and were eating when others arrived into the small dining room.My hubby had a rib eye / medium rare and I had a 6oz fillet / medium to well done. I ordered the home made onion rings and peppercorn sauce, hubby had garlic mushrooms, stilton sauce and a large glass of house red wine. The steak we found to be of good quality, the stilton sauce was flavourful but thin, I love peppercorn sauce, I have had it hundreds of times in many different countries, I have never had peppercorn sauce with this flavour, it was thin and sweet with no pepper flavour, it's not pepper/ peppercorn sauce!! The onion rings were not home made they were frozen but fine. The steaks came with chips (chunky frozen) peas and tomato which were all nice enough. Wine was ok for house wine. All in all it was ok. Staff were friendly but need some CV19 training, some deep cleaning needs to be undertook. It was reasonable at Steak Night prices but would not pay full price.
