I’ve visited this establishment on a few occasions, today I came in for breakfast and a coffee. Plenty of parking spaces and good sized beer garden with lovely decor. Don’t forget to log your car registration details on entering the pub! Staff are friendly and hard working. I was served quickly but it was very quiet as I visited at 9am. Food was served fast and all my food was hot and to specification but I didn’t get a check back to make sure everything was ok with my food. I love that when you buy a coffee you get free refills. The best thing about the breakfast and coffee is that you get all this for under £5, I ordered a traditional breakfast and free coffee refills. The pub was very clean inside and out but quite behind the times with regards to decor and the toilets are quite run down but you can see that the staff have done there best to keep the place clean and tidy. There is a free activity sheet for the children and I love the free Wetherspoons magazine. I would love for the staff to be a bit more interactive with the customers but I could see that they were a little short staffed at times. The pub interior could definitely do with updating, especially the men’s toilets hence the average review, my score would have been very good if the decor was improved. Every time I come to this pub I always have a good experience, the staff are always running around and working hard but sometimes this can be detrimental to the customer service as staff are a little overstretched because of staff shortage/tight budgets. The general atmosphere is relaxing and friendly, I would recommend this pub because the prices are really good, the staff are friendly and it’s generally a clean pub, how can you complain when a pint of san Miguel is £3.40? If you have children there’s not much to do except the activity sheet so bring some stuff for the kids to do. I will definitely visit this pub again, keep up the good work.

I’m only having a drink inside when the bizzys turn up and tug a grafter ad the some bloke in adidas does a Liam Gallagher outside when the Mariah turns up,like it’s a rap video In progress. The time before I was going on holiday so went in for breakfast and 2 travellers were aging a straightener in the carpark so I said F this I’m goin Subway instead ….. Port Vegas

Quite a lot of hostile comment on here so I felt obliged to put in my six penn'orth as an on/off customer of 20 odd years. Firstly, I can see how the parking fine would catch people out...fortunately for me, the very pleasant staff member who emphasised it to me some months ago (and even reminded me on a subsequent visit) saved me from unnecessary expense. The hallmarks for me of this pub are friendly and quick service, an affordable menu of food catering for all tastes and (usually) a good pint of cask ale. The toilets have always been a cut above, though I agree that some of the furniture has seen better days. The clientele have always struck me as being amiable and welcoming... "all human life is here". It seems reasonable for such a well-used pub to want to control the parking and maybe more obvious signage might help here but the check-in process on the wall-mounted tablets could not be simpler.

Very disappointed. First out of beer I wanted, then out of WKD that my wife wanted. Bbq chicken melt, chicken overcooked and tough, peas cold, tomato not grilled, chips hard,not cooked enough. In short, the very worst Wetherspoons I have been in. Thank goodness I won't be back.

Just had an excellent meal with hubby and kids. Food was amazing and Jessie who served us was so Fri and attentive. I certainly recommend a visit to this Weatherspoons.

Came today, staff messed up order, didn’t put things through and then came over said I forgot to put that through so you can’t have it, that’s why you should repeat orders back to customers, food was worse than basic, no one finished a meal. Wouldn’t kill the staff to look clean and tidy either not exactly what you want people serving your meals and drinks looking like they haven’t even washed today with dirty clothes. Customer service training wouldn’t harm this pub!

On our way to Cheshire Oaks popped in for lunch. Food was excellent and friendly service and very happy with corvid19 safety. One of better Wetherspoons. Dont forget to register your car number for free parking or else.

A slightly rough & ready place, the Convid 19 is very good but is spoilt by certain people not bothering with distancing, this is not Wetherspoons fault.I had rump steak last night which was cooked perfectly for my taste, wife had the spicy meat pizza, not the best but again such good value .The staff were all very friendly but most didn't wear masks.

What a great experience. Safe, clean, excellent food and service. Met on entry by a lovely lady who explained the new protocol. Shown to our table with a track and trace form and assistance with the new ordering process. Nothing was too much trouble. Steak Club meals were first class and drinks included and prices were less than before shutdown. Would recommend as a regular of Wetherspoons and this is one of the best Wetherspoons Restaurants.

Came with my brother who's 4, sat near the back. Screaming kids everywhere, kids rolling on the floor because their parents can't control them. Sat in the main area and got told to move because my brother's 4. I'm sorry but I'm not sitting in an area with screaming uncontrollable kids.

Great cheap food here, good service. Little dated inside but still for the price and amount of food you get it’s great for a cheap day/night out!

And not an April fools joke. Can you believe it, after travelling 18 miles from home we call in to have our breakfast as we do every Monday before we go shopping, and the young lady behind the bar tells me that I am two minutes to late for breakfast. 'Come on show a bit of discretion, its only two minutes, I've waited at the bar ten minutes to be served some days, no problem getting breakfast then.' You wasn't at the bar before 12, you cant have breakfast. . 'Its up to your discretion, ' I've been later and other members of staff have had no problem with it.' breakfast finishes at 12, your too late. ' OK 2 coffees' (which ended up being six coffees while we waited for Breweres fayre 2 for £8.99 with friendly helpful staff, with discretion and integrity.) I will be back next Monday, hopefully before 12 for breakfast, I have been going there for 45 years, and one unhelpful and unfriendly member of staff in that time wont stop me, I suppose isn't bad in all that time. Tim you have the best chain of pubs in the country, keep it that way, if you read these reviews, you need to get some of your staff on customer care courses, and if they don't show any friendliness, integrity, and a good attitude to customers, then perhaps they are in the wrong line of work. There. are a lot of people out there who will go the extra mile and get you five star reviews instead of one star reviews. I hope next Monday night that I can write a better review. Isn't trip advisor a good site, you can tell it as it is, and people take notice. Better for everyone. (except poor staff) otherwise nothing will improve.

There was 2 young women serving today, both were about as helpful as a cockroach in a kitchen. They didn’t want to help with anything from something as small as asking for 1 brown and 1 white toast. They refused to look past their nose for soya milk for a vegan. Didn’t serve the Jam and marmalade that was supposed to come with the toast we ordered. They were too busy having loud obnoxious conversations to notice that people were waiting. The eggs served were seriously over cooked and may as well have been scrambled for how broken the yolks were. The most unfriendly sour faced cows I’ve ever been served by (if you could call it service) 19/3/19

We normally visit the Wetherspoons in Chester but needed one with a car park since I have a broken leg! It was friendly and helpful with tasty Chicken Wednesday dishes.

Went to wetherspoons tonight for steak club ordered steak medium to well had to send it back twice blood was running out of it waitress kept apologising but probably won't order steak again really not good

Food is very good and consistent for a great price, had to knock a star off for their lazy staff though, whilst cuing two female members of staff were letting this poor lad do everything and serve everyone whilst they just sat there blatantly ignoring everyone having a chat!

A nice bar, very close to Overpool station.Called in , it was fairly busy. Took an absolute age to get served, and the food we ordered also took a very long time to arrive. Now i must say, the one barman(yes, only one), and the one kitchen staff coped brilliantly in the face of adversity, serving as quick as possible, with good humour despite several people waiting at all times fo food and drinks.A local commented staff hadn't turned in to work as "Liverpool are at home" and suggested it wasnt the first time it had happened. Not fair on the customers, or the 2 overworked staff who were at work.Need to sort this out Wetherspoons.The eggs Royale was excellent by the way when we finally got it.

It really depends on the staff. For example, and I'm not going to name names so for the duration of this review, the duty manager on shift tonight will be called Jake and a bar associate will be called Andrew. Neither of these seem to have customer skills and look as though they hate their jobs. In addition to this, Andrew seemed to really dislike his job considering he told me to "go f**k myself".

Went here recently as a family of four. The food was ok, not amazing but not bad for the price. I had the Christmas dinner and my only real issue with it was that the “ Maris piper” mashed potatoes tasted an awful lot like dried potato to me. All in all it was a typical Wetherspoons experience. Cheap and cheerful and filled a gap. Staff were friendly enough but seemed to be rushed off their feet and it wasn’t even really that busy.

Went to this Wetherspoons to meet up with a friend for breakfast. On our first attempt to order we were informed that there were no poached eggs or muffins... so no eggs royale for us. I then ordered the avocado bagel and the maple syrup pancakes.

I have just had the worst mixed ever ! First it arrived cold and with no sausage then returned to me buy this time i was absolutely starving so ate most of it even thou everything was dry and overcooked then i got to the steak which could be used to hammer nails ! Also my Partner had the gourmet beef burger which came incomplete but all the manager offered us was a drink or a pudding to say sorry, she did not even offer to get us the missing parts of the dish. Very disappointed and will not return to this Wetherspoons again

We always enjoy a Wetherspoons pub, we actively look for one wherever we go as we know we will get a good meal and a drink at a good price, and to be fair this is the only time i have been disappointed in one.... but it was just one member of staff i had a problem with, so sorry Wheatsheaf, but you need to train your saff to be more friendly and polite or at least employ people who actually want to work there.

We only live down the road from this pub and when we have time we will go for a breakfast here. So cheap and always hot and fresh food. Lots of places to sit with big car park. Recommended.

Uno de los mejores pubs en Ellesmere Port. No tenemos mucho para elegir, pero como pubs, este es limpio, acogedor y hace un buen untacky selección de bebidas y comida que todos razonables.

While eating lunch with our 10 year old daughter in the Family area, a hen party came in, extremely rowdy, shouting, swearing, and waving penis inflatables right next to our table.We left barely having touched our meals and upon telling staff we were met with a feeble apology and general disinterest.

A typical weatherspoons pub, the food was good, as per usual the queue was long to order the food and tables were slow to be cleaned away.....short staffed?? But yes for a budget meal and drink it's good value for money

I arrived at the Wheatsheaf yesterday morning at 8.10, in time for breakfast before a conference starting at 9. I was greeted at the door by staff informing they opened at 9 am, I told them their web site stated 8 am as opening time and they said they knew it was wrong and needs updating, I notice it is still not updated! A disappointing start to a day with no breakfast and a disappointment with wetherspoons group, please update your web site. John

Like most, this wetherspoon has your affordable booze and food, tasty and quick. But the staff here are the best I've seen over the country, very friendly, love to chat when they can, great service and quick, Hard working group. The decor of this building is a bit dated, toilet facilities are good overall great atmosphere and comfort.

Decided to go out for breakfast for a change, and as the Wheatsheaf is a Witherspoon decided to give it a try. My othef half had a full English, while I tried the eggs benedict with Salmon. Must admit really tasty on all counts, and with coffed top up, good value. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.

Possibility the best pub in the Port for price and service. Great beer garden. Good to catch up with friends without having to deal with drunks. Occasionally the police van turns up, but no real trouble.

You really can't fault a Wetherspoons breakfast. Everything is very reasonably priced and the place is spacious and clean.

My daughter has to eat there the first night of her visit from Canada. We love their food & the price is always right, including your choice of drink.

Came for food during europa final so was very busy. Food was as decent as normal spoons. Nothing special but not bad. Decent ale range as per normal. Not a characteristic spoons but non dingy either.

12 or so months ago, this pub was in terminal decline. No management. Poorly trained staff etc. Now, thanks to Lea M, Lee E, Lee M and all of the mainly new staff, it is a pleasure to visit this pub.However, special praise to Michelle J***s, you are a star. Luv u girl xxxMike Hull

There breakfast is served til late and there is lots of variety and we have never been disappointed with it! It is always fab and i love it!For a pub that doesn't have music it actually has a good atmosphere with lots of friendly locals.Enough toilets which is important for ladies!A good place to meet up with friends, also has an outside seating area.

Friendly pub with plenty of space and tables. Food was typical Weatherspoons menu but well priced and good. Nearest Metro is Overpool 200 yards away. Large Car park and outdoor drinking/dining area.

This pub has a friendly atmosphere.Plenty to choose from on the menu which is typical of a Wetherspoons.Food is of sufficient portions and was served hot.As is usual in these places deserts portions could be slightly larger.

Visit here often the beer and the food are very reasonably priced. It is a Wetherspoons so you get value for money.

Great Wetherspoons pub which we use on a regular basis, however, there has been NO real ale on for quite some time due to a flood in the cellar, come on Mr Wetherspoon get your finger out and get it sorted, you are losing a fortune!

Every time I go for food there's always that one drunk old man who's falling over everywhere spilling beer and swearing if anyone has kids I would not go to here for food it's a shame cuz the food is really nice

We eat here whenever we are staying in the area as Wetherspoons cater for Gluten free. Plenty of free parking on site and pub situated on a main road in a decent residential area.I had the rump steak on grill night and it was exceptional, jacket potato cooked just right, salad so fresh. Went the next evening for chicken night and the half roast chicken was succulent and really tasty - have the seasoning on your chips, love it!This pub has definitely upped it's game in the last few months. Full of diners!The staff are always pleasant and cheerful. Thank you!Will be back next time we are in the area.

Pub needs a complete overhaul. The pub pint is good. Sadly not in a great area so be careful. Bar staff are great and friendly.

smart looking building when you drive up to it, a bit disappointing on the inside it just looks tired,the food and drinks are good as usual for a wethersoon.

This place had a good size carpark and staff were out cleaning it when we arrived. A friendly barman greeted us when we entered. Tables were clean. Breakfast was cooked perfectly and we didnt wait long. Toilets were clean. It was very quiet this was around 9am. Staff thanked us when we left and we would happily return if in the area again.

Tonight... Wednesday.... 6pm on a "special night" ... Chicken... Guess what?? No half chickens for the signature "chicken" evening.. This outlet of wetherspoons never ceases to amaze. No lime cordial... No jacket potatoes... No this.. No that. Thomas Telford branch of wetherspoons chain issues far superior. Please wetherspoons... Wake up.. now you have a management position available.... Give it to Vanessa from Thomas Telford and allow her to manage. The previous manager was as useless as an ash tray on a motorbike.By the way.... Hygiene standards (tables and floors) way below par.

This used to be one of the best Wetherspoons but sad to say that visiting recently I was really disappointed. Kitchen running out of simple stock items especially burritos early on Mexican Night is unacceptable. Apprehensive about visiting again but the staff are really friendly and helpful so I hope this is just a glitch with food supplies and standards improve back to how it used to be some months ago.

I have had the Aberdeen Angus steak in all sorts of weather spoons from here to Aberystwyth but the one I had here was by far the best I've tasted. Cooked to perfection and served with great customer service from the duty manager Paul. I would defiantly recommend this pub to my friends and family and will be coming back here when I'm up this way.The pub was very clean and a friendly warm welcoming atmosphere. The staff were very efficient and made us feel like we were the only people in the establishment.

Only come here for breakfast or a light bite for lunch, as prices are excellent. Don't bother with Sunday lunch or steaks as they are appalling! The breakfasts are around £3-£4 and are worth it as you get value for money. The only problem is having to pay extra for the tea/coffee when they used to be included in the price. For lunch I recommend the reggae chicken wraps. Also cheap for a few drinks before a night out.

Well what can I say had a return vist to this pub last night and it's as bad if not worse than ever my last review I said about the steaks and the poor action of the staff and manager well at least the waitress last night did her best better than last time. But still no manager in sight The place was disgusting this was 4. 30 in the afternoon peas thrown round the floor tables dirty Ordered 4 steaks 3 sirloin and one rump the sirloin was surposed to be rare they were so thin they couldn't be rare I sent mine back my daughter ordered pepper sauce which only arrived after I had to go and ask by the time it came she had almost finished Yes Richie I came back and the place is still badly run shame because we used this pub for years when it first opened as a wether spoons and we do vist lots of them around the country this is by far one of the worst ones

Try the curry and fish nights great value.Staff very good, and always trying to please,some of the staff i would say are excellent Good but loud atmosphere.If you want to eat quietly eat in the back room section.Toilets spotless

Great Pub with a friendly atmosphere, beer is very reasonably priced with lots of choice. Great real ales shocked, with guest brewery drinks!

Last time I was there was along time ago as after eating a meal here I was so ill has put me off ever eating here again.staff were not interested when I informed them.

Richie and Sharron and all the team have been wonderful, helpful and supportive of our party. They have made such a massive difference to the School Reunion in 2011 that we have hosted there again in 2014. Cannot thank you enough. You deserve a raise! x

This is by far one of the worst wether spoons we have ever been in Staff couldn't care less whether you come back or not and neither does the manager It took two hours to clear our table photo to prove Daughter had to send her meal back cold steak One review on here said it only took 8 minutes to cook a jacket and mixed grill really !!!If you need to vist the ladies loo you have to close your ears from the poor use of the English language But on the up side you can buy any amount of cigarettes and tobacco you want under all the nose's of the staff So much for Martin banning smoking in his pubs they sell more tobacco than the old tobacco shops

stoped here a few times its the best weatherspoons around been to camberly surry and ellesmere port thomas telford but this is the best we been to food is very nice and fresh we hope to come back soon

We went for breakfast as soon as it open but food won't ready so we had to wait about 10mins but we didn't mind cos we won't in a rush but it was good food and enough for ur money and service was great and friendly staff.

The Wetherspoon public house provides a lovely fish dinner, with friendly staff that make you feel nothing is too much trouble. The beer garden is lovely to sit in on a balmy summer's evening with a drink.

A lovely friendly pub serving up piping hot fresh food straight off the 3663 articulated lorry. The seating area outside is a real treat on a sunny day where you can mingle with knowledgeable, friendly locals. The puddles of urine under each urinal looked most impressive & to top if all off you can wash down your microwaved meal with a sumptuous pint of flat real ale with no head. If your lucky you may have a fight to polish the night off or get mugged on your way home through ellesmere ports delightful neighbourhood.

my experience of Wetherspoons on Overpool Road is first class. the staff are always very friendly & welcoming the food is always excellent, the Beer is first class, give it a try you will be impressed

Visited here for the first time since it became a wetherspoons due to its formally poor reputation. How different it is from the past! Staff are very attentive and friendly, food took about 10 minutes to be delivered and was of great quality. Steak and a drink for just £5.99 wow! I had a pint of Weetwood Cheshire Cat which was as nice as any I have tasted. Will definitely be returning having overcome the stigma attached with this pub

We visited for lunch whilst out in Ellesmere Port and found a nice clean table in the rear dining area which was quiet and away from the main drinking area. Our order was taken at the bar by a friendly young female. I had a jacket potato and my husband had a mixed grill, both meals were very appetising and excellent value. The mixed grill came with a free drink, which to my surprise included vodka and tonic. My husband had a pint of London Pride which was of excellent quality and crystal clear. Food was delivered in about 8 minutes despite there being 30-40 other people dining. What a lovely, well run pub we will definitely be returning. Thanks

great speedy service from efficient friendly staffpity the chef couldnt cook my steak rare as requested, it was medium wellits not rocket science that if you have a thin steak it doesn t take long to cook, or choose a thicker steak and keep the thin one for a customer who wants it well donedrinks good as usual but no fortyniner or wheatsheaf that i have had recently so tried the londons pride. Ok but not brilliant

We have been to this pub several times when visiting family in little sutton.We have tried there fabulous breakfast that come highly recommended .There evening meals are really really good and cheap.It is the atmosphere here that is 100% my husband is an Everton supporter and he wanted to go to the match 2 locals Colin and Colin took him under there wing with the bus and getting back to the pub we live down South and you could be in a pub all night and nobody would speak to you.This pub is a local one and you are made to feel like you are one of the locals We will be visiting again as the food and atmosphere is hard to beat.Thank you guys and girls!

I have visited the wheatsheaf on many an occasion and prefer it to the main 'town' withies in ells. port. The staff are always friendly, service is good, breakfast outstanding value ie £2.60 for full inc veg. alternative. The beers are always varied and of course good.it's better to visit early afternoon if you prefer some peace, you do get the odd 'rough' type coming in but you'd expect this in such a town.

I think this pub is great value for money, the service is always great, staff are always friendly. I can't fault it.

The Wheat Sheaf in Ellesmere Port has a very good friendly atmosphere. I have visited on numerous occasions and always found the food well cooked and presented. The place is always spotless and the staff helpful and friendly. Some other Wetherspoons pubs in other areas could do well to follow how wonderfully this establishment is run.

Another nice, well presented Wetherspoons pub, this one though seems alot quieter than other Wetherspoons i have visited, which i like. decent ale at a great price. its a winning formula.

nice food with a wide varietybreakfasts are fab value and very fillinglots of variety for lunch and tea time including burgers, wraps, light bites, steaks,curry etc etcthe only thing I don't rate is the Sunday lunch it's more like a school dinner (go to carvery or old hall farm) good atmosphere for nights out but no music (doesn't bother me)cheap and cheerful and good disabled accessnever had a problem in here or in the Thomas Telford in towntip: the reggae chicken wrap is yummy!
