June's Food Court in Cheshire West and Chester

Don’t bother! Incredibly rude staff, over priced snacks and we got charged twice! No apology and rubbish customer service through the refund process

I went to June's today and was shocked by the rudeness of the customers. I was waiting in a queue for coffee and an awful customer was screaming at the really polite staff members and came down the queue acting very aggressively. The staff member and Managers had exemplary customer service, very impressive. The coffee and cakes were lovely.

Poor show. Food is average, at best, and overpriced.

Burger was raw. Whole place stunk of sick. Food quality was alright. Everything good except burger and smells. Brother felt sick after eating

Overpriced but expected. Food wasn’t worth the price, they serve old chips and quality overall just isn’t worth it. Just bring your food with you. Get food here only when you’ve got nothing else. Snacks too are so expensive it’s like buying a full meal.

I am currently sitting in the food court with my 6 year old grandson. Who unfortunately only eats pizza with a tomato base. Nothing else. They are made to order. So you would think, being customer focused, they could put through a base with only tomato paste at a reduced price. A bit of flexibility as they are freshly made. But no. The cost - £9:49!!!!! And when we opened the box . The pizza was charred around the outside. But hey, it's throughput. Visitors come and go. Day to day. So we don't count. Very disappointed.

Food 4 the price wasn't great burger was with cheese no salad chips dry daughters food was cold

A little expensive but no more so than other eateries, main problem was the separate counters for different foods. We wanted a burger, chicken strips and a pizza, by the time I got to the third counter the first counter food was cold. If we'd wanted tea/coffee that would have been 4 different counters to visit. Good job it wasn't too busy or with queuing and crowds you'd never get anything worth eating... Stupid system...☹️☹️

The vegan banana fish and chips thing is horrible. I don't know what they were thinking but it was like eating a bag of strings. Very expensive too!!

After a couple of bites of the classic cheese burger I hit gristle and bone, absolutely vile. Expensive prices for cheap produce. Staff lacking common sense aswell

I ordered 2 frappes from the coffee counter after waiting for some time to be served, the server was polite but I watched him prepare the drinks using his hands to scoop the ice, and after receiving the drinks which could only be described as a weak tasting thin milkshake and costing £4.10 each we were extremely disappointed

I mean look at the pizza and judge it your self. Expensive (£9.50) and poor quality at the same time. But not the worst pizza ever I guess. The atmosphere is bad and the customer service was okay.

The prices are high but it was expected, theres no cheaper options at the zoo. Its annoying you have to order different meals at different stations because one was quick and one was super slow. the chicken strips were actually nice (£8.99) and my daughter enjoyed the kids fish and chips (£7.50). The kids cheeseburger came on a big bun with a tiny little burger (£7.50). You get a free drink with the kids meals but they aren't nice so we had to buy additional drinks at £3.50 each. The cleaners were very quick to clear tables after someone left and there was plenty of seating available. We'd probably eat from the fish shop again but the burger one was very basic. You get 10% discount with your membership card

Prices are on the high side for the convenience of such good outlets within the zoo, but the food *is* nice. Great options for everyone.

Painfully slow which is surprising for a place like Chester zoo. You need to up your game here given the prices you charge

Brings the zoo into disrepute… awful food and experience! As a lifetime member then always like to support the zoo and like to spend some money when we visit. Today we went into June’s and paid £8.09p for supposedly chicken strips and chips .. I know you wouldn’t give that slop to your animals! The food was cold and the chips were not great… there was no pride here. The chairs and tables dirty and need cleaning. The zoo is always 10/10 - 5 stars for me … but in future I think I will bring my own food with me. I know Chester Zoo primary objective is to manage animals - so maybe look at bringing in another professional organisation to run your restaurants or if already done then get them replaced before it reflects badly on the zoo!

Over priced and underwhelming. Pizza, fish and chips, burgers all could be good but they are really mediocre at the best. Service was fast though.

Plenty of seating and staff cleaning and clearing quickly when we visited. Food is quite expensive but lots of choice. Fish and chips, pizza etc. You can sit inside and eat your own picnic without restriction also.

Waited in line for 15 minutes to pay £13.50 for a sausage that looked like one of the zoo exhibits served with some chips that had been cooked on a radiator, don’t forget the microscopic watered down coke. Then sat on a table that looked like it’d been used as a urinal to eat it. Not exactly Michelin star

The food is dreadful ordered steak and mushroom pie, one mushroom and thirty small onions few pieces of hard beef covered in awful pastry, watery mushy peas hard chips and the whole serving barely warm. The older of the two ladies serving was very rude and off hand. Ordered pizza for children It was ok but at £15.00 was greatly over priced. The management at the zoo need to spend time organising better healthier food choices and children’s selection, most people have children with them and the prices for the meals is scandalous, when people pay so much to visit the zoo they should be able to purchase good quality food at reasonable prices.

Quiet today. Service was quick and friendly. Burger and chips were tasty and plentiful. Good value with a coffee included.

The food didn't look bad, but is low quality and expensive. paying £15 for a cold burger and fries, with unmelted cheese and cold buns. I would not be surprised if all the ingredients are just the cheapest stuff they could find at their closest supermarket.

Fast food outlet, offering coffee/cakes, ice creams, pizza, burgers, fish & chips. Captive audience with motorway service station prices. Counter service was slow; food was hot but lacked inspiration and presentation. Floor staff cleaning up were great. Discount available for zoo members if you scan card at time of purchase. It would be nice to see more healthier options and a wider variety of simple foods offered in the future.

This is more about the quality of the food markets at Chester zoo during the evening lanterns. We had food from the burgers and brats stall, had two bratwurst which I didn’t enjoy at all, they were barely warm when we got them and I saw a “chef” keep carrying food to these huts with a tea cloth over the top, hardly hygienic. There were around 8 staff working in the hut but none of them had any direction or anyone managing them so the service was horrifically slow, other staff were telling people in the queue to get closer together - no the reason why the queue is large is due to slow service not the fact we’re spaced out! The food is as terrible and overpriced, I didn’t bother taking it back as didn’t have the patience to wait in the queue again. The staff preparing the food all had long hair no hair nets or any kind of food hygiene training evident. Concerning really think food standards would have had a field day .

Came for food while visiting Zoo. It's ok but service very slow

Food court at Chester Zoo. Needed food after a long walking day, but not happy with choices quick fried or nothing. Hungry so settled for an industrial burger and chips served by an indifferent lady. Coffee good, though, a basic American. This is a large food hall, and need to cater for some healthy eating, some salad options wouldn’t go amiss. Would avoid on a future v.

This place is HUGE with several food outlets within. I opted for steak and mushroom pie. Still looking for the steak but found plenty of tiny pickled onions, which is a first for me in 70 years. TBH I wasn't impressed and ate more chips than anything else. There's no table service but the meals are served up pretty quick.

Really fast service, freshly made southern fried chicken burgers. The fries were okay. The seating area was great.

not a lot of options but the food that they did serve was hot and there was little to no wait. i had the ultimate with the chicken burger, for £15.50 it wasn’t spectacular but it was tasty. plenty of staff around cleaning tables and they were also very efficient and friendly.

£25 for 2 burgers and chips. Had the buttered chicken, absolutely tasteless. Comes with cheap nasty frozen chips (about 10 of them). Seating is filthy. Bring your own food.

Not the best, the chips were nice there but the burger was a miss for me. Overpriced too but overall it wasnt the worst.

Unclean and has a toilet smell drifting through. Very poor alternative choices and only 2 of our party could eat here due to dietary requirements. The quality did not measure up with the cost! One of our party was also ill after only eating at the zoo. We have always liked this, but won't be back unfortunately.

Nice food with a good choice of quality meals

Great place to eat, 3 main options - pizza, fish-n-chips and burgers. Only issue is each one has its own queue so, if there are 4 of you and 1 wants pizza, 1 wants burgers and 2 want fish-n-chips you have to wait in 3 separate queues, which is a right faff - would be much better with generic tills at the front where you could order and then pick up at the relevant counter.

Based within Chester zoo ,the food was quite tasty but very expensive with chips a small fish and mushy peas with a drink £13.50 but with picnic tables around you can take your own food and save a bit.

We ate here in 2021 and the burgers were awful. Thought we'd just grab chips this time... surely you can't go wrong with chips? How wrong we were. Freezing cold, grey, tiny portion of chips. When I took them back to complain, the lovely server already knew what I was going to say. Says it all really. I don't even know why they have that awful cafe on the site. Plenty of snack/coffee stalls...they're fairly decent. Packed lunch next time though...

Varying standards of food and somewhat expensive. Also rather noisy but I suppose this is to be expected when there are loads of kids.

Very very expensive especially when you have a large group of you, not value for money. I wouldn't recommend this place if you are on a tight budget with the family, please take your own food and drinks.

Pizzas OK, burgers absolutely awful. The servers looked as though it was the biggest inconvenience that we were there, the burger was dry and tasted like cardboard, and the price for fairly horrible food slammed down in front of us like we were lucky to even be given that was eye wateringly expensive. They actually made my food wrong first and instead of remaking it scraped the wrong filling off the burger and replaced it. Bring a picnic, don't bother with the food court!

Bit of a wait but it was dinner time, burger n chips wer very nice.

Food was ok if you wanted fast food. Quite big portions and freshly cooked, cost £15.50 for an ultimate meal deal. Being a wet day it was very crowded and noisy in the cafeteria, but there is plenty of seating.

Good day out, nice fish & chips, a bit pricy but members' discount helps

My son had haddock, chips & mushy peas with Fanta. We were served quickly and the food was tasty and hot. A generous choice of condiments available also by the till. I had a cheeseburger with chips and a latte. This was a separate counter and queue and a bit longer to wait. However, an order number was provided and the wait was well organised and easy to negotiate. The ice cream was fabulous on a hot day. Lots of flavours and flexibility on combinations. My son wanted all strawberry and I had banana with salted caramel. Delicious.

Staff hygene left a lot to be desired, pizza was well below average

Food is good. But would say if your going as a group. Take picnic. Im a regular there. I love it. The zoo is iconic and very proud to be so close to it. Just a bus journey away

Could do with sorting your pricing, Ice cream £3.75 a scoop £4 two scoops. Even taking of the price of the cone you could drop the single to £2.90 £3 ? . Bit much 25p difference for twice the size.

We only stopped for coffee on our way round the Zoo. The place was very clean and the service excellent. There's plenty of choice of drinks and food.

The Chip Shop chips were awful and the cuppacino was TASTELESS warm water with a dash of milk, the WORST I have EVER had, after queuing for over 20 mins. £13.50 for fish & chips yor avin a giraffe.

They could do with cooking the sausages a little bit longer and making they're gravy and curry sauces thicker but apart from that it was ok .

Food was tasty, queues were long and for autistic children/people quite loud and a little distressing due to the volume of people dining at rhe same time.

In all my years of being in the food and restaurant industry I have never had a worse meal. We got 3 adult burgers with chips and 2 kids burgers with chips plus drinks. This came to over £50. How you can justify that price for the quality of food we received is beyond me. The trays didn’t even have tray liners on them. The burger patties where pre cooked and staged. Buns not toasted and no sauce on any of them. Chips stone cold. If your kitchen manager was on shift at this point he/she needs needs to find a different career path as managing busy periods is to much for them.

This place is a great place to eat at the zoo. They have fully grasped the idea that the place gets super busy at key times, even outside of peak visiting hours. However, there's always lots of staff on, and they always seem helpful. The service points are broken down into different food types - burger, pizza, etc. It's a bit odd that you can't cross-order some things though - chips aren't available at the pizza counter for example, even though its a few feet away from the burger one where they are. However, if it's not busy, the staff will usually go grab what you need, especially if you're clearly ordering for small children. Food is decent and not overpriced for the captive audience, like it can be in other large attractions. The place is clean and there's usually a lot of tables available as well.

Plenty of choice. Healthy options available as well as fish and chips, pizza etc. Hot and cold drinks available and ice cream. Reasonably priced considering the venue. Lots of seating indoor and out. Very clean. Lots of friendly staff serving food and ensuring everywhere is clean and tidy.

Staff were well organised & friendly despite how busy it was (Saturday peak lunch rush) wait times were fairly short (10 mins) prices are a bit steep for the food portion and quality, coke postmix had gone but I didn't care enough to get it changed

Very busy when we visited on the 22nd February. We were lucky to get a table as it was packed. The tables were dirty and still full of the previous customers plates. A young girl came over and cleaned the table and took the dirty dishes away. Our biggest disappointment was the chicken burgers and chips. There was no tastes to the chicken. Chips were anaemic. We also had a portion of onion rings and 2 cokes the cost just under £30. Coffee was £3:60 and cold.

Food was tasty, staff worked well together except they lost my order, tables were full of trash, I sat outside instead.

I used a cafe in June's Food Court on Saturday. There were about 15 people in line, but I had to wait for almost 30 minutes to order. The taste of cappuccino and chocolate cake was average.

Had fresh made pizza. Delicious.

After a 45 minute wait to get service. The food was OK. We had 3 kiids meals and 2 pizzas with my members reduction it still cost £47 so be prepared to spend a lot of money or take a packed lunch

Purchased a burger/chips and chicken burger/chips. Tasted really good and got plenty of chips. Cost about £17 with drinks. Portion size and taste no complaints!

Needs more staff, some of the young staff working was overwhelmed with the amount of customers and struggled. Food was nice but all in all took over a hour from queuing to eating

Chicken burgers only covered half the bun, dirty tables, ran out of beef burgers. On the plus side the chicken burger relish is fantastic

Pizza was really undercooked could still see each individual price if cheese and was cold, also the server at the till wasn't there for like 25 mins.

Good yorkshire puddings and donuts but we really missed the pulled pork baps. Can we have them back next year please. And can we have the naughty penguins back as well. TU

In the past it's been excellent. The last visit though wasn't great. Service was slow and food was undercooked. Maybe it was just an off day when we visited. Prices have gone up but no different to everywhere else.

Nice food, child friendly, can get really busy, food moderately priced

I tried the margarita pizza with orange Fanta on the 12/11/2022 it was the best cheese pizza I've tried not greasy plus the dough is hand stretched and also oven baked .The price for the pizza and orange Fanta was reasonable it was £13.60 10/10. The dough was not to chewy and you can taste the cheese and tomato pizza sauce clearly and none of the toppings overpower each other and I recommend eating the pizza when you visit Chester also the pizza is filling to.

Food not that great and expensive for what it is

I would not normally eat the kind of food they sell here, but it's the only gluten free food in the zoo, so I have to if I haven't bought a packed lunch. The food is OK, it is very noisy in the building and there are often long queues.

A hood selection of eateries but the ques are insane ... with only one person making the coffee / food it just seems that a few more hands on deck at peak lunch time would be better... with so much to see you don't want to be stuck in a food que for an hour!

Excellent choice of food. The pizza is great. Not too expensive considering location and quality (especially with member discount). Prefer to eat outside as inside has a noisy canteen atmosphere, and it gets very busy so takes a while queuing up- but it's worth it for fresh food cooked in front of you!

Nice place, but pricey and long waits.

We had fish and chips, and burger and chips they were both appalling. We also tried coffee and cake (the cake was stale) we're members of the zoo but we won't be eating there again.

It's a restaurant in a zoo so it's functional. Food was ok but of course, expensive for what it is.

Normally not very judgemental, but this time even my nearly 2 year old daughter told that chips were “no good” , paid 17£ for 2 small portions of what felt like yesterday’s recooked chips and sausage barely had any taste, even cheapest frozen tescos sausage taste better cooked properly, they clearly don’t care about food quality they serve as some chips were cold soggy or another ones were so over cooked that I ended up using one as toothpick. Management need to do something about it, customer pays for ticket and then 10£ for portion of chips but at least we can get something half decent but this disappointment. Avoid
