If I could give a zero review I would, took 7 calls for someone to answer, this isn’t because they were busy but because the bloke didn’t want to take the order, when we finally got through ordered, was told it would be 20 mins, 45 mins later and a call to them, was informed my order had gone from Moulton Chapel to Holbeach to Weston I live in Moulton Chapel guess my meal will be cold IF it ever arrives, told them to cancel order she does not have drivers phone number REALLY so over an hour and still waiting for a cold takeaway, told them to cancel our order, which they agreed to do, but how they don’t have the drivers number, would not recommend delivery from this take away

Soulless place, bare tables, not even a false flower. Nothing remotely Asian about the place. Ordered the mixed starter for 2 people which was absolutely dire. The satay chicken skewers had no taste and no sauce on them, the ribs were dry and the seaweed just tasted of fish. It looked as if it had just come from Icelands and been reheated, mind you, to be fair, Icelands is probably better. The poor waitress had to relay my comments to the chef who didn’t have the good grace to come and speak to me afterwards. The plates for the main course were the size of tea plates and were stone cold when they were brought out but the food for the main was absolutely delicious. This was a redeeming feature which went a long way to make up for the disappointing starter and also the portion sizes were very generous. There were no food warmers to keep the food at a reasonable temperature and I had to ask for a serving spoon. Drinks were very fairly priced. I don’t think I would go back there but if ever I did, it would only be for the main course.

The food here is absolutely amazing. Portion sizes are huge! We've ate both in the restaurant and had takeaway. The restaurant itself is very basic aesthetically, you feel as if your in a cafe, unsure if this is something that will be addressed in future as i feel the restaurant lets the place down really. The bar staff are friendly and bubbly girls. It's well worth trying their food, you won't be dissapointed. Their salt & pepper chips are lush!

After seeing glowing reviews we decided to pay a visit on Friday lunchtime. Checking the opening hours first being shown as 12-2 weekdays. When we arrived the lady behind the bar was saying farewell to a couple, the only customers in the pub. I said we (three of us) would like to eat, but was the informed they had stopped doing food as they were closing soon. I queried this as it was 1.15 and the Yell listing said 12-2, yes the lady said said but we stop food at 1. I understand not wanting to be open all day but 12-1 is a really restrictive window, to enforce on customers To turn away three potential customers, when the pub was empty is beyond belief in this day of village pubs closing through lack of trade. It was clear the staff were more interested in being out the door at 2. We did think the entrance was tired and grubby, the steps down into the bar had black/yellow tape to warn, which was ripped and poorly maintained. We will not return or recommend.

On arrival at our table while still standing with our coats on the staff then were there with our dinner. All looking very miserable and waiting for us to tell them where we were sitting at the table, No communication from the staff at all. Dinner was ok but the food wasn’t very warm. We weren’t asked all the time if everything was ok. As soon as we finished plates taken away by miserable staff. Went to bar to pay and still not asked if everything ok. The chef is always willing to go out of his way for a happy customer and this is shown with the popularity of the picturesque pub on the corner a few hundred years old.

My husband and I went here for Sunday lunch (roasts only on Sunday) We were served very quickly and the helpings were large, you won't leave hungry. I asked to see the main menu for future reference and it seems to have a fair selection including vegetarian. Prices were reasonable and the staff were chatty and pleasant. Would go again to sample the main menu. Just be aware that credit cards are not accepted, cash or cheque only.

I pre-booked a Birthday lunch for a party of 5 people, and we were cordially greeted. The members of my party thought that there was a good selection to chose from on the menu, however, I would say that the vegetarian choices are limited. I was offered an omelette, but settled for the broccoli and potato bake, as I didn't feel that an omelette or a jacket potato would feel very special. The food itself was delicious, and we were given a large tray of home made chips (always more pleasing than the frozen variety) and garden peas to share. Portions were a good size and none of us needed dessert. The service was friendly and helpful (I had to have my fork changed) but I would quite happily eat here again.

The food was freshly cooked and the portions were a good size. I would say it was the nicest food I have eaten out in a long time and look forward to going back for my birthday. The ship was recommended to us and I am happy to recommend to others. The staff were so nice too.

I include a picture to show the tiny portions they dish up. Fish and chips came with 21 chips (plenty of small ones in there too) and a tablespoon, at most, of mushy peas. The curry sauce (on the chips) was incredibly thick. I know they have a senior menu, where the portions are smaller, so I'd hate to think what you get on them. If I'm honest, I think they served a Senior meal, I cannot believe a 'normal' portion would be so small! That said , the bar person insisted, what I was served, is normal. If you want a decent (or even normal) portion of food, avoid the Pied Calf, we were not impressed.
