This is the absolutely best fish and chips shop that I have been to in the UK. The fish and the chips are always very fresh and they are generous portion sizes. I have friends who visit from Cornwall that always ask to go to Westbury Fish Bar when in Bristol and state it’s their favourite chippy. But the best thing is the service as it’s a lovely family run business.

Had the Sea Bass tonight.. absolutely beautiful.. batter light and crisp. Reminded me of Rock which I used to love in London but havent found it in 20 years I have been in Bristol. Will definitely be back for more. ** Food still as beautiful and consistent, but tonight we discovered the Irish Curry sauce.. oh my.. so much nicer than regular sauce..give it a try

Went in today got fish and chips and sausages,.The staff were very nice,everything very clean.Gave my niece some sweets,and a sausage to try.very kind.Everything was cooked as we waited to perfection,my husband enjoyed his haddock,which is not always available in some places.portions more than generous,with excellent value for money.Will be back again in future for more of the same.thank you very much

Just tried this place for the first time. Brilliant! The owners are soo friendly, they let us try ‘Irish curry sauce’ which was amazing. Definitely our new regular.

Great, freshly cooked food. We usually go once a week, to get a dinner mid week when we need a pick me up and can't be bothered to cook. Works every time. Delicious fish, perfect chips. We tried cod, haddock, hake and sea bass, all very good. Generous portions. Lovely owners, we always have a friendly chat with them and other customers when waiting for our food. Highly recommended, if you haven't tried, you're missing out.

By far the best fish and chip shop in Bristol! The fish portions are very generous and delicious and the chips are always tasty and well seasoned. I've tried many other fish and chips shops over the years and they never compare. They have a very loyal cuaotmer base. Visit the friendly team here, you won't be disappointed!

This is a great Fish & Chip shop. We Always buy their Cod and Chips it is the best around by far we also enjoy their Scampi You will not be disappointed.

I too remember when this was called Ken’s and it was always the best fish n chip takeaway around. If anything it’s now even better, lovely thick portion of cods with nice chips. Won’t go anywhere else.

This is a well established local chip shop. The standards are high and the food largely is freshly cooked. You cannot argue with the size of the portions either - one standard portion of chips will easily cater for two and sometimes even three! I have a choice of at least three chop shops in walking distance from my house, but I never go anywhere else but here

…and it’s superb, the portions are huge, we generally have one portion of chips between two of us, and it’s still more than ample. The fish is always large too. We have been coming here for over ten years since we first discovered how good it was, it’s about three miles from us and we have four or five chip shops closer to us, but while it’s under the current management we certainly will not be changing our allegencies.

Local chippie so a firm favourite in our household. The staff are friendly and their level of service is good. No hesitation in recommending them.

First time visit here to this takeaway as we were staying up the road in an air bnb for the weekend . Think these have to be the best fish and chips we’ve had in a long time and we are northerners and we know a good chippy when we see one ! The fish were huge and they were just the standard size ones ! The chips were really tasty and a great portion too We could easily have shared 1 portion of fish and chips between 2 Mushy peas were nice, often they can be hit and miss but these were spot on Highly recommend

My family and I have been getting fish and chips from this shop since 2001, and have never been disappointed! Genuinely the best fish and chips in Bristol, chips always fresh and hot, awesome fish, and brilliant options for those like myself who aren’t so keen on fish. The crowning jewel of this place though, is the staff. Welcoming, friendly people who take genuine pride in knowing all of the regulars, and having a conversation with everyone who walks through the door. They remember the little things, we’ve occasionally forgotten items when ordering and they’ve remembered our regular food and asked if we want the usual order - and we don’t go regularly! I could not recommend highly enough.

Love this place! We’ve recently moved to BS10 from BS7 and were missing decent fish and chips. We tried out Westbury fish bar this evening and it’s excellent. Fantastic fish and chips - good portions, not too oily, lightly crisp batter. Run by lovely people who gave my daughter her own mini portion - she was absolutely delighted! Thank you, will be back

You know when you think you've already had the best fish and chips, and then go somewhere else and have even better? Well, that's what happened on Wednesday evening. I stopped at Westbury Fish Bar to get cod and chips on the way back to the Air BnB accommodation I was staying. Such a friendly welcome, and when I opened up the paper I was welcomed with the sight of a wonderfully amazing and perfectly battered thick portion of cod, and a huge portion of perfect chips. It was so good and I'll be going back for more this coming week when back down in Westbury. Thank you!

This place i go to EVERY time for my fish and chips. Not over priced, chips cooked just right, fish cooked there and then & polite, friendly staff. Once a week visit for me would recommend !!!
