We had the seafood boil and it was absolutely lush!😍 so spoiled with how much seafood was in it! Very delicious and would come back here again to experience this! I highly recommend this restaurant for seafood. They do only the best! The service was spot on as well :)

Excellent dining experience, Maldon oysters followed by bass in Korean sauce served with sticky rice and a salad of grilled vegetables was delicious. Partner had oysters to start and lobster, also fabulous. Portuguese vinho verde wine, perfect. Waiter was efficient and personable.

This is the second time having a seafood boil (first time last summer) and I said they should add corn to it the first time, they have now. Absolutely delicious and worth your money because you cannot get a single seafood boil for less than £20. I’ve seen a few petty reviews from people who probably don’t even season their meat before cooking anything lol it definitely has flavour. My only critique would be the crab had no taste (needs more time in broth before adding to seafood boil dish). We were celebrating a birthday and Ivanna/Evanna made the experience so much better. 10/10 for her catering to our needs. I’ll definitely be back again this year lol

Absolutely stunning meal for our work celebration lunch. Stunning fresh seafood including perfect fresh oysters and lavish sharing platters with perfect tiny whitebait, freshly battered calamari and a beautiful locally sourced sirloin cooked to perfection. Also, gorgeous cocktails and excellent service. Can’t wait to come back!

What an experience. We had a super warm welcome when we arrived and were looked after perfectly. My husband really loved his birthday Prosecco so thank you for that extra touch. If you go, I implore you to have to the seafood boil. I’ve never had seafood like it, flavour was sublime and very well cooked. Also special mention to the anchovy butter 🤤. We had a birthday lunch here as my daughter wanted a seafood boil. It was incredible, so much in the share dish, they even added lobster on our request (for an additional charge) so accommodating. In fact all the food was tasty, well presented and plentiful. The staff we're so warm, welcoming and very knowledgeable. The added extras they did to make my daughters 18th extra special was amazing. I'd highly recommend and had an amazing time. Thank you to everyone.

Wife took me here for my 40th birthday. It was a fantastic meal, great service. Sea Food Boil is a must and the anchovy butter is out of this world.

To celebrate my friend's birthday we went to the Palomar restaurant and it was the best choice. Food, service and atmosphere all at a high level. Is the only restaurant in Bristol to have Seafood Boil on the menu. The portion is so big that we couldn't eat it all. The amount of seafood in this portion in relation to the price is huge. Very fresh oysters. Birthday glass of Prosecco for my friend was a nice addition from the restaurant. I highly recommend it and I will definitely come back there myself

Food took over an hour to arrive. Somehow the table that arrived later than us got their food first where we ordered the same item - seafood boil. The seafood boil finally arrived after waiting for an hour, and was crap. The seafood was bland, overcooked and not fresh, and for the brown crab you only get two claws in the boil. Also, none of the shrimps/prawns were deveined, which was disgusting. Definitely not worth the price and time, go somewhere else. Edit: The restaurant wasn't half full and we didn't have starters, neither did the other table, so no excuse. Need better management in the kitchen.

Brilliant food, the atmosphere was ecstatic, and the service was exceptional. Special mention to Ben the assistant manager, Anna for their customer service.Not forgetting Mitch and Head chef Ben in the kitchen, cooking up some really good food for me and my friends. Great portion sizes especially for the affordable prices. As I know I'm a chef myself and seafood is not cheap nowadays. Thanks again guys and I'm sure I'll become a regular at your fine establishment 🙂.

Had a wonderful Birthday dinner at Palomar, Bristol. The manager was sweet and took very good care of us. They even set up a Birthday table for us. Their seafood boil comes with a lot of variety of shell fish and their Cornish mussels are to die for! The oysters were also fresh and flavourful. They had a good wine selection and refreshing cocktails, especially their watermelon daiquiri and espresso martini. Definitely a must have experience!

The food was absolutely amazing. We went for a friend’s 21st bday and the service was splendid with great decorations and a complimentary drink and dessert. We ordered a surf and turf and some focaccia and everything tasted fantastic with just the right amount of flavour. More importantly, the quantity of the serving was certainly more than what we paid for! And easily the best surf and turf we have had in Bristol with the finest ingredients. I highly recommend this restaurant to anybody who loves seafood. It is a bargain for the high quality of service, ingredients and ambience.

Would not recommend. Before going to this restaurant I was so excited to try the seafood boil, I haven't been able to find a good place that does seafood boil in Bristol so I was delighted that Palomar does! Before going to the restaurant I read about a 1/3 of the reviews and looked through the entire menu online. I saw most of the complaints were about slow service or rude waiters but as someone who works in a restaurant myself. I thought most people were mostly being "karens" or slightly unreasonable. As a young person I thought I would give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt and just try it. Going to Palomar tonight we were greeted by Praveen at the door who was absolutely lovely. He walked us through the menu and was so warm and welcoming. When our drinks came a little late he was so apologetic, but we didn't mind as we are all hospitality workers and these things happen. The drinks we had were lovely so it was worth the wait! However, when we received our seafood boil it was almost tasteless. The flavour was not "creole inspired" at all. I asked for both salt and pepper to see if we could add something to the broth. Then ended up using 5 small pots of garlic butter to attempt to add flavour. As the restaurant was busy and they were clearly understaffed we didn't have much of an opportunity to talk to the staff about our boil. After we had added the garlic butter it did taste better so we were able to eat our meal. When we asked for the bill, I asked to speak to Raf who I assume was the manager to talk about the boil being almost tasteless and to ask if we could get the garlic butter taken off the bill (they were £2.50 each). I'd like to really emphasise I said this in a polite and calm manner and in no way did I say we would not pay for the seafood boil. I would have been happy to pay for the garlic butter if they weren't able to take it off. Instead of a reasonable reply, I was told "What's that got to do with me? You should have read the menu beforehand". The tone that Raf used to speak to me was so incredibly rude, if I ever spoke like that at my restaurant I would get a disciplinary. After this comment Raf went on to completely ignore me and went on to make jokes with my friend who I would like to point out is white (I am a Black woman). His comment took me aback and made me feel incredibly upset and disrespected. Again, I would have been happy to pay for the garlic butter but speaking to someone in that way in or out of a restaurant is uncalled for. I would honesty say if you want authentic seafood boil do not go to Palomar. And I sincerely hope no one has the same experience I did.

WITHOUT A SHADOW OF DOUBT THE WORST RESTAURANT IVE BEEN TO IN BRISTOL POSSIBLY IN THE WORLD! My wife and I decided to try palomar tonight , we live a few mins walk away and have never been. First impressions were ok but rapidly goes downhill from there. Bristol is quite lively on a Thursday night so walking into a empty restaurant at peak time should ring some alarm bells but we proceeded… the waiter came across as quite unfriendly and passive aggressive.. our drinks arrived and we had a pint of moretti and a pint of inches cider , both drinks tasted off and were flat. We then ordered starters of calamari and sweetcorn fritters , the batter was disgusting and tasted burnt and the seafood didn’t taste fresh at all. We didn’t eat it. The mains arrived which consisted of fish and chips and a their signature burger, again both meals we funny tasting (not fresh) and the batter on the fish was horrible and burnt. We think they were using old cooking oil that was way too hot. Again we hardly touched the meals. The chef didn’t seem to care much after we complained and we weren’t offered any discount off the bill. I would say avoid this place at all costs. Very poor service and even worse food. If minus 5 stars was an option I’d give it. Terribly disappointed

Palomar ticks all the boxes for seafood lovers. The oysters, complete with a mouthful of watermelon, are so good we went back for more. A special mention for the prawns pil pil and the brown grab pasta - out of this world. Lovely staff and a relaxed atmosphere.

We attended tonight just me and my mum for her birthday treat. Contacted the restaurant and they reserved me a lobster, lady on the phone, so polite and friendly, I knew from then it was going to be a good experience. Arrived, greeted and seated promptly, manager very friendly. There was a happy birthday sign on the table ( lovely touch) then came a lovely birthday treat. (Thankyou, it meant alot ❤️) Great menu, lots of seafood/fish options with plenty of specials on offer also. We ordered a 10oz Sirlion and a whole Lobster. Sirloin cooked to perfection, nice hot crunchy fries. Lobster was fantastic, my mother thoroughly enjoyed, the potatoes and sugar snaps went well with the dish. The manager kindly dressed the claws as my mother was unable. A lot of small touches made this visit memorable. I never leave reviews but this place is cosy, and the food was to such a high standard. You don’t mind paying good prices for great food, and the service was right up there. Overall a fantastic experience and I will most definitely recommend and be back.

I really wanted to like Palomar. We'd heard great things about their food presentation and were looking forward to a nice night out. But honestly, our experience was pretty alarming, especially for anyone with celiac disease or severe allergies. When we made the reservation, they assured us they could handle gluten-free needs. But as soon as we sat down, things got weird. Our waiter asked who needed gluten-free options, then followed up with "How gluten-free are you?" Red flag right there. We explained about celiac disease, hoping that would clear things up. Instead, he actually asked, "How celiac are you?" I was stunned. It's not exactly a spectrum. The real kicker came when the waiter told us about cross-contamination. He said not to worry because he had first aid training. I'm not sure what he thought he could do with that if someone had a serious reaction, but it didn't inspire confidence. At that point, we decided it wasn't worth the risk and left without ordering. It's a shame, because the food did look great. But the staff member's apparent lack of understanding about serious dietary restrictions was just too concerning. If you don't have any food allergies or celiac disease, you'd probably have a great meal here. But for those of us who do, I'd steer clear until they get some proper training for their staff. It's not just about the food tasting good - it's about safety.

Great to be back here again when it's busy with a buzzing atmosphere. Was expecting a bit more flavour wise from the seafood broil but it was still quite a fun experience. Chocolate desert was a good choice

The food wasn’t the best but I think that was purely the choice. The fish and lobster near us looked amazing but I chose the jambalaya which was pretty poor…, one prawn and very chewy calamari overloaded with clam.. was more like a paella than a jambalaya. Pretty expensive for what it ended up being. That being said I would go back again to try the fish. Service was great and waiter lovely.

Remember to book the table for dinner, otherwise walk-in is impossible. The seafood platter is outstanding! Seafood is fresh and deliciously made! Environment is good, location is good, staff is nice and friendly.

Went in at around 7.30pm last night to order £200 worth of foods for 6 people. The kitchen took ages to prepare the foods. When someone else next table came in after us but got their oysters served (we made the order before them obviously), i gently asked the waiter how long our oysters would be ready, he aggressively responded "please don't rush him". Not to mention, he seems really uninterested in serving us. This is not the customer service I expected and this man clearly does not like his job. Or maybe because we are Asian and he seems racist towards us. Also, the oysters were not fresh at all as you can see in the picture. We all got a terrible diarrhea after got home. This restaurant is terrible in many ways.

First time me and my family visited there, best experience we say we had, we ordered lobster it was tender and succulent, visit was topped up by some top class service by Florence she was amazing and hospitable, will come back!

Food and atmosphere was 10/10. But the service was 20/10. We were greeted by a young gentleman who was very polite and our waitress for the was Florence. I think I can go back again and again just for her polite and friendly service. Although every staff that we came across very super nice ( even the gentleman who showed us how to use all those fancy tools for our lobster 🦞), Florence was really good specially with our Kid. Nothing was too much trouble for her. It was so refreshing to get such amazing service. Lovely atmosphere & food is very good. We have been twice now & the food each time has been really good. There were 10 of us & we all enjoyed our meals. I shared the surf & Turf with my husband. We had steak, prawns, Squid, mussels & whitebait & chips & there was more than enough for two people.

I am a fish lover , so we ordered the boil . The restaurant advertises his fresh daily delivery . I can tell that there was little fresh sea food apart from the mussels. It was very disappointing . The langoustines were limp and tasteless. The monk fish tails were nice ,the spider crabs leg was dried , the gambas were ok . Now the broth . The broth was completely wrong , not fish based , it was overpowered with spices like clove and cumin , and chili I presumed , some celery , and sausages ? with the collection of fish they advertised it would be more than easy to have fish stock . Conclusion . The day we went to the restaurant was not busy . we were a party of several. I noted that Fonzie a Few weeks ago made similar comments about the Famous boil. The restaurant relied that they would take note of comments for future reference ... may be they should .

Great meal out for a special occasion. Food Was excellent and service was excellent... Did have a lot of people coming and going and chatting very loudly with the staff ( seemed like off shift staff members just popping in) which did riun the atmosphere a little. But nothing to take away the brilliance of the food!

*Upfront Information* Service 15/10 Staff won't bother you with a fake "how is everything" like some places do, they will genuinely interact with you and you feel welcome right away. They are all clearly enjoying working with each other and hold a unique talent each such as cocktail creating or serving or cooking and it just makes you feel part of it. Atmosphere 9/10 Awesome to hear music from such a range, old green day, crowded house, the smiths and more, it definitely gave me a better cozy feeling than other restaurants I've been to recently that simply play theme music. The lighting and interior is great as you'll see. Food 10/10 Right well, here we go... Damn! We thought we'd get the surf and turf sharing meal. Seemed a little higher price but worked out cheaper per person than you'd usually pay for a meal... Then this huge platter came out cooked to, honestly, perfection. We somehow finished it all and the quality of ingredients was just spot on (far to good for what we paid!). Streak medium rare, perfect, calamari quality was fresh just as were the muscles, fish was crispy and delicious. I mean even the cheesecake was just perfect. I really can't boast this place enough. Price 10/10 Might seem a little high at first, but as soon as you taste a drink or meal, you realise you'd pay twice that and still be happy. They do these after 8 cocktails and it tastes just like the brand! Cannot wait to go back.

I have visited Palomar a few times and have always enjoyed the experience. The food is fresh and prepared superbly, whether you have seafood or another option they are all wonderful. The staff are very kind and quick to help if you ever need it. Highly recommend

Reviewing the second time my partner and I have been here in 8 weeks. This is the place for any kind of seafood in Bristol. Seriously. Delightful serving staff and an excellent wine selection.

The staff were friendly, the cocktails were great, and I really appreciated the variety of the menu. The atmosphere was nice for a nice Friday night dinner. I've already recommended to a few friends that they come here!

One of the worst restaurants we have had the misfortune to visit. The welcome and service was indifferent from the outset. The waiter was incomprehensible and quietly spoken. The service then crawled at a snail’s pace. Water was forgotten and had to be requested again. Two members of our party received their order and we were left high and dry with no food - which in hindsight would have been a blessing. For no apparent reason a plate of chips was dumped on us - an over order. The Seafood Platter was a greasy, bland mess, overlaid with an unpleasant old oil malaise. The whitebait was clearly only vaguely waved at the batter, the calamari was in a revoltingly soggy coating, the prawns and langoustines and scallops were horribly rubbery and utterly tasteless, save every type of fish tasted the same, the salmon was as dry as cream crackers - how on earth can you, as a fish restaurant, ruin salmon to such a woeful extent. The staff really had no interest in the diners. I felt sick for hours afterwards with a greasy mass turning my stomach. Overpriced, lacking atmosphere, shockingly awful food. The only saving grace was that it was warm - outside was freezing with torrential rain.

A great little restaurant, worth a visit, an interesting array of fresh fish and meat. Great Maldon oysters, bit small but good, fish broil was ok but pinchers for cracking shell fish small not easy to use. The desserts, lemon posset fantastic, bit confused with people serving, but worth a visit or two....add to your lists

Ten out of ten this little gem is one of if not the best in Bristol ! Fresh tasty and the staff where amazing don't miss this place

Beautiful ambient, very clean; comfortable seats and correct mis-en-place. The staff is professional and friendly, they pay good attention to their customers. Food - 10 out of 10: fresh products, tasty, well flavoured, cooked to perfection. We shared 2 platters and they were enough for the 4 of us. The only step back is the waiting time, which, to be honest, is long if you are hungry, but just right when you are the cook. Highly recommended!

Absolutely amazing seafood restaurant, we had the sea food boil, all I can say is wow, very tasty and very highly recommend
