West Wittering Beach Cafe in Chichester

At the beach on Friday last for a schools beach rugby tournament Freezing (it’s June?!) Had a few coffees in here Coffee good Service friendly and prompt Reasonably priced (parking for the beach not so much!)

Don’t expect good service here, stood at the till, staff ignored me. So left and went to the landing, better value, coffee and service.

This cafe looks amazing but its ambiance is let down by the the radio being on instead of lovely music or nothing at all. Anything would be better than a radio station with endless adverts blasting out far too loudly. Also such a shame the wood burner never seems to be on - even on wet grey days. Coffee is nice though. I haven’t eaten there so I can’t comment on the food. No loyalty cards & no dog biscuits which is a shame. Also no water bowls for the dogs.

Staff are very nice . Coffee is good and the food average but the whole restaurant smelt of wet dogs! Almost every table had at least one dog under it. Most were ok but some did not stop barking which is not acceptable . Will not go back.

It’s the only catering facility near the beach - between dunes and car park. They offer a variety of meals - including decent sized portions of fresh fish & chips (£1 more expensive than last year’s!), one of us had sausage & chips - which looked good too. A couple of us just had sandwiches like BLT which felt overpriced at £4.75 and were of very average quality as I was told. I also found £2.50 for a small 330ml can Fanta (or similar drinks) very expensive - despite being nice and cold. Bottom line is they know that visitors have no alternative - there are no pubs or shops in walking distance - and it feels a bit they take advantage of it.

Terrible jacket potato with cheap stringy cheese and beans. Beans and cheese all mixed together into a mess on plate. Sorry but not very impressed.

We ordered large chips and a chicken burger from the take away section. It was a given that the prices will be over inflated as there is no competition for miles around. But they could at least serve quality food. The chips were 'fries' not sure how long before serving they had been fried. They were kind of chewy! Same with the chicken burger cooked long before although the bun and lettuce were fresh the chicken was dry. I would be embarrassed to serve food of that quality at that price. To add the chips portion sizes should be renamed to very small medium as the large chips were certainly not that. If the price matched the quality and size then i would not have bothered to write this but the worst chips 'fries' for a long time!

If you are planning a visit to the beach, try to head out early, we arrived at 0830 and drove up to the toilets near the dog walking area. Lots of spaces at this time. By the time we left the beach was packed with lots of families and couples taking advantage of the sands and sea water which was very shallow for large amounts. We stopped at the beach cafe, 4 adults and two children. The cafe was packed due to a very hot day in the 20s. Staff were great, we paid and could understand service was a little slow as the place was packed with ques for orders. Our food arrived and i was really impressed with my falafel and homous sandwich. The kids had a adults fish and chips to share between them. I managed to try the chips and the peas which were very nice and crispy. the peas were made from fresh peas. All the food was very good quality and amounts. I hope the tips help you and say thank you from me if you pop into the cafe. Vincenzo vinnychoff

Meet with friends here as a central point for a dog walk and lunch. Very good value for money and plenty of choice on the menu! Friendly and professional staff also. Slight wait to be seated but not unexpected when arrived on lunch rush hour and it’s not a huge place! Some people did choose to sit outside as plenty of seats but also very cold! Food was hot, tasty and well presented! Finished of with coffee and cake where there was excellent selection! Needed a second walk to walk it all off!

We went to the takeaway counter for a coffee, a hot chocolate and some chips. The chips came in a couple of minutes. The drinks came 15 minutes later even though it was not busy. The two young lads working didn't seem to have any sense of customer service. The chips were good although would have been better if we could have enjoyed them hot with our drinks. The drinks were ok but nothing to remember.

Totally unplanned visit, arriving 10 mins before last orders for food. Menu was reasonably priced, food arrived quickly and the portions were great. Got just the right amount of attention from staff. Baffled at the negative reviews on here regarding prices and food quality - I guess there's no pleasing some people. Everything we ordered, including calamari which can go seriously wrong, was perfectly cooked. Our girls also rated the drinks highly. Will definitely visit again

After an amazing few hours exploring the beach we popped in for some food and it was all really good, very generous portions. Recommend the vegan club sandwich. The cafe is really cool, well decorated, bright and spacious, lots of plants, great location, the staff are lovely and friendly. Will definitely come back.

We came here for lunch after a long walk on the beach with our dog. Food was tasty and service was good. Dog treats and water bowls available too. Will definitely come back when we next visit

What a missed opportunity! This wonderful beach with a very well organised parking area and very friendly grounds staff who keep the whole place spotless has the worst most soulless cafe ever. I have. Been in train stations with more atmosphere. Menu lacklustre food from food operatives. Coffee worst ever. Seating outside bland. Inside awful awful. This could be a gold mine not an excuse for fried frozen muck and watery coffee. What a waste!

We came just for a cold drink after a long beach walk. Quick service, reasonable prices, plenty of outdoor seating, sheltered from the sea breezes by tall hedges but that does mean that you can't see the sea.

We had been walking around East Head by West Wittering beach .We were going to have a meal at East Wittering later but we decided to look at the cafe instead to save time going back and forth by bus.Were a bit disappointed that cafe would close about 3.30pm but we decided to eat about 3pm.We ordered fish and chips and were pleasantly surprised by the portions and the trimmings of coleslaw ,cucumber lettuce etc.The service was excellent .we were given table outside which suited us.It's nice to have a pleasant surprise when both food and service were good. It was a nice day but not huge crowds on the beach so we may have been lucky to have picked right day and time.

We had to wait a few minutes to be seated but it was very sunny (week day). The staff were friendly and were served after a little wait. Food was very good fresh and very hot served and a good portion. Although it was busy we had a really lovely meal and would definitely go back.

Nice place for a hot drink after a breezy cold walk along the beach. I’m guessing it will be packed come Summer but for us today it was easy to get served and menu looked good too.

Had to queue for more than 30 minutes (our fault for not booking) but once we were sat down service was relatively quick. Lots of dogs in the cafe which was great as they could retreat to the warm cafe after they played on the...

The place is lovely and well laid out but given I only wanted a drink to take out we didn’t sit in. However the price for a small bottle of coke was £2 ! Which is expensive, we had just arrived after a 4 mile...

Excellent range of gluten free and vegan choices of cakes should you require. Salted Caramel Brownie was delicious. Coffee was good. Staff super friendly with good service when we visited. Will definitely go back for coffee and cake again.

The staff were brilliant, very good service. The kitchen is a different story, the food was absolutely hideous. My breakfast was stone cold in places and 1000 degrees in others, my beans were clearly microwaved as they had all burst, my sausage was so rubbery...

We arrived at 11:05 on Tuesday 20th July.was greeted and shown to our table. Was told there were no outdoor tables. They were not particularly busy so when I went out side to make a phone call. Noticed 2 tables that had not been cleared....
