Flick was brilliant, really good service.

Unfortunately, 2 of our friends had hairs in their main course (1 fish and 1 pie). We were reimbursed for these 2 main course and given 2 free puddings. A real shame as the food was otherwise tasty. They did apologise but we were definitely put off as we are locals and would have loved to come back.

We found The Mill to be a fantastic and wonderful place to experience. A warm and cozy restaurant beautifully decorated and well lit. The bar staff and waitresses are friendly and attentively professional in their service, particularly Kelly who always greets us with a smile and makes us feel valued and welcome. We’ve been coming here twice a month over the past year or so and this is definitely our preferred go-to destination for a scrumptious and delicious meal prepared by their unseen but truly incredible and talented chefs. We were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff at this very nice Pub. The service was very good as was the ambience. The food was delicious and arrived promptly. There is a good selection of beers and wine. Get a Butcombe loyalty card and you get a 25% discount off food most Wednesdays. They also have a large carpark. We had a very enjoyable lunch.

Booked for Sunday Lunch as my parents were visiting from Devon. We have eaten here a few times before and found the food very good. The welcome from the staff was warm and friendly but what a disappointment the food was really not good value. We had beef and chicken roast, the meat and roast potatoes tasted like they had been cooked the day before, we didn’t stay for dessert🙁

The ambience was really nice. However, there were flies which we didn't enjoy. Good parking place.

Pub had an expensive refit and expansion under new owners and reopened in Nov 2015. It now has a good size restaurant and small pub to the front as well as a large beer garden with plenty of parking. We had 2 very nice meal there in Dec '15 and now highly recommend it.

Always a very friendly atmosphere with very good service. The quality of the food is excellent but can be quite expensive, sometimes. Not always reflected in the type of menu offered.

Fantastic meal, the fish stew was delicious, as was the roasted squash. The caramel croissant was superb and the staff who served us, Josh and Felicity were very attentive and lovely and chatty. Would definitely recommend and will be back soon 😊

Had a Sunday lunch recently. Although the food was nice it was almost cold. Could see our food but it was 5 minutes before it was served to us. Such a shame as would have been a perfect roast of it was hot

As a new resident of Haslemere, we absolutely love the atmosphere at The Mill. The staff are always really welcoming and I love the cosy area at the back of the pub. We absolutely loved our Sunday Roast we treated ourselves to this weekend. The beef was well cooked and the cauliflower cheese we added was exceptional! Our hostess, Jess, was extremely attentive and made our dining experience extra special. A great way of finishing a busy weekend!

A friendly welcome and service. Freshly cooked food. Great variety on the menu. Great smelling toilets. Lots of parking. What more do you want?

Seemed a little bit unorganised. My daughter had to wait ten mins after our food had arrived as they got her meal wrong and didn’t give us the drink included in the children’s meal. Also upset that the service charge had automatically been applied as I would not have tipped.

The service was brilliant, nothing was too much trouble for the staff and they were very attentive. Despite being on the pricier side, the food was very tasty.

Top notch. Requested a quieter area as all guests (6) over 70 years. Seated in a perfect place in the lower bar. First time for Sunday roast which all guests had (either beef or pork). Universally agreed meal was first class and well presented. Attentive and efficient waiter/waitress service. Would definitely recommend and return.

Visiting Haslemere we decided to leave the confines of the hotel, and eat at The Mill. Arrived about 7:00 on a Friday evening with friends. The car park was quite full, and on entry The Mill was quite busy with a nice lively atmosphere. Bar staff were very welcoming despite being busy, and there was a good selection of Butcombe brewery beers which were well kept and very tasty. The menu was interesting with some traditional but also some interesting, tempting options. The service staff were very friendly, and efficient, and the meal was very good. The atmosphere was great - buzzy but not overbearing. It appeared that a guest speaker was also giving a presentation in a separate room visible through the dining room windows, which added intrigue and further atmosphere to the evening. All in all an excellent evening, and if I was in the area again I would definitely visit. How a pub should be.

First time we have visited The Mill and what a great find it was. Food was fantastic and the staff were brilliant and very friendly. We had a lovely table for 4 adults and 1 child , my little boy loved the food and I must say I think it’s one of the best children’s menus I have ever seen. Can’t wait to come back again. Thank you.

We are always on look out for decent pubs and randomly came across The Mill Haslemere. We're greated by a really nice barman who took our orders and gave us all the information we needed! Even said he find us a table on a busy Sunday afternoon. We decided on the outside area in the end. Food was great, quick friendly service and even used the app to order more drinks! All in all a really good experience and will definitely return.

Very poor I am sad to say my daughters steak was raw and had to go back all.our steaks were tough ... peppercorn sauce did not taste of anything ... sorry but we cant recommend The Mill ..

this was the first time i have been to this place and i have to say it was amazing, the atmosphere of the pub was pure happiness, the staff were friendly and inviting and nothing seemed to much for them, when it came to the food i have to say it was perfect in everyway possible, i had the pork chop with hash browns and it was amazing, the cider and honey glaze was delicious, my partner has the fish and chips and what a portion is was, everything was cooked to perfection and we didn't have to wait very long from ordering to receiving the meal, then the pudding made the meal complete, 10 out of 10 for everything, i also have to mention that i am in a wheelchair and it was so easy for me to get into the pub and to the table, the area is well spaced out for wheelchair user to be able to get around which in some place is difficult to do in a wheelchair, this was the perfect night out and the perfect meal, and very reasonably priced, thankyou for the great service to everyone at The Mill, Haslemere

We recently met friends here. A really great venue. Parking was a challenge and some waiting to be served. Will be back.

I've been going to The Mill for years but the prices are getting ridiculous - it is now over £18 for two pints of beer and a glass of coke. Going out for a drink with your mates is simply becoming un-affordable.

First Family Meal here, staff friendly and welcoming, Roast Dinner was lovely, The Rhubarb Blonde Desert was absolutely delicious, definatley recommend.

Very poor Mezze and slow and very poor service. Second expresso came with two cups left on the table, asked for old cups to be removed and had to use stained old saucers, coffee not even put on them. Never known anything like this in 60 years. Ambiance is good even better without the music. Don't bother.

Chose the venue as a midway point to meet with friends. Handsome building, large parking lot, pretty interior, well cared for and clean. Large outdoor covered space plus garden. Had the burger which was good but not THAT great for the price. Ordered the Specials dessert, told it wasn’t available, asked to check with the chef, and it was available after all. Service otherwise good. At price per head, was OK but wouldn’t seek it out.

This review is for one particular member of staff on my visit on Tuesday. I think her name began with a K maybe. She was very kind to my friend who had met me straight from a late evening finish at work. A very thoughtful, considerate, kind and professional person. Many thanks, it is appreciated.

Stopped here for lunch while solo touring the area and it was very good. Nice outside seating area, good food and service. I particularly enjoyed their no alcohol IPA, especially since I was driving.

Food was good standard pub grub. All nicely prepared and presented. Service was slow - seemed to be 4 people running a busy bar as well as serving 50 or 60 customers. They all worked really hard - just weren't enough serving staff. No ordering at the table - had to go to the bar to order. The food was served nicely at the table. We ordered 2 starters and 2 main course - they all arrived at the same time. Ordered a refill of drinks while we were eating - the bar staff were preparing it as we were paying the bill and leaving. This is a nice pub with seating for (I guess) 150-200 diners. They shouldn't take bookings beyond the capability of the serving staff they have on duty.

A very beautiful pub with great food and drink options

We chose the Mill for our intimate wedding dinner last weekend and we are so pleased we did! The room looked so beautiful, nothing was too much trouble and the food was delicious! The staff were friendly and welcoming and the overall atmosphere was perfect just what we wanted! We will definitely be back to celebrate with them again!

Poorly organized, long waiting time, food below average. The burger was burnt black, the steak was not as ordered but much too well done and completely forgettable. We ordered online in Garten to make it quick and easy and had to wait 30 minutes for the drinks. Absolutely not recommended! The manager contacted me and a refund was issued. Very correct.

Brilliant service, great food and lovely atmosphere!

Didn't get a chance to order, stood at the bar for 10min without being helped, no barman in sight. Staff that was there didn't seem to bother. Hope the customers that didn't walk out with me eventually got served. Place looks great though and the outside setting looks lovely. EDIT: The restaurant manager reached out and I gave a little more detail about my experience, hopefully this allows for some constructive team talks. I have since been back for a beer and dinner, had a fantastic experience and great service. Very helpful and friendly staff, the beer was cold and the food was great. The Irish Coffee at the end was also one of the better I've had over the last while. Will be back for sure, 🍻

I took my Wife her Sister and her husband from Zimbabwe to a late lunch, hence it wasn't quite as atmospheric as it normally is. The service was very good and the food very palatable, but being a late lunch not all the dishes were avaable, so I do not wish to critisise either the food or the atmosphere. My family thoroughly.enjoyed their meal.

Absolutely love the Mill, Butcombe brewery has made a lovely local pub into one of the best pubs in this area. Food consistently great, very friendly and professional bar staff. The icing on the cake is the events they are hosting, such as the comedy nights. A huge thank you from a loyal local regular!

Wonderful pub in a fairly large garden, with a nice covered area. The inside is very cosy, with different rooms, to suit your mood. The food was superb with exquisite desserts. The staff extremely kind and helpful. I can only recommend this pub very warmly.

Was looking for playground as it says exist in the website but no where to be seen when we got there. People need to update their website. Easy parking. Fence and gate all around preventing dogs and kids escaping.

We have always enjoyed Butcombe pubs so wanted to try this one - we were not disappointed. A nice, friendly welcome in a lovely bar/restaurant. Our waitress Kelly was great, chatty, informative and attentive. We can thoroughly recommend the burgers, which were served quickly, and although not overly busy the day we visited, the pub still felt buzzy and the staff were continually on the go, not just standing around. The pub itself is beautifully appointed, well spaced tables and good music. Thanks very much for a fab lunch.

Update: I visited last night and I'm glad to say the garlic nuts aren't stale but absolutely delicious and I'd highly recommend them. The team were super friendly and professional. The atmosphere last night was really good and we will be going here from now on. Lovely place for a drink. There are loads of little nooks to sit in. Our friends bought some of the nuts from the jar. A very small portion (shot glass) of nuts cost £4.50 and they were stale!

Six of us went for an early evening dinner, 7pm....had to wait approx half hour for a drinks order to be taken and when they arrived one was missing!! Food order got taken fairly quickly but nothing was written down and when it arrived...obviously it was wrong, missing a steak! So one of our party had to sit and watch us eat whilst his was then cooked. No offer of a complimentary drink or anything to ease the frustration! The food was poor, mushy fish, cold chips and dried up mushy peas, I've had better and cheaper fish and chips. We were asked if we wanted dessert, we declined and were then literally ignored regardless of if we wanted drinks/coffees. I had to go and find someone for the bill and unless I mentioned the problems no-one would have cared. The bill was reduced by £20 but our night was ruined by then. The staff are completely lacking in any customer service skills. I would avoid!!

This pub has seen some good times and some really bad times but I'm happy to say it's riding the crest of a wave at the moment - it's amazing what they've done to it. I remember going in '96/97 for a few 18th birthdays and they had nothing on tap and barely enough bottles to get through the night. Incredible job they've done.

It's a lovely pub and the food was first class and delicious. I he only criticism I have is that The Snug' where we ate was a bit cold so I ate with my coat on.

Food is OK. I had a burger which was nice, but chips were cold and overcooked. Bottle of prosecco was £32! Bit of a ripoff. Atmosphere is nice and pleasant, but you pay for it in the cost of drinks.

Whilst Dirk & Miles & the rest of the staff were very helpful we did not get some starters (not charged for) and 2 x Sticky Toffee puddings did not arrive either ?? Clearing up was very slow.

We attended on Saturday for lunch. I had the shwarma flatbread which was fairly small but I ordered a side of fries and it was a great portion for me. The flatbread was a little disappointing. The bread had been overcooked and the bread was hard. The topping was nice but could have gone with more punchy flavours and more chicken. The staff were attentive and efficient. The biscoff donuts were a lovely treat! The garden was idyllic with lots of space. If I lived more locally I could see myself visiting frequently.

The food was ok, the quantity wasn’t great. You should eat a burger and chips and not be hungry. Not the case here. I don’t think it was worth the money. Good atmosphere tho, nice outside aérea for summer and toilets very clean!

Eaten here a few times, waiting staff have been excellent every visit, notably Alex who went out of her way to make our evening special. Highly recommend the curried chicken kiev and the venison steak. Have also been in for drinks with my children who were made to feel very welcome by the bar staff

Really expensive, £12 for a fish finger bap, not even fish fingers, just 3 scraps coated in batter, an extra £4 for a few chips in a tin. I won't be rushing back.

We enjoyed a superb family meal here with great food and exemplary service. The restaurant has a cozy area off to the right that is great for families or if you have a pet. The sirloin steak was one of the best prepared cuts I have enjoyed in a long while.

EDIT: After some persuasion I begrudgingly agreed to go back and try The Mill, Haslemere again for dinner on 23/02/24 and I am very glad I did! I feel that we got to experience the difference between a mass produced menu decided up the chain vs the true menu that the kitchen is proud to create and serve themselves. Night and day is not enough of a change comparison to do this justice. Between the four of us eating, we had 3 starters, 4 mains and 3 desserts all different choices with the exception of two of the deserts being the same (who could resist Biscoff doughnuts when offered?!). All the dishes we were served not only tasted wonderful, but also looked lovely, The care and detail put into each plate was obvious. Although the staff were aware that we had not had the best of first experiences, it was clear that this was not just a case of trying to keep us happy as every plate that we saw served that night around the restaurant looked just as delicious, well cooked and presented. As the previous time, the serving staff were wonderful throughout the evening and the kitchen staff really do deserve praise for the lovely meals and evening that we had at The Mill, Haslemere. Already thinking of returning again soon, with our first visit fading as just a memory. Second chances do matter. Thank you to the Kitchen and serving staff! ----- ORIGINAL: We had Christmas dinner here today and unfortunately I wish we hadn't. Upon booking, we specifically requested a quieter area as one of our company required a bit more breathing room, we were assured that we would be accommodated, but we were placed right next to the overcrowded bar. Thankfully we were able to be moved. Food was served quickly, but was for a lack of a better word - disgusting. We expressed our disappointment, especially with the starters: Firstly my “patè” honestly looked like piles of bird faeces and tasted like cold, watery slurry. No bread (apart from a coin sized filigree) was served with it until we requested it. After a single taste I left my plate. The main: The beef was lovely tasting but was mostly fat sadly, the parsnip was almost raw and sadly I couldn’t get through the Yorkshire pud as it was rock solid. Strangely the whole meal was also tepid at best. The drinks were very slow, though the bar was very busy, we understand. However, the waitress noticed and had to check twice if our single drinks order had arrived yet and had to chase them up. We expressed our disappointment, but we were only told that the “chef would be informed”. Nothing else was offered or any attempt given to rectify. We did not kick up a fuss further purely because we did not want to spoil the day more. One positive point was the waitresses who served us were excellent otherwise. Lovely manner and attentive. Shame about the kitchen staff and whoever approved this menu. We would be very interested for the manager to respond to us with their view. We were not the only customers unimpressed as we witnessed the table next to us walking out with their mains virtually untouched. (They did not wish to stay for dessert by the looks of it).

We had a lovely time at the Mill. Our table was positioned suitably to cater for our dog and the staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was great and the atmosphere relaxed and welcoming. Would certainly recommend the Mill as a place to visit.

Went here for the first time about 6 weeks ago with a friend and absolutely loved eveything about the venue but especially the food! There was a nice atmosphere overall and I loved the fact that you can see the chefs cooking & preparing the food in the kitchen... I loved it so much that I took 3 other friends with me yesterday... everyone agreed that we will definitely go back again in the very near future.

The food was good but the service was bad wait for the meals too order took long after 2 hours dinner plates not cleared away l realized you were busy but that shouldn't have been like it
