Enjoyed a delicious lunch here with friends. Every member of staff was welcoming. Easy parking too. All in all a positive experience and we are all looking forward to a repeat visit. The mini Biscoff donuts are amazing!

We have been coming to The Mill for a few years now. Me and my family find it very good as there are many food options and also lots of variety for Allergys. My daughter has quite a few allergies and the kitchen go above and beyond to ensure her food is prepared safely . All of the staff interact with my children and make them feel so welcome and make sure we have everything we need . Big shout out to Jess who served me in my most recent visit her service is excellent with a smile. We will keep returning. Thank you for the consistent excellent experience 😀

I am coeliac and I came to the mill for lunch and they had plenty of gluten free choices which was amazing! Our server Jess was so friendly and Saffron at the bar was very helpful! We had a great lunch and will definitely come back! :)

Just a shoutout to the mill! I’ve been coming here for months for drinks and have recently started dining here also. I’ve Always had the best experience here! The staff are nothing but friendly and helpful. They have consistently gone an above and beyond for me and my family, I’ve even started to have a laugh with a few members of the team! The mill has an extremely warm atmosphere, lit fires and attentive bar staff is a welcome mix! Especially since they are dog friendly, with plenty of places for me to sit with my pup, they adore my dog Alfie here! it’s always a pleasure when I bring him in - so lovely to walk into a pub and feel welcomed. Alongside this, the food is always amazing!! They have a variety of options, vegetarian, gluten free and even vegan! Dining here is a wonderful experience and the food is beautifuly presented! I can’t say I have a bad word to say about this pub. I would highly recommend coming to The Mill!

Had a great time with my boyfriend, me and him had a lovely trio of meats served by Ellie who was great and attentive, had a chat with the manager Dirk who was very hospitable and kind can't recommend the pub more will be coming back

I took my mum out for lunch for her 80th birthday today and we chose the mill. What a fantastic place! The staff were amazing! Kelly, Sophie and saffron did everything to make the experience special for her they even gave her a special dessert and told her it was free for her birthday! The venue was beautiful and the food was amazing! They left my mum feeling very special so thank you so much to the hole team at the mill! Kind regards Craig wolfe

We very much enjoyed our meal. However I have not given quite full marks. Unfortunately, the pudding - Roasted Plums. unfortunately the plums were undercooked. The service was excellent, but we did have to wait a long time between our main course and pudding.

What a cracking real pub. Proper English beer with incredible winter food that demands a long walk beforehand to earn all that goodness. And don’t miss the Bloody Mary’s; they’re world class! Thank you for a wonderful lunch.

An honest and objective review of this place is needed. I saw from the reviews that quite a few people are saying that it is dog friendly, and on the surface of it it does appear it is. However if you are looking to have an evening meal with your dogs you will be put in the public bar which is not major problem. What is a problem, is the lack of flexibility in that space. We ended up being put next to the gents toilets and therefore suffered with traffic coming to and from those toilets literally all evening. The staff were quite attentive and we did ask to move. However, we were told there was nowhere else to be seated. The strange thing was that there was a whole snug with nobody in it right next to us. I think this pub is dog-friendly during the summer months when you can sit your dog outside or in designated areas. To be fair the food was quite good (although you have to question £24 for a bacon chop, egg and chips) our server at the end was very good and he made a fuss of the dogs and gave them biscuits. I would just recommend to avoid the public bar area in the evenings if you are bringing dogs. Either that or the pub should make some more flexible areas using the restaurant zone which wasn't oversubscribed and could have been used to flexibly to give people a restaurant experience if they bring their dogs.

We had a lovely Boxing Day and especially enjoyed the snug we were in and had to ourselves. Ellie was wonderful and a great waitress. I think though she handed over during our meal and we felt a bit left and not really served once she left. The food was delicious and we did have a lovely family time, so thank you.

THIS WAS A FAMILY GET-TOGETHER AFTER INTERNING OUR FATHER'S, AND GRANDFATHER'S ASHES IN A TREE PLANTING. WE ARRIVED TO AN OVERWHELMING STENCH THAT HAD BEEN COVERED UP WITH SOME SMELLY POP-PORI-TYPE SMELL. WE SAT AT INDIVIDUAL TABLES SO WE COULD NOT ALL SIT TOGETHER. THE FOOD WAS BUFFET STYLE AND PRESENTED ON OLD WOODEN CHOPPING BOARD WE HAD TWO CHOPPING BOARDS FOR 6 PEOPLE, WITH SAUSAGE ROLLS THAT LOOKED LIKE HALF A SAUSAGE ROLL LITRIALLY 2CM WIDE. LETTIS LEAVES ALL OVER THE BORDS WITH RANDOM OFFERINGS PLASSED ON TOP. SOME LEAVES HAD PRAWN COCKTAIL IN A SLOPPY SAUCE RUNNING OFF OVER OTHER THINGS ON THE BOARD. I'M SURE THE WI WOULD HAVE PUT ON A BETTER SPREAD. WE WERE TOLD THAT THIS WOULD WORK OUT AT £22 PER HEAD £132 FOR OUR TABLE ALONE. THAT MUST HAVE BEEN £110

Excellent Sunday roasts, lovely mackerel starter & good quality real ales and wines.

Unfortunately, the quality of the steak was very disappointing—rubbery and completely lacking in flavor, sides also lacked flavour. We ordered four steaks, and all were the same. I can’t comment on the quality of the drinks, as ordered cola only.

We went here for a social Christmas party, 17 of us dinner and as many later for drinks. We knew we would be at in the covered outside area. But wow was it cold the heaters barely worked for 50 seconds before switching off. Every one sat wrapped up as so cold. The food to be fair was ok, not brilliant for £42.00 set 3 course meal but it was hot as it arrived. Not for long though. The service was at best average, with food coming out for a while and then gravy when most people had started ther meals. My fish stew wasn’t stew but fish in chopped tomatoes you didn’t need the spoon that was presented. Christmas crackers were promised and we ask 3 times apparently they do them after the meal( thats a first on me) they never did arrive. With a bit of planning ahead the half filled restaurant could have seated us all. It’s such a shame that the best pub in Surrey award didn’t represent itself well, guess that’s why they charge £7.00 + for a Lager or Guinness. We are local and won’t be rushing back.

I came for lunch with my elderly parents and a friend. We had a very lovely meal at a good price and excellent service. There was a nice atmosphere - with the tables far enough apart so that you heard your own conversation and not other people’s. We never once felt we’re being rushed, but at the same time felt we were being looked after by the staff. We had a roast and in the past I’ve had fish and chips and the burger - The rest of the menu is a bit too ‘foodie’ (eg mulled-wine cranberry sauce rather than the traditional stuff!) for me … But what we had was delicious.

The pub was set up really nicely for Christmas. I had booked for a Christmas party and Ruben went above and beyond to help me with the pre-ordering and payments for 12 people. Food was nice (not blown away for the price) but the customer service made up for it 100%. Thanks Ruben for all your help!

The Mill Tavern is becoming a favourite spot for me and a great place to meet and catch up with family and friends - We had a lovely lunch and a fab afternoon - will definitely be there again soon, THANK YOU SO much 👍🎉

We've just celebrated our neighbourhood Christmas dinner and it was excellent. A friendly greeting from organiser, Jodie, and attractive table settings with crackers. Food was properly cooked, nicely presented and plentiful, with offers of extra gravy and sauces. It was both tasty and hot. Service from Issie was pleasant and very efficient, with expert billing at the till from Saffron. Altogether a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Thank you!

We were a party of 10 for Friday lunch. All over 70 and with a large wheelchair. Entry was easy and they looked after us very well. Very nice people and nice food. We will return.

Really lovely meal to celebrate an big birthday for my Mum. There were 15 of us. Staff very friendly and accommodating. We were supplied with extra Yorkshire pudding and potatoes to go with our meal. Pub busy with great atmosphere. A great place for Sunday Lunch

Food was good but not hot. My son had the pork and said there were lots of veg but not very generous with the meat. I had the beef, it was very tender, enough meat for me but I'm not a huge meat eater. Nice pub, friendly staff.

Went with my wife last night for a drink.Big group of younger people coked up in the garden area ,made for a really horrible atmosphere.Shame because it’s a really nice pub.

The decor, location and politeness of staff all good, as was the food. However we were surprised that at lunch time in half term, the place was practically empty...hence no atmosphere. Considering there was only one other table occupied in the restaurant the service, mainly of drinks, was SO SLOW! We waited ages for 4 drinks to arrive, despite being able to see the bar where it seemed nothing was happening. I would be concerned to see what would happen if the restaurant was full!!

Came for a food and drinking with other half the food and service was brilliant. Our waitress Izzy was very attentive and welcoming on top of the incredible food it made for an excellent evening. Can not recommend more highly.

The food is very good but it is quite expensive, especially when the automatically add a service charge on top of it. For that reason I won't go regularly but it's not to take away from it being good quality

Flick was brilliant, really good service.

Unfortunately, 2 of our friends had hairs in their main course (1 fish and 1 pie). We were reimbursed for these 2 main course and given 2 free puddings. A real shame as the food was otherwise tasty. They did apologise but we were definitely put off as we are locals and would have loved to come back.

We were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff at this very nice Pub. The service was very good as was the ambience. The food was delicious and arrived promptly. There is a good selection of beers and wine. Get a Butcombe loyalty card and you get a 25% discount off food most Wednesdays. They also have a large carpark. We had a very enjoyable lunch.

Booked for Sunday Lunch as my parents were visiting from Devon. We have eaten here a few times before and found the food very good. The welcome from the staff was warm and friendly but what a disappointment the food was really not good value. We had beef and chicken roast, the meat and roast potatoes tasted like they had been cooked the day before, we didn’t stay for dessert🙁

Pub had an expensive refit and expansion under new owners and reopened in Nov 2015. It now has a good size restaurant and small pub to the front as well as a large beer garden with plenty of parking. We had 2 very nice meal there in Dec '15 and now highly recommend it.

Always a very friendly atmosphere with very good service. The quality of the food is excellent but can be quite expensive, sometimes. Not always reflected in the type of menu offered.

Had a Sunday lunch recently. Although the food was nice it was almost cold. Could see our food but it was 5 minutes before it was served to us. Such a shame as would have been a perfect roast of it was hot

As a new resident of Haslemere, we absolutely love the atmosphere at The Mill. The staff are always really welcoming and I love the cosy area at the back of the pub. We absolutely loved our Sunday Roast we treated ourselves to this weekend. The beef was well cooked and the cauliflower cheese we added was exceptional! Our hostess, Jess, was extremely attentive and made our dining experience extra special. A great way of finishing a busy weekend!

The service was brilliant, nothing was too much trouble for the staff and they were very attentive. Despite being on the pricier side, the food was very tasty.

Seemed a little bit unorganised. My daughter had to wait ten mins after our food had arrived as they got her meal wrong and didn’t give us the drink included in the children’s meal. Also upset that the service charge had automatically been applied as I would not have tipped.

Top notch. Requested a quieter area as all guests (6) over 70 years. Seated in a perfect place in the lower bar. First time for Sunday roast which all guests had (either beef or pork). Visiting Haslemere we decided to leave the confines of the hotel, and eat at The Mill. Arrived about 7:00 on a Friday evening with friends. The car park was quite full, and on entry The Mill was quite busy with a nice lively atmosphere. Bar staff were very welcoming despite being busy, and there was a good selection of Butcombe brewery beers which were well kept and very tasty. The menu was interesting with some traditional but also some interesting, tempting options. The service staff were very friendly, and efficient, and the meal was very good. The atmosphere was great - buzzy but not overbearing. It appeared that a guest speaker was also giving a presentation in a separate room visible through the dining room windows, which added intrigue and further atmosphere to the evening. All in all an excellent evening, and if I was in the area again I would definitely visit. How a pub should be.

First time we have visited The Mill and what a great find it was. Food was fantastic and the staff were brilliant and very friendly. We had a lovely table for 4 adults and 1 child , my little boy loved the food and I must say I think it’s one of the best children’s menus I have ever seen. Can’t wait to come back again. Thank you.

We are always on look out for decent pubs and randomly came across The Mill Haslemere. We're greated by a really nice barman who took our orders and gave us all the information we needed! Even said he find us a table on a busy Sunday afternoon. We decided on the outside area in the end. Food was great, quick friendly service and even used the app to order more drinks! All in all a really good experience and will definitely return.

Very poor I am sad to say my daughters steak was raw and had to go back all.our steaks were tough ... peppercorn sauce did not taste of anything ... sorry but we cant recommend The Mill ..

this was the first time i have been to this place and i have to say it was amazing, the atmosphere of the pub was pure happiness, the staff were friendly and inviting and nothing seemed to much for them, when it came to the food i have to say it was perfect in everyway possible, i had the pork chop with hash browns and it was amazing, the cider and honey glaze was delicious, my partner has the fish and chips and what a portion is was, everything was cooked to perfection and we didn't have to wait very long from ordering to receiving the meal, then the pudding made the meal complete, 10 out of 10 for everything, i also have to mention that i am in a wheelchair and it was so easy for me to get into the pub and to the table, the area is well spaced out for wheelchair user to be able to get around which in some place is difficult to do in a wheelchair, this was the perfect night out and the perfect meal, and very reasonably priced, thankyou for the great service to everyone at The Mill, Haslemere

We recently met friends here. A really great venue. Parking was a challenge and some waiting to be served. Will be back.

I've been going to The Mill for years but the prices are getting ridiculous - it is now over £18 for two pints of beer and a glass of coke. Going out for a drink with your mates is simply becoming un-affordable.

First Family Meal here, staff friendly and welcoming, Roast Dinner was lovely, The Rhubarb Blonde Desert was absolutely delicious, definatley recommend.

Very poor Mezze and slow and very poor service. Second expresso came with two cups left on the table, asked for old cups to be removed and had to use stained old saucers, coffee not even put on them. Never known anything like this in 60 years. Ambiance is good even better without the music. Don't bother.

Chose the venue as a midway point to meet with friends. Handsome building, large parking lot, pretty interior, well cared for and clean. Large outdoor covered space plus garden. Had the burger which was good but not THAT great for the price. Ordered the Specials dessert, told it wasn’t available, asked to check with the chef, and it was available after all. Service otherwise good. At price per head, was OK but wouldn’t seek it out.

This review is for one particular member of staff on my visit on Tuesday. I think her name began with a K maybe. She was very kind to my friend who had met me straight from a late evening finish at work. A very thoughtful, considerate, kind and professional person. Many thanks, it is appreciated.

Stopped here for lunch while solo touring the area and it was very good. Nice outside seating area, good food and service. I particularly enjoyed their no alcohol IPA, especially since I was driving.

Food was good standard pub grub. All nicely prepared and presented. Service was slow - seemed to be 4 people running a busy bar as well as serving 50 or 60 customers. They all worked really hard - just weren't enough serving staff. No ordering at the table - had to go to the bar to order. The food was served nicely at the table. We ordered 2 starters and 2 main course - they all arrived at the same time. Ordered a refill of drinks while we were eating - the bar staff were preparing it as we were paying the bill and leaving. This is a nice pub with seating for (I guess) 150-200 diners. They shouldn't take bookings beyond the capability of the serving staff they have on duty.

We chose the Mill for our intimate wedding dinner last weekend and we are so pleased we did! The room looked so beautiful, nothing was too much trouble and the food was delicious! The staff were friendly and welcoming and the overall atmosphere was perfect just what we wanted! We will definitely be back to celebrate with them again!

Poorly organized, long waiting time, food below average. The burger was burnt black, the steak was not as ordered but much too well done and completely forgettable. We ordered online in Garten to make it quick and easy and had to wait 30 minutes for the drinks. Absolutely not recommended! The manager contacted me and a refund was issued. Very correct.

Brilliant service, great food and lovely atmosphere!

Didn't get a chance to order, stood at the bar for 10min without being helped, no barman in sight. Staff that was there didn't seem to bother. Hope the customers that didn't walk out with me eventually got served. Place looks great though and the outside setting looks lovely. EDIT: The restaurant manager reached out and I gave a little more detail about my experience, hopefully this allows for some constructive team talks. I have since been back for a beer and dinner, had a fantastic experience and great service. Very helpful and friendly staff, the beer was cold and the food was great. The Irish Coffee at the end was also one of the better I've had over the last while. Will be back for sure, 🍻

I took my Wife her Sister and her husband from Zimbabwe to a late lunch, hence it wasn't quite as atmospheric as it normally is. The service was very good and the food very palatable, but being a late lunch not all the dishes were avaable, so I do not wish to critisise either the food or the atmosphere. My family thoroughly.enjoyed their meal.
