Wells Deli in North Norfolk

My husband and I went to Wells Deli for breakfast and it was absolutely delicious! Super fresh and full of flavour! Staff really friendly and welcoming and love the fact it’s dog friendly too😊

Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, the breakfast was very tasty and fresh. This is definitely somewhere we will come back too.

It's a small place but it has nice feel. The staff were friendly. Love that we could take our Dog with us. Both of us had Avocado Toast with extra Salmon, Very nice. Why only three stars? We sat at a window table and I was put of by 1) cobwebs on the Plants 2) Dead Bugs all over the Window sill.

Crab sandwich … where was the crab? A pitiful amount of crab in a copious mayonnaise and few salad leaves! If you like crab, don’t bother ordering here! I’d rate this zero out if 10!

Amazing as always, great selection for breakfast from healthy to naughty foods to eat, amazing service the staff are very friendly and helpful. Still, my family go to for breakfast most days when we are in wells.

Sorry for a poor review but after deciding against usual seaside chips for lunch, we tried this deli instead. Just under £19!! for a cheese and tomato sandwich, a toasted sandwich and a can of drink. It was nothing special. Originally asked for a cheese and onion toastie, but didn’t have any onion. I then asked for a cheese and tomato toastie, but they could only do this if they took some ham out of another sandwich - didn’t understand this as I could have an untoasted cheese and tomato sandwich! Must have been 6/7 staff bumbling around behind the counter and it took nearly 20 mins before we got our food, and that was only because we followed it up. A couple in front of us had been waiting a while for two sausage rolls to be heated up. There were only three tables being used inside and they had all been served. There was no friendliness, no service with a smile and very expensive for what we had. In hindsight, should have just said, ‘no thanks, not at that price!’ Will be chips next time.

Small, cramped little place and not very clean. We had coffee and a tomato and mozzarella toastie which was ok albeit expensive, it came with a handful of crisps . The coffee was delicious. We sat on torn chairs with the stuffing exposed by a window overlooking the front but the view was spoilt by dirty windows and plants that looked as if they hadn’t been tended for weeks on a very dirty window sill . Toilets in need of a freshen up .

We have greatly enjoyed the food here in the past but, as I have recently been diagnosed as coeliac, it was the good selection of Gluten Free options marked on the menu which attracted us particularly on this occasion. I ordered an open sandwich – one of the items where a gluten free version was shown as available – and clearly stated that I needed the GF one. When it came I was extremely impressed by the quality of the toasted bread – indistinguishable from regular sourdough. So, when we were leaving I asked them whether they had made it or bought it in, as it was the best GF bread I had tried. Unfortunately this was when I learned that the sourdough hadn’t been gluten free at all! They had forgotten to note the GF requirement on the order!! They did apologise profusely and refunded my payment, but that is hardly the point. At the time of writing this review I have been ill for two days and counting! Fellow coeliacs need either to avoid this venue or be very, very careful.

Whilst visiting the coast came here for brunch which had lovely selection and reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and courteous. Food lovely and very filling Will visit again

Went in to have a cuppa after a long walk. Price of pot of tea for 2 £5.40. When arrived the cups were small as too the teapot one small cuppa £2.70

One of most favourite places in Wells. Went last Friday afternoon while we were in the area. So busy, we were lucky to get a table. Service and nachos were fantastic.

The Brazilian Acai bowl was the best breakfast I’ve had for years. The coffee is lovely. The service is amazing. The bread roll with a spot of mould was an unwanted surprise dealt with swiftly & professionally - I’m going back tomorrow!

We specifically visited here as my teenage daughter wanted to try their frozen yoghurt. Initially we were told by the chap serving that the machine was broken but then the lady behind the counter said it wasn’t. We ordered the vanilla frozen yoghurt. When it arrived it was a half full, small tub of slush. My daughter took a mouthful, said it was disgusting and threw it in the bin. In hindsight I should have complained as at £4.50 this was a total rip off and not what we should have been served. It wasn’t frozen, had none of the advertised toppings and was a tiny portion. Disappointing that they did this when they obviously knew it was wrong! Would definitely never return here.

Our favourite cafe type place in Wells! When it first appeared on the scene, many years ago, it was one of the first signs of the gentrification of our beloved family holiday destination and we resisted the pull of a decent coffee for a good year or two. Fast forward several years and we narrowly avoid going there every single day of our holiday because it's so damn good! It just has everything you (and hungry teenagers) could possibly want: excellent coffee, generously filled toasties with delicious things oozing out, decadent cakes, interesting other bits like samosas and folded pizzas, extremely lovely milkshakes...and most importantly for us with a family member with coeliac disease, the gluten free options are excellent- GF sandwiches, noodle bowls (new this year?), (amazing) nachos, and many cakes! It is run really professionally and they take the gf (and I presume any allergies/intolerances) very seriously. Really friendly too. And if it's busy, they seem to get you seated pretty quickly if you don't mind waiting outside for a little while. A perfect cafe that does what it does unbelievably well! Love it!

It was a busy August Saturday and had to wait a short while for a table. That said the staff were friendly and attentive at all times considering how busy they were. There were families as well as other couples eating in. We ordered a tuna melt and a crab sandwich from the chiller in front of us, along with two decaf coffees. Biggest down side came at this point, they don’t accept cash! So some of their takings/ profit goes straight to the bank in charges and payment machines! We sat down and our food and coffees came in no time. Lovely tasting coffee for a decaf. My wife’s tuna melt looked delicious and I don’t even eat cheese! Mine was a little lack lustre. The crab was mixed with mayo and some lettuce on top. It was okay but after tasting my first crab sandwich in St Ives Cornwall this was definitely second place. The mayo drowned out /diluted the crab, the bread was a pre sliced loaf from a well known supermarket possibly. It just didn’t wow me. We followed this by another coffee and a slice of carrot cake to share. The cake was tasty but a little crumbly (sorry) Let me be clear the whole place is lovely and the staff do really well & it is very clean.

Wow, so good I felt the need to write my first tripadvsor review - lunch for 4 (2 adults and 2 children (7 and 8)). The view out the window is second to none. 3 toated ciabattas and 1 amazing avo on sour dough. The staff where super friendly, welcoming and patient while we decided what to have, the choise was tricky as everything looked so yummy. When we eat out we rate our food out of 10 and for the first time ever we have a full set of 10's. Great work, we will be back!

Stopped here while on holiday locally for take away drinks (coffee, ice tea and milkshakes) - all delicious. So much so we came back for lunch and weren’t disappointed. Lovely fresh food, friendly service.

We love Wells-Next-The-Sea and always visit for the day when in Norfolk. Our day always begins at Wells Deli. We (mum, 2 teens and a dog) arrived yesterday morning and ordered 2 coffees and a milkshake. As I went to pay, I asked if I could put my card into the machine rather than pay contactless as it had been playing up. This still didn't work, despite trying a few times. I got a bit flustered as I knew I was holding the queue up and said we would have to leave it, and I would try to find a cashpoint. The lovely member of staff said not to worry, they had made our drinks, have them and we would work something out. I was a bit bemused - we live in a large city where this would NEVER happen! We sat down by the window with our delicious drinks, and after a hit of caffeine I saw things a bit more clearly, transferred money to my son, and he went and paid! I wanted to leave a review because we genuinely love this place, and the selection of yummy goods and the amazing coffee they sell. Plus, being dog friendly is a big bonus for us! BUT the biggest reason was to say thank you for your kindness, calmness and understanding. You absolutely made the day of a very flustered and anxious single mum, so thank you! We will be back!

This deli / café is an ideal spot to watch the world go by if you get a seat by the window which myself and my family did for 3 consecutive morning for breakfast. Staff were really friendly and helpful, even giving us a menu to take away for our cottage. Food is very tasty. I had the granola parfait with Greek yogurt and summer berries which was nicely presented and my husband had the breakfast bun which he enjoyed. My daughter had the milkshake with pancakes with plenty of Nutella which she enjoyed. Its dog friendly too with little treats available. We return to this deli for breakfast every year we visit and will continue to do so.

I went in looking for a nice snack, and wow did this place deliver. The presentation of their food was excellent, and the taste even better! I ordered a chicken and chorizo toastie, and the service was quick and the staff were friendly. I had never been before, so had no idea what to expect. I was taken away by the portion sizes and how delicious it was too - very reasonably priced too. I would definitely recommend to anyone who is lloking for a filling and tasty treat!
