Glad to see the cafe back and apparently thriving again Their website doesn't tell you much eg breakfast serving times nor actual menus. Breakfast orders finish at 11.15 and lunch begins at 12 so there is a 45 minute "no man's land" where you have limited choices. The veggie breakfast is a bit odd. Didn't fancy the weird combination so opted for scrambled eggs on toast. Nice, but not piping hot My partners full English also could have been hotter and the hash browns weren't crispy. The cappuccinos were lovely though Dogs are permitted and the staff are lovely.

Slow service & cold plates...not surprising as chef moves at a glacial pace. First visit we ordered the All Day Vegan Breakfast...waited over 45 minutes for a cold plate of food. Tiny portion of scrambled tofu laced with pepper & no other seasoning accompanied by rock hard cold toast, lukewarm beans, burnt tomato, slimy & cold field mushrooms etc. We thought we'd give the Potting Shed a second chance in case our experience was a one off...shame on us...slightly shorter wait with same outcome. In neither visit did the server ask us if everything okay & we had no opportunity to comment.

Service was good and the staff cooked scrambled egg for the infant. 3 of us had soup which was not very warm and extremely salty with solid cold pats of butter which could not be spread. A little overpriced, but the room was pleasant with the option of sitting outside.

Now under new ownership, this is once again a lovely cafe. It has been tastefully decorated. We had blt's, there was a choice of artisan breads. A great selection of cakes and pastries. My hubby had the mini egg cookie bar, says one of the best cakes he has had for sometime. They have a chef starting in May, so will be offering brunch, lunch. We will be back. We had our 2 dogs with us and could sit in or out. They have treats for the dogs. The staff were lovely and accommodating.

Disappointed. We were dissatisfied on several counts. We were "told off"for entering via front door, even though it was open.Tables had not been cleaned.Food was not what we had ordered and paid for.i.e bacon rolls which came as sourdough bread. Was tasty enough, but my friend didn't enjoy hers. When waitress brought a jug of milk, she accidentally spilled some on the table and did not clear it up.

Cracking little spot for the dog owning vegans! Enjoyed lush oat milk lattes alongside vegan cheeze twists and spinach with cheeze turnovers, closely followed by a falafel, hummus and leaves sandwich on sourdough for MrsC and a Cheeze, chutney and leaves on sourdough for me. Probably shouldn’t have given into the vegan cake selection but another oat milk latte was ordered each to complement a carrot cake for MrsC and a monstrous chocolate oat slab for myself. With the exception of the sourdough bread (which lacked the usual crust and bite) everything was spot on. Hoping the next visit will see the supply of vegan cream replenished so we can try the vegan scones, jam and cream tea and the new chef will be in place to extend the savoury selection to light bites and lunches. Super hidden gem in Overstrand in the most unlikely of spots for vegans and carnivores alike. Hope it sees a steady stream of customers and is thriving on any future return of ours to Norfolk. Lovely service (for both two and four legged customers) and welcoming to all; the hounds loved their treats as much as we enjoyed ours. Lovely

We visited today whilst on a family weekend in the area. The potting shed isn't the easiest to find within the garden centre and is all the way by the exit. This tea room is situated in Overstrand Garden Centre, which is one of the nicest around, well worth a visit on it's own merit, but even better when there's a nice tea room there as well. The tea rooms have been upgraded since I was there last and it shows, very clean and smart, the food we had was very nice, but I do have a small complaint, the menu is very very limited, maybe 4 types of breakfast , a soup, a pasty, and ham egg and chips, there were some sandwiches as well, I probably missed something, but for me it's limited. I was hoping for a nice roast dinner, but no luck.

The Potting Shed was a great find. Had breakfast there which was so good we went back there the next day for breakfast. On the first visit we had the full farmhouse breakfast: a big plate of wonderfully cooked food and at £8.75, which included a cup of coffee or tea, it was great value too. The following day we had the mini farmhouse breakfast, which is a smaller portion of the full breakfast, and the quality of course was still there, and again, including a coffee or tea, at £6.75 it was an absolute bargain! Served by very friendly and efficient staff, I would highly recommend The Potting Shed, and the garden centre itself is well stocked with good quality plants.

We had done a bit of shopping in Cromer and on a breezy May morning with a need for a few plants and a light lunch we decided to pop into Overstrand Garden Centre. There was plenty of parking but a long drag through the outside areas to reach the potting shed tea rooms and bistro. On a warm sunny day not an issue but today in wind and drizzle not pleasant. Once inside the tearooms it was still cold. This was our first visit so we looked for a specials board for the dish of the day there was just the normal menu on the table. This was heavy with breakfasts served all day most featured potato Rosti a flat breaded cake of mashed potato but no hash browns or fried bread personally as a traditionalist I prefer fried bread with a full English breakfast that at £8.95 looked expensive. Other snacks were available we settled for hot drinks to warm us up and the little lady had a sausage roll and chutney and I choose soup of the day. I am fussy about soup again a traditionalist I like leek and potato, vegetable, tomato I would not enjoy carrot and coriander or tomato and basil that seem to have taken over as flavours of modern choice. I was relieved when submitting my order to be told the soup was vegetable and the sausage roll was served cold as that is how the wife likes them. All good so far after a reasonable wait our food arrived the wife’s sausage roll was warm my vegetable soup was dark brown and thin in texture. Worse to come my soup was heat hot but also curry hot in taste the only vegetable that could be detected was onion. I eat curry so I managed to eat it with the small piece of white baguette that came with it. Once finished and my wife had wondered off to find the plants we were looking for I spoke to a gentleman that appeared to have a management role and asked him what was the flavour of the soup of the day as I had been told it was vegetable but it tasted strongly of curry he went away came back and said the chef said it was vegetable I asked if he had tasted it he said no I asked him if he would do so and I left disappointed. There is nothing to encourage me to return to this tea shop neither the quality of the food or the service which I have rated as average as there are so many I have rated as good in East Anglia.

Has taken us awhile to do our revisit & took people along with us after our first "need to go back there" , have to say was slightly disappointed, had a lovely relaxed feeling first time round & loved what we had but this time some of us including me found it hard to find something we really fancied although what we did pick was nice, a very long wait though for food {except for a breakfast the rest were cold} & we were the second ones waiting for lunch so dread to think how long others were there for as it got really busy, I do wonder at the kitchen being able to cope with all the extra tables that have now been added too, even the relaxed staff last time seemed to have taken on rather harassed look although still helpful, think we might wait until winter to try again & see if we can luck out with the super meat dish that was on the special board first time round.....

Had lunch here with a friend recently and although the food was tasty I did feel that it was over priced compared to other garden centres.

We called here on the off chance as we'd heard the Cafe had just been taken over after it had been shut down for a while. Well what a pleasant surprise! Bright revamped tearoom with outdoor seating, good menu with staples plus some extras. We had the full English and I had a bacon sandwich ( not on the menu but there was no problem). All was tasty, good quality produce. We ordered the lime and courgette cake to take home which was delicious. We'll be back!

I called in at the newly refurbished cafe while visiting Overstrand Garden Centre. What a difference! It's now bright and cheerful with a lovely seating area in the courtyard just outside and also undercover in a very large, open potting shed.

Saw this place advertised in a local free paper. Was in the area so thought would give it a go. And wow what a find. A fairly limited menu but what there is is done exceptionally well right down to the (second chef) poking his head round from the kitchen hearing my wife saying she didnt like chilli and saying its ok we cook from fresh so can do it without. We ordered the food from two very friendly waitressess sat down seconds later chef comes out asks my wife if she would like a couple of additions to her meal to enhance the flavour. WOW WOW. Food was lovely down to earth and staff fantastic.

well, I thought lunch at a Garden Centre might be salad and a bit of Quiche but Three weeks ago met some friends for lunch there and had a fabulous roast Beef and our friends had a Beetroot And Something Risotto! I said at the time it was the best meal I had ever had in the area and will be coming back! Lunch for 4 with excellent desserts came to roughly £50.

Since the newly refurbished restaurant has opened, we have been quite a few times. The décor is lovely and bright. All the staff are so friendly. The coffee is really the best, and the Mushroom and Garlic Linguine that my friend and I had for our lunch the other day was just so tasty. I have to be honest it is a real pleasure to visit now. They do not hurry you. Have a look yourself at the amazing change in this restaurant you wont regret it. Simon the chef has a really good team around him.

Thought we would give the place a look after its revamp {Previously known as Gardners Retreat} well what a new look greeted us, very bright & welcoming, staff lovely & friendly ,haven't tasted braised brisket like that since nan used to cook it {this was one of the specials for today}& my red cabbage was never quite like that which I ate today, with recipe safely tucked away I already know why, never put in the red wine !!!!! We will be back to try the many other offerings , think omelette could be next or even hot sausage roll with chutney or, or, or....

We went to The Three Horseshoes at Briston for Norfolk Restaurant Week, we arrived early and was welcomed in by very professional and friendly staff, we decided to sit outside and have a drink in a very pretty garden, whilst we waited for our table. I wasn't sure what to expect as we hadn't eaten there before and having looked in advance at the Menu, wasn't sure what it would be like. Wow, the food was exceptional, they must have an exceptionally talented forward thinking Chef, the Pigs Cheeks starter was delicious and excellently cooked, the main courses and desserts we all had, were so full of flavour, an exceptional meal. The Bar and waiting staff were all very friendly, Chef exceptional, we will definitely be re-visiting but next time we will stay the night. Highly recommend.

I had lunch with my elderly parents today. My father enjoyed his sausage but my fish pie filling wasn’t nice and some of the fish didn’t taste fresh, the mash topping was nice but the filling was a poor attempt at what can be a lovely tasty dish. My mum had the beer battered fish and chips. The beer batter was overpowering to the fish and tasted like the oil was old. I tried some of my mums and agreed with her. It’s two years since I have eaten here and it was a disappointment.

If you want to eat awful and not healthy than best you camp in. Food is cold, staff are rude and faces like they don't wanna be there. Short woman was very rude and you could hear them shouting out the back. Some man who appeared to be friends with them messing around outside. This isn't what i like to see when eating out. HUGE let down girls. They need to be more polite and have a better manner and not shout so much!!!

It was a cold and rainy day but we were given a warm welcome at The Crown, by our server - Shakira. We ate a generously portioned and lovely lunch. Our dog was also made to feel welcome. Would thoroughly recommend a visit.
