Stayed 2 nights B&B, noisy tired room, noise acceptable when pub was open but not in the middle of the night. Short of staff who did try their best. Breakfast on 2nd morning was cold. Only positives good location and free customer parking

Jay, Steve and Kelly are great hosts and a brilliant addition to this pub. The last time we went they had just taken over and this time we saw so many changes. The restaurant is amazing with traditional items from turkey and the food we had was absolutely lovely. Thanks Jay for everything on Sunday and feeding me..!!! Love Kev and Jen xx

Having seen some pretty scathing reviews on trip advisor , we did know what to expect. We knew the pub had been revamped and Kelly and her husband had worked hard to improve the pub. Well wow it was lovely . It had been totally revamped . It had a lovely restaurant area. They now serve a Turkish menu. The food was really lovely . My husband and I had the sharing platter - there was such an amazing assortment and quantity of meat served with rice and a lovely salad . We couldn’t fault it and would definitely go there again . We have recommended it to all our neighbours and friends too .

What a lovely breath of fresh air this pub and restaurant has given to Cromer. Kelly and her team are an absolute delight.

Popped in for a quick drink, very nicely decorated, friendly staff.

Recently had an overnight stay with my 2 kids and sister. We had the family room of a double and 2 single beds, the room, tea & coffee making,was very spacious with ensuite and very clean. We were greated at check in and nothing was too much trouble. Unfortunately the bar was closed being renovated at the time of our stay but we were greeted in the morning with a cooked breakfast. Was a little bit greasy and the additional garnishing not necessary for my taste but still very tasty. There was plenty of parking and in the heart of Cromer with a 5 minute walk to the beach and promenade. Great value for money, definitely recommend. 😁

Popped in here today around lunchtime, a busy Saturday in Cromer, four of us with a view to having a few drinks. After waiting ages for someone to actually appear at the bar to serve us , eventually we got served. There were a Few customers sitting around but no staff visible. After deciding to have another round, my husband stood at the bar again for ages , and again no staff anywhere to be seen so we decided to not bother and go elsewhere, which is a shame as the beer was actually quite nice. This place obviously not bothered in making money !

God awful.... Felt intimidated..... The place is filthy and dirty tables need cleaning... Carpets need hoovering.... Toilets are filthy.... Bar staff more interested in talking to themselves then the customers.... Plus far to expensive.

Avoid. Dirty & chaotic. Stayed for one night. Couldn't lock the door. Group of foreigners hanging around in car park at back. Felt unsafe. Really run down pub and accommodation. Heating was broken. Old bedding and towels in room. Toilet door didn't close properly. Breakfast was ok but table diaty and lots of missing seat pads off dining chairs. Indian restaurant owned by same people. Had to send curry back as lamb full of gristle

Popped in earlier (5.45 ish) to see if they were doing food , as they didn’t used to on a Monday. Was very quiet so bit unsure as haven’t been since it’s had new owners. Service and food were great. Will definitely come again. Had vegetable lasagne and steak.

I don't class myself as too fussy but this place fell below my expectations, the noise levels were extremely bad even for a pub, the continental breakfast was non existent and the room was never serviced, I will never return, on the positive side the room was clean and a good size.

After hearing about the charity event that was being held there we popped along and had the best time. The entertainment was spot on and was such a lovely atmosphere. Well done to all involved it certainly was well organised and such a great cause to. We also enjoyed some rather tasty food from the new menu. Thank you guys

What a lovely experience! First time we had been in since the new owners took over and were pleasantly surprised. We felt very welcome unlike our previous visit with the previous owners this time was such a lovely experience. Staff were very friendly and very helpful. Really friendly proper pub. All the staff were full of welcoming smiles. Made us (a family of 5) feel right at home. Made the dog comfortable and wish we had found this place sooner. Decent selection of beers

Now under new management. Should change it back to a pub only instead of offering dining because it really is a pub/pub.

Amazing price quality meal for the price would come again

Been here a couple of times now since New Management has taken over. Food and service has been really good and very reasonable if you are on a tight budget. Staff were really friendly and helpful.

Food very reasonable priced. Traditional homemade food. Staff very friendly and always had smiles on faces. New owners very polite and treated staff with respect. I can’t wait to visit again and see the changes that they have planned! Well done everyone.

Expensive for what you get. No bread and butter with very small portion of prawn cocktail and only about 6 prawns. Halloumi and sweet chilli starter had 3 small pieces of breaded halloumi and a small portion of sweet chilli sauce and nowt else ( ie no side salad or garnish) for £6.95!! Beef supposed to be medium rare - wasn’t- was well done. Very thickly sliced however it was tender. Aunt Bessie’s Yorkshire x1 Tiny parsnips and potatoes My red cabbage was underdone. Food lukewarm. Very small portions for £14.95! Squirty cream on desert and no actual raspberries with raspberry eton mess just a raspberry sauce. Husband’s crumble not the best and tiny portion of ice cream (£6.95!) Service very slow. We didn’t complain or make a fuss but won’t be going back. Place virtually empty. Out of about 10 tables, only 3 tables being used including us and its Mother’s Day! Says it all really! I know they’ve only just started and I appreciate it takes time to get things right and up and running but it needs to be way better than this!

The pub is under new management. The food is simple, good quality pub grub. The restaurant area is light and spacious. The staff are friendly.

One horrible member staff was very unwelcoming, she was very judgemental to all off us, she refuse selling us drinks, then told us we had to leave even tho we are 19. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. Do not not visit

Felt so unwelcome here, staff members asked us when we walked in “can we help you” in a harsh tone as if we weren’t supposed to be there and made us feel we as tho we were not welcome. One staff member was particularly rude and extremely unpleasant towards to me and my friends telling us to leave after one drink.

We came here for a lunchtime drink & decided to book for dinner that evening. A warm welcome was given and we ventured into the the beautiful quirky courtyard out the back of the pub, lovely little private beer garden. Our meal in the evening was superb, the pie was fantastic, fish cakes were delicious, fish plate was plentiful & chicken cooked to perfection. The staff were efficient and extremely friendly as were the locals!! We would love to return but have since learnt that the landlady is being forced out by the greedy brewery who is charging excessive money and upping the lease payments. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. This pub is a fantastic asset to Cromer! Why is this allowed to happen. Feel so sad that we’ve only just found this little gem after coming to Cromer for nearly 20 years, a proper traditional pub with great atmosphere, fantastic food and lovely welcoming staff .

We can't comment on the food as we were not served. Having attended this pub on the Monday night to be told they only served food from Tuesday we duly turned up the next day at 7pm . Only to be told that they were not taking any more food orders as they were full. Plenty of seats...just no food. I explained that as my husband was vegetarian we had selected this because of the good choice of vegetarian dishes. But there was no budging. Had we been advised to book yesterday we would have. We won't be going back.

After discoverring this friendly pub we ate here for 4 evenings. The food is homemade and very good. We can recommend the Lasagne (was just like mamma used to make) the BBQ chicken, the fish cakes, the steak & ale pie but all the food looked great. Superb desserts too, a real gem. We recommended to others in our hotel and they were not disappointed. Thank you for saving us from some poor hotel food.

We had an excellent meal here at the white horse today. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially when explaining what lumpy bumpy was 😂 Lovely to be away from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist area but equally as popular. We’ll definitely return and would recommend you pay them a visit too. I had the Vegan shepherds pie and choc fudge cake And my hub had the BBQ chicken and salted caramel cheese cake Yum yum

Six if us arrived for an early evening meal. The pub was able to accommodate us, and oh how we enjoyed the food. Homely cooked food. Hot. Home made pie of the day (steak and Ale) was delicious (x4). A hidden gem in Cromer that is so worth a visit 😋

We visited this pub for a drink with the intention of eating. We asked if they were serving food and was told not on a Monday which was fair enough however her tone was abrupt as though we were really not welcome. Very unfriendly.

we visited the White Horse with friends on saturday. we have had a drink there before but never eaten. nice warm welcome from staff, food excellent, a lot of choice, generous portions and well cooked. service also excellent, we will definitely be back.

As mentioned in a previous review, we felt very much like we were not, as visitors, welcome. As we stood at the bar waiting, we picked up the menu. The bar maid shouted "if you want food we're fully booked all night" That was us...

We stayed here for one night. There is parking available. Our room was fine, only feedback was the only plug sockets we could access were behind furniture. Could do with an extension lead. Really nice breakfast and evening meal.. Very friendly staff. Thanks for hosting...

Great pub, very fair price for a pint. Dog friendly and food looks lovely. Good range of beers on tap and in bottles. Definitely want to go back and try the food.

Traditional pub with friendly staff. Slight walk from the other pubs. Small beer garden at the rear.. quite busy when we were there before the band started.

Friendly atmosphere in well run pub, very popular and you will have to book in advance. Best fish and chips we’ve had. Highly recommended.

Just stumbled across this place. The food was very good.. We had Thai Fish Cakes and Belly Pork. Very reasonable and so happy to find a good food stop in Cromer as by and large that is quite hard to find if you want anything...

The Sunday lunch was delicious. I will return. The staff are friendly but be prepared to be called 'love' constantly when ordering 😁 (my pet hate). Decor is average but not important as the staff are jolly and food is lovely.

Unwelcoming, rude, abrupt staff that don’t seem to know what a smile is. Seems to only cater for locals, holidaymakers clearly not welcome in here. However we had fabulous service at the Kings Head 🙂

As mentioned previously, lamb curry particularly good, my family also enjoyed cheesy crab and the salmon. It would therefore appear to us as the best pub in Cromer. 👍

Bar manager who failed to smile once ,almost as bad as the food which was picked from the specials board , 100% microwave meals , well below what iceland 1 pound specials are , swerve the chili and the dogmeatballs even better swerve the building altogether £49 fuming
