Only had drinks, so cannot comment on the food. Traditional pub, tired around the edges, however super beer garden, lots of outdoor seats, local beer sold, and unusually for most pubs a good choice of cask ale. The atmosphere inside the pub is always friendly, and the cost of drinks is very competitive. I don't live local, indeed only visit whilst on holiday but always look forward to having a drink or 2 at the fishing boat.

What a refreshing change to find an untouched, real pub! Local for locals, with outsiders welcome. Lager and wine honestly priced, and there was evidence that they were £3.00 a pint for beers at one stage. These are a little more now, but not by much! Shame about the awful summer we are having, with rain, as the pub is small, and yet there is a big garden and beer terrace, so when we get some su, would be back here for drinks outside. Nice place. Local's must be happy to have it.

Called in for a pint and some thia food, it was very tasty but poor portion size the starters at 5,75 were appalling 4 tiny chicken pieces for the satay, not even on skewers, 4 tiny squares of pork toast, Green curry tasty but hardly any chicken we actually had a chicken in fridge so added some more, and was same with the beef 😢 they really need to give more for the money we were still hungry , after 35 pounds spent

Tried the Thai food. Fantastic. Fresh cooked, flavoursome and great value. Tried the chicken spring rolls, vegetable spring rolls and pork toast starters- sooooo good. And 2 sweet and sour chicken and a massaman curry for mains ( not spicy ), ( opted for chips as not keen on rice) Can not fault the meals. Will definitely be back. Well done the Fishing Boat for thinking outside the box and trying something different.

WELL !!! I would like to tell you not to go as its not good BUT unfortunately I can't, this place is the hub of Runton, staff are hard working, friendly, customers, are friendly, drinks are a reasonable price and then we come to the Sunday lunch, the lunch was probably one of the best I have eaten in many a year, this is from a person who does not really like roast and will do anything to avoid it, but this roast was exceptional, hot, very hot, meat tender, vegetables plenty, service excellent, then we come to the sweet, very basic, Spotted Dick, Sticky Toffee pudding, need I say more, I had Sticky Toffee, with ice cream, you don't get one scoop you get 2. On a Sunday they had live music, playing modern music that everyone knew and sang along to dancing, the place was alive. This is a very traditional pub, no airs and graces, but fantastic. I would recommend booking if you want Sunday lunch, probably a week in advance, they appear to only have one sitting, which is staggered, thus producing the good service and excellent food

Popped in after a trip to the beach and some chips. Went straight to the garden out the back (handily, directions are painted on the floor in the alleyway). There is a ground level covered beer garden on the car park, but head up a few steps and there is a sprawling beer garden with tables, a covered area, archways and room for the children to run around....and a real effort has been made to make it a nice relaxing area. However, the same can't be said of the inside of the pub unfortunately. Entering from the rear felt like I had stepped into a labyrinth, passing by the snug and some very basic toilets (the gents had nice wall tiles though), indeed my wife almost ended up behind the bar and left via the staff door. An extra point goes to the barman who took the time to pour a shamrock on the top of my son's Guinness! There was a wide array of drinks to choose from including decent local ales.

I am new to this, and have to say my first review was more out of anger and insult, as it was about The Crown, Sheringham and its rip off pricing, and alienating of locals. Nobody local can afford to drink there. It's an insult and an empty pub, to boot! This us a real local, with a pint of honest lager at £3.00, and that is what we locals want! Honest, fair pricing. The pub still makes a profit out of the pricing and more importantly, ordinary people can afford to go. Nice little pub, bit dated, and the garden needs a bit of care, but a real boozer, for locals! Well done.

This is how they should treat customers if they want them to return. Other pubs should take note. When I was a teenager some 40 years ago, I seem to remember the Landlady was a nice looking French woman married to an Englishman., Is that the current Landlady, or am I getting this mixed up with the other Pub at East Runton. I had booked for dinner a little while ago as a surprise for my wife’s 70th birthday and was already to go out last night. Imagine my shock when casually browsing through their website, it said that they were temporarily closed! I had received no text, email or telephone call to notify me that the booking had been cancelled and at very short notice had to find another restaurant. Luckily I managed to get a table at Sculford Mill where we enjoyed a really delicious meal and the service was friendly and exemplary unlike the Barsham Arms.
