We decided to visit as we knew one of the staff members (Charlie) from a previous hotel We called in advance to change our booking from one night to two and this was very well dealt with by Dean On arrival Dean greeted us and showed us to our room and made sure we were made welcome In the afternoon we we had a few drinks in the bar and all staff members were extremely friendly Our evening meal was one of the best meals we have had for a very long time and Hannah looked after us well. Meal the second night was equally as good Charlie was surprised to see us for breakfast and made us very welcome and the breakfast was amazing - if anything too big! We have arranged to visit again in a couple of months and would highly recommend

Our second visit in as many days. Pleasant environment surrounded by pictures from local artists. Tasty compact menu to choose from. Delicious meal. Pleasant and attentive staff. Will be back.

Just Wow! It's not often you find a bijou country inn in the sleepy heart of Norfolk which would surpass it's better-known competitors in terms of both dining and hospitality. Luckily, for a 70th birthday celebration we did exactly that. Charles, Dean and the team provided us with a day to remember. From our initial enquiry they handled everything with the kind of professionalism and patience you'd expect in the very best establishments. We had a fantastic Christmas lunch for 14, with beautifully presented turkey, beef and trimmings served in abundance. Service was exemplary with everything as ordered and one or two extra surprises. Going the extra mile is in this team's DNA. Superb!

A return visit which didnt disappoint. The meal was perfect. We had Mussels followed by two delicious puds. Definitely return.

We booked & stayed for two nights at the “ The Three Horseshoes “ in Briston, to visit Thursford’s Christmas show, what a perfect location just 10 mins drive away, the breakfast was probably one of the best breakfasts I’ve had ( Plenty of choice with good quality produce & toast ) & evening meals were absolutely lovely, backed up by a comprehensive stock of Wine & Pump Ales from the Norfolk area , spirts & cocktails. The room we stayed in, in my opinion was the best I’ve stayed in, very stylish, very clean & well equipped for a very comfortable stay. Dean & his team were a pleasure to meet & look forward to another stay when the time comes around. The Three Horseshoes is very well maintained building a credit to the area. Many Thanks

We went to The Three Horseshoes at Briston for Norfolk Restaurant Week, we arrived early and was welcomed in by very professional and friendly staff, we decided to sit outside and have a drink in a very pretty garden, whilst we waited for our table. I wasn't sure what to expect as we hadn't eaten there before and having looked in advance at the Menu, wasn't sure what it would be like. Wow, the food was exceptional, they must have an exceptionally talented forward thinking Chef, the Pigs Cheeks starter was delicious and excellently cooked, the main courses and desserts we all had, were so full of flavour, an exceptional meal. The Bar and waiting staff were all very friendly, Chef exceptional, we will definitely be re-visiting but next time we will stay the night. Highly recommend.

We recently visited the Three Horseshoes and had a fantastic experience. The selection of ales was impressive. We ordered the beef burger, and it was absolutely marvellous - juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. I had mistakenly made the booking for the wrong time, and the kitchen had closed by the time we arrived. However, they kindly reopened it and served us anyway. Thank you to the team for their hospitality and flexibility! Overall, I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great selection of ales and delicious food in a welcoming atmosphere.

Stayed overnight, dinner was good, breakfast was atrocious! Over cooked bacon, sausages, hash browns and eggs, whether, poached or fried were hard and burnt. The toast was beyond crispy, frightened to eat the crusts in case we broke our teeth. The room was nice, Myrtle, needs a long mirror on the blank wall near the plug points. Staff friendly and accommodating at dinner.

What a find we visited with friends as part of restaurant week. The decor and outside area is stylish and welcoming. The staff were very pleasant and were pleased to tell help with any questions about the facilities and menu. Lots of information about forth coming events advertised. The choices on the menu were inspired and the most exciting options available from the establishments taking part in Norfolk Restaurant week. The presentation and quality of food was stunning, as a group we have visited numerous local restaurants and this place has to be sampled.

The greeting as soon as we walked into The Three Horses, was warm and friendly. We were shown to our room, which was so lovely and immaculate. Breakfast was amazing. The Manager and staff were so accommodating. A lovely atmosphere all round Would highly recommend.

Lovely environment, good food and excellent service. Charles and the team are always very welcoming, going above and beyond for us (and our husky’s). Lovely pub garden in the summer, and cozy inside for the colder months. Highly recommend.

Stopped here with friends to break up a journey and enjoyed a fantastic 'proper fish finger' sandwich and a well kept pint. The man who was serving was friendly, efficient and attended to our requirements brilliantly. I would definitely visit again.

I'm not sure what's going on here, but the food just keeps getting better and better. Really good cooking, sensible portion sizes and a great range of local beers (Wildcraft, Moon Gazer, etc.). All served by friendly and upbeat staff. The bar area lacks a bit of character, and the wine list could be more interesting, but these are minor and subjective points. The restaurant is comfortable and there's a beautiful garden to enjoy in the summer. We love it!

We have just had the most delicious lunch. The sirloin & chicken were fantastic & the vegetables very tasty. We also enjoyed the sticky toffee pudding which was light. Also all the staff were very attentive & kind & gave excellent service . It was a particularly kind gesture to provide a celebratory plate for the birthday "boy" & "girl".

Was here for a Cars & Coffee meeting so the pub wasn't open as such. They were doing Coffee and Bacon rolls which were brilliant. Very friendly staff, the pub looks very nice, great decor and plenty of car parking. We will be going back with family for a meal at some point.

Brilliant as always, booked lunch on Monday 16th Sept, we were made welcome and shown to our table, funny, efficient and great host is Charles, and just made to feel special, food was stunning, John Dory x3 and the Morrocan one up the corner, food never dissapoints, good value, worth a visit if your in the area.

We had a first class meal at the Three Horsehoes (the best of our trip). The atmosphere was great and the staff were so friendly and accommodating, they went above and beyond when one of our dogs was spooked by the fox picture. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Norfolk.

Lovely country pub; excellent food and reasonable choice. Staff great. Spoilt by lots of flies in the dining area thus don not visit a second time.

We stopped at The Three Horseshoes after a morning at Sandringham, the food was amazing as were the staff we saw. The food was cooked fresh and tasted lovely. Nice big garden to sit out in the sunshine too. Would recommend a visit.

My wife and I returned to The Three Horseshoes for a third time last month having enjoyed a lovely stay at the pub in both 2021 and 2023. Unfortunately the weather let us down for the second year running, so we couldn’t enjoy breakfast and dinner in the beautiful garden, but it didn’t ruin our stay at all. The food has gone up a level under the new chef; every dish we had was superb (with a slightly overcooked egg on my gammon the only blip). Service was excellent on the whole. It really is a special pub, and one that we’ll be returning to regularly.

We had the beef and pork . Yorkshires lovely with white and flavoursome red cabbage and roasted carrots all perfectly cooked . The cauliflower cheese was great and good that it is in a separate dish that also keeps it warm as you help yourselves. The wine menu is good and my glass of red complemented my meal while hubby had a good choice on the beers.

Excellent meal. Good company in comfortable setting and good atmosphere. Pork belly starter was very good and the steak and ale pie was even better.

Very disappointing, the food was not up to the usual standard. Perhaps they have again changed the chef. Had fish and chips, chips were soggy and greasy definitely not crispy and fluffy and the fish batter not very nice, comment about the pie was too thick a pastry and could of had more gravy.Music too loud. Such a shame. This was our first meal with the recent change and doubt we will eat there again

Stayed overnight the room was nicely decorated comfortable beds and en suite very clean and tidy food was really good

We phoned very much last minute to try and get a table for 4 and were extremely happy to hear - yes that’s fine! When we arrived it was super busy so many, many thanks for fitting us in. Happy smiling staff looked after us, and our food was just excellent - special mention must be made of the steak and ale pie! The new 1565 beer is also very good, with a charity donation being made for every pint sold. The year is celebrating when the building was built. Would highly recommend - oh, and they have rooms!

The three horseshoes is a bit of a hidden gem, I dont get much time away from work, my daughter booked an over night stay here. All I can say this establishment is a relaxing place to stay. The service, the rooms and especially the food were way above what I had expected from a rural pub.. highly recommended.

This place was recommended to us by the owner of the B&B we are staying at, and I have to say he wasn't wrong. The 'Asian Beef' starter was so good I could have ordered another, and the steak & ale pie main was just as mouthwateringly good. We can highly recommend this place.

We had an absolutely wonderful meal with friends here. Service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The menu choices were excellent - I struggled to make up my mind! ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!!!!!!! A one night stay on 3 day bed and breakfast crawl in Norfolk. Staff were exceptional in every way. Greeting on arrival to the rooms and the amazing evening meal and breakfast. Full English was spot on, quality of ingredients, fresh and hot. Pancakes with a fruit selection and honey, and or syrup. As always in hospitality staffing is an issue but you would never know with the service, not just us but everyone got. Front of house staff were attentive and helpful but not to excess. Shame could only give 5 stars.

Honestly, one of the best places to stay around the area. Definitely recommend staying and having the food. Me and my partner had a three course meal each and all was outstanding and presented well. The room we stayed in was very clean, comfy and spacious. The service was exceptional, we felt very welcomed. There’s a fairly large selection of wines with great descriptions, we bought a bottle to enjoy at home.

Today was our second trip to the three horse shoes for dinner. The service was once again amazing, thanks to Hannah and I believe their newest member of staff who was absolutely lovely also. Hannah was definitely the highlight of our visit again! She is so attentive and welcoming. The food both times has been excellent and Hannah has gone out of her way to answer our questions about the menu and recommend dishes to try, we have not yet been recommended one we didn’t like! Lived in Briston for 4 years now and am gutted I didn’t start coming to the three horse shoes sooner. We will definitely be back!

Really disappointing. Stayed in the Three Horsehoes on a Saturday evening in May 2024. Food very average and overpriced. The reason the review is terrible is because after checking out of our room I realised I'd left my hugo boss gillet, T-shirt and jeans. I emailed to ask if they would look for my items in the room. No response. I called and asked them to look? No response. I chased again to be told they didn't have them. Which is impossible as I know exactly where they were left!! Obviously they have dishonest staff. So please don't bother! Over £350 in stolen items.....

We had Sunday lunch and it was delicious. The atmosphere is very nice. A light, airy room with pleasant decor. I liked the menu but the word ‘proper’ describing the gravy rather grated with me until I spoke to my friend about it who is Norfolk through and through and she told me it was the perfect word!!! I wouldn’t want improper gravy! I had to ask for more…it was, well, proper!!! It all was. Thank you to all the staff and chef.

Delicious food. Nicely presented pub both inside & out. Not an extensive menu but a good enough range of choice. The food was very well presented & tasted absolutely delicious. Service was efficient. Comfortable seating, very clean. Shame it was so quiet but it was a Wednesday lunchtime. Hard to judge atmosphere without other diners there but we would definitely return & highly recommend.

Felt very welcome when we stepped through the door, even though we were strangers. Had a comfortable evening . We decided to go for Sunday lunch, was very welcoming again, but sad to say the dinner was awful, the roast potatoes were so hard we could hardly get a knife in them, and vegetables were a lot to be desired. The sweet was lovely. I also had a problem and had to pop in to see them, and even though they were relaxed and fun, they treated me with respect and couldn't have been more helpful. You have a good front of house team.

Stopped for a meal on Monday night. Beef hotpot was dry, overcooked and a measly portion. The waitress said she would tell the kitchen. We were still fully charged for everything. Disappointing. Other dishes were ok but nothing special.

we dined here with our long term friends who have move to Edgefield Nr Holt We where looked after by Faith and Kerry Faith was our waitress for the evening and she looked after us well the food was presented very well and was of excellent quality and we would highly commend We and our friends would happily return soon for yet another fine meal the ales where pleasant too the atmosphere was very relaxed and warm and we where made to feel very welcome in the summer this pub would be very busy and would recommend you phon ahead to book a table the gardens look very large and pleasant and would make for relaxed family eating out in the summer Thank you from Ray and Valerie Milsted and Laurence and (Rosemary Claridge Edgefield). look forward to seeing you soon

Sunday lunch was best I’ve had in years. Not only that, but the service was impeccable. We are genuinely blown away by the standard here. I cannot recommend this venue enough. Please come and enjoy the fantastic staff and very tasty food!!! 10/10 will come again.

We had the pleasure of staying at The three horseshoes for a night. Lovely spacious room with a super comfy bed and beautiful soft bed linen. We had our evening meal there and chose from the set menu. The food was delicious and the service excellent. We also enjoyed a beautiful breakfast. We would stay again for sure when in the area. What an absolute gem of a place this is 😉 We're on holiday and most the Pub food in the area so far was ok, found the Three Horseshoes by chance, actually were lost 🤣 popped in to see if Lunch was still available and WOW what a reception, great atmosphere, super menu and the Welsh Rarebit is unbelievable, a must visit if your in the area.

2024 update: we went back and things had declined greatly. I’m sorry to report the food was average at best. The Staff didn’t seem to care about us at all. I sent a dish back (chicken not cooked through) and was told the chef likes it like that; batter on the fish was like thick dough; fat chips tastes like old potatoes and not crispy and didnt seem fresh. The staff wouldn’t be at all flexible on mixing across menus; had to order extra fries for the kids as the staff wouldn’t swap out chunky fries for chips. The kids couldn’t have the deserts they wanted as they were on the wrong menu I wouldn’t go back.
