Wellingtons in Dover

Nice place right on the sea front. Warm and inviting with a great selection of food and drinks. Also dog friendly. We visited for lunch on a Monday (lots of places closed on a Monday) and there were a few other tables of customers in there already. The food was tasty and hot, but the service seemed to be a little disjointed when we visited. The fries came separately and much later, my order was wrong, and the sauces we requested were forgotten about. It was also quite expensive for effectively a sandwich lunch, but I would return if in the area again as it was a nice atmosphere and the staff were friendly.

We have just been to, what used to be Wellingtons cafe, on the seafront. We had two plates of scrambled eggs and two glasses of juice. The bill came to £20.10. What a rip off! Such a shame that the old Wellingtons are no longer in residence. The place was nigh in empty - Speaks for itself really! Won't be going there again - such a shame!

Went there with family such a poor service and slow kitchen wait 1 hour for meal I will not recommend to any other people server did have clue how to set up table and keep dropping staff on the floor

We waited 30 ish minutes for drinks and over an hour for food! Was told we were lying because of the food ticket (however we knew this to be untrue because our parking ran out). The one and only waitress apologised every time she brought over something and we initially sympathised because we understood hospitality can stressful and the only help was two very young girls who seemed very new. The food was delicious as always but was disappointed with the service. When receiving the bill which was full price I said to one of the young girls “I’m not being awkward but I’m not happy to pay full price can we speak to someone”. The manager stormed over shouting at us claiming that if we didn’t pay it would be theft and they’d call the police. The owner came over and said we’d been fed in an hour and that we had nothing to complain about because it was busy. There was multiple tables empty just poor management.

Really disappointed, toast looked like it had been cooked on a radiator, mushrooms horrible, order was wrong and it was expensive, won’t be returning

Great location, lovely staff but food was poor value for money. A fish finger sandwich contained just 2 fish fingers, barely a trace of the homemade tartare sauce promised and not even a salad leaf in propsect. A few broken up crisps on the side that weren't worth eating. The sausage sandwich was better but again served on a wooden platter with a measly smattering of crisps and served luke warm. The side of sweet potato fries was really poor. A tiny serving in a small terracota pot for £3.75! 2 sandwiches, a portion of sweet potato fries, one coffee and a cold drink for nearly £30! Too expensive. We had no more than £10 worth of food at best.

Best breakfast I've ever had will go back again really good customer service and coffee and food was amazing would happily go back again.

Death by delicious breakfast but we managed it! I ordered the full Wellington & it was huge! All very good. Food was served efficiently and was yummy. Aware that we would have ordered some more drinks but was aware they seemed to be shutting earlier than we thought. However, very aware we were visiting in many ways out of season. Will return as local when friends/family are visiting us. Not sure whether you can book and very aware it gets busy especially as holiday time hits. Anyways look forward to visiting again when maybe not too hectic. That fine line of being busy and coping with the volume of people wanting to be fed and not being hectic but then not having enough visitors. Onwards and upwards. Thank you.

Came here for breakfast specifically asked for runny eggs as i hate well done eggs… recieved well done eggs, so i didn’t eat them, just left them on the plate. Still got charged for the eggs in the end even though i told the waitress i couldn’t eat them, and the she didn’t even bother asking me if i wanted her to take it off the bill, which is very indecent. I won’t be returning here again, and i wouldn’t recommend it to anyone as it’s very expensive i paid £13 for a breakfast with a cup of tea and they can’t get the order right. This wasn’t my first time here and there was always something wrong with the order.

I get it .... I live in Deal and on Sunday mist eateries in Deal Town are closed. So the like of Wellingtons are alway busy. The food is of quality and a lot of thought goes into ingredients and menu, for that you won't be disappointed. It's lush ....would always recommend. The down side even when not busy is the service. Yes, you get served by waitress taking order in reasonable expected time. Yet the wait for your food is beyond pain. Its worth than toothache. The persotant watching of waiters coming from the kitchen hoping it's your food. The be upset finding it's not. I get stuff needs cooking but why can't sausages, bacon, beans, mushrooms for example be advanced cooked and kept in ban-marie ???? I ordered beans on toast and pancakes, yet waits 47 mins. The table next to is longer. So if that loooonnnng wait don't bother you , then I will always recommend Wellingtons

This place is great for kids- couldnt have done more to help when I took my 9month old in for lunch. Gave hot water to heat up pouch of food, great and easy to use highchairs! Food was lovely- I had omelette. A little pricey as charged for chips with when asked not to have them. However I was very impressed with the cleanliness and service! Please be aware there is no actual baby change but there is a bench in the toilet so as long as you have a fold up change mat there is space :)
