Disappointed, Will not be returning. We have not been here for over a year due to my husband’s cancer diagnosis. Most definitely has gone down hill. When we arrived my husband was looking on the menu for a child’s size breakfast or very small portion as he’s had half his stomach removed due to cancer. He carry’s a medical card to explain about his portion sizes. There was no smaller portion or child’s menu. He had to order an early bird breakfast even though half he would not eat . We showed a very rude member of staff on the till ( with no name badge ) his medical card and asked if the fried egg could be changed for scrambled egg . She informed us that this would be an extra charge of £1.25 my husband obviously then became upset saying you want to charge me more for a different type of egg and I’m only gonna eat half of it due to the small amount i can eat. Again showing her the medical card . She walked into the back of the kitchen and then came back and said yes you have to pay it do you want it or not. We will definitely not be returning and this will be shared elsewhere and on group cancer forums that have also had this procedure done to remove cancer. Also i will add we waited 10min for our coffees and when returning to our table the food was already there getting cold . Shocking, avoid this cafe . There are plenty more with excellent staff and management and do not discriminate again people with complex medical issues.

Visited with a friend and my mother for lunch. Accompaniments missing from two of the meals which we had to ask for and the pastry on the pie I had ordered was not cooked on the bottom and sides. The waitress asked if I wanted another and I said I did. She returned from the kitchen saying that they bought the pies in implying it was not their fault if it wasn't cooked. She asked if I wanted a different pie. I asked if they were all bought in and she said yes. I choose a different meal. It was only later I realized that it was 2 pounds cheaper. They did not offer to refund the difference or offer any kind of compensation for the inconvenience. It used to be a nice place to eat but now it seems a lot of things are bought in. Very disappointing!!

We went for lunch I ordered an egg mayonnaise baguette which I had on a previous visit & it was lovely, but when it came this time it was a baguette full of mayo & a small smattering of egg I tasted it but it was nearly all mayo !! it made me feel nauseous so I told a staff member I couldn't eat it & why she was polite & went to fetch the manager, the manager came eventually she at first said I had made my choice I said yes but this was not of the same standard as I had experienced before she eventually agreed to offer me another choice of baguette the only one left I could eat was a ham cheese & pickle when this came there was no butter on bread no pickle & a small amount of grated cheese the "ham" was thick cut lumps of white fat with a small bit of meat attached & I mean SMALL it was revolting !! very disappointed & expensive for what u got certainly wouldn't recommend!! a very poor excuse for a lunch !!

Not been here for a few years and won't be back. Went with my husband for lunch. We both had the crispy chicken and bacon sandwich which was supposed to come with chips, coleslaw, onion, tomato and lettuce. The lunch came with no onion and no coleslaw. I asked one of the staff where the Coleslaw was and she said they ran out (forgot to ask about the onion). She offered me a pot of cheese instead! I accepted as thought it may add to taste. The chicken was like you get from supermarket freezers over cooked and covered in oil and obviously very cheap. I also thought it might have been double cooked. The fries were awful again cheap frozen ones. All I ate was a couple of chips and the bacon. My husband ate most of the chips and the chicken and bacon although he said it was very greasy but he was hungry. The meal was £9.95 each. I could have made that for £1. The meal looked ut was thrown together. Whoever cooks the food should be ashamed of themselves. A friend also told me afterwards that they went last week and the food was inedible. Only decent thing was the coffee

I eat there regularly for breakfast which is generally okay. However, once I ate there for lunch and had burger and chips. The burger itself was fine, but the bread bun was hard in places and the chips were old, chewy and lukewarm, unable to eat both the bread and the chips. Interestingly no-one asked us if we were enjoying our meals, I wonder why? How can someone who calls themselves a chef/cook allow that to go out!

We enjoyed a cracking Wellington, full English breakfast on Sunday morning. They open at 10:30am and were already busy ten minutes later. We were a family of four & one of us opted for the vegetarian breakfast, which looked great and was equally, very enjoyable. Next time, we’ll choose our table a little more carefully as once the four adult plates and cups & saucers were served, we were short of space. My husband & I had been just a day earlier and had Jubilee coffee & cake. The coffee is really nice but avoid sitting close to the serving area as it’s a really noisy coffee machine. One slight criticism is that it would have been nice if someone had collected our plates when we’d finished eating. We stacked them on the table where they stayed until we left. Having said that, we will be back.

I came for food with two of my friends when i ordered the special which was cod fish cakes with chips and salad. I told the woman serving i didn’t want the salad so she offered peas instead, which i kindly said no thank you. The meal arrived with the peas on the plate after i said i didn’t want them, they were touching the rest of my food, which if i had an allergy would’ve ended badly. Also, most of the staff that were running the food didn’t have there hair tied up which meant it could’ve possibly got onto someone’s meal. The tables had not been wiped before we sat at the table as there was salt all over the table. The prices of the food didn’t reflect on the taste of the food, the chips were hard. Overall, not best pleased with our visit here.

After asking for a daily alternative the assistant offered oat milk. She failed to inform me that there is actually an extra charge for having oat milk and only recognising this on my receipt.it’s not the cost that has annoyed me but the principle of it. It’s the only place I have been that I have been charged extra for a milk alternative

Called today after looking around the garden centre. 1st ever visit but will not return. Ordered 2 ham & cheese paninis which were both not as hot as they should have been. The cook needs a thermometer to make sure the food is hot & a lesson on how to use a microwave to cook frozen paninis. Also ordered apple crumble for pudding but this came out at the same time as the paninis so that too was cold by the time I got to eat it. Had to return this to the kitchen to be replaced as it was rock hard. The replacement was the same so that was left. Wouldn't waste my money here again

It would be harsh of me to offer criticism of a product I have not tasted so I will leave out the hot food options in this place which I have to say looked appetising. For me the main stay of any place that calls itself a bistro and cafe( bistro this place isn't really in the true sense of the word) is the quality of its surroundings and coffee. I ordered two black coffees and a fruit scone at a cost of six pounds and fourth nine pence. The coffee here is tasteless weak and frankly not worth half the price they were charging. The quality is poor and I suspect very weakly brewed with the addition of too much water. The scone was chewy and not what I expected from this English

I have eaten here twice now and both times have not been impressed. First time the bacon was missing from my burger after a 20 minute wait. It was taken away for another 10 minutes and came back with chips that were barely warm! Clearly it had just been sat for 10 minutes waiting for the bacon. As you can imagine by this time, my companion was almost finished eating and I had lost interest. Today I thought, I will give it another go... Wish I hadn't bothered. I ordered a wonderful looking pie special, again a lengthy wait. To my dismay it was once again luke warm, the gravy had developed a skin, makes you wonder how long it had been waiting to come out? Meanwhile my friend had to wait another 5 minutes for her meal and I couldn't hang around waiting to eat at the same time as mine was barely warm enough as is. I was about done by the time her Salad arrived, the salad was missing ingredients stated on the menu. So if you don't mind like warm food and items missing, go for it, I otherwise wouldn't bother.

Massive garden centre. Lots to see on a first visit. Cafe is spacious and clean. Good staff. Food was delivered to table quickly. All family clear plates on a variety of dishes. Pie of the day for myself had plenty of meat. Will be back again.

We had four different options from the breakfast menu and we had no complaints about any of them. Very large portions of scrambled egg on toast, too big for one of our party. Cooked breakfasts were very good, although baked beans could have been hotter.

I do like this place. Attentive service and great food. Could be classed as a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. I'd recommend the Bacon and Brie, the all day breakfast and their smoothies. All really good!

Popped in for lunch whilst looking around the nursery. Clean and tidy inside and out. Food was ok but definitely overpriced. Nearly £19 for 2 baguettes and 2 pepsis. Staff on the till were very slow and didn't seem to know what to do.

Thank you for a lovely Sunday lunch. The food was good and the staff were very friendly. Have been for coffee and cake previously but this was our first full meal. Very impressed and reasonably priced. One to remember x

Short pit stop for coffee and cake. No complaints from any of our party. Decent coffee. We had a variety of cakes with Flo's mum rating the lemon drizzle the best. This is a nice place to grab a coffee if you are visiting the garden centre.

Plenty of choice, good meals at a reasonable price, friendly service. Lovely to sit for a cuppa and cake after shopping in the great garden centre which sells so much more than plants.

Nice bite to eat. This isn't my first visit & it definitely will not be my last. A large snack type menu, like jacket potatoes, sandwiches, cakes, etc. They also do a Sunday carvery. All sorts of different drinks. Does get very busy around lunch time.As like most garden centres cafes it's not cheap, but well worth it. A must try.

Apparently my parents are regulars here, and insisted I try the place on a shopping visit. Without even checking the menu, I ordered lasagne. I was just in the mood for it.Unfortunatley, the portion I received was far from perfect. It had very little sauce between the layers of pasta, and the edges and corners of the lasagne were overcooked to the point of being impossible to cut, and hard to chew. The side salad was tasty, as was the very light garlic bread accompaniment, and the decaff latte is one of the best I've tasted. The Staff were pleasant and helpful. However, my lunch, on the day, was a disappointment, compounded by someone's decision to boost the volume of the background music (and we were sitting by a speaker) as the number of diners increased, making the ambient noise level even higher and conversation difficult. I wanted to be impressed, for my parents' sake, but Wellingtons fell short.

As a regular visitor I would say we are lucky to have the facility on our doorstep in Tickhill. Always a pleasant welcome from manager and staff.Nice decor and atmosphere.Food and service very good. Especially breakfast. Can get busy at weekends but that's expected as it's next to ( within) the garden centre.Recommend

Having visited this establishment frequently since opening I have noticed more and more that small snack items are extremely overpriced. Previously having encountered over priced very small mince pies prior to Xmas, today we experienced a packet of 2 small biscuits for £1.50, just above the size normally provided free of charge at most cafes! Just not good enough, this 'rip off' lets down what is otherwise a very good place to eat whilst at the adjacent garden centre.

As we were at the garden centre we decided to grab a bite to eat before an afternoon meeting. The place was really busy but service was prompt and efficient. My wife is vegan so the choice was limited but a jacket potato sufficed as I tucked into my daily special of roast pork and stuffing baguette. I've been here before and always been delighted with everything, especially the breakfasts which is something I'll be trying again soon.

Have visited this cafe quite a few times and have always had a lovely meal. It's clean and the staff are friendly. It's always busy when we call but the staff seem to cope with it ok. Two cottage pie dinners £15.40 one tea £1.95 and one bottle Tango orange £2.60. Total £19.95.

Having visited frequently since opening we have used this establishment for breakfast, brunch, coffee and lunch. We have noticed that some individual items are well over priced, such as a very small mince pie costing £1.85, even the server thought it was over priced! Otherwise usually okay as a convenience for using the adjacent garden centre, not too expensive to bother going elsewhere, but will not forget the mince pie!

We've been there a couple of times for breakfast. On both occasions we have been there at around 10am when it wasn't particularly busy so the noise mentioned by others hasn't been a problem. Husband had the full English both times which he said was very good, although a little dry - it came out about 5 minutes after we'd ordered so presumably the bacon and sausage is kept warm.On our first visit I had goats cheese and spinach on toast and was almost overfaced by the size of the portion. Very tasty though. On our second visit I had cheese on toast with Worcester sauce. Although it sounds very ordinary the portion was again large and very tasty. The coffee was good.We eat many breakfasts and I think this one is a little expensive, although the main lunch menu looked reasonably priced. I would certainly revisit.

My mother and I had been to the garden centre so popped into Wellington's for lunch. My mum's not eating much at the mo, so just had a pot of tea (little tea pot, not just a cup, so that's good) and a scone, said it was alright. I had a jacket potato with tuna - not hot enough, but the accompanying salad was nice. I also had cappucino which was a nice big cup, but not exceptional. The place is rather noisy, even though not full and I think it has a "captive market" from the garden centre of people who think "well, we'll have something to eat here", not of people who've especially gone to eat there. As I said, it filled a hole and, if we go back to the garden centre, I'd go again - but I wouldn't have the jacket potato!

Very busy which shows its popularity but noisy due to hard floor and metal roof. It did drown out the piped music though. Food good bit overpriced considering environment. Staff dealt well with numbers coming through. The garden centre itself very good.

Called in on a Sunday morning for breakfast. Lovely clean restaurant with plenty of choice for seating. Ordered cheese on toast with Worcestershire sauce and scrambled eggs on toast with mushrooms. A fresh orange juice and an iced latte. Didn't wait long for the food to be brought to the table, it was delicious. Will definately be going again, this time to try the lunch menu.

I ordered ham, chips and salad (instead of 2 eggs). The ham was tasteless and a strange texture and the salad was more like a garnish ~ bit of chopped up lettuce, few pieces of diced cucumber and beetroot and just 2 pieces of diced tomato ~ it was pathetic! I should have complained but couldn't be bothered. Poor value for money ..... £7 for a meal I didn't enjoy! My lunch partner ordered a pulled pork in barbeque sauce panini ~ which, although tasty, was just a few shreds of pork in sauce. Won't be going again.

We went as a family on a Sunday and were pleasantly surprised. Staff were very polite We opted for Sunday carvery at £11.99 and it was very good. Food was hot and fresh and you are able to pile the plate high. Don't usually do Sunday carvery's but perhaps this helped me change my mind
