Popped in for our Christmas meal and it was perfect! The staff were lovely and most welcoming. Will definitely be returning to this cosy pub.

Absolutely love it here! Sam was fantastic and kind! The tables were beautifully decorated the bathrooms are clean! Which is always a good sign! - staff were polite. Would definitely come again!

A great local pub, with absolutely amazing staff. (Nicki ). The staff always make the family feel welcome. The range of food is good and tastes great, and a family full of picky kids we always leave full and happy. Easy for a family member to navigate around in her wheelchair.

Pobre instalado en esta época. Quería reservar en el menú festivo para 2 personas. Sitio web dijo 'ring to book' así que llamé y me dijeron que tenía que llamar en persona para rellenar el formulario de pedido! ¿Por qué no dijo eso en lugar de pedirte que llamaras? Esto habría significado un viaje de ida y vuelta de 75 minutos, por lo que preguntaron si el formulario podía enviarse por correo electrónico... dijeron "sí", pero necesitan un depósito... Dije "no hay problema pagaré por teléfono" sólo para que me dijeran que no podía hacer eso o enviar un pago BACS? Realmente en el mundo de hoy, prefieren perder la costumbre que tomar un pago con tarjeta. Iremos a otro lugar ahora y ni siquiera intentaremos visitar de nuevo! MUY DECEPCIONANTE>

Un gran pub local, con un personal fantástico, especialmente Nicki, siempre servicial y sonriente. La comida es genial y la mejor pinta de Moretti en Doncaster.

I've been using this pub for over thirty years and it's had its ups and downs , but in recent years since it was taken over by Marston's and the current management team it has become what a good local pub should be. Good service , safe , friendly , and unforgiving of unacceptable behaviour. I recently had a meal there with my daughter , and although it was a standard gammon egg and chips , it's cooking and presentation can make a world of difference......so , the gammon was moist , the chips were freshly cooked , the eggs were runny , the peas were cooked to order , basically everything excellent. I should add too , that although its not in a great area for cask ale volumes , what is on sale is consistently in top condition. I've given my feedback to a lot of local friends who wouldn't have thought of coming here for years , but I'm now seeing them becoming frequent customers. Credit where its due.

Definitely not the best place in the area, the toilets have a smell that makes your eyes water on entering. The decor is dated and some of the customers leave a lot to be desired. Loud and unruly yet no one says anything. Staff were friendly and the food was average at best. It's also become quite expensive in here compared to other places.

We were looking for somewhere to celebrate a family birthday for 8 of us plus two young children, and wanted somewhere we could all drive a similar distance to, hence we found the Flying Childers. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, from booking on the phone, serving at the bar and delivering food to the table. Nothing was too much trouble. We were advised to pre order the food as we were a large group which we did. They asked if we'd like the child's meal served along with the starters (which worked out very well for a slow eater), sorted out candles on the birthday cake we had brought with us and loaned us a knife to cut the cake. The food was all served quickly, was hot and tasty and everyone enjoyed what they ordered. There was a good family atmosphere and it is clearly popular with the locals. We had a really nice relaxed meal and would like to thank all the staff for their hard work.

Warm welcome and a great place to eat and drink great value for money

We often attend as a family of three with a toddler for food. All the staff are very friendly, the food comes quite quickly and is tasty too.

Came for my son’s 7th birthday, we are a big family of 9, ordered all the food at the bar with drinks, staff were very helpful and very organised. Including drinks and food it totalled to £110 which I think is fantastic, good quality food, it was amazing, all cooked fast and correct. Will 100% be visiting this pub again. Thank you too all the staff for looking after us and making my sons birthday special!

Been here on more than one occasion. The food is always delicious and reasonably priced, the service is great and always with a smile. Even stayed for the quiz which is on a Sunday evening. Fabulous atmosphere.

Excellent time everytime we come. Never have a problem with food or service. Today we spoke to Louise who was very welcoming and talkative.

Not been to this establishment for a while and sadly it was not a good experience, The food we had was not to a good standard.The fish we had was a grey colour inside. The steak we ordered was over cooked.And the chicken burger was really over cooked.When the server came to clear our table he asked if everything was ok and I told him the problems he never replied and just walked away which I found very rude and unprofessional.

Visted here at the weekend. What a great pub it is. The staff are really friendly and helpful, it was clean and tidy and a great atmosphere. The good was great, I had the mix grill, and I stuffed. We were visiting family, and we will definitely be back again the next time we are down.

8 Months ago I wrote a terrific review, goodness knows whats happened now. Different staff, no one coming mid meal to see how your food is. No mustard, no fish, no fries. The fryer didn't work. I ordered a blue/ rare steak that came to me like shoe leather with rock hard dried up onion ring. The steak was so dry and salty. I hope they sort their self out soon and the Manageress starts being customer focused and friendly as before. We looked forward to coming here as a family every 10 days and felt valued.

A friendly community pub with great food and drink and regulars who welcome all. Bar and kitchen staff are dedicated and very good at what they do. A lovely beer garden for the summer months and a cosy, warm interior for the colder times. A pub I would recommend and proud to call my local.

We love this as our local. It's possibly one of the best pubs in the area. The food is pub quality with deals Monday to Thursday.

Came in today for a meal with my other half! Been coming here for years and definitely wasn’t the best service nor food! I had a chicken burger with cheese. Didn’t come out with cheese so got sent back to then receive it again with cheese on it. It was not melted so just a square! I then found a hair in my chips so I sent back to the bar and explained the issue. The lady that dealt with me, took my plate into the kitchen and said nothing so I walked away. She then came back with my meal (that I didn’t want) however I felt pressured into eating it! When received my meal back the lady said “the kitchen staff have added an extra piece of cheese” this was burnt so tasted burnt! I didn’t get offered a free drink, a free dessert nor half my money back for the meal! My other half then ate his so half of it got left!

Decent food, very reasonably priced. I suggest at least another one cask, hand-pulled ale. The traditional beer selection is very limited.

We had a great day out, spent time in both the lounge and the sports bar. The staff are really friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them, the drinks are also very reasonably priced. Will definitely be visiting again.

This has become a great pub under current ownership. Pool, darts and Sky Sports in the bar. Great value food menu; food is served everywhere but there is also a nice separate area in the lounge. Staff very friendly and know how to treat customers properly. Heated patio area and good pub garden to the front. Sheltered smoking area to the back (probably more of a.vaping area these days). Children are welcome with Kids' menu colouring in and games. Welcoming atmosphere and we'll worth a visit.

This was my old local when living in Bessacarr, so it was nice to return. Not a lot has changed, still good beer and the menu is also appealing.
