Steak night and a drink was excellent value for money, steak was tender and delicious

Been today for lunch as usual it was great . Had gammon and my husband had vegetable curry Both meals were extremely good.and Jade looked after us brilliantly ,a big thank you Jade nothing a problem .and Jill who is a great manageress ,and also the chef who cooked it to perfection.

Lovely pub though dated could do with some tlc. Staff were very helpful and the food was delicious

I called to enquire about a takeaway meal for my parents as due to my Dad being housebound they can no longer come to Hatfield's. The staff were amazing, cooking our order, plating on our plates which I took in and wishing my parents well. Thank you so much, this one small thing made their day 😀

Went out for a meal with the family, we all had burgers and we really enjoyed it. The staff were so helpful with our order and the atmosphere was so lovely. We will be planning another trip here with the family soon!

We had a large party of 24 and the staff were amazing! The food is typical Marston food, but there was not one complaint from our party. We had some 30% off vouchers which made the whole event really worth the visit. Thank you!

The restaurant was clean and bright, it had a nice atmosphere, the staff were friendly and the food was hot and fresh. A very positive first time visit.

We dine here at least twice a month, but the food hasn't been at its best. Fore of use dined here Sunday and at least 3 dishes weren't up to par. We had 1 steak far too rare, it was shocking, 1 that we asked for very well done (burnt) that was pink in the middle, and a roast beef dinner. The beef was fatty and chewy. We have actually booked Hatfields function room for our wedding reception this year, but we are definitely thinking about cancelling that and looking elsewhere. Very disappointing from a place we love to visit. I received a message from there manager asking me to email them, so I did and had no response. Customer care seems as bad as there food. Will be cancelling our wedding reception here.

Good food and service service was very nice the employees were nice and not mean really liked were we sat and didn’t wait to long for food.

It was OK. Nothing special, cheap ingredients. Mushrooms and peas had seen better days. It filled us up, so job done.

We met friends for Sunday lunch, it was 4 adults and 2 teens. Some if us had the Sunday lunch and some chose off of tge other menu, all meals were lovely, my vegetarian Sunday lunch was really nice and my son was super impressed with his fish and chips. Staff were friendly and helpful, food was great and environment was lovely.

The food was OK but nothing special. My daughters pasta was watery. The staff were friendly. It could do with redecorating as it looked very tired and grubby. The beer was warm.

Poor service, only one person on the bar. ordered cheeseburger & chips, what I got was slimy lettuce & hard piece of what I could only guess was the cheese & 2 dry meat patties. 11.85, unfortunately didn’t save the picture to show the quality of what was served. Won’t be going back.

Lovely staff, very helpfully. All areas kept clean and tidy. Food well presented and hot. Very reasonable prices.

Been going over the last few weeks and has been ok. They need to get extra staff especially on a Friday night. The starter came without plates or cutlery and we had to ask and then had to wait while the waitress spoke to her friend. Then it was that rushed the cutlery was literally thrown at me. The mains weren't as nice as they normally are, then we ordered some drinks from the table and waited about half an hour and we left before they arrived. I really understand that they were busy and it was quiz night but they need more staff.

I cannot fault a single thing about our evening. Firstly, I booked a table online which I didn’t realise hadn’t been confirmed until we turned up, but they managed to get all 13 of us seated. Secondly, it was extremely busy. We took a while to order with us being a big group with children, and we were made aware that there could be a wait for the food. It came a lot quicker than I expected. Finally, we had meals that had things removed and things added, steaks asked to be cooked differently. Everything came out perfect. All steaks cooked as asked. All food came out as asked (fussy children). And everything was piping hot. We cannot complain. It was also quiz night, the atmosphere was great. Not a quiet night by any means, but we thoroughly enjoyed our night, as we do every time we attend Hatfields. All staff were lovely, even though they were rushed off their feet.

Staff brilliant, very friendly and attentive. Good meals and with 30% off vch Good value, however .. ... you could do with a lick of paint to spruce up the place looking a bit tired and getting scruffy.

Nice environment, friendly staff, food service efficient, the price was reasonable and the very generous meal was lovely. Fantastic Yorkshire pudding!

Enjoy Hatfields. Only complaint is don’t offer light bites ie jacket spuds after 3pm.

Exceptional advice when booking and a good selection and plenty of food on the day. No rush to move our party out of the room after which they moved to the bar dining area where they finished the day drinking.

Where do I start, we go to Hatfields most Sundays for our dinner and the food is excellent along with the waiting staff members but yesterday 10th March 2024 (Mother’s Day) was absolute chaos. From walking in the bar area which was full of people queueing, trying to order food and drinks and people trying to find out where they were sitting it was crazy. There was no organisation or order in the bar area it was like a massive free for all. After getting our seats and I can appreciate that it was Mother’s Day so it was extra busy but surely this should have been planned for better. The staff are amazing it was just poorly unorganised. Eventually we ordered our meal it took 45 minutes for the starter to arrive then we waited 1 hour for our main meal which is disgusting. Everyone was moaning and complaining which spoiled the atmosphere of Mother’s Day. The staff that looked after us at front of house were excellent as always but the kitchen should have been more organised. It has spoiled my day and is frustrating because I know Hatfields is an amazing place to eat.

Chicken tikka masala far too ‘spicy hot’ and lacked any flavour. Eaten because I was hungry but was not really enjoyable. Double cheeseburger was over cooked, dry and chewy. Just one burger with a melted cheese slice and the fries got eaten with the second burger, lettuce leaf and whole bread bap wasted. Husband politely told the waitress it was disgusting and the worst pub meal he’s ever had.

The staff are very freindly and helpfull cannot praise them enough. The food has improved recently more tasty and plentiful. If any fault is the plates dont get cleared away once we have finished.

The staff have gone above and beyond for us today, making our Sunday perfect...

We visited Hatfields for a family get together as they can always accommodate large parties well.food was served quickly and was hot and tasty great value for money the lady even took our order at the table

Two of us came for Sunday Roast. The Beef was very fatty, we couldn't eat a great deal of it. The rest of the meal was OK. No one came to check how we were with our meals and no one came to take our plates away before we left, hence this review. Won't be back.

A young man was taking our plates and chatting to us throughout the evening ,he was very pleasant and accommodating and had a joke with us upon leaving . The waitress that served us our meals was not as good and basically dumped our napkins and cutlery on the table and did not even speak . The young man however we all commented that had been out how lovely he was

Had my wedding reception here.. Mandy and her team did a stunning job of the decorations absolute floorless.. and the buffet out of this world definitely would recommend.

Had numerous meals here and have had a few events here, Parents wedding reception was here a few years ago, and now my wedding reception here in july. Mandy is fantastic, nothing is too much trouble. Super helpful and so friendly. A variety of different option to suit everyones taste. Definitely recommended!!

We held our grandads wake here on 07/02/24. We were fortunate enough to have my grandad in our lives for a lot of happy years until the ripe old age of 94! Although we knew he was a very well liked gentleman, being 94 we were also aware a lot of his friends by this age had passed away. So we under estimated just how many people we needed to cater for. It turned out we needed to cater for an extra 30 people to what we had expected to. All I want to say is that the staff were absolutely fantastic!!! They whipped out extra tables and chairs quickly, extra hot buffet food literally at the last minute. All the buffet food was really good, the room was lovely, and like I said, the staff were wonderful. So friendly and kind. Would definitely recommend Hatfields for a private function. Thank you to the staff for being so wonderful!!! Keep up the good work x

I can honestly say it is always a pleasure to visit this place. Not only is the food out of this world, cooked really well, never over or underdone, but how you'd expect a decent meal you'd pay for, and that includes all the meals ive ever had at Hatfields. The staff always work so hard at making you feel so welcome. There's always a please and thank you at every greeting from then, a smile, and despite how busy they are, they always make sure to ask how you are and make the effort to make you feel welcome. I would definately recommend this place to everyone and anyone, because of all the above. Keep up your hard work Team Hatfields. We all really appreciate it. Thank you 🙂👍

Fab, down to earth friendly staff and management, food always good, great drinks choices and prices. My only criticism is that it could do with redecorating and tidying up to attract more customers. Management try everything to get customers through the door and that should be applauded

Pub very tired and dirty. Staff scruffy Steak were both like rubber and chewy did mention it at the time but that all . Went to the loos and it was like stepping back in time to the early 90s . This is how bad it was we even had a 30% off I bet we weren't the only ones and it was so empty. The place could be brilliant if you had the right management and staff and money spent on it . Every time you ask us to fill out a review we tell you about all these things like this but you don't do anything to resolve it. All special been removed that's when it started to loose money think about it . This is free advice please take notice of it 🙏 🙂 James and Leanda Howard

There were six of us and all the meals were absolutely delicious. The staff were very friendly and polite and the service was flawless. It was prompt and hot. The new menu is very good. We will definitely be visiting again soon.

We have just used the function room at Hatfields. Gill and all her staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble in the planning of our event. On the day Charlotte was our bar staff and she was brilliant. Again always helpful polite and good humoured. The food was excellent, prices were good and although we stayed longer than expected Charlotte never let on or pushed us out. I would highly recommend Hatfields as a venue for any event. Thank you Hill and all your staff.

Food was excellent, bar staff extremely accommodating and friendly. Would definitely come again. Birra moretti was good, Peroni wasn’t exactly as good as it normally is though.

This was ok but spoilt because the place needs a makeover. Freshly decorated, repairs carried out and fresh seating. All would help make this a fabulous pub again.

This was a buffet lunch after a family funeral. The food was of excellent quality and plentiful. The staff were efficient and helpful.

I booked a table in advance because it was new year day had to pay a deposit for each family member we was greeted with sit where you want I asked for a same level table as we all use walking sticks then I had to go to bar to order drinks and take them back to table there was no menu we had come for the festive menu I am a coliacs so needed a gluten free menu we ordered my king prawn cocktail the bread had been frozen then microwave to be defrosted so it had been over done as the bread was hard my husband had cheesy mushrooms it was heavily peppered the main meal was a turkey dinner well it was very bland the parsnips were as though they had been part boiled then a quick flash in a pan or grill the 4 roast potatoes were heavily seasoned with rosemary the sprouts were frozen not fresh and the turkey had a weird taste the pig in blanket was colourless and tastless as was the 1 ball of stuffing the pudding was again microwaved as was warm in places and cold in other places we wont return again

Booked here for Christmas day with our family. Service was OK. However, the food was left lacking. Very overpriced for the quality and quantity, understanding that it is Christmas, and you should expect to pay more than usual. However, it should be edible, not undercooked. Very disappointed as we ve eaten at hatfields in the past and it's been brilliant. Prices for the day considerable higher than last year for less courses and no welcome drink upon arrival. Very little Christmas atmosphere,which was sad as it would have been nicer for the kids. Come on, Hatfields, please get back to your usual standard that you ve always been renowned for.

We’re met with happy faces as is normal, and were shown to our table immediately which was good as we had my parents as part of our party and they can take their time these days. Most of our food was great but the steaks that were part of the mixed grill were inedible, neither could be cut with a steak knife which was disappointing as the rest of the meal was good.

Food was served quickly, nice and hot. There were 4 of us and everything came together. Waiting staff very friendly Cheerful lady behind the bar advising us about different gins.

Ordered x2 burgers that came almost immediately. We thought how have they cooked them this fast. We soon found out they clearly hadn't. Rock hard and dry. Sent them back and they returned the same burger and fries that were cold that I'd put vinegar on got a refund will not be eating there again

Booked table,but wasn't ready,had to wipe my table before use. My starter had a human hair included. The member of staff who gave us the cutlery was rude and just shoved the tray on the table with no word, The overall meal was average to poor.

As a big group of 17 It was amazing. The food was excellent and staff were very friendly. Nothing was any trouble and could recommend anyone to come here

We visit here regularly, the food is not fancy but it's always good. The staff are very friendly and obliging. Particular favourite is the fish and chips which are better than the very expensive ones you can get in Whitby.
