We love Weetons. we love the food, the staff the ambience. We are regular customers. We have recently reserved a table on two occasions for Sunday lunch. On both occasions the table has been reserved in the diary but on both occasions our booked table has not been reserved / was not available when we arrived at the time of booking. On both occasions another table was fortunately available and we enjoyed our meal…. But the table booking system - using the paper diary- does not seem to wirk

Downward trend in my view in terms of food selection. I think they have difficulty in deciding exactly what they should give the customer. Service is friendly but staffing level is based on economics and not customer needs. More attentive staff with a modicum of extra effort would really cut waiting time for a take-out coffee for example. Not the place I regularly introduced my visitors to a few years ago.

We ate in the cafe of the new Weetons store ( on the old Crimples site ) a couple of months ago and it was good . We went again today , for Sunday lunch but it was very disappointing. Busy but not heaving by the time we ate. The wait for the food was over half an hour and there was no warning of this . My beef roast was average at best . The beef ( one slice) was rare but not that tender . The food was lukewarm and the veg a bit tasteless with a hard parsnip and dried up roast potatoes . My husband had the veg option which he said was ok but the portion of the butternut squash wellington was small . Certainly would not eat on a Sunday again and expensive for the quality

This place has really changed since the pandemic, particularly the Restuarant side of things. They are painfully slow, coffee arrives cold and dont even think about sitting outside if you’re on a tight schedule. I waited 16 minutes for a coffee to be delivered just last Monday. This was spectacularly bad. Sunday lunch at Weetons Foodhall Pannal. Over £10 for a glass of Malbec served in a glass clearly straight from the drying cycle of the dishwasher. Then a 490 minute wait for the roast beef Sunday lunch at just a shade under £20. When is arrived it was clap cold, not Luke warm but c lap cold. It was returned uneaten. To be charging these prices and knocking out food a Toby carvery would be embarrassed by is bad enough butthe “manager” hid out of the way and left the young waitress to deal with the situation was disgusting. Not only is this terrible customer service it is unfair on the junior staff. We won’t be going back and would suggest others give it a miss too. Bad days happen but how this situation wa(n’t) dealt with has left me more angry than the dining experience.

Went to the snug as we had 2 dogs with us, and couldn't go in the restaurant. The only available table had dirty crockery and cutlery on it. As there was no move by anyone to clear it, my husband asked for a tray to clear it ourselves. This offer was declined, but it still took quite a few minutes for anyone to come over. We then ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches, to be told they were finished. So my husband chose 2 sausage rolls and I ordered soup. The sausage rolls arrived first, microwaved within an inch of their lives. After eating the first, he returned the second and asked for one not to be heated up. It came, and was adequate, by no means the best he'd had. There was still no sign of my soup, so we had to ask again, and was then told it would be another 5 minutes. It eventually came, and again it was adequate, but I'd be hard pressed to say what flavour it was. And the bread that came with it had, once again, been microwaved within an inch of it's life. Overall, poor and we won't be coming back.

On a very soggy day we left the Great Yorkshire Show early and decided to stop by in Harrogate and grab a takeaway lunch. Weetons looked extremely appealing from the kerbside but what a disappointing offering of takeaway lunch items. A very pleasant staff member pointed us to a refrigeration unit where in her own words the sandwiches were not particularly inspiring! She was so right; we chose a ham salad sandwich, a chicken tikka with mango chutney sandwich and a sausage roll with drinks. The sandwiches were bland and lack lustre, the sausage roll ok. In a store which is so beautifully laid out with an abundance of tempting food delights much better could be done to offer more original, fresh and tasty sandwich options.

Each week a group of us go to what was Crimple and is known as Weetons Leeds Road, sometimes we are 4 sometimes 6 or 8. When it was Crimple we just got used to the cold welcome, then it changed name to Weetons Leeds Road. For a while there was a warmer welcome but today we waited 45 mins for breakfast - accompanying drinks had gone cold. When breakfast arrived the poached eggs and the bacon were cold and this week we were give only one slice of toast for the same price as last week when we had two for scambled eggs. When I told the Manager of this, there was a passive aggressive unfelt sympathy which led me to believe that regular local customers are not valued at all. Shame.

We’ve shopped here before and enjoyed the staff in the grocery area so tried the restaurant for brunch. It was bad from start to finish - the hostess was cold and not caring, it took a long time to have our order taken, not good service just the bare minimum. Over half an hour to get our coffee which came lukewarm and after our food was on the table. Loved the open kitchen idea, the staff in there were very busy and working hard but seemed to be in a different pace to that of the front staff who were in no rush. The food was nice, not very large portions except the cake. Cake was odd - ordered two slices, one was huge and one was tiny. Same price? Frosting was very sickly and very gritty. Overall just not a great experience and you’d expect the service to match the quality of the food and produce. Then, we popped to the shop to get some bits in to make up for it, and have come home with what we have now found to be very mouldy produce. How this can happen is beyond me , and cost my £2.50 for it ! It’s a shame as this is not something I can say has occurred when I’ve eaten or shopped at a chain.

I emailed 26th December, I didnt expect a reply over Christmas, but they didn't answer until 3rd January. I was informed that it had been damaged and they would send another one. Too late then as Christmas had gone, if they had replied earlier it could have been for a birthday gift for the 30th Dec, but again too late for that! Whilst I appreciate that Christmas is a busy time I feel it's pretty awful service to be told they had been busy and few got missed! I would assume if you offer a christmas hamper service you should be able to deliver them pre christmas and if there are any issues contact the customer. The fact that I had to chase them and no one contacted me to inform me it was damaged is bad service. Such a shame as they look lovely but this was my first experience and will be my last. We paid £37 for two full English breakfasts, a flat white, pot of tea and an orange juice. We were very underwhelmed. Whilst it’s certainly not cheap it was all the more expensive due to the low quality of what we received. The tomatoes were poor quality and lacking in flavour, burnt bacon, a lacklustre poached egg (the yolk was runny to be fair), cold beans, lukewarm toast, cold black pudding. The food must have been sat for some reason before it came to the table. The deli has lots of good produce however sadly this didn’t translate across to the kitchen. The menu looks diverse to me so I am sure there must be other options that are better than the full English breakfast but I won’t be returning in a hurry to find out.

Absolutely shocking service. Had a hot pot of tea spilled into my lap and all down my clothes onto the floor, was given blue roll to clean it up (myself) apology not offer to help me (this tea belonged to the previous customer as we had asked twice in 20 mins for them to clear the table. We were then asked to make space on a table full of the previous customers left overs for the manager Sophie to put down the cups of tea for us, all whilst I was cleaning the tea from my clothes and bag and the pool to tea under the table on the floor whilst the staff watched. Went to pour the tea only to find 3 out of 4 of the cups we were given had not been washed and were dirty, asked the manager for fresh ones, got attitude and rudeness for asking why this had happened... then to top it off someone came over to tell us the cake my aunty had ordered and paid for wasn't even in stock!! Had to get a refund and would only refund to a card even though it was a cash purchase. Ended up leaving with a full trouser leg full of tea as I was not offered any help from the staff to help dry them and went outside into -3* temperatures!! To say this is the most shocking service I have EVER encountered was an understatement. Spoke to the manager as I was clearly very frustrated about this, her response was "well you can see how busy we are can't you" and when I began to get annoyed with her response to my complaint she wanted me to leave!!! Came with a friend for lunch and was not disappointed. My roast beef sandwich was delicious and excellent value for money. The staff were friendly and pleasant. There is need for more shop floor and restaurant staff. Some beautiful Christmas decorations for sale too ... I couldn't resist!!

Found this shop while we were walking around and decided to give it a go. It was close to closing time but let us inside anyway which was nice. We bought few local products which were very reasonable. We only visited the shop part but it was very nice with a lot of choices.

We only bought a few things here and did not visit the cafe. The store is beautifully designed and the goods are presented very attractively. The employee at the checkout was nice and friendly.

Visited today to stock up our fridge and freezer with lots of teats as we have become bored with the regular supermarket food. The ready meals at two for £12 are an absolute bargain, our favourite being the lamb tagine and the salmon linguine. The butchers counter and delicatessen are full of unique and speciality products. We justified our 90 mile round trip with a delicious Sunday lunch. Although the cafe was very busy the staff were very obliging, attentive and proficient.

I visited Weston’s in Leeds today and came away shocked at how amazing the service was. I was present with a large selection of beautiful food and drink. The cakes in particular took my eye. I asked what one of the ingredient was and was then presented immediately with a piece of said cake to try. It was lemon honey and bergamot and I would highly recommend it. I chose to buy a slice along with another and asked if I could take a small piece of the sample slice for my friend to try. I was told to just take the whole thing and enjoy it. I came away having had a wonderful experience not only with my purchases but with food to share with my friend. I look forward to visiting again.

The last two or three visits to Weeton’s cafe have been unremarkable but this was terrible. Their version of a club sandwich was burnt toast a mass of ham and turkey virtually no mayo or tomato but the lettuce was ok. If you wanted a dry meat fest then this was for you. When asked if everything was ok I told them what I thought. An apology yes but no offer of a refund or anything else but to be fair to the 16 year olds running the place they would not have the authority. Here lies the problem at Weeton’s no sign of a manager. My fault really I should have sent it back but I was hungry and didn’t want an even longer wait than I had endured to start with. Plenty of better places eg Manna in Coldbath Rd.

No service Expected to wait in a cue whilst the only barista prepared coffee etc for others. No cash taken, useless as I only had cash due to a lost card. We walked out. Very poor way to run a business.

I’m pretty disappointed to be giving a one star review as I enjoy the food and deli, but the service I have received was terrible. Management need to clarify the take-away/eat-in situation at the deli counter. I have often ordered a drink and coffee from the cafe, and then a deli item to eat with my drink. I have been doing this for quite some time as the deli items are lovely. Sometimes staff allow this and occasionally they do not. When they do not allow this, the staff humiliate you, gossip about you while you are eating, and create an awkward atmosphere. I can see from another reviewer that this situation has occurred before, with the service being rude, abrupt, and passive aggressive. I could quite easily eat my deli item on the stray and not spend a further £7 on drinks, but I like the shop. I would also happily pay an eat in charge, but the staff do not ever make that clear or do not offer it. It’s not like I have brought a deli-item from another shop and eaten it inside their cafe, but they do behave that way! The staff create a song and dance about you eating their own deli-items which are 2ft away from the cafe tables. Management need a clear policy, as this situation keeps arising. Why not introduce a proper eat in charge policy, instead of berating customers for wanting to enjoy your deli produce. I had communicated this to the staff; however, this complaint was not being taken seriously. This whole experience is such a shame, as I’ve been coming for years and supporting this local business. If you want an accommodating farm shop with excellent service and good produce head to Fodder near Sainsbury’s. NB: I would like to add that the cafe inside was empty at lunch time, so there was no need for the service to be abrupt and rude. I could easily forgive poor service when it’s busy, as it’s hard running a busy shift.

Always great quality produce and lovely coffee. Sit outside if you’ve got time , watch the world drive by and look over the stray. Sit inside and grab some food to eat or some cake, all good options.

We have been here many times before but not for a while so not sure if the owners or staff have changed? The food and service was always excellent in the past so we decided to take friends visiting for lunch. The food did not seem to be as good quality or cooked as well as previously. Our drinks came quite a while before our food and were not piping hot and seemed to go cold quite quickly so were finished well before our food arrived. We had an item of food missing which we had to chase up. The staff seemed quite young and new so although very polite and pleasant there was not much interaction with them and they looked a bit lost. Not sure we will be returning as a result.

Fantastic service by young waiter, Sam who gave the best service I received in all the places I visited during 5 days in Yorkshire (that includes Betty’s!). Nothing was too much bother and he kept me updated with information as I waited for my order. His recommendation of the club sandwich for my takeaway to 2 hungry male colleagues was perfect.

Popped in for a drink and some tea whilst staying at Harrogate Showground. Food was superb served with delicious home made chips. We had steak pie with fresh vegetables and chicken skewers the gravy on the steak pie was phenomenal and the chicken was tender and juicy. We usually visit two or three times a year and we have never been disappointed.

Walked for 3 miles to visit for a drink and food. Arrived at 12.20 on a Sunday (opens at 12) and not a soul in sight. The whole place was closed and we couldn't find any information online as to why. There was a large group of others waiting to get in who also didn't understand. Tried to phone and nobody answered.

Had lunch at the Coach ordered food and drinks at the bar disappointed to be charged ten percent service when we carried our own drinks to the table and the waiter only brought the the four plates of food. Contacted Provenance Inns who own the Coach the lady on the phone was not very accommodating.
