Really pleasant restaurant. The fish and chips was a very hearty feed and super fresh, kudos on the olives too they were really good! The waiter was super helpful and friendly which made a massive difference too, my only point would be that the batter was slightly plain, a bit more flavour would really have made this meal complete

The outside appearance of the restaurant is a little odd but don’t be put off. We received a warm welcome, at my request they fixed me an outstanding Vodka Martini, the food was sublime, the fish beautifully cooked and the wine excellent. I even opted for a dessert which I normally wouldn’t do. I would thoroughly recommend.

First time and unfortunately the last. The food was average and to be honest we'd had better fish in most the pubs in Hastings . Whilst there 2 other people complained about rudeness of I think one of the staff that really made the whole atmosphere bad. We wanted to try this restaurant as we'd heard a while ago it was very good but maybe that was a while ago. Even little things like it was meant to be a fish restaurant and we didn't even get fish knives. This didn't matter to me we are not that bothered but really bad for what's meant to be a top restaurant.

Visited recently as a couple-asked to move to a more comfortable table as there were a few empty tables set for two. Was told that we couldn't as they were booked. They were still available when we left. Didn't feel welcome the whole time. Service was poor.

Perfect experience! The service is so perfect. French fries are much better than London, and grilled sea bass is more appetising than fish and chips.

Friday Fish and Chips is definitely a no here. Chips were like cardboard and the fish so wet it made the batter soggy. Drinks expensive too.

Yet again a fabulous lunch such wonderful, great value dishes, fish gorgeous Food exceptional, service fab young waiters efficient and attentive Honestly one of the best meals we’ve had for months ! We’ll be back very soon

Amazing dinner at Webbes this weekend. Group of 7 ladies and we each ordered something different, but all commented how tasty and fresh the food was. I had the Panache of seafood which was simply delicious and cooked to perfection. The service was outstanding with the two young lads professional and with great attention. Food was served quickly and drinks were flowing. The manager also took time to talk to us and find out where we were from. Only small comment was being by the door felt a little chilly (despite a screen) - suggest maybe some double glazing if possible? Will 100% recommend this great restaurant.

Wonderful food and service. The seafood is so fresh and full of flavor. We ate there one night and asked if the could make a Manhattan - gave them the idea and they not only did it but made it very well. Loved the place so much we came back the next night, and the served us "the usual" - great sense of humor.

Fresh seafood, great staff, relaxing atmosphere. Everything you want in a restaurant and nothing you do not. We found the people who work here to be the nicest and most sincere of any place we have been. The food is delicious, fresh and beautifully served. A must I you are in Hastings.

Good meal, I’d personally like the Hastings Fish Stew to have more in the way of actual fish in it. One prawn and two small pieces of white fish along with some Mussels isn’t enough for that price point in my opinion. The mixed smoked fish sharing board was very nice.

First visit with my elderly cousin, staff extremely friendly helpful and nothing was too much trouble, food was delicious and excellent value will definitely go again, without the cousin.

Seafood was great. Fish & chips is required improvement.

Great find. Visited on recommendation. As a fish/seafood lover, the choice was excellent. Went with the seafood linguine, which was gorgeous. You can just tell the fish is just so fresh, and there was plenty of it. All your favourites for the dessert selection. It was very busy for a Thursday evening, which says something. Friendly and quick service.

Had a big family celebration here at the weekend. Éverything was great. We pre chose as there were alot of us and each course came out at the same time so we were all enjoying our meal together despite the many different choices. The food was excellent and the service was super friendly. Very reasonably priced too. Would definitely recommended

Lovely food, very reasonable and friendly helpful staff! We had taster dishes as a starter. I had a seafood panache, and my girlfriend had the hake. House white was actually really nice, too! It's definitely worth a visit. Update: Came back a few years later for a birthday lunch. Seafood Panache again for me, seafood linguine for her! Reasonably priced, high quality! Once again, I loved it!!

Visited on Sunday (I’ve been many times before). The food was excellent but unfortunately the waiter was very impolite. Which overall made it a bad experience.

We saved visiting this one for a special occasion. So my husband's birthday was today and we booked easily. The linguine was good apart from overcooked, tough, squid that tasted like white rubber bands! My husband asked the waitress what cajun spice tasted like and she didn't know but said she'd ask the chef but he didn't know. So we googled it and showed her a beautiful, illustrative explanation. These Cajon chips were almost inedible as they were so salty. Sad. We had such high expectations. Won't be back

The food was delicious, except for the leg of lamb, the service was very good. The food was very quickly served, as I thought the main dish would take some time especially the leg of lamb, next time will ask the main to be served after we finish our starter.

This is a must visit for any seafood lover. Myself and my wife had oysters and five of the taster dishes as a starter and they were all superb. For main we had the steamed fish panache and the Hake. Having visited Rick Stein’s a few months before I can honestly say Webbe’s is better hands down for service atmosphere and pricing. Will be back again if ever in the area

Sorry I didn’t get an outside picture. Rock-a-nore street in Hastings is where the fishing fleet is drawn up onto the beach. It is the UK’s largest beach based fishing fleet, and on the road, the expected collection of purveyors of fish. This restaurant appears at the higher end of the market, though prices remain competitive across the board. They were doing Lobster on the special menu and it looked to be exceptionally good value. I had Lemon Sole but most of my companions had the obligatory Cod and chips. The Lemon Sole was delightfully delicate. The maitre d was also a kindly person and very good humoured Nice atmosphere and recommended for a fishy experience

Loved the fish and chips. The best ever. My partner had the hake and thoroughly enjoyed it. Glad they could fit us in on a busy Sunday

Visited Weɓbes for my wife's birthday, the meal was delicious, the drinks were lovely, and the service was 10/10, we will definitely be coming back, and I would thoroughly recommend Webbes as a superb restaurant 👍🏻

A brilliant afternoon. Webbes Rockanore catered for 8 of us. We all chose starters and mains. A mix of seafood, tempura and smoked fish starters followed by lamb shanks, steak and seafood mains. Absolutely gorgeous. All plates fresh, plentiful, tasty and delicious. I’d easily recommend this as a destination for families, solos and couples. The service is friendly, efficient and food quality high. A brilliant afternoon sipping wine in the sunshine. Highly recommend.

Just managed to reserve a table in this wonderful restaurant. This is the place to be for fish dishes. We sat near the kitchen and enjoyed the smells and activities. Very tasty starters and bites to share. Top level cuisine, fairly limited menu with sufficient choice. Everything super fresh - fish market opposite. No stress and pressure once you sit at the table. Everyone can enjoy it in peace! Top staff with a lot of attention. Price-quality very above standard, including the wines. Do not hesitate.

Everything we ate there was delicious! Service top! It is advisable to make a reservation by phone as the restaurant is often fully booked.

Quite racist place, we were 4 Asian girls waiting to be served for like 25 mins ( but there are white people coming after us and get served way earlier than us) we have to call them several times and they insinuated like we can’t understand English. We requested an indoor table (where there is more than 3) initially rejected and said we have to come back around 5 hours later to be seated inside (but there are lots of people sitting inside) after we sit outside for like 15 mins they finally moved us inside.

Certainly the first address in the area. Very well maintained, good service and the food was all very good

Another great lunch at Webbe’s in Hastings. Really friendly and welcoming staff with a smile and easy going but efficient approach. The menu is varied -something for everyone-the fish is always so fresh and is served up piping hot !! Wine list is small but reasonably priced. We went yesterday for lunch one of the busiest days of the year in Hastings as it was Pirate Day The quality of the food and the brilliant service was not compromised one bit !! One of my favourite restaurants on the South coast .

It has been a while since I last had lobster but I do not recall it being tough and chewy. So I checked on Google today and it said if the lobster is overcooked it will be tough and chewy. Not good for a place that offers cooking lessons. I won't be eating there again any time soon. If you go there avoid the lobster.

Really enjoyed our food, lovely and fresh. We had an all seafood meal but they do serve other dishes. We had 3 corses and oysters and thought the bill very reasonable.The young gentleman who served us was attentive and chatty when spoken to. Would not hesitate to recommend.

Webbe’s Rock-a-Nore is one of the best restaurants I've dined at in England. The freshness of the fish and the quality of service are exceptional. Despite being a two-hour drive from London, it's worth the trip just to eat there. Be sure to make a reservation before you go..

Sat outside under the shelter near front windows of restaurant due to a) having our small dog with us and b) the perishing seagulls dive bombing on the terrace of restaurant next door. The waitress that greeted us and took our order was very pleasant. The chap that delivered our fish and chips was very jovial and friendly too. I have to say that the food was utterly scrumptious and service excellent. We are on holiday in East Sussex and highly recommend this restaurant.

Ate here last week. The size of the fish portion was so small we were really surprised and the chips were not crisp. A very disappointing meal .

We loved our dinner at Webb's so much that we returned the next night. First night we both had sole and the next night we had delicious hake with potatoes and chorizo. The cod croquettes were wonderful. The staff welcomed us like old friends. Wonderful restaurant!

You can never go wrong with the seafood pasta, the grilled fish is average, and the shellfish is good!

Absolutely amazing. We order different dishes so we can share and try different recipes... Every one of them surprisingly good, rich on flavours, but aways gentle, avoiding the mistake to overkill the fish whit herbs and souces. Everiting was very well balanced either in the taste and the texture: sweet and sower, spicy and fruity, soft and cruncy.... The service was impeccable, and the bill reasonable

Great lunch for my wife`s birthday wonderful bread and olives to start and then five taster dishes and then we had four starters. Mine was tempura prawns with a chili dip my wife had mussels and the others had a Chowder, as a main I had a steak to die for and my wife had a lamb shank, excellent bottle of wine lovely ice cream dessert, great day out. We highly recommend a visit. Adrian and Annabelle the Hurst Arms in Eastbourne.

Ambience and service were good, seafood linguine was excellent and the fresh oysters were excellent. We personally felt that the other dishes lacked a bit of pizzazz. That's a matter of taste, of course, but overall it was good.

Was introduced to this restaurant in 2019 and Saturday was our annual visit as it's 74 miles from where we live! Was disappointed with our starter (cod croquette) not as good as I remembered but the grilled hake with chorizo potatoes was divine, and so was was the seafood linguine absolutely delicious! Has a great atmosphere and service is excellent. See you next year

Came here on Friday with my partner and young baby. The waitress was extremely rude, she rolled her eyes when I asked for a high chair, as well as the kids menu as our baby had started weaning so wanted to check if there was anything suitable. I also asked for a bowl of hot water to heat up our baby food, to which she answered WHAT? As if i was speaking a foreign language. The service was slow, if you're going to work in the service industry maybe teach your young waitresses how to crack a smile or make customers feel welcome. Not only that but I have severe food poisoning from the Oyster starter I had. Would not return again. The staff really let the restaurant down as well as the food poisoning. I've never been so ill in my life.

Horrible and racist experience - the staff completely ignored us and kept walking pass pretending we weren’t waiting to be seated. When we finally asked, they told us they weren’t serving by one and it was booking only by another whilst other ‘local’ couples were being seated as “walk-in” (we were chatting with them whilst waiting) and were being served. The old male guy inside was very aggressive and the younger one was dismissive. I would not recommend it to anyone - the racist people don’t deserve any form of star or reviews.

Apparently the kitchen is closed before 5:30 pm which completely makes sense as the staff need a break BUT the interesting bit is they pick and choose who is allowed to sit and have a meal despite the staff needing their break. Found it hilarious that the elder gentleman at the till doing the paperwork could barely explain the situation while telling me that i could not be served but sitting another couple down and taking their order (we both were walk-in at the same time) if there are rules then they should be applied to everyone but it gets funny and stupid when you pick and choose who gets to break the rules. Rant over. Just get rid of the stupid rule you can't keep and teach your staff some manners :) defo will not be going back here.

Third time at Webbes, food is very good so reason for visit. Front of house staff need a complete change or change of attitude and need to be a bit more on the ball with clearing plates and taking orders, a bit more politeness would go a long way. Guy who seems to be in charge should be a bit more professional and not appear to try to be funny or over familiar. Experience let down by a 'what ever' attitude

Had lunch there on Bank Holiday Monday - alas I’ve been in bed with severe food poising ever since after eating oysters there as a starter - never been so sick in my life!

Being Italian and having lived here in the UK for over 30 years, I tend to stay away from restaurants that serve Italian food as the majority get it so wrong, and this restaurant is the perfect example of how NOT to serve an Italian dish . Considering that they even advertise cooking classes lol, I’m really shocked that they serve a fish pasta dish drowned in Parmesan cheese. Gino Di Campo would go mental if he had eaten the dish I ordered last night , seafood linguine. At best let the customers decide if they want cheese on this dish but I can assure you that NOWHERE IN ITALY serves a pasta dish with fish with Parmesan cheese. The first bite I took of the prawn was quite hard which then worried me as I don’t really fancy getting food poisoning on my birthday . Hopefully it just wasn’t cooked enough , fingers crossed. My honest impression is that I reckon this restaurant was years ago the place to eat but I think nowadays it’s slipped down a little , shame as from the outside it looks impressive but once you go in it’s actually pretty average, not many seats and not many customers for a Friday night , the paella restaurant down the road was jammed packed with customers. And if you advertise as a fish restaurant then why serve steaks and chicken dishes??? There’s a very good steak house just round the corner so if I wanted one I would go there instead, I would stick to being just a fish restaurant that serves fish and nothing else , let’s face it , due to your location that is you unique selling point. There’s a well known restaurant in Hove that just like you, on the seafront, serves just fish and nothing else and is extremely popular.Service could have been better , overhaul I think the place needs updating , not only food wise . I didn’t fancy eating fish and chips on my birthday hence why I opted for something different , I would have gone for the Sole dish but unfortunately it wasn’t available. Shame as staff were actually nice and friendly . Ciao for now

We had a good lunch today. The fish was nicely cooked. The creme brulee was excellent. The staff were very attentive. Highly recommended.

My two friends and I, who have known each other over seventy four years, meet up from time to time for lunch. My friends travel some distance and we always enjoy coming to Webbe's. We are greeted cheerfully and given plenty of time to order. The staff, and there are plenty of them, are always polite and helpful. We dine well, the bread is flavorsome and sets us up well with the olives. The goats cheese is tasty. The main is always generous in size and tastes so good. The fish is fresh and delicious. We enjoy a good wine to accompany this. If we have enough room left we indulge in a satisfying desert and coffee. The friendly staff keep an eye on us and serve us well. Thank you Webbe's, you never disappoint.

The wonderful Webbes’ staff and chefs hosted a wedding lunch for a family member recently . The excellent food ( all things fish as well as steaks and veggies);the help in pre- planing ;the friendly efficient service on the day; and their kind attention to detail , really helped make this a special occasion . We highly recommend this restaurant to all . Thank you all at Webbes ( and especially the manager).

Sat down in outside seating area. Got completely forgotten about by the waitress, so decided to leave. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy either.

Excellent restaurant. We had a table outside because inside was full but on a warm ish and sunny day that wasn’t a problem. Certainly the service didn’t suffer. It was very good. The food was fresh and well cooked with a good choice on the menu. The Children’s menu was also very good with proper fish fingers. A nice wine list as well. We chose well.

The five types of tasters and two mains are just enough for four people, so delicious 👍😉

We travelled by train from Chichester just to have lunch with you as we've been before and have always had an excellent meal. Again a superb lunch and well worth the journey.

Three of us had lunch, I had sirloin steak with peppercorn sauce, mushrooms and spinach and a side of battered courgette. The steak was the best I have ever eaten and the vegetables complimented it perfectly especially the courgettes. The other diners had the bream with risotto which they thoroughly enjoyed. Delightful desserts of creme brulee and tropical fruit fritters all with ice cream rounded off a perfect meal. We can't wait to go back! The service was good and the atmosphere welcoming.

Visited in July 2023. We came to Hastings for a long weekend and we were craving some of the famous seafood that’s on offer in the town. Webbe’s offer a great selection of dishes in a warm, welcoming environment. We didn’t have a booking but they kindly made space for us. The service was friendly and patient. We sat right the kitchen, so we could see the action - which was exciting. We had a selection of Tasters, which was value for money, plus additional items. Everything was delicious, fresh and hot. It is worth booking during the high season. Highly recommended right bang in the middle of a bustling spot on the sea front.

And the food matched the service, 10 out of 10 amazing, refined and delicious whilst still being brilliantly Brittish. Sooo fresh! Had the tempura prawns and courgette starter which was delicious (it was supposed to have aubergine as well but there was none), my partner had the potted duck which he enjoyed. For mains I had the grilled scallops which were cooked perfectly and my partner had the pheasant which he loved! Service was great! Was a little chilly when we went but apart from that it was lovely!

Can honestly say this is the best meal my husband and I have ever had. The staff were friendly and professional with a good balance of humour. The restaurant itself was comfortable and tastefully decorated. The food was outstanding. Best whelks I have ever eaten and the Seabass with risto tasted amazing! A fantastic choice of seafood and fish dishes but also some great alternatives for those not so keen on fish. We will definitely be back!

We only booked it this morning and was so lucky to get a table as was fully booked and whilst sat there , they must of turned away 20 people at least walk ins .. Our meal was amazing - one of the best seafood restaurant I’ve ever eaten in .. I had the scallops and my husband had the pork belly and both was soo tasty ,. Staff were so friendly , when they asked if we was celebrating anything and I said my husbands birthday - the sweet man that I’m guessing runs / or owns Webbe’s made my husband a birthday card , and also put happy birthday on he’s desert… if we ever return to Hastings we would definitely return here .. we are both a bit snobby when it comes to food and restaurants and this place is worth a visit :)

Beautiful food and very well presented but so rushed! Food arrived almost 10 minutes after ordering. Was exceptionally hot. As soon as plates cleared we were offered dessert. So whilst the food is of good quality the service was disappointing and it was not a particularly relaxing atmosphere.

Such a shame. Ended up vomiting 3 hours after my meal. Amazing staff but unfortunately I threw up my meal and was on the toilet soon after I got home.

Food was delicious and very well presented. Highly recommend if you enjoy seafood. The service was friendly, but sporadic, and we didn't feel that we were well attended to throughout the meal.

This is a hard review to make. The food was really nice and two of the staff were really friendly and knowledgeable regarding the menu. Unfortunately the head waiter was rude and left a bad taste in our mouth,which really ruined what should have been a night of celebration.

Cracking restaurant. Knowledgeable, helpful and friendly staff. Wine list is good. Food was great, though two of our party thought their fish stew should have had more fish flavour. Taster dishes are a good idea if you're not sure what main course to have.

Booked a table for four here on the 30th December 2023 to celebrate my son's return from the navy, we have visited here around 15 times in the last year and normally it's great however the food has taken a complete nosedive. I ordered the sirloin steak which was absolutely appalling with only around 30% of it actually being edible, the rest was fat and gristle. Upon complaining about this and showing the sheer amount I'd left on the plate I was told they'd take the price of a couple of drinks off the cost. Fine I thought until I received the bill and found they'd taken off one small coke and a bottle of water meaning I'd paid around £18 for three bites of steak. Definitely won't be returning.

Outstanding on all fronts. All the staff are welcoming and friendly. They engaged with our daughter making her feel as valued as we did. The food is delicious and the prices very reasonable for such lovely food. We had several of the tasting dishes and a starter which were all amazing. We stayed for pudding, something by which in most restaurants seems to be an afterthought and often not of a standard to match the other food, but weren’t disappointed. My only comment for improvement at all would be to make it possible to tip the fabulous staff when paying your bill via card. Most people rarely carry cash now days and this meant we weren’t able to reward the attentive, friendly and professional staff for their wonderful service.

We'd heard good things about Webbe's and were not disappointed. Friendly helpful service and cosy surroundings. Two of us had the Sea Bass, good flavour crunchy skin accompanied by lovely garlicy prawns and grilled scallops. All on a bed of firm fresh greens and linguine. One had the Plaice, great and a big shout out for the fab mash. Puddings equally good standard. Recommend.
