I was very happy the girl was very nice the food was good just how I like it and compered to other restaurants was cheaper for me I enjoyed it and will go back again 👍

We would not recommend this place to anyone we had a selection of meals we had cod and chips scampi and chips and pie and chips which was all in edable milkshakes were horrible service was not good either. we will never be eating there again.

the curry sauce was like water and had not even been cooked it was tasteless ... the chios were a mixture if frozen chips and the fish was watery and tasteless . worse fish an chips ive ever had in my life

Portions size ridiculous. Battered sausage the same sizes as sausage in kids meal. Large chips was tiny. Pie was rock hard and cold in the middle. It was like pie was put in the microwave. Curry sauce was too watery and no flavour. Very disappointing. Used to go to the fish bowl regularly but now would rather save my money.

Used to love this place, great staff but got my food today waited 20 minutes for a sausage and chips and it's absolutely tiny now, portions have shrunk so much not worth the money now

It was hot on arrival but portion sizes are small for what you pay for. Also missing a can of coke.

The food took forever to arrive, it didn't seem particularly busy as there were empty tables. Cash only, but there is a cash point across from the restaurant.

The food is very tasty however portions are tiny, the kids meal didn’t come with any chips or a drink so was £5.90 for a 2oz cheeseburger on its own.

cod n chips were perfectly cooked. however, the savaloys were a bit blander than usual. they usually have a bit more pepperiness to them

Pleasantly surprised by the newly refurbished restaurant, it has completely transformed a dark and dull eating area into a bright and appealing space. The staff were friendly and the man cooking (assuming the owner) was chatty and welcoming. My fish was cooked beautifully and even had the skin removed as requested. Prices were reasonable and the service was professional. This place often gets overlooked due to surrounding businesses, but it really is a hidden gem. Cannot recommend enough.

Speedy delivery, chips and other bits OK but not great quality, paid £3.60 for a vegetarian spring roll, instead I got the smallest cheese burger I've ever seen in my life, with a bun so over cooked it wasn't edible, received a credit via just eat, but unfortunately will not use again, a very mediocre lunch for £15.

Chips were very hard and the pie was very hard

A very clean place, and a warm welcome from friendly staff. The service was fantastic. The food was delicious. My husband had pie and chips, I had a prawn salad. The salad was beautifully presented with fresh and crispy ingredients. Husband had plenty of chips plus a little side salad with his Pukka pie. The meals and two hot drinks came to just under £20. We were there around 12:30/1pm. There were a few people in there but not too busy. Quite spacious inside but may be difficult with larger aids/wheelchairs. Toilet is upstairs (didn't notice if there was a disabled toilet).

Lovely lunch, cod was perfectly cooked with wonderfully crispy batter and great chips. Good menu, arrived quickly but obviously cooked to order. Our waitress Paige was efficient, cheerful and made our visit an absolute pleasure. Best eat fish and chip restaurant in town and that's saying something in Hastings. We will definitely be returning again and again. Thank you guys!

Me my partner and 2 year old daughter wore waiting for an hour for our food though 3 families came got served, received there food and left before we got ours.

ARRIVED PIPNG HOT. BATTER WAS CRISP,FISH FLAKY AND CHIPS PLENTIFUL [although a little soggy from steam generated by plastic bag dampening paper wrapping]. OTHERWISE VERY TASTY.

We didn’t get our chips!! The main part of the meal… so hubby had just fish and I had vegetable spring roll with salad 🤷🏼‍♀️🤨 disappointing but what we did eat was nice.

Cod was poor quality but edible plus the chips rather dry, plaice was just batter only 10% was fish has to the worst portion of plaice I’ve ever eaten or in this case not eaten

Wow the best Haddock I have eaten in Sussex in the Brighton, Eastbourne, Hastings area the last few experiences have put me off fish and chips but thought I would give it one more try the Haddock was hanging off the plate very good portion size chips were nice it's a large seating area inside the restaurant but the only thing what let it down was the restaurant was cold I had a fleece and hat on a couple sat across from me a lady also had her coat and hat on but the fish hands down the best in the Sussex area I was born in Grimsby, Lincolnshire 50 years ago was one off the biggest docks in the world hence the reason I eat a lot of fish 🎏 😋

Me and my mum were out doing christmas shopping and other things then we went into fish bowl for something to eat,mum had fish and chips I had chicken strips and chips and a cup of tea each food was great service was great.

Food fine- service they've no idea how to treat a paying customer. One waitress in particular needs to leave her attitude at the door before she starts work.

Dropped in for lunch at this restaurant whilst my bike was being MOT’d was expecting Town Centre Tourist Quality and price . However after ordering the small cod and chips and a cup of tea I was impressed with the portion size which was generous and value for the price and excellent quality. The restaurant itself clean and well maintained. It is thoroughly recommended if you get the chance.

The surroundings were very nice but not on the font( we discovered those later!) We had fish and chips and it was good to see a choice of three portion sizes. The downside was the long wait to be served about 40 minutes. It seemed to quicken up after we’d been served with more people in the cafe at that stage so no reason obvious or given for delay.

That food was good and the lady who waited on us could of been like how the good would you like another drink you know checking to see if your alright. Also right outside the restaurant someone was getting arrested what didn't help . Only go there if your really hungry

The Chips 🍟 were Soggy and the Fish 🐟 was supposed to be Large but was Medium and the Batter was also Soggy seems like there using Pre Battered Fish Very Disappointed for the Money paid.

We go regularly here and we are always made welcome, great service and always asking how the food is and always good. Great place to eat they have a variety of different food.

Fantastic food, very accommodating for young children. Fish is always very fresh and great chips to go with it.

I ordered a large Haddock , what i got was two small Haddock whick were over cooked and dry as old shoes.

This place is well price with great food and awesome service. We went as a family of 5, sat outside and were highly impressed.

used to be really good service, went in the other day with family. one meal had been forgotten and when we recieved meals pie was still frozen and we waited ages and no apology, felt when we where given meals plates where flung at us and so was bill. very bad service.

Simple & straightforward fish & chips restaurant in nice environment. Very welcoming staff, fish & chips well cooked, light & non greasy. Bill about £10 a head including a side salad & cup of tea. We were pleasantly surprised to find this cafe after trawling...

Good and fresh food, potatoes are hand peeled and cooked very well, and portions are much larger than you’d think, tidy restaurant and friendly staff, the duty manager, Emma, was helpful and polite, the chefs were friendly and thorough, definitely worth checking out

I used this chippie many times but after last visit I have to change my 5 stars to 3 stars, last time waited for fish and chips to take away for more than 40 min. Not coming back.

My friend and I ordered scampi, chips and sausage here. Since we were catching a bus to Ecclesbourne glen in about twenty minutes and also wanted to buy some food from Macdonald across from this chip shop, so I asked the young chef how long it’s gonna take. He replied me 10 minutes. But when I came back from Mac after 10 minutes, the food was still not ready. I said to him could you hurry up cause we are catching a bus. Then, the young chef started to give me an attitude. When the food was finally ready, he wrapped the food very slackly even didn’t ask do we need salt and vinegar on chips. And threw the food on the counter. Talking about the flavor, I used to work at a chip shop in Bedford, I expected more from a chip shop in Hastings. The chips are good but the sausage is very average, not crispy but limp casing. The owner here (I assume he is) is good, help us chase the food, wearing smile always.
