I am from the Midlands and when I went to buy my drinks I met a fantastic bar tender in Jamie, he was friendly and gave a great service

Looks like it's been refurbished & definitely a lot cleaner than on our last visit. Food quality was good although service was very slow. Makes it hard work when you've got young children with you.

Struggled once booked to get response on phone to add people. But once there they were very accommodating, food was great everyone was hay. Shardae and Clare were fabulous making our evening a success as we had a large booking.

Where do I start? I suppose I'm questioning the wisdom of the lunch menu.As background, this particular restaurant sits on the River Medway, opposite a cinema. There is very limited options to eat anywhere if you going to the cinema in the first place (McDonald's, a Frankie and Benny's and a Turkish Restaurant), and that's it!...there's no shops or offices or anything else in the vicinity. We were going to the cinema to see a film with a start time of 3.10pm, so decided to drop into the Waters Edge for lunch. We looked at the menu at bit perplexed. It listed a lunch menu featuring Bagguetes but only at set times Monday to Friday (this was Saturday). We decided to go in and did ask...and yep no lunch sandwiches etc menu on Saturday only the usual fayre of Burgers/Chips Lasagnes etc...lovely for an evening meal. But not a hot August lunchtime before you see a film. So we settled for a packet of crisps and a larger. This turned a potential sale of approx twenty pounds to a sale of approximately seven pounds..not only does this not economic sense.But also means that we'll make alternative meal arrangements in the future. Therefore denying any future sales.. Who are they catering for lunchtime Monday to Friday as there's no local trade to be had! Ah well, just an observation!

I was in Strood with my wife picking something up and she suggested we go out for lunch as we were already out and about. She suggested the Waters Edge as we were close by. When we got to the restaurant it was virtually empty and we waited by the door, as the sign instructed, to be seated. 10 minutes later and having had a member of staff walk right past us, and the two behind the bar making eye contact, with no acknowledgment whatsoever, we decided to leave and take our business somewhere else local. I'm not normally one for writing reviews, but in a time of financial hardship and with pubs, restaurants and other businesses closing and go bust on a weekly basis, if you treat customers like this, you can see why. Some serious customer service training is lacking in this place. Plenty of other lovely local places to eat, so don't subject yourself to this place.

Lunch was great do think you should be able to order the lunch deals every day instead of just Monday to Friday as some people have small appetites

Stuck in traffic arrived at 7.50pm on a Sunday and coarsely barked at that food was no longer being served Went next door and had the best meal in a long time . We checked our phones alongside another family , not quite 8pm

We have only been here for lunch twice but really made to feel very welcome especially by Clare and Michelle. Both very attentive and always find time to make sure we have the best time possible and our food is delivered quickly, hot and delicious. Restaurant is always clean and inviting so well done to all the staff front of house and behind the scene as it would not work as well as it does with every member of staff working hard. Will visit again very soon.

Called in for dinner after going to the cinema, rude abrupt staff made us decide to leave and get a take away elsewhere, very disappointed

Came here on Sunday and it wasn’t bad but wasn’t great, food was cold and it was a busy day yesterday but still could of made sure the food was hot. Lots of staff in which don’t see very often, lady behind the bar rude as anything and abrupt which unfortunately lets the pub down.

Ffs roast dinner came cold so sent it back, by the time I got a drink it has been microwaved and was back absolutely awful , toilets were disgusting , toilet paper all over the floor , who eats in a place like this ?

Came yesterday for Xmas eve. Lovely service from lovely girls and women. Only downside was didn’t seem enough staff for a Xmas eve period. One lady had to ask us to move because of a “festive booking.” She was lovely and we was fine but just feel for the staff. Didn’t seem a clear management. Lovely food and would definitely return but the staff seemed minimal for Xmas eve!

Horrendous Experience!!!! Family of 6 adults and 1 child. Crammed into a both. A lady by the name of Michelle possibly one of the rudest people at front of house I have ever met. 1 of guests was heavily pregnant and found it better to be sat on a hard chair at the end of the table. Admittedly the chair was borrowed from another table. Only to be told she can’t see there as the table was needed. Over 90 mins later table remaind empty. !!!! Stood at the bar for what seemed a life time behind other customers. When challenging a member of staff (Michelle) I was treated with we are busy. Well all I could see was staff chatting laughing and joking at one end of the bar. This Michelle has to be the rudest most confrontational staff member I have met. Food was like a school kitchen it was food that’s all. Plain boring, lukewarm average portions did not complain at this stage. As already had made a decision. We will never go back.. I’m leaving the site, a lovely lady by the name of Emma confronted us to ask if everything had been okay. It was at this stage. We pointed out the problems that we had with the so-called manager by the name of MICHELLE. . turns out she’s not a section leader. Emma wanted to take my details which I obliged as she was going to get the site manager to give me a call to apologise personally and obviously they would arrange an investigation as it is not the first person to complain about this particular staff member. Two weeks later, still no phone still no email still no concern . Be warned, the attitude of the staff of this place is appalling, and the food is very very below average.

Wasn’t expecting award winning cuisine on our visit however I was expecting hot food! The food was awful in quality and in presentation with some colouring of the food questioning if it was actually cooked! Staff were pleasant however the service was slow with plates of food coming out on staggered stages 5-10mins apart , half the table eating other half waiting. The frustrating thing was our food was pre ordered and the pub wasn’t even busy!!! The pub is sticky and dirty the toilet facilities disgusting and not checked regularly! I feel sorry for the poor member of staff has to fish out the whole toilet roll wedged down the u bend! Sorry but we won’t be coming back to eat with you!

The service was elcoming and efficient but the meals were not! Lukewarm fries and unappetising looking burgers and dreadful microwaved mashed potato and microwaved steak and ale pie with almost unpourable gravy. Generally very poor. A return visit is unlikely!

Went for lunch with family and we had ordered the burger combo the steak was not fit to eat at all when I tasted a piece I had to spit it out as it was off and then smelt it and it was not pleasant, the corn on the cob looked like it had been left over from the day before… service is terrible

We always go here once a month me and my mum. We have never experienced anything other than perfect food and perfect service. Clare who waited our table the last two times we have visited made our visit enjoyable, she is always smiling even when rushed off her feet and is only too happy to assist you anyway she can. We visited after the cinema that is right opposite. Booking is recommended as they seem to turn people away that hadn’t booked. Zoe was our waitress who was very polite. The food was cooked very well, come to the table hot and in very good time. Prices were reasonable. The only down side is the restaurant is a bit cold.

Food a bit poor but lots of it and not expensive. The junior staff were helpful and friendly but the more senior were short tempered and grumpy even though the pub half empty. Important rules like no under 18s on the pool table were enforced with great enthusiasm ensuring as little fun was had as possible

Staying at Premier Inn across road only went in as the hotel restaurant was full. Glad we did. Food and service were great. We have 3 kids and staff member Clare managed to find us a spot even though they were busy and we hadn’t booked. When seats right next to the play area became free Clare was able to move us closer upon request. Kids had fun and food was tasty and locals were friendly giving us info about surrounding area.
