Water Mark in Portsmouth

Great DJ had so much choice of music so good for everyone to get up and dance the night away. Food was a little disappointing as not much choice however what we did order was very tasty. The staff really lovely especially the waitress that served us.

We celebrated my sister's birthday here. Always thought it looked too expensive to go to. We had the Sunday roast and the plates came out beautifully arranged, the veg was not bog standard! The carrots were honey glazed the cauliflower cheese was yummy and the creamy leeks were divine. This was made even more special by our waiter Gian. He was funny, attentive, nothing was too much trouble for him, a real asset to Watermark. We left feeling very satisfied and all of us said we hadn't had such a wonderful tasty meal in ages! Well done to the chef and team. X

Omg. This place has changed. Been before and enjoyed it but today was so different Food was slow to come out over 1 hr wait. Long que to get a drink then issue wit toilets which left a sheet left on floor of male toilets as constant over flow!! Females shut!! Obviously they had issues but please close rather than show your selves up. Disappointed in food service and very disappointed with the conveniences on the night. Disgusting.

Ate here on Saturday night, it was absolutely packed. We had a table for ten booked for 6.45 and that's when the food came out ready or not. The food was very average, soup quite spicy and the turkey dinner wasn't great, it was all on one plate, including cranberry sauce on turkey which I personally dislike, should be at least on side of meat, and my roast potatoes where so well done they were black, needless to say I didn't eat a lot, Xmas pudding was average as well. We were rushed off the table as soon as our food was finished, sorry they did give us a 10 minute warning. It was so noisy in there you couldn't hear anyone even sitting right by you. I know it is Christmas party time, but I think the restaurant is just being greedy at this time of year and cramming people in there. When we went to the bar after meal we couldn't all be together as there is not enough room in there. I was glad to leave there.

My wife & I went for lunch on my birthday. This was our first visit to the Watermark and we were not disappointed. The main course (shoulder of lamb) arrived quickly and was delicious. The house red wine complemented the lamb well. Deserts ( apple crumble & pineapple upside down cake) again arrived quickly and were tasty. Our waiter Dave was great. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Watermark and look forward to returning.

Went here for dinner with family and was pleasantly surprised, we were expecting something along the lines of a chain pub, but both the menu and the quality of the food were very good. A good selection of beers and good service mean that we would definitely return.

A few of us went down for a few quiet drinks on a Saturday night for a catch up. No anywhere else in Port Solent apart from spoons but that is a pub. We got in and it was just caos. No seats or space at the bar. Very loud. Not the place we were expecting. We managed to get a seat but it was not great. There was a stag do there with a load of pretentious guys in rugby tops and 3 ended up fighting. Security got involved. My drink got spilled on me. We walked out and had a drink in Pizza Express I had afternoon tea there in February. Dry carrot cake. Vile. Coffee so hot you could cook with it. Not a nice experience.

My and three others visited for the New Year Party and had a great time we had a three course meal before the new year party actually started and it was amazing. I’m a wheelchair user and they could not do enough for me for example I could choose what table I wanted which is a big thing for me. Thank you again Water Mark for putting on a great night.

was here for early dinner.. had the lamb shank. slow roasted my butt.. ping food. mash had no spring onion and was cold, lamb had big lumps of fat and carrots well they where like rubber. sent first meal back they provide another just as bad so sent that back to.. and not even an apology. we left hungry.. this place is seriously bad..

Went early evening before the movies. It was fine And did the job and in the hour and a half that we had allowed we managed to have a main course. Would have been pushed to have more but we didn't warn them we were on a time limit. The ambience and decor was light, clean and smart but not trying too hard. Big plus, no tired sticky tables! Food was average to good and the staff were helpful with the various allergies that had to be catered for, coeliac and sugar allergies in our party although the way the menu was written was confusing. Loos were ok too, another plus in my book.

We use to visit very regularly but it is quite a long way from where we live now. Would recommend it to anyone!

i have visited this place before and have a lovely lunch so tried it for the Sunday roast.. it was terrible and has put me right off going here again.. the food was tepid as was the plates and the cold dinner was bad enough but the beef was totally inedible and i think they should have noticed because we hardly ate any of our dinners.. i can not bevel how bad the food was and at almost £20 per meal i expect a lot better.. not at all happy..

Very clean and tidy. Excellent range of coffees and teas. Numerous snacks available and reasonable prices.

good evening for the over 25s nice meal the from 9pm bit of dancing with no hassle just enjoyable bar with good music .

We had family members from Australia and we took them out for lunch. It was a Monday lunch time. We were a party of 6 with a baby. After ordering drinks we ordered lunch and waited 20 minutes which we considered a sensible length of time and all was served together. One of us had mussels. 3 had fish and chips and 2 had Stilton and Steak pie. The mussels They were cooked just right. But they did have strips of cabbage added, which did not add anything to the mussels and could put some people off. I think perhaps it should have been parsley. The fish and chips where very good and the steak and stilton pie was excellent. The cost was fish and Chips £13 Pie £14 Mussels £15. Perhaps a little expensive for lunch but worth it for a nice clean fresh environment with a view of the marina. All was served by a very friendly and polite Youngman. All the meals came together. It gets my thumbs up.
