Costa Coffee in Portsmouth

Coffee fine, quite busy - to be expected. But staff look miserable & uninterested, & in no hurry either! Doesn't take much to smile every now & again.

Rude staff, badly made drinks. I asked for my drink to be remade . The staff told me if i wanted it changed id have to pay. I usually purchase from london and they are so pleasent. In portsmouth they are rude

I usually love going to Costa, this Costa is the worst I’ve been to. Dirty floors, tables in the seating area and staff and the coffee and food prep area the same, the place is filthy. Staff loud and abrupt, one shouting across the shop at her friend. Never again, definitely need training to be up to standard.

Popped in for take out coffee, great service (Tuesday morning 12th) from the young lady on the counter. Advised on the frappe options for my wife which was spot on and my usual Americano was as always great quality. You are only as good as your Team, and this visit was top drawer from a service perspective.

We were served by a horrible, rude employee who clearly didn’t want to be there. The woman in front of us stormed out because they made her drink 3 times and still couldn’t get it right. Our food and drinks took 15 minutes and my mango and passion fruit cooler came out completely liquid! Terrible service and drinks.

I have used this Costa many times over the past few years. It seems to have gone downhill since new management. The woman who works there has an air of stale cigarettes. It’s gross, considering I have seen her use her bare hands to then pick up cakes or toast sandwiches. She is also very rude to customers and calls them ‘love’, not everyone wants to addressed as this. Some customers service training wouldn’t go a miss. There is always dirty trays filled with used coffee cups everywhere. On a covid note, there is no ventilation, the staff do not wear masks, and I point you back to the bare hands I previously mentioned (although, don’t think that’s covid related, it’s just gross) Overall, this costa is absolutely terrible and poorly managed. It really is a shame, it used to be lovely. Let’s hope it picks back up again, and they work on their hygiene and customer service.

I heard this place was under new management so I decided to go in and see what all the fuss was about, wow i was not disappointed!! Amazing experience with fast and friendly, yet professional service! The shop was busy but still controlled well by staff wearing a smile! From my entrance i was impressed with how clean the place looked and felt with a fresh sense of change, will definitely be returning to grab my morning usual! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I came to get my 50% clearly stating I wanted to eat in twice! Although I understand it’s hard to hear, I was made to pay full price. I realising their mistake and they wouldn’t let me get refunded and told me to come back again bearing in mind I hadn’t even touched the items. I got served fast but the customer service was sad, I will not be returning.

Yo estaba aquí y estaba a punto de volver a mi casa cuando de repente vi Costa Coffee y sabía que tenía que tomar café y postre. Estaba mi primero vez aquí pero lo sé no será el ultimo. no se podía pedir un mejor café. Fue Hace Calor y saboroso y mi postre fue divino. Y sobre todo este lugar offere buen valor por dinero y es muy sofisticado y por si no fuera bastante hay periodicos que puedes leer mientras tomando tu café aunque es muy dificil hacer ambos y no lo recomendo esto!

Two visits in one day trip to GWQ - says it all ! Consistently good coffee,quick polite service, meal deals pre 11 and lunchtime both great value. Only trouble with this venue is quantity of seating, in poor weather outside seats not practical. Loo could be cleaner, only having one unisex cubicle not ideal.

Gunwharf keys tiene muchas tiendas así que es muy facil estar cansado y quando esto pasa entonces necesitas un resto y por supesto un taza de café con postre. Hay mucho eliges pero en este día eligí Costa Coffee. Por supuesto yo sabía que iba a ser muy ocupado y tenía dificultad encontrar una mesa y dos sillas libre, sin embargo que valió la pena. Otra vez mi café fue fabuloso y mi postre tambien fue divino y saboroso. Este lugar es muy sofisticado y aunque esta vez fue muy ocupado no estropeó la experencía.

For travellers the range of items are limited and I do have to admit that I preferred the shop that was available then this poor excuse for a coffee stop. As per the norm is Costa everything is overpriced but what make this experience worse is the appalling service. The service was extremely slow and the service experience poor. Its needs a good rethink for the travellers either using Wightlink or trying to find a train when SWT decide to run them.

Only thing that let it down was being given 2 dirty cups for our tea as they hadn't been cleaned well. The staff member we spoke to was really nice and apologetic about it but it did put us off a little.

It's Costa. It's there. You get drinks and food. It's not cheap. But it's yummy. Nice way to while away the time waiting to board. New terminal being built, so Costa will probably get an upgrade too!
