Been here a few times and always enjoy the food etc

Nice venue, some of the staff serving were a bit blunt but it was busy. Food was good but found a bit cold at times. Plates were very hot and had to use a cloth to hold them. All the above being said we would return as it is something different that caters everyone.

Went on Saturday lunch with my adult children. Food was so so, not very hot or flavoursome and some was just nasty! Don't like that you had to pay before you went upstairs, if we had seen the food first we probably wouldn't of stayed. Would not return.

Never had any problems here, the food is good and there are plenty of different foods.

Big variety of food, kids love it. For me everything is average rather than a single style amazing (which is why I eat out). Free soft drink refills great for kids

*BE AWARE* I was told to pay full adult price (£18.99) for my 10 year old "child" because she was 3cm taller than 150cm. My daughter is tall for her age but doesn't have a huge appetite, so their excuse that this rule is in place because children over 150cm can consume more food is absolutely ridiculous. How is that even a reason? 🤣 She's not very ambitious with food either, so when we ate at Spoon, she only had 2 plates of chicken nuggets/chips/olives/pickled onions and a couple of desserts. We attended Spoon for a family members birthday, so whilst I was aware that she probably wouldn't eat a lot of the options available, I was definitely NOT aware that I'd have to pay an adult price for that. The staff looked harassed and weren't overly welcoming. One drinks machine wasn't working and the food was largely just Chinese cuisine. Great for fans of Chinese food, but this place definitely doesn't cater for much else. The spinach pasta was so watery, the sushi section only had 2 vegetarian varieties (one being tofu which isn't to everyone's taste), the salad bar looked very sorry for itself 🤣 and they only had options of pepperoni pizza or cheese, but the cheese pizza was inedible. This could be such a great place but it's totally lacking in imagination and variety. Not if you like Chinese food though, there's LOADS of that. Positives: The Chinese vegetables, mushrooms and meat-free noodles were nice. That's all I ate. Definitely wasn't worth £44 though and not a place I would take my family again.

More than 100 plates I recommend it's fantastic

Your typical resort style all you can eat canteen. It’s difficult to call it a restaurant as it doesn’t have the restaurant quiet, relaxed meal atmosphere. Highly recommend that you book in advance. We booked early evening and were lucky because within 30-45 minutes after we arrived, the place was full. Dining time is restricted to 90 minutes but I somehow believe that may not always be enforceable. It’s called a World Buffet but the food available was a large selection of standard Chinese dishes, a few basic Indian dishes and from Italy, pizza and pasta. That’s it. But on the positive side the sushi bar is well served and freshly stocked and all the dishes are replenished as soon as they begin to run low. Unfortunately, I found the rice was dry and under cooked but the lemon chicken was wonderful, along with the seafood options available, as was the mushrooms in black bean sauce. The service was good and as you can imagine due to the high volume of customers there plenty of staff on duty to clear the tables and even discreetly sweep the floor. In summary, it’s a good place to go with the kids/ family members for that quick gobble down Chinese meal.

Fifteen family members didn't book in until late afternoon for a 6pm meal. We had a great welcome, table set for 16, everything explained and off we went to the food. Some very negative reviews had made us anxious , but we found the opposite. Food was great ..no it's not 4 star Michelin!! ... but good variety. Grill chef took great care with scallops and king prawns. Desserts looked good and favourite was crepe with lemon and sugar specially cooked. Used plates were regularly cleared. Great experience.

Went with family and grandchildren, for my husbands 60th birthday.

Had a lovely dinner that evening, had never been before to that buffet, great value for money if seafood is definitely your thing, I tried to get lots of sushi, prawns, noodles etc. Loads of drinks are on the side 👍

Turned up one hour before And was told kitchens shut mate no food left

You need to go take the drinks by yourself from the bar area. They use cheap and smelly plastic cups which really put me off. Service isn't great. The female cashier at the entrance isn't polite as well. I don't recommend this place. The car park also costs £6 for parking just over an hour.

We ate many times there and every time everything was spotless, but tonight something didn't quite work in some areas. The grilled prawn and scallop were well undercooked, the battered wings were soaked in oil and pancakes were chewy.

Enjoyed my first experience at Spoon. There's a huge variety of food to choose from across Asian, Indian, African, European. Good quality ingredients and fresh food. Highly recommended. Excellent value for money!

Need to update their menu prices online as was £14.99 per person when I booked online and £18.99 tonight when I went at 6pm. The lady on her head phones said it’s up to the customers to update the prices online. Will never go again. Absolute money making company. Wasn’t impressed with the food. Prawns cold. Pasta awful and soggy pizzaz no flavour. Took my boys there for the first time and awful

Went last night for birthday meal, the man on door staff was extremely rude, would ignore you when talking too or tell you to wait a minute and speak to the people behind in the que. After booking you still need to wait in the que even though you have booked a time. Food was decent - wasn’t anything special. Actual waitresses/waiters were lovely

Don’t agree with the fact I had to pay £10 for my 3 year old (38 months old) who barely ate 1 full plate of food… Food was nice, lots of options. Friendly waiter who gave service with a smile!

The welcome we received was really warm, we had never been before it was very well explained how it all works, the food was lovely and the variety really suited my family and the desserts are awesome especially the steamed custard Buns we will certainly be returning 😀

Great variety of dishes and enjoyable atmosphere. It will be ideal place to go with family and friends. The location is convenient as it is right in front the NCP car parking, which is ridiculously immense. However, the only downside will be the NCP parking as 9/10 the paying machine will not be working and the charge is different to the actual notice Board.

Didn't have a great time on my last visit, service was ok the only nice people I found were the ones taking plates, all other staff were either rude or looked at you like you just insulted them. Food was very watery as my partner put it "you can tell the macaroni cheese is a cheap box one that they have added too much water too". A lot of the food was quite bland too. I went around a year ago and it was alright, nothing to write home about but good enough to come back to, unfortunately i wont be coming back now.

Visited a little late in the day, after 7pm, and were charged £19 each, £17 for a 'meh' bottle of Chilean white wine and £3 for a bottomless glass. Unplanned, so didn't know about the free parking: note, the car park outside the door is expensive. Wide range of food, obviously. Trying a little of everything to discover favourites showed that 'baby' sausages are a worldwide phenomenon - who knew? Some of the meat dishes were a little chewy but on the whole everything I tried was good. My partner did try the pizza and, much to my dismay, only took a couple of bites from each because it was either a tasteless base or bland topping - and she loves pizza. Being a late start I was not too surprised to see serving dishes with little in them, although those that were empty had had their labels removed to that we were not taunted by what we had missed. It was a little strange that the staff started clearing up around 8:20pm; we didn't have the floor swept beneath our feet but the empty tables on either side did, raising personal concerns with stirring up dust. Even this late there were children running around or playing hide and seek amongst the tables - why do parents think this is acceptable? I don't eat in a playground and shouldn't have to endure shrieking and dancing about my table. Hope they enjoyed the pizza... We left at 9pm and, interestingly, the staff were sorting themselves out to sit down and eat what had been left.

Plenty of options to choose from. Quantity was great, however, most of the food tasted like it was re-heated. The food was a mixed bag, some dishes were decent and others very bland. If you’re looking for quantity > quality, this is probably the option for you. Waiters and waitresses did their job, no smiles or talking, just did their job. I can’t have neither pork nor alcohol, but to be honest, I feel like I’ve had both since the ingredients in the food weren’t shown and some dishes weren’t even labelled. Oh, and you have to wait in a line to get a small cup of water.

It was great, but I had a disagreement with the fact that my 9-year-old son had to pay as an adult because he is taller than the height limit they have for a child. The manager told us to take it or leave it. A total letdown. The food made up for the disappointment. They should review the height policy, it does not make sense.A child is a child no matter what.

Very busy, as it was a Friday night. A fantastic choice of food that you can taste, and keep tasting, as many times as you like, without judgement! Great for Birthday parties!

For 20 pounds you can eat and drink as much as you want for three hours... We have never seen this style of restaurant.

Lovely place to go but didn't refill the dishes quick enough. Quick to get u out but it was a reasonable place

So to be honest we arrived late, although 7.30pm seems a bit ealry to stop refreshing buffet counters when closing time is 2 hours later. That said, management did allow us to view counters before we decided to stay. Having that option is very rare nowdays. What there was actual tasted very nice and the teriyaki counter was still open. The fresh crepe were very nice too. So get in ealry,as 7.30 appears to be last orders on Sunday night, and you won't be disappointed.

Portsmouth city center "World Buffet" 20 pounds per person + 4 pounds all you can drink. It costs NT$240 in Hong Kong coins, which is a good deal.

We dined with another family at it was a happy experience. My kids are choosy eaters and my first time ever that they enjoyed the dinner. Lots of food choices. My boy loved their pizza, and my eldest got his sushi. We had the mussels and prawn... so much food. The kids and few rounds of their desserts. There is curry, fried rice or noodles. Also, the crispy aromatic duck that we can get from a Chinese takeaway, and of course the buns. Also a pleasant place to have birthday celebrations. Staff are helpful and prompt to collect empty plates and to clean the table once the guests have left. Not suitable for vegetarians and those on diet as you will get tempted to eat more due to abundance of food that lures your taste buds. Well maintained place and clean toilets. I will definitely come back again and will surely recommend it to my friends and guests.

What an amazing place. The staff members are professional, polite and helpful from the moment you walk in to the moment you go out of the door. The premises are immaculately clean. The selection of food is out of this world. All fresh, very well presented and super delicious. It is so hard to choose only one thing. There is something even for the pickiest eaters. Will definitely come back again.

Had a surprising very pleasant expeience here on a Tuesday night. Place spotless, both staff and customers were friendly. Sushi and Chinese were very good, aromatic duck was rather dry though. Thai long noodles awesone as were the King Prawns. Next time will try the Indian!

Pretty decent for £19 each! Most of the meat is mainly differently cooked pork. The deserts I would avoid, parents not watching their kids and putting that hands all over the food and some of the deserts and still kinda frozen In The middle. The scallops are under cooked too

Came here for my daughters 9th birthday their were 15 of us and we had a lovely time brought cake out sang happy birthday

Wouldn’t recommend we went last night to celebrate my sons birthday and have been here many of times before and the hygiene is very poor the staff who was cleaning around the dishes was going around with a cloth and wiping all the food of the side back into the dishes a member of staff than dropped a whole dish of onion rings on the floor than proceeded to scooped them back up and put them out for people to have other families amongst us was also complaining about this half the dishes was empty and many other customers asked the staff for some more pancakes for the pork and they didn’t put anymore out we also had chicken curry and chicken was raw and all pink still inside so than we have phoned up to ask to speak to the manager and we got told he’s not there and that he had already apologised to a man about the incident with the onion rings but there was multiple other families there and they didn’t say anything to us or apologise

I really like this place, so much choice...downside is the price for kids, 10 years old one entry was same as for adult. But ....still worth it.

The food selection itself wasn't bad being a mix of different cuisines but I feel this was maybe the issue where maybe they bit of more than they could chew as all the chicken was well overcooked and the tastes on the food we did try was very substandard. Crispy duck pancakes were fairly good though

Water and ice is very scarce! They do not indulge when requesting more ice. You would think paying £19 should be more than enough to cover ice water!!!! As for Desserts, it needs much improvement. Not a wide variety of choice! The Atmosphere seems tense amongst staff. Not a friendly environment!!! No interactions with diners!!

All of the meals there were amazing, nothing was raw. It was all freshly made and more eatable than in any restaurant. The meals were really attracting and delicious open to different meals. Their pizza was over the top of even Pizzerias. However the staff have poor communication, they understand basic greetings and words however when you ask them something in depth it gets bit too complicating. Really cheap £20 per adult

Good selection of different food and ok atmosphere all together. The only thing I didn't like was the approach of the guy checking our lunch tickets:he was a bit rude and rushing us a bit even if the restaurant was empty.

One of the best asian buffet if your around Portsmouth area. I'm not comparing it to others in london alright just to be clear. I love the grilled scallops, shrimps, and crabs. But hate the skinny guy who grills it (a bit rude, slow and messy. Unlike the friendly regular guy who does the grilling). Your lucky if he's not around as all staff are very accomodating and kind. A lot of selection which you should try. Make sure you come in hungry as you should make a lot out of your £20 buffet meal.

Great price. Lots of choice and quality was good (considering its a buffet). Tables are a bit close together once they are all occupied so it makes it a struggle to get between seats to go up and get food (and I am only small). But we will definitely be coming back again.

Got really sick… throwing up after eating there. Just checked their food hygiene rating on FSA website and they were awarded only 1 star! Now I understand why we throw up and got sick. Avoid this place…. Better go somewhere else.

Didn't get the birthday request for my husband. Waited and waited so we've just left. They played the song a million times but noone came with the little cake and candles They said they'd bring out. But when they did come, it was for th table next to us. Food was OK, some over seasoned stuff. Pasta sauce was full of pepper and couldn't eat it. It was definitely better the 1st time we went a year ago.

Definitely not coming back. Food were all terrible even just the simple egg-corn soup. Not happy with desserts and the drinks either.

I've been ill since Saturday night after dining here. I'm certain it's food poisoning. Their food hygiene is questionable, all the lids were up on the food for a good while to go cold. Staff could care less. Don't eat here, you're better off at McDonald's.

We have been going here for family meals since they opened. They are able to accommodate large groups with no fuss and they offer such a variety of cuisines that even the unadventurous should be able to find something they like.

Plenty of food, poor food quality, italian pasta without taste, tika masala without taste, frozen cakes, onion rings without onion. Everything else was ok . Welcoming and Bar staff a bit annoying and slow, grill (teriyaki)guy very nice. Free 3 hours parking,

Ask for glass of tap water and they wouldn't let me have it in glass only in plastic beaker after paying £20 each l wasn't very pleased won't be going again food wasn't very warm

Everything was great except the food part. A little bit below the average in terms of taste. Fantastic stuff members who are always there to help you. Both dining areas and buffet were clean
