Literally the curry doesn't taste like curry. The blandest takeaway I've ever had. AWFUL.

Was very disappointed with my food wasn't very nice at all chips were absolutely awful chow mine watery the special curry wasn't too bad but there wasn't very much meat in it

Placed an order at 6pm. Told me not to expect any doors till 9.30pm! No apology at all and did not make it easy for me to cancel.

Curry had no flavour but onions and the meat was a bit funky ... The chicken balls were amazing though!! Lovely people... I'd go again for sure 😁

Lovely Chinese and fantastic tasting meals

Popped in to grab some food for two but as there was a little sign "Cash only" I ordered food just for one person - Plain Chow Mein noodles and Sliced Beef with mixed vegetables. What a waste of money! Plain Chow Mein had 2/3 of bean sprouts and only 1/3 of noodles! The beef dish wasn't better - most of it was vegetables and just few slices of beef! Unfortunately the worst Chinese food I have ever had. Very disappointed.

their sweet and sour chicken other than being a watery tasteless hot plate of garbage, also gave me itchiest sore throat of my entire life! not sure of their hygiene levels back there in the kitchen. from the looks of it a very dirty place

It’s bye from me. Few weeks ago food nice , next visit as well then I noticed that level of onions increases. Honestly my first visit was a good memory I even told few people about this place. Chicken curry was delicious and lots of tasty chickens. Yesterday I only found few and lots lots of onions ,same in my daughters noodle. Next time we go elsewhere

My partner and I order from here quite a lot and we’ve never had a problem with the food. The staff are amazing and always listen to our order notes as well. The food is delicious and worth the price

Oh dear!! Ordered chicken noodle soup and a mixed curry and fried rice (and a pancake roll). Everything was so bland with no real flavour, it was a real disappointment. I've ordered many times but tonight was a total waste of money....I don't think I'll bother again

Curry sauce had no flavour and runny and the chicken was black and chewy chips were soggy and barely no egg in the rice prawn cracker was the best thing take some tips from kam too

1st time buyer. Never again!!! £40 on a Chinese that was tasteless, Chicken satay was to tough to chew and the Chicken in the curry was dry and tough!! What a waste of money.

I ordered from this restaurant for the first time. The Singapore fried rice was literally the worst Chinese I have had. It was so tasteless and the amount of curry in it was just ridiculous.

Charged 10p for plastic bag. Sweet & Sour sauce very thin and looked like cold tea. Pork balls dark in colour like they need to change the frying oil. Prawn Chow mein not too bad for the price

Ordered several takeaway dishes and enjoyed them all. Everything was correctly done, so no complaints. The special menu contains several items, but only one was actually available, but maybe I just visited on the wrong day. Recomended!

Friendly service, set meal great value and tasty with the best prawn crackers. A good location if collecting by car.

As a Chinese, I can tell you that this restaurant is not authentic at all. Everyone pls do not waste your money here. I don't understand why such a horrible restaurant doesn't close down in the UK, i promise you that in China this restaurant will NOT open for more than a month.

Extensive menu and fast service. Good portions. 20% surcharge to eat in, which is quite hefty. Try the honey lemon tea, hot or cold. And the sweet and sour prawns!

Has a good set menu with starter, main and side for £7 . Food is good too.

I have just received my order and it is absolutely vile the crispy chillies beef is black and burnt and has a funny taste and the egg fried rice well had no flavour wot so ever and the chow main well I wouldn't serve that to a dog it's rank horrible taste curry sauce taste like washing up liquid worst Chinese ever don't waste your time or money

OMG cant believe how bad the food was when it arrived!!! I ordered chicken fried rice, king prawn chowmein, can of coke. Coke got forgoten! Food was tasteless and disgusting. Would not recommend this take away very bad.

It's also a great place to sit down and eat too! You will find it's clientele are heavily into the Chinese persuasion - and some people put a lot to store by that sort of fact.

Instead of the usual takeaway, today, I sat down to a lovely (and very large) bowl of noodle soup. Hot and spicy - and very reasonably priced - it was a fantastic lunch!

Not very appealing looking, but my rule of thumb with Chinese restaurants is that the worse they look, generally the better the food is. This was no exception. There is the usual choice of Chinese menu food, and payment is by CASH ONLY. There is a cashpoint on the other side of the road about 400 yds further along by the shops. I was very impressed by the quality and flavour of the food. I ate in, but I imagine take away would be equally good.

Asked for curry sauce and chips not onions with curry sauce. Ok a few chips were in there but what i asked for, and what was on the menu was not what i got.

They have a sit-down service here in a cafeteria style. This is fine but the main reason we go to the Harbour View is for the excellent takeaway Chinese food. It makes me hungry to sit here and think about it!

Great food and customer service. This is our favourite chinese takeaway in Portsmouth. My wife loves the Kung Po King Prawn...and she is really picky!

I eat here on a weekly basis, the food is great and seems authentic, meal deal prices are really good. Only down side is that space to eat in is very limited at times

They do a very cheap lunch meal deal that involves main courses and a side course but would't get served after five minutes.

Surprised at the negative reviews, as we have used this little place for a few months now and not had any reason to complain about food or service in that time. To be honest, the quality of the food seems a cut above the rest - some of our friends only ever use this place, despite moving out the area, which says a lot. Can only say as we have found, and on that basis would recommend... Might be worth giving the delivery a miss and going and collecting the food (where you can check the order)... That English to Cantonese translation on the phone is always going to be an awkward one...

Ordered a Singapore chow mein with no onions as I'm allergic to them but found loads of them in there and to top it off had very little meat in my chow mein either... Will not be going there again... Avoid this place like the plague!!!

Me and two colleagues ordered from here on the 05/02/16 at around 9pm. We ordered our food to be delivered to our place of work as we work 12 hour shifts though out the night. Our food arrived promptly. As we are in a place of work we didn't eat our food straight away. When we did get round to putting our food on the plate - we had been given the wrong order. I then proceeded to call the resturante and the girl on the end of the phone said they would send a replacement out to us. I then had a further phone call from a 'manager' < (I use this word lightly) - who started to shout down the phone at me and telling me that I order chicken wings! I do not eat of the bone and never have done. She then continued to say that the girl repeated the order back to me.... well she didn't ... but the 'manager' says she believes her employee over a CUSTOMER! she then said that they were closed and couldn't help.... she then put the phone down on me! I checked online and they were open until 11pm - my call ended with her at 10:15. They are extremely rude! I Havant eaten the chicken and said id swap it for what I ordered but she was not having any of it! I will not be ordering from here again and I will be spreading the word! Discussing!

Had the meal deal for £6.50. Just the right amount and lots of choice. All made fresh to order. Nice people. We will be back guys.

Always fresh, authentic, full of flavour, reasonably priced and served with a smile from the really friendly staff. I love this little place. The best Chinese takeaway I know - and I know quite a few.

Muy muy buena comida aquí. Te dan el menú auténtica cocina cantonesa de estilo, que es el de ir y luego el estilo occidental menú chino típico. Siempre está ocupado con estudiantes chinos y la comida es fresco y gustos sin pizca de GMS!

Después de un viaje al lejano oriente nos apetecía algo de comida china auténtica y decidimos hacer un viaje a Hong Kong bar de té. Sin embargo, después de caminar todo el camino a través del ferry Portsmouth nos pareció que estaba cerrado. Encontramos el Harbour View en nuestro camino de regreso a la terminal del ferry y una joya! Como es de esperar, estaba lleno de estudiantes buscando un sabor de casa - posiblemente HK o China. Teníamos vientre cerdo, fideos, arroz, ganado Ton sopa y té por menos de 15 libras. Es sólo una pequeña llevar convertido cafe, pero nos encantó!
