Chicken tasted rubbery, more onion than chicken, curry was VERY salty, sweet and sour dish tasted vinegary - not a nice meal at all!

Food is unreal. Tasty and very good VFM (value for money.

Used the light after many years and was very surprised how much better it was this time

extremely rude staff member, tried to order food and he told me my address was wrong when I repeated my address 5 times and it is in the right area for delivery as we have ordered from here many times before. Rude service who hung up on me when I was nothing but polite. Shame because the food is pretty good and we would order a lot from here if it wasn’t such rude staff! Lost a sale and customers there.

This is a real good chinese, unfortunately for me.they must of been really busy as the food took a hour to get here by then wasn't hungry

Since the owners have changed the quality of the food become really bad. We ordered food on Saturday and Sunday night we all had really bad bellies. It's a shame as we used to go there quite a lot before the changes happened :(

good but could be better - soggy chips let it down, good sizes on portions, friendly staff and a talk thru screen micro phone system of ordering - cooking staff wearing masks - good food apart from chips

Delicious, first time for us tonight using The light Chinese takeaway, it was the best we've had in ages . Will definitely be using again . We also had a freebie thrown in and the ribs were lovely and tasty and tender. Delivered within 49 mins and still hot . Job well done

Took the opportunity to try The Light last night as I live locally and have tried all the others. The Light was far and away the best I have experienced. The food was delivered at the time I was told when ordering, it was hot, fresh and the best Chinese I have had in a very long time. Will definitely be returning.

Had a lovely chinese very tasty and big portions...recommend singapore chow mein and sweet n sour hong kong prawn absolutely amazing PLUS come with a freebie which was nice and tasty....defo getting from here from now on....BIG 5 STARS 😋

Me and my wife ordered a chicken curry from the light on Sunday 30th June 2019 and I must say it was awful the worst takeaway we have ever had period

Great food great service and reasonable delivery times

We use this place frequently, this is by far in my opinion the best qualit and value Chinese takeaway that delivers in our area. Rapid delivery and food is always hot and ample size portions. Will be using this again

A bit tight with the sauce, a bit over the top with the rice.... for £3.50 you can't complain too much..

Food came, was so inedible so I called them back and said it doesn’t taste right and would like a full refund. When they turned back up at my house they refused a full refund and gave me 3 quarters of my money, I couldn’t be bothered with the argument so toke the money and just know not to order from here again.

Me and my boyfriend ordered from here a couple of nights ago as the Chinese we would normally use was shut. We had heard a couple of good things about it so thought let’s try it. Never again! The chow mein was like rubber and looked very undercooked. The chicken balls where so dry we struggled to eat them the bbq sauce was lumpy and cold and we ordered some duck as-well that was just a tub of fat! We ended up not eating any of it. Would not recommend.

Our regular Chinese takeaway.* Have collected but usually get orders delivered, we're always given an estimated lead time and food usually arrives 5-10 minutes early. Food is always hot, tastes great and, importantly, there's plenty of it! * - We've tried plenty, but they either don't deliver or got orders wrong once too many times. Been going to The Light for over 10 years.

I'm very disappointed with the food I purchased.

We order curries from here and they are lovely. Curry portion is quite big but there isn't enough boiled rice

We ordered from here in 2016 on the day we moved in nearby. It was o good. Oily with a funny taste. Their chicken chow mein is odd. Compared to most others, it's not the best. Tried it again.. you know... giving it the benefit of the doubt. Still no better. Beef and green pepper in black bean sauce. A few shavings of mystery meat, loads of uncooked green pepper and a tub of sauce. No thanks

Had eaten here before and food was ok but refused to swap chicken balls for vegetable spring rolls in a £3.50 special for a vegetarian. I thought this was very poor. Not good customer service if your a veggie.

Have used this place for quite a long time but have had no reason to moan until now. Ordered a meal at 5.30pm & was told could be up to an hour....ok..that wasn't too bad...rang at 7pm, an hour & half later to ask where our food was to be told it's just left ...but how long had it been ready for as was not that warm when it arrived. When you pay good money you expect things to be within a reasonable time and HOT

Had eaten here before and as another local take away was closed we thought we would go back here again. What a monumental blunder. 2 mains ordered and a 3rd to go. We wanted a 3 pound special for our daughter . Now what could be wrong with that, well she doesn't eat meat so we asked if they could swap the chicken balls for mini spring rolls like Lee Garden do but the answer back from the kitchen was NO we can't do that. Although they sell mini spring rolls they couldn't swap chicken balls for spring rolls. It's not rocket science guys, you simply put 3 mass produced spring rolls in and take 3 chicken balls out. Your lazyness cost you around £23 and long term a lot more as we won't order here again. Must be good to make so much money that a simple swap is to much to do. Clearly vegetarians are not welcome here. Very poor show The Light. We definitely won't be back.

Decent Chinese takeaway. Don't choose plain boiled rice though; it's stuck together in a lump! Egg fried rice is good. They deliver for free. Hygiene rating is ****

I will not be having food from here again. I got delivered warm. The chicken chow main x2 was like rubber. Out sweet and sour was very chewy. Phoned up to complain, the manager said if all still whole would get full refund which was £24.00 but if eaten £5 refund..what a joke and not got customer care. Well not again.

My family use The Light regularly, polite service, always very attentive, fast service. Great tasting food always. They also have "Specials" that my kids share. Never had any problems at all. Good Job !

Have had food from here many times and have never had a bad meal. Sometimes a little bit of a wait for collection but nothing too bad. Fair prices and good sized portions. Happy days and will be back again 👍

The best chicken omelette I've ever tried in years! Definitely would recommend This place!

My local Chinese, always delivers on taste and service - friendly, efficient. Their turn around time from order to being ready is quick too which is great when you are hungry. Sometimes we get it to deliver when we are feeling particularly lazy, other times we will go for a walk, place our order, pick up a dessert in Spar or OneStop then by the time we are back(10-15mins) iit is ready.

Couldn't hate anything about this place! More then generous portions and it taste perfect. Never order from anywhere else

Best one around this one , great food at great price you get bigger portion sizes here than any of the other local shops, delivery of course and they are always polite on the phone and in person. Great job guys see you again soon

Enjoyed a mixed party meal for a large number of people. Everything was very nice and excellent portions. Plenty left over afterwards.
