We stopped by here to get some drinks whilst visiting the station. Drinks were nice and reasonably priced. Staff were very pleasant.

A somewhat dark and dingy shed, which was thematic to the heritage railway experience. It didn’t set expectations high, but I knew user reviews suggested this was a better lunch option than it looked. A limited selection of traditional British sandwiches, e.g. egg and watercress, coronation chicken, was available as well as some cakes and bacon buns. My sons had bacon butties, which they seemed to enjoy. We had coronation chicken and ploughman’s sandwiches, which were fresh and significantly better than average (well, better than Greggs and M&S). I also had a perfectly decent cappuccino and the little boys had fruit juice. We visited while on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway about to begin the walk from Goathland to Grosmont. I’d definitely suggest this as a fresh alternative to a packed lunch.

We hadn't planned to stop here but al large number of people armed with expensive looking cameras walking down to the station alerted our attention so we followed them! It was, unknown to us,a "steam" day so we decided to enjoy the moment and afterwards headed for the warehouse tea room for a drink and a snack. It was quite late in the afternoon so the snacks were a little limited but the tea was very welcome. Tables are available outside as well. There's a considerable amount of memorabilia to look at and it made for a interesting time. Well worth visiting.

I love coming here! The ladies are really friendly & the tea is very good. I asked for a small cup of water for my little dog & this was readily supplied. Always make a point of coming here.

I stopped in for a bacon roll and a cup of tea (£4.50 together) after cycling the Goathland , Egton, Grosmont 20km loop, and was in need of a snack and a chance to watch the world go by. The staff were friendly and the food was served quickly, and on a sunny morning there are few nicer places to sit and watch to world go by than here.

Having visited the railway station on a bright but chilly day, we popped into the Warehouse Tea Room for a warming cup of tea and light refreshment. The tea was piping hot and there was a good selection of 'lite bites'. The building is an old warehouse which has been sympathetically restored, and retains many original features, not least the hand cracked crane which stands in it's original position. The seating has been cleverly fashioned to look like old wooden crates, but thoughtfully provided with a fitted padded cushion. The partitioning looks like it's been made from reclaimed timber from rolling stock and is very effective.

Decided to eat here based on TripAdvisor reviews but was very disappointed. The only hot sandwiches available are bacon and sausage. No vegetarian hot sandwiches.

We had heard about a Harry Potter shop at Goathland station and whilst costing there popped into the station cafe set in an old goods shed. Got to say it is a fantastically renovated building, where two old wagons in the goods shed have seats fitted. Novel idea ! The lady behind the counter was very polite and friendly...and another volunteer came in and started tidying tables. All adds to customer attention ! We had cream teas and the scones with cream and jam were delicious ! 4.50 for a cream tea....slightly pricy? But it was served in a nice place by a friendly face ! There are seats outside as well so you can watch the steam trains pass. In the cafe itself there is a pictorial history on the walls to peruse after your food. As I mentioned...we had cream teas but there was an excellent selection of pies and pasties and sandwiches. Kids will love this place....everyone will !

As part of our honeymoon we took a trip on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and decided to have a cup of tea while waiting for the train. The Tea room is excellent being a former goods shed and you sit in traing wagons. The let down is the price as a Cup of Tea in a take away cup was £1,80. having been to London where i only paid 70p for a proper mug of tea. It is clear that the location is taking advantage of tourists and charging prices that are over the top

A typical English pub. We were warmly welcomed (as always). The food is good and the staff is friendly as always. The beer is also tasty. There is a covered and heated area in the yard for smokers. Dogs are very welcome. I can only recommend this pub. Unfortunately I won't be able to get there again until September.

Got stranded in castleton trying to get home to Danby during Storm Darragh. Called into the pub to get warm and work out what to do. Last minute decision was to stay the night because we didn't want to risk getting stuck in the floods. Room was perfect, clean and tidy! The 2 young lads behind the bar were so helpful and kind!! We could even laugh about being stuck 5 mins from home! They kindly charged our phones behind the bar and even lent us a member of staff's charger overnight. Next time we will have to try the food as its been a good few years since we last ate in there!
